"The atmosphere in the restaurant was hot and uncomfortable, lacking fresh air and air conditioning. We waited over twenty minutes before anyone came to take our order. Incredibly, our appetizers arrived before our drinks. We requested tap water but never received it. We asked for sparkling water and were still left waiting, and only after that did our wine finally arrive. Unfortunately, the wine we ordered wasn’t available, and we received a substitute, but we had to ask for glasses to drink it from.
For the main course, the child's steak was completely overcooked and inedible, so we had to send it back. After some time, we did receive two glasses for our wine, but we had to ask for additional ones. When they finally arrived, the server informed us that they only had two wine glasses available and offered us gin glasses instead.
The salad bar was a mess, with many items either empty or disorganized. When the bill came, there were several mistakes, yet we were still asked to leave a tip. Given the terrible experience we had, we simply couldn’t leave one.
We have been loyal customers of this Harvester (George Inn, Morden) since it opened over 40 years ago, but the service has steadily declined. It really needs to get back to basics, properly train its staff, and hopefully return to the standard it once upheld."
