I met my colleagues for a small Christmas gathering. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, staffed by friendly and efficient waitresses and the food was SOOO good. Would genuinely recommend to others. (Note: I drove 50 miles to meet the team and it was totally worth it)

Went for dinner and I was impressed. What an outstanding menu you can see a lot of thought has gone into it. I had the scallops starter, pork loin main and rhubarb trifle. Superbly cooked food and so beautifully presented. Relaxing ambience, service excellent and staff so welcoming.

kite at the red hard brings something fresh and new to hitchin at a place we all know and love. the history of pubs tom and ben have carefully cured the interiors, cocktails and menus to breathe some magie in the pub. the menu is excellent and know that the ingredients are local, some only as far as the kitchen garden really helps! We held our daughter's Christening here last weekend and it could not have been more perfect. The food (grazing table) was incredible and the staff so friendly and helpful. The room was set up perfectly for the day and everything was made so easy for us from arranging, to setting up, to the day itself, and even packing up! We could not be happier and will definitely be holding more gatherings here. Highly recommend!

we had a wonderful celebrity here with family and friends. the design is simple, but stylish and it is clear that great attention has been given to the detail. it was a very hot day, but we were cool and comfortable. jugs of a delicious fresh fruit drink were on the table when we arrived. all employees were welcoming and absolutely charming. eating in this case was an afternoon and afternoon tea combination absolutely excellent. my two highlights were the ochsenkrokettes and the salted caramel cake that really presented the talents of the chef matthew long. The Kite is a charming venue in the heart of Hitchin that has been a family favourite for a number of years. We hired the Marshall room back in 2020 for my baby shower and all our guests were so impressed by the atmosphere, service and the amazing gazing table that when I started looking for a venue for our wedding reception, the Kite was at the top of our list.
