"When we arrived for our 9:30 reservation, our table was still occupied. However, the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We enjoyed a glass of wine while we waited, and they promptly seated us as soon as we were ready. The ambiance was great, and the staff were fantastic. It would be nice to see a few more vegetarian options on the menu, but overall, we had a lovely evening. Thank you!"

"What a disappointment! Not even the rooftop did them justice. Sorry but how is it possible for promoting this restaurant as fine dinning by requesting a deposit and no show charge of £20 per person when you get there and half of the menu is unavailable! So We went for brunch and since there was no food, we ended up eating a side salad and flatbread! It’s been a total disappointment and my friend was unhappy as well. Heard it like 10 times after we left! I’m not going again unless the restaurant management changes or another one comes in! Sorry!!!"

"Very welcoming staff. Service quick and efficient. Good choice of menu. We chose scallops and cod cheek dishes for starters. The former was outstanding, the cod cheeks in coating a little dry but still enjoyable. Both of us had the halibut dish as mains with sides of greens and Comber potatoes. Absolutely first rate. The bean cassoulet and asparagus were perfect accompaniments. Only minor criticism was the deep, small bowl the course was served in. It made it hard to eat the food easily. The desserts we chose were pear tartin and the chocolate fondant special. Again first rate dishes. The young chef, Peepa, in charge of the desserts should be congratulated for creating such wonderful dishes. The fondant was one of the best I have ever tasted. Overall a superb meal at a reasonable price."

"Our first visit after a friends suggestion and we will be going again. All the staff were friendly and polite, with a special mention to Matt G who was our main server. He was fully knowledgeable about the menu and made sure everything was fully to our liking. Three of us dined and 2 had special dietary needs,This was fully indicated on the menu and the choice was certainly not limited. Food arrived hot,freshly cooked and in a timely manner. At no point did we feel that were were either waiting for food or being rushed through courses. Nothing was too much trouble and this really does make a pleasant change nowadays when dining anywhere. We were all very happy with the food and service we received and would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting good food, good service in a lovely location."

"Great food, a bad service. After having eaten and eaten several times in the last 10 years, I have to admit that I was very disappointed. Food was good, but service from beginning to end was not great. Deep lights as follows, completely forget a part of my wife's order, forget a part of my order and delivered 3/4's way through the meal. Had to ask two separate waiting staff for drinks. Answer to the question about horse sauce with my roast beef was a shrug form of waiters (also got it). No staff gave us salt and pepper and after waiting for 5 minutes had to go and some of other tables (dry). Finally, after paying £100 for meal (2 adults and 2 children . My wife and children (not me, where charged in the parking lot and said that they should not park in the hotel parking place if we did not have the hotel that I left the employees (I assume that employees, but unsafe, as in painting overall know that we just ate in the hotel have no excuse (and fair to be out of the hotel, except to see that he would go out! Would you just say our experience of other people who have a drink 'good food, bad advice '"

"I came here for my 40th Birthday with mum and sister. It was absolutely lovely. The staff were accommodating and friendly. The menu was great, as was the food. They cater very well for allergies and intolerances. My mum said the fish pie was the best she ever had! We live in Bristol but would make the journey to come again."

"We booked The Anglers Arms last minute before NYD and all of us were so incredibly impressed with everything. Everything from the service as soon as we walked through the door, the attentive staff and the gorgeous food, there’s something for everyone even on Sundays. Despite it being busy, it was still a calm atmosphere with brilliant lighting and it was immaculately clean. All 5 of us can’t wait to come back already!"

"The service was very poor. A simple request to have papadums straight away whilst we selected the rest of our order was refused, as it is more convenient for the staff to enter the whole order at once. How hard can it be to add the papadums in, once the full order is taken? Who are we there to please, the customers or the waiters? Then we were expected to eat our main course with the same dirty plates and cutlery as the starters, all covered in chutneys which would spoil the flavour of the main course. The slightly rude waiter said he was willing to give us new plates (though he didn't sound very happy about it) but we must keep our dirty knives and forks. Making us feel like we were serving him! It's not cheap, either. That kind of attitude might be got away with in a cheap cafe, but this is not right. In fact, even the cheapest workmen's cafes serving egg and chips always offer fresh cutlery for each course. Also the music level was too high. We asked for it to be turned down but it was still too high and so we could not hear ourselves. The proprietors seem to think a good restaurant is a loud, noisy restaurant! Not true. The food itself was very good, but I would hesitate to come back as everything else was just...wrong."

We had the soup to start followed by risotto, sirloin steak, and mussels. The soup was delicious, and the steak was beautifully cooked. "Unfortunately our meal was cancelled at on the day our meal was booked, due to a gas leak on the premises. The restaurant rang us up and said we could be moved to their sister restaurant called The Manor. However there was an additional charge of per person to our original set meal at Milan. As if was so last minute we agreed to be moved to The Manor. I have been to The Manor previously and I really enjoyed the food there. We went to The Manor expecting great things. When we arrived nobody same over to us to greet us or check who we were? So I spoke to one of the waiters who appeared quite busy but he did listen to me when I told him we had arrived for a booking at and we were originally booked with Milan in West Kirby. We were told to take a seat and wait for someone to come over. It did not feel like our presence was very welcome at this point. We were given menus to browse and our drinks order was taken. Finally we sat down about The food was very nice at The Manor, but the service from one of the male waiters was not very attentive. Both my friends were a bit upset by the way he spoke to them. I tried not to get too unsettled by it all and made light of it. It would be nice to attend Milan soon as I do prefer the service there and the food is usually splendid."

"The service at this restaurant was terrible with no organization. It was the first time I have ever left a restaurant. While this restaurant seemed like it had everything in place, in reality it was a disaster. We waited 20 minutes just to receive a menu, then placed our order only to wait another 45 minutes with still no food. Despite asking three different staff members, we still had no luck after an additional 30 minutes. There was no organization or communication among the staff. In the end, we left without even getting any food. On the bright side, the music was really good. I hope they improve their organization and consider hiring more staff. It's a real shame, and I'm sorry to say this."

"Don't judge a book by its cover.... beautiful building however this establishment is not customer friendly nor focused!! Woah, what an absolute crying shame, what was once a lovely old English pub filled with atmosphere and happy customers has become an incredible let down of an experiance. Visited yesterday (Saturday 12th August) with my incredibly patient partner to enjoy a few drinks and bite to eat. He went to the bar and purchased our drinks, thought it was odd when he eventually returned baring no real ale for himself which he was looking forward to sup on? He mentioned that all the pumps were not working, no alcoholic beverages in bottles and all that was available was soft drinks.... hmmm, I could see the pain upon his face yet being the person of positivity we opted to remain and tempt fate by ordering food. Off to the chaotic bar he went and placed our food order.... nearing an hour later half the order appeared. We waited for the rest of it to appear, to no avail.... we had noted that other diners were receiving other diners orders and confusion provided by staff was prevalent. My partner went to the bar to inquire as to where the rest of the order was only to be greeted with the demand of his receipt to prove payment by the very same member of staff who took the initial food order! Hmmm not impressed!! I went to the bar to seek remedy....more.uhmming and ahhing by the same member of staff who took the food order... full refund provided by a different staff member, no apology. Ironically there were many other diners leaving the pub dissatisfied with service and lack of available beverages and food quality if/when it appeared. There are evidently training issues which need to be addressed Absolutely zero level of customer service and customers comparing complaints quite openly...... Will not be going back unless I learn of new staff and management team... I can confirm, they cannot arrange a p@@s up in a brewery due to lack of alcohol and competence!!"
