Creamy Middle Eastern ice cream with elastic texture, flavored with mastic and rosewater. Refreshing and unique dessert.

"Very much a 'hipster ' bar, based on the decor, drinks and food. It 's typical London alcohol prices and food prices, you won 't get change from a fiver for a pint, and a burger and chips will be £7 . Food quality is overall good the few times I 've eaten here. The bar is approximately 5-10 minutes walk from Sutton train station and is located next to the band stand and opposite Wilko 's. Ideally located to drop the husband off while you shop and join him later for a cocktail or beer and grab a bite to eat! There 's a good amount of seating on the high street directly outside the front, and a decent amount of seating inside so you 'll probably be able to get a seat even if you have to do inside. I 'd advise booking a table for larger parties or if you want a seat outside even it 's busy and the weather is nice. Shiner Sudtone has a limited selection of ales on draught that I believe rotate every few months, and always includes locally brewed beers which is good. There 's also a small selection of chilled beers which is much appreciated in the heat. I like to visit every now and again as it 's a bit less claustrophobic then the Spoons and more mature crowd. The bar also has a good selection of board games for those who want a cosy game and drink with friends away from home. Recommended."

"Went for a family meal. Pub was very dated, service from staff was really quick, friendly waitresses. Been wanting to go for ages having had a lot of recommendations from friends about different dishes- noticed on the menu that the grilled cheese sandwiches and gyros people have raved about weren’t on the menu? Not sure if they had a simplified menu due to covid? Also you don’t do starters?! Unsure why? One of our favourite things about coming to a restaurant as a family is ordering a variety of starters just so we can have a pick at different food. Myself and kids ordered the burgers, can I say the portion sizes are absolutely huge and even though I have a big appetite I could have shared a main meal. Very good value for money, chips were delicious, burger was a bit dry but definately not the worst we’ve had. Would come for another visit but hope you extend the menu"

"We have had the pleasure to eat at the Mermaid a few times over our long weekend away at the Scilly's. The staff have always welcomed us warmly on arrival and remained attentive throughout each visit. The food is good value pub grub with some intriguing specials which just HAD to be sampled. My particular favourite dish was the roast option available on Sundays. We opted for the mixed roast platter which came with a very hearty portion of both Beef and Pork. The meat was perfect and it all came with a lovely selection of seasonal veg. My only regret on my visit was choosing to only have one scallop to start as opposed to three! The scallop came in half of its shell with a very generous amount of garlic butter. A cheeky bit of bread to soak up the butter and I was in heaven. I must admit though that the star of the show is Steve, the pub dog!! An absolute cutie. I would like to relay my thanks to Dan, Bailey and all of the team for an incredible, affordable dining experience."

"Awful. Rude. Their management training, I think she was a manager, needs updating. She refused to give her name...... data protection, she replied ??? Politely ask if the customers know your policies? Never argue back. She also said she'd gladly wait on my complaint. You'll be glad to know I have sent it to your Head Office. Price per person: £10–20 Service: 1"

"The food was okay. The restaurant was empty around 7pm. The table setting was poor, except you like artificial flower pots and old cutlery (fork and knife) that doesn’t match on a serviette. We had starters and main but the waitress told us to keep our cutleries after the starters so we could use them for the main. I found it surprising seeing we were the only ones at the restaurant and our plates were being cleared. The milkshake was watery but tasted nice. Food was affordable. The restaurant didn’t look like the pictures, maybe because we didn’t go upstairs to the shisha lounge. There’s no parking space, you’ll have to look for a spot in the inner roads. I’ll say my experience was a 5."

"What a fantastic experience! We stayed here overnight on our way to Cornwall and couldn’t be happier with our choice. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the pub, where we both had their homemade burgers—absolutely delicious! We also tried a few pints of the local cider. The rooms are tucked away at the back of the pub along a small gravel path and are beautifully decorated. They come with complimentary toiletries and proper coffee—pure bliss! The breakfast was a highlight as well; I had the full English, which was truly delicious. Well done, Team Nog! It was a brilliant stay all around. Thank you!"

"Part of the acclaimed Brunning Price chain of gastro-pubs, the Hare has typically excellent ambience and decor, slick service with lots of attentive waiting staff and first rate food, although our main course was uncharacteristically slow to arrive, for which they did apologise and it was Sunday lunchtime rush hour. The only gripe is the inadequate parking at such a popular venue. The pub has a few free spaces outside otherwise you have to find free on-street parking nearby. There are residential side-roads off the A264 either side of the nearby Esso petrol station going east towards Tunbridge Wells you can park in which are a short walk back if all else fails. Highly recommended. Parking: Pub car park has few spaces so you rely on free street parking if you can find it."

"First time back here in a few years and what a downturn! The food was disgusting. Burnt Yorkshire puddings. Roast potatoes that were near impossible to cut. Fatty steak and ALL 3 meals were the same. I'll not be returning. We did not raise this on the day simply because the food was constantly bad, all 3 meals were burnt and inedible which in my eyes reflected accurately the establishments quality control on food going out of the kitchen. And I didn’t want look like we was out for a free meal! Which some owners, not all, may try to offer to deter you from reviewing accurately! Sorry, just being honest! Parking: High street location so parking is difficult but there is a rail station car park nearby. Also, there is a paid car park opposite at the alternative pub! Kid-friendliness: Unfortunately the location doesn’t afford room for any outside space for children."

"As a local, we are so lucky to have such a wonderful and unique place to enjoy such incredible food, incredible in many ways. From a tiny galley comes the freshest most delicious food you can ever imagine, packed with flavor and produced with genuine passion, you can almost taste it before it even hits your mouth! The seafood in particular is excellent and fresh, delivered every day from Orkney, the once home of the lovely couple who run Oakwood. The various sauces for the fish are rich being packed with a mix of butter, cream, wine and fresh herbs. All vegetable's and potatoes are fresh, don't expect frozen food here. There is no other place on earth to enjoy and appreciate quality food. The surroundings are stunning and quiet, no road traffic, just the odd small boat or canoe paddling along the canal. Not been since August 2020 due to lockdown, but my tummy is pulling me back. If the weather is good, eat outside with a canvas of greenery singing birds and a mild breeze shaking the trees just enough to provide the distinctive and beautiful sent of Highland woodland. This place has the finest and freshest food in the Highlands, while most restaurant's cook food, Oakwood creates a completely unique experience with a mix of phenomenal food, great hosts and the craic is always grand. One final point, feel free to bring your own beer or wine, glasses are provide free of charge and always with a smile!"

"Went in for a quick pint and I have to say that I've never seen such bad customer service in all my life wow. No greeting just a weird awkward glare like I was some kind of high profile criminal or something. As I was looking for what beer they had... no recommendation as to what ale to recommend or what is popular... just a weird glare. Never felt so uncomfortable in my life. Remember losing a job because I didn't ask the customer if they wanted a bag..... yet they allow someone to have zero social skills to be at the forefront on a business. The staff need to remember that they not there only to pull pints.. they also need to make the customer feel welcome and positive and want to return.... Judging by there was barely anyone there gives me the conclusion that this customer service issue persists alot more. Apart from ales that are £5 each when retrospectively should be the cheapest option from a lager for instance. The customer service is SHOCKING..."

"I used to come to this spot with my mum and dad about 18 years ago and I’m so glad it’s kept its overall outstanding service. I have been about 6 times over the past 12 months (once for Christmas Day) and they never disappoint. The management and staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is always amazing. Keep up the great work guys and I will see you again once I have lost a few pounds."
"Staff was unwelcoming and cold. Food was good and so if the location but how can you enjoy when the lady who serves makes you feel like she doesn't even want you there. I see that a lot of people have shared this feedback about the staff but clearly it's hasn't been heard or worked on. I would love to go back but only after the staff smile (even if it's fake! to welcome new customers. I remember waiting for my turn to order a drink but the old lady at the bar ignored me and asked the regular customer to order. That's rude."

"Pub was EMPTY on a Thursday evening, we were the only ones in. Went for one of their own beers, which was cloudy and tasteless (definitely end of batch not stored right). After 5+ mins of waiting for it to settle we brought this up with the bar staff, who proceeded to pour herself a glass, sip it and tell us this is ‘how it is’, not acknowledging our disappointment, needless to say we were not impressed with the customer service. It’s a shame as we had been warned to avoid prior, but as real ale fans recently moving to Birmingham thought it was worth the trip"
"We had a pleasant table and the service was quick and efficient. However, the standout of our experience was the food. My partner really enjoyed her slow-cooked shoulder of lamb shepherd's pie, and my sirloin steak may have been the best I've ever had. The mushrooms were also excellent. It seems like The Bells has a new manager and chef, and it definitely made a positive impact. The only downside was the limited selection of starters, but we opted to skip that and have dessert instead, which was delicious."

"A lack of atmosphere with no attention to the tired décor inside. There are signes posted all over the place stating they don't take card payments which is rediculous, as well as a big judgemental sign stating they do not serve alcohol in bold red writing. Waitress was very friendly and served us with a smile. The food came and several people at our tables complained that their dishes were not spicy at all. They all asked for medium spice. My garlic naan had no evidence of garlic and tastes plain as well as slightly doughy. My friends naan had some kind of paste on it and also tasted doughy. So we basically ended up sitting at a table with no alcohol and bland food glad that our friend could cover the bill in cash so we can pay him back. Will not be returning."

"If you 're a band and asked to play this place and travel quite some distance, I wouldn 't bother our set was delayed until nearly 11pm while they invited some random kid not on the bill to do 'kareoke ' with guitar on the stage, and the place emptied."

"Great collection of second hand records which are mostly in good condition. Despite the crushing effect of the pandemic this friendly vinyl store is still here and thriving! Knowledgeable owners and staff. My companion found plenty of decently priced second hand gems amongst their tucked away selections. They have selections on every genre(even Australian aboriginal music! It is worth noting that they have done a certain level of filtering on their stock you can easily find things you like from your favourite musicians. Worth visiting. Yes, it’s tough out there – these independent traders are so awesome and well informed. They deserve our support!"

"Last night in Oban, my friends and I decided to take a stroll along the waterfront despite the rain. After a while, we couldn't resist the tempting smell of hot chips and decided to grab a quick snack. The staff behind the counter were friendly and shared some information about their business with us. We ended up trying haggis, black pudding, and of course, some chips. Despite the lack of fish, the meal was delicious and the chips were especially good. We noticed a picture of Rick Stein on the wall praising the fish and chips, so we knew we were in for a treat. We happily ate our snacks as we continued along the waterfront, planning to return for dinner later that evening."
