"Arrived on time to be sent to the bar for 20 minutes while they prepared a table. Not acceptable with a child. The food was okay but flavour pairings were a little poor. Lipstick on the glasses and left without drinks for the whole main course. The children’s menu was awful, clearly created through necessity and not by someone who cares what children eat. My daughter ordered fish and chips at £9 she couldn’t eat much of it, it was cheap frozen fish and fries….. worlds away from the fish and chips my Mum ordered from the adults menu. It was supposed to be a treat as my daughter is a real foodie but another visit to Shibden Mill will now be my go to threat for bad behaviour. The 10% service charge was already added to the bill which was thoroughly undeserved so paid grudgingly."

"My family took me here for mothers day breakfast. Such a beautiful, cosy country pub. We had a lovely table by the fire and the daffodils on the tables were a nice touch. The food was amazing and the service was brilliant. Coffees were really good and their tea is my favourite. Was a really lovely start to mothers day."

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Petite Coree, and it was an absolute culinary delight. The starters were a perfect introduction to the meal, with a variety of flavorful and beautifully presented options. The mains were nothing short of delicious, with each dish showcasing the authentic flavors of Korean cuisine. And let's not forget about the amazing cocktails they were expertly crafted and perfectly complemented the meal. To top it all off, we indulged in some mouthwatering Korean ice cream that left us wanting more. The combination of great food, fantastic cocktails, and delightful desserts made for an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to savor the best of Korean cuisine."

"my twin brother stepped and I were pub and bare hoping for this part of the city when we decided to fall in brewdog, a wonderful bar that we always look forward to taking on every trip to liverpool city centre. this is a great looking brewdog bar, the main room is from a cool looking servier bar, large decor and decor, neon features that look super and many seating options distributed in this bar both inside and outside on the lively and lively manolis yard colquitt street. we were here on a Friday late afternoon, bar just began to do with a great atmosphere, we ordered at the bar brewdog punk ipa , these were served in excellent condition, we just stepped back, chilled out and planned out the day before, while we were our beer. my ipa was really good, punk ipa is a really good beer, it is a light, hoppy and unpretentious beer, very refreshing especially when served ice cold as in this bar, its one of the brewdogs flagship beer. we really enjoyed our beer here before we went on and although our visit was only fleeting, as with any other visit here we had a great time. brewdog is easy to find along manolis yard/ colquitt street. Monday to Thursday, midday to Friday Saturday, midday to midnight. Sunday, midday to a wonderful bar, one I recommend to visit them when they are in the opposite."

"Three out of four meals were okay,, though not exceptional, and one, the pork belly, very disappointing as it was tough, tasteless, and the mustard mash appeared to be missing the mustard. The starters came promptly and staff were friendly, but we waited at least another 30mins for our mains and had to chase them up as we were heading for a concert that evening. Food was not piping hot as if it had come from the kitchen which led us to believe it had been sitting awhile before coming to the table. The waitress who cleared the table took the negative report back to the kitchen and the offending item was removed from the bill, a positive touch. We did not have time for desert due to the delayed main course. The ambience was lively as expected on a busy Friday, but we’d recommend a table away from the ‘main corridor’ as it was quite draughty on a cold evening."

"Absolutely loved it. Service was fast enough even thought they were really busy. We have booked out table in advance but we had to sit on the bar table right next to window. It was a bit annoying but it wasn't big issue. We ordered Ebi Bites, edamame beans as starter. and we have ordered a selection of sticks scallop, chicken, beef, mushroom. I found the beef one a bit dry but scallop sticks were delicious. For me the start of the day was Ebi Bites. Little cute surprises in your mouth. We also tried some hosomaki's little sushies. they were fresh and so tasty. We had white sweets as a dessert. It was so delicious. Not too sweet. Somehow there was a delicate balance between the flavors. I haven't eaten yuzu curd before and it was worth to try! Popped rice was an interesting one. You should definitely try that. Food comes with nice, stylish plates, trays and bowls. The music at restaurant was a bit loud but it compliments the overall city style."

"This restaurant is very unique and they sell high-grade fresh Norwegian crab, and USA or UK steak by weight. The table seating is communal and at first we were concerned that we wouldn’t appreciate the experience It turns out we had a fantastic experience. The food was some of the best we’ve ever had. But the bill was large. Certainly a great place to try if you’re on an expensive account."

"Was recommended here and shown photos of their meal which was nothing compared to ours it was a cross between a meal in a nursing home or school dinners. We ordered the sirloin, alarm bells should have struck when we weren’t asked how we would like it cooked. Chef was in a tracksuit. Were recommended by the waiter the “feather beef” (never heard of this before) but it was rancid and burnt. It was £96 for two adults and a child and I feel absolutely robbed. The view was ruined by the windows covered in bird poo this could be easily rectified by having the windows cleaned. I actually feel quite angry about the whole meal we made them aware and the waiter was attentive in asking if there was anything he could do or if we had made him aware during the meal he could have rectified it. Not possible. None of it was a La carte or home made the cauliflower cheese was definitely shop bought and microwaved. Would not recommend started to wonder if we’d booked the wrong place the smell alone of the older generation as you go up in the lift is enough to put you off. Bizarre place wouldn’t return."

"My boyfriend and I come here every Christmas. Food never disappoints. However, I am so sad they no longer serve the cookie in a pan dessert as this was the highlight for me. The staff are friendly. Always a lovely atmosphere."

"Omnino meaning all together in Latin serves quality Argentinian meats on a fairly nondescript basement space. Unlike an Argentinian steakhouse that is full of life and charisma, Omnino Steakhouse service, ambience and interior is dull. It is as if the joy of being in an Argentinan steakhouse was removed and replaced with a degree of uprightness. With that said the meat cuts including fillet, sirloin, picaÑa, rump and ribeye cuts are superb. The three cuts ordered for the table were perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. In terms of the sides, the black truffle gnocchi is rich and full of flavour. Highly recommended. The dessert menu is traditional including the usual suspects including dulce de leche cheesecake and Don Pedro, with the alfajores unfortunately not being available. Price wise a cut of meat will start you at £18.95 for an Argentine 250g Rump and top you at £49.00 for the ribeye foie gras. The sides come in at an average of £5.00. The wine list is strong, offering a variety of high quality Argentinian and Chilean options. Omnino is doing everything right in the kitchen. The front of house and ambience is uninspiring and dull. Something to work on and improve, in order to deliver on the promise of all together ."

"Unfortunately we waited very long for our food, which more pampered the experience. at 2.00 we were all quite hungry and we waited for our frying for three quarters of an hour eating at 2.45 that was also not where close to full this time. but when the food finally arrived, it was delicious."

"When we first walked in the staff just didn’t acknowledge us there was no table of 6 available so asked if we could move the table of 2 and table of 4 together as they were next to each other and both free. At first we was told no and then after a bit of explaining we was told we’d have to wait 15 minutes so they could clear the table. There was a tray with a few empty drinks on. 15 mins was up so we all went in and sat down the tray with drinks on was still on the table and the table hadn’t even been wiped. After all getting settled the waitress finally moved the tray and explained they was busy. We ordered drinks and food together. The drinks took 20 minutes to come. I had coke in a bottle and a glass with ice in. My ice was already half melted. Over an hour later our food came out. Burgers were dry. The Mac and cheese was the worst thing I had ever seen. It was like really stodgy porridge and did not taste of cheese at all. Any time we asked the waitress something she just made it seem like we was asking her to go above and beyond for us when really we wasn’t being difficult even in the slightest. At the end we go to pay and they add a 10% service fee without even asking. Why would I want to pay 10% of my nearly £150 bill for a poor and quite disgusting service. The only plus’s side to this place was the decorations, the mayonnaise and the fact they allowed dogs in"

"Chutneys offers a great vegetarian lunch buffet. It is one of a small number of restaurants on Drummond Street doping so, and a fraction cheaper than some of the better known names, but the food is every bit as good and offers excellent value. There's a good selection of cold salads often centred round pulses with warm onion bhajis and roti to start the roti were the only slightly disappointing part of the whole meal as they were a little tough ! . Main dishes includes lentils, chickpeas, mushrooms and cauliflower in distinctive curries, with rice and a good selection of pickles. And there's also dessert with milk jellies and a nice variety of fresh fruit. I had a sparkling lemon and mint drink made to order not from a can it was very nice too, but slightly expensive. But they will just provide you with tap water, and also sell lassis. Note that it's not vegan I heard another diner ask which dishes were, and most were not vegan as many contain yoghurt or ghee. But for vegetarians it's great! Note that the buffet is not served at weekends, I believe."

"The Kite is a charming venue in the heart of Hitchin that has been a family favourite for a number of years. We hired the Marshall room back in 2020 for my baby shower and all our guests were so impressed by the atmosphere, service and the amazing gazing table that when I started looking for a venue for our wedding reception, the Kite was at the top of our list. From the first enquiry Ben was warm, welcoming and showed a real interest in our special day compared to the corporate feel we had experienced elsewhere. Ben was so helpful and guided us through all the options, his attention to detail really helped ensure we had the perfect day. We hired the whole venue, with an intimate wedding breakfast in the Marshall with 30 guests followed by an evening reception with 100 guests in the bar/restaurant and garden area. The venue looked beautiful, the food was delicious as always, especially the grazing table which our guests loved! Everyone commented on how lovely the reception was and that is down to Ben and his team, they could not have done more to help. The service and quality here is just the best."

"Last week, I was invited to dinner at a new restaurant called Aline in Mayfair by PocketHighStreet, and it was without a doubt, the most food I’ve ever eaten in one sitting (and I grew up in Cyprus! I thought I was going to explode on the way home, but it was an incredibly satisfied feeling. As many of you may know, I love a sandwich (I seem to have written quite a few sandwich related posts recently! so when PocketHighStreet told me that Aline specialises in ‘gourmet sandwiches,’ I couldn’t have been more excited."

"We booked here for a team Christmas lunch. A couple of us had been meaning to try The Magnum for ages, so were looking forward to visiting. The Magnum is a nice venue and seemed bigger on the inside than it appeared on outside and is serenely decorated. We were all struggling to pick what to have from the menu as much of it sounded yummy. In the end as we had all eyed up the baked Camembert to share, we got two of those between the four of us. Then I went for the sausage of the day, which was lamb and thyme, another colleague went for tempura battered haddock and the other two went for the beef and rosemary burger. One of my colleagues had dithered on whether to get the burger as she was worried it would be big so asked the waitress for advice. She tried to describe it as best as possible to help her make a decision, which I thought was good service."

"The staff were lovely and could not do more however, there were only 2 staff on and they were very harassed although they their best not to show it. The starter was excellent but The prime burger was very dry with a very sad piece of lettuce and tomatoe on it.. the chips were lukewarm. The dessert was average and we were only offered other drinks quite a while after we had eaten. We decided not to stay for tea and coffee. We used to eat here very regularly and always at Christmas but I don’t think we will be back for quite some time."
