"The Fox used to be a great pub for really lovely food cooked and presented very well, sadly this has all changed in recent times. We went for a meal for four of us a few weeks ago in early December, the food took nearly 1.5 hours to come out, and was very poor, we even went for a take out afterwards as we were still hungry. Hoping that it was a one off issue, we booked a table of 12 for the 17th December (a family Christmas meal), most of the starters had to be sent back, just shocking, dry mushrooms on dry bread, the pate was literally a tea spoon of what was supposed to be pate (we couldn’t tell what it was) and a lump of jelly on the top, and the prawns were 4 prawns with a piece of stale bread! many of us refused to even risk trying a second starter replacement, and the manager even agreed it was shocking! The mains were mostly awful as well, the blade of beef was a small bit of chewy meat mostly fat, and missing all the advertised trimmings beyond a lump of mash! There was too much wrong with it all to even list here. None of us will ever be going back, even though they gave us all 50% off next meal vouchers as a sorry for how bad it all was. Just avoid the Fox now if you want a nice meal, it’s fine for just having a drink."

"I recently returned to London and made the trip to a restaurant across town for a vegan roast. I ordered the Nut Roast and also tried the Beet Wellington, along with the Leek Gratin sides. My favorite was the Beet Wellington, it tasted delicious. The Nut Roast was decent, I would rate it a 3.5-4 out of 5 (it's cooked in a cabbage leaf so it's more of a steamed nut roast). I would suggest a thicker gravy. I recommend trying the sticky toffee pudding over the crumble."

"I don't understand why it's so difficult to find an affordable roast dinner, but this one seemed alright at first. However, when our children wanted an extra slice of chicken and beef, the price increased from the original £10.95 per child's roast to £15.95! Paying that much for just one extra slice of meat seems outrageous. The roast itself was good, but they had run out of gravy so we couldn't have the extra we needed. We also tried a sticky toffee pudding, which was not only reasonably priced but also delicious. When the bill arrived, it said we had ordered 5 pints of beer even though we only had 4. When I questioned it, the lady admitted it was a mistake and took it off the bill. However, she then pointed to the table where there were 3 glasses and accused us of having 5. This was quite rude. The roast was decent, but the staff's attitude was off-putting. It's not worth spending £15.95 per child's roast for just an extra slice of meat. We might have considered returning if the staff had been more pleasant. What a shame."

"This restaurant provides excellent value and healthy food, complemented by a spacious, free parking lot. It features a fun warehouse play area for children, making it an ideal venue for families. If you’re in search of a quieter setting for a drink, there are numerous spots where you can relax in peace. The food is served hot, fresh, and promptly by a professional staff, making it perfect for those times when you're feeling hungry. The children’s play area is well-kept and clean, ensuring a safe space for the little ones. For a night out with friends, you can watch sports on TV, and there are several fruit machines for entertainment. A major advantage of this pub is its convenient location, easily accessible from both the town and main roads, and its spaciousness allows it to accommodate everyone comfortably."

"The courtyard and view at this restaurant are nice, and the waitress Freya was very pleasant. However, the Mexican food here is possibly the worst I have ever tasted. It was awful and tasteless. Additionally, you have to pay £1 for a small amount of salsa that is also tasteless. We ordered four tacos (chicken, pork, beef, and aubergine), a prawn salad, an orange salad, and another meal that I cannot remember. All of the food was disgusting. There are many good restaurants in Edinburgh, so I would recommend avoiding this one. Both of us felt sick after eating here, and if I had the energy, I would have asked to speak to the manager about how bad the food was."

"The food at this restaurant is of excellent quality, the ambiance is pleasant, and the staff is friendly. I have visited before for Sunday lunch and had a great experience. I brought friends last night to celebrate my 60th birthday, and although one of our party is very picky about his steak (I have seen him send it back at many places), he couldn't find any fault with it this time. He not only finished his meal without complaint, but he also didn't leave any leftovers. I would highly recommend this place."

"I went to this restaurant with some friends for lunch and we tried the market menu. There was a good variety of main dishes and desserts to choose from. We especially loved the sticky toffee pudding, it was absolutely delicious. The staff who served us were very friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful conversation with them about the city. We are definitely planning to come back and try their afternoon tea, as it looked excellent based on what we saw at other tables around us."

"We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We went with friends and two young children, but there were no high chairs available despite our booking for two. It seems like they only have two high chairs for the entire restaurant, which is surprising considering how affordable they are at Ikea. As a result, we had to try to enjoy our meal while holding a 16-month-old on our laps. The food itself was very average, with Yorkshire puddings that were overly large. The staff were not rude, but they could have been more friendly and service-oriented. The restaurant does offer reasonable gluten-free options and a good selection of beers, but overall, we will not be returning."

"I recently visited the Grill Room in Edinburgh with my sisters and was completely blown away by the elegant and stunning ambiance. I will definitely make it a point to return every time I'm in Edinburgh. A friend had highly recommended it to me, and I was not disappointed. The staff were incredibly polite and pleasant, making our afternoon dining experience truly delightful. I personally tried the brie and mushroom tart, which was not only visually appealing but also incredibly delicious, served with thick cut chips and salad. My sisters opted for the sparerib and pea risotto and the club sandwich, both of which were equally scrumptious. If you happen to be in the area, I highly recommend paying the Grill Room a visit."

"I had the pleasure of attending The Black Swan in Nazeing for their Halloween Party last Friday. While I didn't have the opportunity to try their food, I found the pub to be a cozy and inviting place. The quick and friendly service was a definite plus, making it an enjoyable experience overall. If you're in the area and looking for a relaxed atmosphere, The Black Swan is worth a visit. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Parking space: Plenty of parking"

"Awful experience Service was dreadful. Staff looked like they didn 't want to be there, and so did the customers! It 's gone so downhill here it used to be such a lovely place for food with friends and family. Don 't know what 's happened but the new manager is clearly useless. Food was inedible, after waiting over an hour! Dirty tables all around us not bring cleaned glasses and plates just left for ages. Won 't be returning and advise anyone at looking to eat here not too!!! Go to the Quays instead, much better!!!"

"I've lived in Gravesend for many years, and we had never tried this restaurant until now. I wish we had done so earlier! It was absolutely amazing. The service was fantastic; our waitress was polite and friendly. The food was even better, with large portions and incredible flavors. The chicken was delicious, and the lamb was cooked to perfection. We can't wait to return soon! Thank you!"
"My partner and I popped in for a Sunday roast a couple of weeks ago (we live an hour and an half away but stopped off on our way back from a night away) and it was honestly THE best roasts we’ve eaten out in a long, long time! The beef was cooked to perfection as was the lamb it was just amazing, we both cleared our plates! Hats off to the chef, I think his name was Peter! The staff were all super friendly, the lady with blonde hair on the bar and waitressing was so helpful, she went completely out of her way to make our visit so enjoyable! The owners were enjoying a Sunday roast too and they were just the loveliest people you’ve done such a good job! We will definitely be back again soon maybe with a stay in one of your rooms next time! You’ve got yourself some new regulars, it’s definitely worth the drive! X"

"Really disappointed with our experience today, granted it was busy but having prebooked, we had to find someone to order food after waiting over an hour, then the food arrives missing parsnips on some plates for roast, also missing stuffing amongst other things, no one came over, so we just got on with it, then found someone and asked for a pudding menu that never arrived, so we ordered at the bar and they had by that time run out of the puddings we wanted, which we only found out after we paid, so they had to refund and then process payment again minus puddings. All of this aside, what really let it down was the service, we are used to excellent service here but lately it has not been good at all, no one took responsibility or apologized, likely won't return sadly. Service: 2"

"THE FALCON IS OPEN!!! The residents of Hinstock Village have pulled together to save The Falcon having successfully applied for an Asset of Community Value. Dogs welcome and a very friendly reception. So proud that the village has a pub again. Price per person: £20–30"

"I dined there with my wife and baby, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The food was amazing! The vegetarian option, chickpea tacos, was out of this world. For dinner, we spent around £20-30 per person. I would rate the food a perfect 5, the service a perfect 5, and the atmosphere a perfect 5 as well. I highly recommend the churros and the chicken tinga."
