"I recently stayed at this restaurant for 3 nights and had an amazing experience. I tried the pork curry on the first night and the Sunday roast with lamb on another night, both of which were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend staying here or stopping by for the amazing food. Thank you to Jazz for the wonderful service! The price per person ranges from £20-30 and I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as a 5. I especially recommend trying the Jamaican Style Spicy Chicken Wings."

"Given a table in the window, felt like goldfish everyone passing by looking in. Food was average not sure the about hype in the press. Ordered Veg karahi, when the order came it was veg korma it was too late to send back after we had taken curry in our plate. It was mentioned at the end when the waiter came to pick up our plates that we were given wrong curry. Albeit the waiter did take the cost of the wrong curry off the bill. Our overall opinion was the food is very average in taste."

"We are a family of four with two teenagers, and we dined at 8 PM. The pub was lively, and the service was cheerful and efficient. We enjoyed tasting local ales. We started with excellent salt and pepper squid, followed by burgers and fish and chips for our main courses. For dessert, we had an amazing “monkey” dessert featuring chocolate brownies that the kids loved. They were captivated by the step terraces leading down to the harbor as the local boats came and went, creating a picturesque sunset. It was a fantastic way to spend the evening. Thank you!"

"After a long walk along the canal, I popped into the Waterwitch on Easter Sunday with the intention of just having a quick coffee. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and the dishes coming out from the kitchen looked so tempting that we decided to order the Sunday roast. The food was wonderful—delicately cooked fresh vegetables, and the meat was incredibly tender. What I appreciated the most was that my roast dinner came with gluten-free Yorkshire pudding, which I had never been offered before. Even better, they could prepare the salted caramel and chocolate brownie gluten-free as well. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and one we look forward to repeating."

"Worst indian takeaway ive ever had, more flavour in a packet of ready salted crisps chicken tasted like it had been stored under the chefs armpit for 3 days, dry chewy and rank although youd probably get more salt from an armpit than any of the food we got. Bland. Peshwari nan, equally terrible Irn bru was good but warm, probably the only thing that kept the chips warm. "Upon entering, it was almost as if it was a shock to see me wanting to grab a table. There was no one that came to greet at the door, instead staff were chilling near the bar and I had to go to them. No eagerness. No drive. It almost felt as if they would rather be anywhere but here... Upon being seated, I was surprised to see that the set menu for dinner was £5 more expensive on the menu than advertised outside...totally things up it did not seem to be much of a deal so we ordered the following which was brought to us with no much explanation: Starters Platter for 2 £20 rolls and calamari were nice. Mains Mama 's Food £18 Pork belly was ok I guess . The broth was delicious. Naughty Roti £16 Prawn curry was ok not amazing. Desserts We weren 't offered desserts and inspired by the staff we couldn 't be asked Drinks We only found out that there were no Vietnamese beers in stock upon ordering it would have been nice to know upon being presented with the menu. That said the Asahi beer was an expensive £6 a bottle though was served chilled and the Malbec at £7 was delicious. Overall £85 Inc sides like rice service charge (which I 'm wondering why I paid) Fair to say that I expected better from this restaurant WOULD IT KILL TO SMILE? Or communicate that you don 't have a certain beer or say what dish you have bought to the table? Maybe it 's complacently due to being the only Vietnamese restaurant in the area. I 'd love to see some competiton...imagine if Pham House from West Hampstead opened up here..."

"My friends and I went to Three Tuns for lunch one day. The menu had a few vegan options including soup of the day, Thai curry, moussaka, and vegan ice cream or sorbet for dessert. I decided to try the curry which had butternut squash, chickpeas, and spinach. It was very mild and just okay. It seemed like something I could easily make at home without much effort. Overall, it was nice to have some vegan options available, although nothing too exciting. I heard they might have a vegan roast on Sundays, so it's best to call ahead to check."

"We celebrated our daughter's birthday at The Farmer's Home and had a fantastic dinner. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. The staff was welcoming and provided excellent service. Despite living near Durley, we hadn't visited in 2 years and wondered why we hadn't returned sooner. We will definitely be coming back as the evening was wonderful. It was great to see a variety of vegetarian options on the menu. I had the vegetarian lasagna, which was beautifully cooked. Highly recommend for vegetarians looking for a tasty meal."

"The man at the desk was lovely and kindly lead up to our table and opened the door to greet us out, but our waiter’s service was poor. He seemed like a nice guy, but never came to check on us until it was the bill time. My fries never arrived despite the waiter saying that “here’s all your food, is there anything else you want”, and when I asked where my chips were he said “they’re on their way”, even though I saw him never go to the kitchen. He didn’t come over for 15 minutes and until he cleared our plates he asked “did your fries ever arrive btw”. Surely, that was his duty during our meal and not several time after we had finished. I’m a waiter myself, so I understand we forget things, but this was forgetting it three times. Once to not put it through, 2. To say they’re on their way and then not follow up, 3. To only notice after clearing and never checking prior. My tacos were also very cold."

"This once great “pub” has become more and more elitist and up itself. I remember the much heralded opening in 2016 as well as giving it a 5-star review and considering it one of the town’s gems. But now, with the place owned independently, it’s trying to position itself as a gastro pub but has entirely lost the pub vibe. Turning-up at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon we’re asked if we’ve booked. Replying that we haven’t, we are told that it’s table service only and they can only squeeze us in to a table outside. So we sit, and we wait. And wait. After 15 minutes with nobody coming out and being told by the trendy young person at the bar that it’s always been table service and it’s every day, we get up and leave. How this place can claim to be first and foremost a pub is misrepresentation. If you want a real pub, there are plenty in HH and the recently opened “Tap” on South Road gives a better choice of beers that rotate more frequently. If you want a decent restaurant, there are better options than the Lockhart, which for the most part hasn’t changed its menu since it opened."

"At the end of October, four of us went to the Strafford Arms for the first time for their Viva Mexico themed night where we were promised Mexican Small Plates, Mexican Cocktails and live music with a mixture of English Spanish songs. The food was exceptional with decent portion sizes (small plates definitely weren’t small! – just how we like them lol), the drinks were lovely (and flowing easily), the live music was heavily English biased but was still nice to have (although a little loud for some). We enjoyed; PULLED LIME TEQUILA CHICKEN (GF) £9 – this was our favourite dish in terms of flavour, could have eaten another plate of this! FULLY LOADED NACHO FRIES (GF) £10 – another fave of ours, wow what a bowlful! Really enjoyed how much was on this plate, definitely filled us up. Didn’t spot the chips underneath all the nachos and toppings at first haha. SHREDDED LAMB SHOULDER EMPANADA, CHILLI SALSA £12 – a nice portion and spicy salsa was good, would have liked a little more filling? CHORIZO, BLACK BEAN CORN SALSA £8 – a nice, refreshing dish Traditional Margaritas – strong salty It was great to see many gluten free options. The service was really good, staff were friendly and food service was speedy. A lovely evening. had by all It was the first time we’d been to this cosy, country pub and I would return to try more of their food."

"Everyone I know who had eaten there said it was expensive but worth every dime. Having had great expectations of the place, this evening had been utter disappointment. For this price, I expect good service and decent food. When we walked in, the member of staff didn't offer a smile and just showed us to our place. The starters were good (calamari and prawns), but the main weren't great. The duck breast was chewy, not tender; the fish was dry, needed more sauce; lobster linguine was okay I guess? I was still hungry and wanted dessert, but after the disappointing meal I didn't want to waste more money on more disappointment. Took forever to pay our bill as staff always seemed to be elsewhere. Bill was a ridiculous amount; there are at least a few restaurants in mind that have better food, better service and better atmosphere for half that price! Won't be going there again"
