"The Blue Bicycle came recommended by a friend in work. I took my Son and Mum for lunch, the cafe is located in the centre of Neston. Free parking available a short distance away in a nearby carpark. I booked a table in advance which was straight forward and easy enough. We arrived early and our table was ready. The staff where really friendly and chatty. We each opted for a sandwich, I had soup with mine. It was thick, tasty and full of flavour. The sandwiches where all freshly prepared and came with a colourful side salad. We all enjoyed our food, a really lovely cafe to drop by for lunch. The cakes looked yummy, maybe next time as I'd promised my son an ice cream at Parkgate, which was about a 20 minute walk away"

"Having stopped in Bourton on the Water and thought I would grab something to eat to save sorting something out later that evening. Having a quick scan on Tripadvisor I thought I would give Smiths a try. Entering I was given a choice of table so opted for one by the window to watch the world go by! I ordered the Smiths Classic Burger, Truffle and Parmesan Fries and thought I would give the Limoncello Spritz a try. Some reviews on here say that there is a wait for the food to arrive and yes there is and to me that is a good thing. If you have to wait it means that the food you have ordered is cooked freshly for you. The burger was well cooked and flavoursome with just the right amount of extras inside to make it something easy to pick up and eat. The truffle and parmesan fries again were very flavoursome. The Limoncello Spritz has a bold claim on the menu in saying that they make Limoncello better than the Italians but to me personally Sorrento Limoncello is superior but Smiths Spritz is still very drinkable. Family run and friendly had a nice conversation with Seb about other places locally to visit and with mum (sorry I didn’t catch your name) about how they came to Bourton and the history of the tea room to burger restaurant change. Yes there is a service charge, yes the mention it when paying and ask if that is ok. To me yes that is fine. Visit other restaurants (not cafes or fast food) and you’ll find that they also charge a service charge. Maybe it should be printed on the menu, maybe it shouldn’t. Everyone has their own opinion. Would I go back again? Would I go with friends? The answer to both of these questions is……. Yes without a doubt!"

"While not mind blowing, there are some decent options for vegans, and much better than the after thought type dishes you get at some other places. Vegan options include tofish and chips (great for beach location), vegan burger (mock meat style patty), and sweet potato falafel! The weird curved cut chips are fun. Place can sometimes get a bit busy. Is dog friendly which makes it convenient as a lunch stop during a dog walk. Service has always been good. Prices a bit on the high side."

"I buy a house in marlow and decided to give this place a try. I have eaten several paintings in the hand and flowers over the years and even the big ones met a few times. I decided to give this as Tuesday dinner. to make an attempt. it was empty, so sat at the bar. It was very confusing when four different people tried to be my waitress/wacherin and to fall over themselves with repeated questions. I ordered a great joy of crying. then I put my job for burger and fries, which the waiter asked if this was all, and I said yes, I saved myself for the banans dessert. then he began to persuade me to buy more items and take them away to eat bizarre tonight, but I ignored! the burger came in a “wrapper” all very mcdonalds takeaway on a tablet. I asked for ketchup and salt. the burger was nice and the chips good, but the bungalow was very, very soggy. the waiter asked how it was, and I just asked if the wrap is part of the cooking process when I was seized why the bungalow was not roasted? then he went on to explain how the wrapper is amazing to keep the heat in and went on to educate me as he takes the burger away and to his house in reading after the work and they are still hot! I am in a restaurant that has a belonging to michelin and a child lecturing me on takeaway food he gets free or on a discount! service was terrible and I stayed hanging for 15 minutes after my plate was deleted and finally the attention someone to order the banana cheesecake and coffee. what came was a one-way cup with cheesecake cream, biscuit and dried bananas on! I rejected it and asked for the bill. the managerin was extremely rude and with em and I went out that the experience was a total sweat. I later called by phone to discuss the above mentioned and ended with the same miserable woman who showed me to my chair and was rude with the bill. essentially there is a reason why this place seems to be empty when so many other places were bought in marlow city center on Tuesday. I will not waste my time at this place again, I was made to feel very involuntary and eating is filthy. I think it will soon be closed and reopened with a new concept because this does not deliver."

"We were visiting the lakes on holiday with friends and decided to book lunch as a meeting point. Myself my husband arrived first and were given a lovely table on the veranda overlooking the lake. There was a speedboat taking people out in rings on the lake which was fun to watch. Our friends were held up by traffic and were almost an hour late, but the staff were so friendly and chilled and we weren't rushed. Service was at the table and it was prompt, professional, but friendly... Once our friends arrived we all ordered sandwiches with chips and the food was fabulous, I particularly enjoyed my salmon sandwich, the portion was great value. We stopped by again just for drinks over the same weekend and sat down on the decking right on the water which was also great. I would absolutely recommend coming here if you're visiting the area, but book if you want food as It's not a huge restaurant and i noticed most of the tables were reserved."

"This was my first time at this restaurant and I will not be returning. The portion sizes are small and for the high prices, I would rather eat elsewhere."

"The black lion is a nice pub on Chiswick mall that has a large garden, offering outdoor dinning and drinks. Their Sunday roast was really generous in portions and tasted well. There are lots of seating areas and is very animal friendly. We had the the roast beef, Sunday roast pork and lamb shank. Their chicken was sold out. All went down well in the cauliflower cheese. All came with huge portions of sides! June 24 Came back again and it was great. We booked out the Orangery for a small gathering of around 40 people for a sunday roast. The team was great and very helpful. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a nice space for lunch or dinner with a large group! Thanks Jola!"

"We booked to come for our first anniversary based on a recommendation from others. Upon arrival were very disappointed to see only 2 vegetarian dishes available (one containing peanuts) however the owner was more than happy to explain the reasons why this is the case and even offered an additional meal that could be vegetarian, which was amazing. The drinks were absolutely spot on and the treacle bread was absolutely to die for. The owner even explained how he makes it and the process for it as well as bringing out his 3kg tub of product ready to be made. This alone was an unbelievable touch and we really appreciated the personal touch from him and the waitress as well, both were so happy to talk about the food; it is something you don't get in just any restaurant. Thank you so much for this. When the food came out (it didn't take long at all) it was absolutely outstanding. From the presentation to the flavours it was just everything we would have hoped for. Both dishes were superb. The puddings were also amazingly presented and were clearly made with love and care and not just frozen foods microwaved. The Baked Alaska was unreal! That takes some skill. The service was top notch and personable and we both found conversations with staff and owner to be really genuinely great and felt welcomed and valued. They even allowed us to have a different dessert off menu and barely charged us for it, which was just brilliant. Value for money is excellent when you compare to other similar places and found the overall cost to be exactly what we would expect. Blown away by this place and will come back again very soon!"

"Bella Italia has a vegan/veggie menu that is quite small, but you can also request some items on their main menu to be veganized. The starter had a lot of reverence, but I felt I could do with more than one piece of Crostini when I was left with a lot of reverence. I felt like the service was impeccable, as it was no trouble for me to explore different options, and our server made sure that I didn't feel different from other people order their meals. The pleasant experience I had at the Middlebrook restaurant was so good that I went back with my children a few weeks later. Recommend the vegan Carbonara! Edit; as I have left this review, they have now expanded their vegan series even more, I am so impressed and the food is delicious, a meal with my non vegan family so easy and made a beautiful experience. "I first came across Lush Bar Restaurant in Barnstaple during a holiday in October 2022. I had tried to quickly research somewhere that did a tasty Sunday roast and also allowed dogs and this place came up had decent reviews. On that first visit last year, I stopped by and asked if a table was available and was quickly accommodated at a large table inside near the window. I was clearly lucky on that day with there being a spare table. I ordered their vegetarian roast which came with the usual trimmings (roast potatoes, root vegetables and a large Yorkshire Pudding and extras to include green beans, cabbage and a generous portion of cauliflower cheese. As I am holiday again in the area, I had decided I would like to re visit and have Sunday roast here considering it was still offered. I popped in 2 days earlier to make a booking and was advised to book online and requested the lower bar area as this is the section that allows dog. I arrived 5 10 mins early today as like to be on time and was told there were no tables free despite having just accommodated another table of 2 with a dog in that section (they had not booked). I explained once again that I had booked the lower bar area and was happy to wait for the time slot booked, the front of house lady checked my booking details and asked me to wait. I saw her asking another table of 2 to move to the restaurant area so that I could be given their table which was in the section I had booked. Therefore the initial experience on this repeat visit was not ideal or friendly service from front of house lady. I ordered the veggie roast again which I enjoyed but not as much as last time. The actual nut roast lacked flavour, the potatoes was over done and not as soft inside, less veggie gravy provided (probably could have tried to ask for me) and reduced portion size for the cauliflower cheese. This is clear from the photos from last years visit when compared to today. On this visit I also stayed for a dessert and chose the Lush brownie this was a nice choice and was not only well presented but tasty. Getting the bill today required having to ask twice so service was not ideal today but would still consider choosing Lush next time. I think customers who have booked should not be left feeling they are being turned away."

"Have been several times and it has always been excellent overall. However this Sunday lunch today was rather underwhelming something was missing and I’m not sure what it was, have they become a victim of their own success like so many good, new, eateries? The starters were tasty but not at the level of previous visits, same for mains too. Our main courses of half pot roasted pheasant were very tough they should’ve melted in the mouth if roasted slowly which clearly they were not. With hindsight we should’ve rejected them and chosen another dish, but with friends joining us for a birthday meal it would’ve held up their main courses. I mentioned this twice to different staff members who asked, but with not much comment but, that ‘they’d relay it to the chef.’ Puddings, again, were not as good as previously ‘heavy ginger sponge’ (my wife’s comment) and a very sweet cows curd and honey glazed walnuts concoction that I had. Was is just because of Sunday service, was the chef ‘off’ his game or was it a sous chef standing in?? Is it really too much to ask of a bill for £260.00? Disappointing."

"I had an amazing dining experience at The Green Man! I was looking for a place to eat with friends while on the road and stumbled upon this gem. The interior is gorgeous and we were warmly welcomed with a big smile. We had the option to choose where to sit, as it was a quieter time of day. The food was so delicious that we ended up having three courses! It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The old pub had a comfortable and cozy atmosphere, beautifully decorated. The owner, who served us, was so accommodating of our dietary requirements and was incredibly lovely and interesting. We tried to tip her but she refused, insisting it go to her staff who she was very proud of. It was heartwarming to hear about what a wonderful team they were. Thank you for a great experience! Kudos to the chef! You have definitely made it to our list of favorites."

"Bank Holiday Monday in Stamford. Most places are shut, and the town is a lot quiter than usual... My wife is MADLY hungry, and insists we choose somewhere QUICKLY (this isn 't a request! , so we head into the very first place we come across No1 Kitchen. We 'd glanced at the menu on the way in, but our only real concern was that it was open, and it had food. A very friendly waitress showed us to our table, in a lovely corner spot, and I availed myself of the facilities, which were spacious and pristinely clean (something of a 'yardstick ' for us in terms of a well looked after restaurant... The waitress was soon back for our drinks order, and once she 'd delivered our Cokes we went for the Hot and Spicy Burger, with twisty fries, and a Mediterranean Lamb Burger, with corn on the cob. This too arrived promptly, with various Heinz condiments, and everything was hot and fresh! Both burgers were utterly SPLENDID, and we agreed they were The Real Thing, and particulary suited to discerning adults. There were PLENTY of twisty fries, which were crispy, well presented, and nicely seasoned. The burgers were deceptively filling, and my wife couldn 't quite manage hers, but even whilst eating we were planning our next visit, to try out other burger options. Overall, this was nothing short of a Perfect Lunchtime Visit, and we 'd enthusiastically recommend it to other burger lovers! Even if I tried my hardest, there was absolutely NOTHING to fault about this gorgeous restaurant, and we 're amazed to have never seen/visited before. It won 't be long before we put this right..."

"Almost hidden away in Hammersmith's Black Lion Lane The Carpenter's Arms clearly has a reputation, to judge by how busy it was for a summer Sunday lunch......with the added attraction in good weather of one's being to sit in the garden area outdoors. A magnet for families, certainly, though a downside might be the consequent and unabated noise. The changing menu offers well-prepared and flavourful staple dishes, a hearty Sunday roast of slow-cooked pork belly being the focus of my own visit. Plates arrive loaded, my own dressed with a crowd of accompanying vegetable roasts including a carrot that had clearly vied for best place. If I say that the restaurant was busy then service, no matter how friendly, was certainly slow. Compared to prices charged at pub/restaurants with more pretentious profiles, prices here are relatively modest, and yet appetites are by no means short-changed. Worth a visit."

"Myself and my partner stayed for a weekend break and were met by Jade one of the owners and shown to annex which was beautiful and bed was extremely plush and comfortable. The kitchen area was complete with a fridge full of drinks and local milk. In the evening we dined in the restaurant and it went from being a lovely stay to an amazing one as the food was epic and I could do a separate review for on its own, suffice to say we can’t remember having a soup that was smoother and fish (Stone Bass) was incredible. There are a couple of walks within a couple of hundred metres that are really picturesque and a farm shop that is only 5-10 minute walk away that does brilliant coffee and has pop up food stalls on a Saturday so you can really have a relaxed time and not need to drive anywhere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning and the new owners have done really well in such a short time."

"The building and dining environment with the open kitchen and vaulted ceiling add to the atmosphere here. Food is good and well priced, service is spot on. They have some good lunch and pre-theatre offers. We opted for a starter of Pate and a Caesar Salad, mains of Mixed Shellfish Platter and Rigatoni Agnello from the main menu, followed by Pistachio Profiteroles, which was a huge portion that I struggled to finish and an Affogato dessert."

"Dining at The Rules on Maiden Lane was an unforgettable experience. From the moment of arrival, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, combining historic charm with modern sophistication. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring every detail was perfect. The menu showcased the best of British cuisine, with a focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Every dish was exquisite, with the venison standing out as particularly tender, flavorful, and expertly presented. The wine list was extensive and thoughtfully curated, offering perfect pairings for each course. The ambiance, with its beautiful decor and rich sense of history, added to the special evening. The Rules is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience that truly captures the essence of London's dining scene. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a top-tier culinary adventure."

"Nothing thrilling at all the are better restaurants at this price point. Starters arrived in about 20 mins, our drinks after 40 mins, reason was there were groups of other ppl ordering drinks and I guess they considered them move important. When I made the booking that my wife is pregnant and it’s her birthday. There was no effort made on this point throughout the entire visit. My chicken ballotine was dry as was my wife’s chicken milanese. I came here years back when it was good and busy. Now it’s lame tired and under staffed. Save your money and go elsewhere like the Brooks restaurant or the Victoria, both are close by and will be much better in food and service. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £50–60 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3"

"Warmly welcomed and served promptly and pleasantly after being seated. Our waitress was very helpful and well informed and provided various options/suggestions. Meal was very good and well presented and served promptly. Only issue was we had hoped to have coffee at the end of the meal. This was never offered so we decided to pay up and leave."
