"I had a wonderful dining experience at a restaurant in Maynooth, located above McMahon's bar. The decor is beautiful and stylish, and the staff were very friendly. I enjoyed a chilled white wine and the Singapore Noodles, which I found delicious. The price is around €20 for the dish, and a glass of flat white coffee came to €37. Overall, it was a lovely evening with friends in a quiet and cozy atmosphere."

"This was my second time visiting Shikumen. The first time I came here, I was very pleased with the quality of the food and service this was why I returned with more people. This time however, I was extremely disappointed. Service was slow, waiters and waitresses seemed less than bothered about taking our order (we had to wait mins to even place our order) and getting food to us on time or at all sometimes. We had to chase at least three times for tea, water. Some dishes that didn't seem to appear at all and when we chased, there was no apology. I don't think I'll be coming here again which is a shame."

"Went as a group of 8 for a family meal when we had visitors. Service was great, we asked for some recommendations for non spicy kid friendly dishes and there were lots. The kids ate well, as did the adults! Food was cooked to order, was all fresh and excellent. Visitors were impressed (especially after having a substandard meal in Chinatown earlier that day). Highlight dish was the recommended fish slices with pickled mustard and vermicelli which came in a large soup bowl for sharing. Tangy, sour, spicy (fresh ginger) yet gentle and comforting. The menu is well worth exploring further on our next visit!"

"We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The ambiance is luxurious, the service exceptional, and the cocktails are sophisticated. While the cocktail menu is quite extensive, we didn’t find anything that caught our fancy, so the bartender crafted a custom cocktail just for us! The drinks are on the pricier side, but everything here is of the highest quality. It's definitely worth a visit."

"An early alert for this experience was when browsing the menu on the window outside a staff member came out to invite us in and as the Thai menu seemed familiar we followed. Perhaps this 'fishing for customers ' pays off. You would expect a member of the Thai community at a good Thai restaurant, but the staff at Sawadika appeared to be Indian, with one inconsiderate staff member either staring at his phone or at customers. Though observing customers is natural, a smile would be more welcome than a sneer. When it comes to the food this was poor: there was no broccoli on the vegetarian option "with broccoli ' and the lamb dish was just a lamb shank stuck in a bowl of sauce with very little garnish. Besides this, we would have expected the staff to show their consideration by asking how we were enjoying the meal during the meal, and not afterwards. 'How was that ' is quite poor especially during a quiet service just us and another couple. Be considerate and check during the meal! This leads to the end of the service. A gratuity charge added to the bill is insulting, expecially in such a restaurant and even more so when an extra tip is requested as an option when paying really? So, all in all, the Sawadika can stick their lack of spice and authenticity feeling very cheated, we won 't be back, and I sugggest other potential customers to eat elsewhere in this area; don 't be put off by the Aisan restaurants in this area filled with genuinely happy Asian diners if you see a Chinese customer in a Chinese restaurant, then the food is authentic and in demand... unlike this poor excuse for a Thai restaurant."

"The food at this restaurant was excellent. My partner found her Red Snapper main dish to be a bit too spicy for her liking, but my lamb shank was absolutely delicious. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:30pm on a Saturday and found it to be very quiet. However, it started to get busier around 7:30pm and 8:00pm. The staff were extremely polite and attentive. Our food arrived quite quickly, possibly because it was so quiet and they could get the orders out promptly. The serving staff may want to be cautious about not making customers feel rushed."

"We discovered this bar while searching for a spot to grab a quick drink before dinner during the week leading up to Christmas. It’s conveniently located just off the bustling Royal Mile, making it a pleasant choice for us. Overall, the drink selection was impressive, and the staff were polite and attentive. Unfortunately, we couldn't have dinner here as it was fully booked, but we saw plenty of groups arriving and leaving. It looks like a lovely restaurant, so we definitely plan to give it a try on our next visit to Edinburgh."

"excellent service. very personal service by the recipeist and restaurant nafiza, which was efficient and friendly. the food was super, fresh and well cooked. the restaurant and the bar and other facilities are excellent. the ground for 3 stars for ambiente, however, is the restaurant lighting too bright and there should be background music. the conversation with others was very audible. Low-level music helps mask talks and more so forces people to talk calmer. the lighting did not help as it was at full brightness level, so it was not relaxed and other guests thought they were at home and talked very loud. I hope that this can be fixed, as this is very slight excitement, but the restaurant will transform. we are coming back to the final."

"The reception is located on the ground floor was unattended so we had a flight to the bar where the staff seemed surprised to see customers. After we finally sit, the service was acceptable, but certainly not calculated up to the prices. The menu is very limited. Only seven nets, one of which was fish and chips... hardly our idea of fine dinning. The lobster and steak were wildly overpriced. Nothing we had was bad, but nothing was really good, given the prices. All in all, one of the least unforgettable meals we had in Edinburgh for over a week. Given all the good choices in the old town, I would not suggest Victor Carina Continis Cannonball Restaurant."

"The staff at this restaurant were exceptionally friendly, striking the perfect balance between being attentive and not overly intrusive. One server in particular engaged in playful banter with us, adding a fun element to our dining experience. The service was friendly, helpful, and polite throughout. As for the food, it was truly spectacular. We opted for the set menu and were impressed by the amazing flavors and perfect portion sizes. Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience and can't recommend this place enough."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Plum Valley to celebrate my son's birthday. The food was delicious and the service helpful and friendly. We have been been to Plum Valley before with a Chinese friend so we knew that the restaurant came recommended. My son and his girlfriend have added Plum Valley to their list of their favourite restaurants."

"We were very disappointed with our visit to the Honest Lawyer. We could have complained but didn't want to spoil our evening. It was felt the staff were very inexperienced, the food was tasteless and bland; definitely not the usual food we have eaten here before. The ambiance of the place felt different than before and we really didn't feel welcome. We were a party of 6. 4 of us had the duck and 2 the cod. The duck was very tough and not cooked quite enough, oozing with blood. The cod dish was tasteless and bland. The picture on Facebook of the duck dish was nothing like the dish we were served; we were short of vegetables. It didn't taste like duck but of blood. We would advise using a little more seasoning and ensure the food tastes good before being served. The crushed potatoes were horrible and definitely no seasoning added. All we can say is; the issues are probably caused through badly trained staff and shortages of skilled and experienced hospitality staff probably due to Covid and Brexit. We appreciate that the hospitality industry has been badly affected but it was poor vale for money and not a good experience. Very sad to say we wont be back."

"Popped into the Malt House for a meal on a sunny summers night. The outside garden was buzzing and the Pimms/beer stand outside was a great addition. Beautifully decorated garden with a great atmosphere. We had some delicious cocktails followed by a perfectly cooked steak,...and my partner had an interesting but delightful take on gnocchi. Sticky Toffee pudding for dessert was one of the best I've had. Service from Max was attentive and he went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after throughout our evening. Overall, food and service exceeded our expectations and we will most definitely be returning!"

"We had an excellent experience at this restaurant! The service was outstanding, with staff that were both warm and friendly. The dining area was very comfortable and clean, and the food, wine, and beers were all great. What more could we ask for? Well, we were truly impressed when my partner requested a bottle of Rosé Prosecco. Although the staff informed her that they didn’t have it, the manager personally came to our table to apologize for the oversight. He offered us a bottle of English sparkling rosé as a substitute, and to our surprise, it was provided at no extra charge. This is a perfect example of exceptional customer service—they truly went above and beyond. Will we return? Absolutely! A big thank you to the staff and management for being so welcoming and for making our visit memorable for all the right reasons."

"Overall, this was a pretty mediocre dinner for me. I made a reservation for myself, but the host still put two menus down. This led to the server taking their time thinking I was waiting for someone else when I wasn’t. Very good selection of drinks, however I don’t believe this restaurant believes in seasoning of any kind. Everything was extremely bland, but once I added salt and pepper to my burger it was marginally better. Also, my server was good, but every other staff member I came in contact with seemed annoyed I was there. It also turns into a club around 7 pm, and the music was so loud that everyone started screaming so they could talk to each other. I can confidently say I won’t be the back the next time I am in Manchester."

I can ask them a few drinks while they were a look at the menu fail only when they were ready to ask back. just to find what we wanted was not available, we asked to order drinks while we had to watch the menu again) refuse to brot and butter when it comes to inviting a paying customer to any restaurant. it seems as if they were there, there was an inconvenience to wait the staff. I'll be surprised if this business survives. I wouldn't recommend anyone."
