"We had my Surprise 50th Birthday at Capri everything was perfect from start to finish. We had a set menu with a couple of changes for vegetarian and non fish eater , prawn cocktail , white bait and scampi with 2 mini brushetta for starters , garlic breads, followed by a pasta course ravioli and penne with Sardinian sausage , followed by pork chop , steak and chicken and tiramisu . All guests were so impressed and very full . The restaurant had been decorated beautiful with so much thought , the staff were so professional and friendly and took good care of us . I wouldn't hesitate to visit again as a couple or for our next family celebration Thankyou so much Jess and Jess"

"we came to whitehaven restaurant on Saturday, as family of four, and my older daughter, in the age of 12 is probably best described as food phobia. it has a very limited number of means of life that it will eat and everything that is unfamiliar is almost impossible for them to eat. with this very limited diet she loved margarita pizza, but fights with the tomato sauce when it is lumpy. She tries hard as she knows that her eating is disturbing for everyone, but she hasn't in the position, much progressed in the last 10 years since this beginning. at this opportunity she tried to eat the margarita pizza she had ordered, but it found difficult because the tomato sauce was a little too clumpy for her. we noticed and tried discreetly how she could wrap the meal when the waiter came by and so sensitively talked to us to find out if there was a problem. she wouldn't answer when she could say that my daughter was uncomfortable. when we explained the situation, she spoke directly with my daughter and asked her exactly how they like her pizza and they resurrected that she was perfect in her right to ask for the food as she wanted it. then she returned to the kitchen and a short time later she brought a pizza with much less tomato for my daughter. to live in ten years with this eating problem as a family, this is the first time that our situation has been treated with such sensibility and helpfulness. not only that, but eating was delicious! we are just sorry that we are only on vacation in the opposite direction, otherwise we would eat here all the time. this is undoubtedly the best service we have ever received anywhere in any restaurant."

"My family visited this restaurant today to celebrate our anniversary. It was myself, my husband, our 1-year-old son, and our small dog. The atmosphere was delightful, everything was clean, and the food was absolutely delicious. Our server, Amy, was fantastic and deserves recognition for her excellent service. Our son's fish fingers were generously sized and well worth the price, with excellent quality fish and perfectly cooked batter. I ordered the scampi and prawns, which were absolute perfection. My husband enjoyed the dressed crab dish with no complaints. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and its staff."

"We have now been here for two visits since a very average lunch a couple of years ago. I cannot speak highly enough of the management who were gracious and kind in the resolution of our previous issue. The dining room is now very well laid out and we had a great table by the window, overlooking excited trick or treating visitors. It was cosy, beautifully lit and very clean. Our service was friendly and welcoming throughout. The menu is diverse and meets dietary needs well. The food was served quickly and portion size was very good. The children enjoyed the activity sheet and we had clean plates all round. I am very glad to see the hard work and conscientiousness of Jess and her team paying off. We will certainly be back."

"My Partner and I were staying in the hotel just up the road and were in the area for Crufts. I came across the reviews of this pub on faebook and on here and we thought we would try it. We arrived at on...Saturday after to an empty pub so the owners were able to find us a table, having said that all tables were booked for later in the day so the locals obviously book in advance. The staff on duty (two gentlemen) were very friendly and welcoming. The menu is available online and i did have a peek on iur journey down but couldnt make my mind up... we started with a shared cheese garlic bread which was amazing the cheese was delicious, i went with the chicken fajitas which were amazing, only two which you made up but two was more than enough this was due to the side salad and the hot chicken stir fry type filling which tasted amazing. My partner has the chicken and steak peppercorn with chips and he fully enjoyed it. The portion sizes are brilliant and at excellent prices. Same for the drinks prices. The decor is lovely in the pub and it is very clean and well kept. We fully recommend and will definately return next year."

"If I could put 0 starts I would. I must admit we were a table of 12 on Christmas eve , the restaurant wasn't full so can't blame that. So we all got a starters within 20 minutes nothing wrong up to now. Then they cleared the starters and we were waiting for our mains . After 10 minutes of waiting the waiter came up and checked if our mains order was correct which they should have done when they took the order in the first place . The mains then took 50 minutes to arrive at the table or half of them atleast . One of the calzones had to be sent back as it were stone cold the middle. The other half arrived 20 minutes after the first lot by that time some people had finished there mains as they were going cold in front of them. Most of my guests did not have good things to say about their meals the ones that arrived hot and on time . Overall a terrible experience topped off the upstairs room we were sat in being cold and gloomy . Would not recommend to my worst enemies and will never be back."

Everything was Cooked Fresh and Tasted Fantastic Bruschetta was Excellent! I have No Complaints on the Food, It is Delicous. It is Not the Best I have Experienced but it is the Best in Boston. Both The starters and the Mains came to Our table rather Quickly which was Brilliant, The Desert took just over 20 Minutes. The Staff also had Superb service, Extremely polite, friendly and Truly Dedicated in making your Experience as Pleasant as Possible. Aside from the Slight mishap With the Wine The waitress seemed very Nervous on that Night Bless her, It was very busy She helped clean us Up after and Still kept her Professionalism! "I was visiting my daughter for her birthday, 3 of us in total. Wasn't very busy at all. Ordered the feast for 4. Had to ask for cutlery, which didn't turn up, got it off near by tables. The manager nearly dropped the pizza on my daughters lap, pizza was luke warm. Plates weren't brought out, had to ask for them. Salad bar was dirty and needed filling and wasn't filled at all during our two hour visit. Tables weren't cleaned as guests left. The restaurant had the air conditioning on and was freezing. As part of the deal, we got desserts, our server asked if we'd ordered them, we said yes, 15 minutes later they turned up and by this time we were the only ones in the restaurant. Certainly won't be recommending it to friends and family and we won't return again."

"The prices are expensive, but the quality of the pizza does not justify the cost. I have had better pizzas from the frozen food section of the supermarket. The pizza crust tastes pre-made and the toppings seem to be straight from bulk packaging. I was unsure if the toppings had even been removed from the plastic bag before being placed on the pizza. I would recommend avoiding this place."

"we say we should visit osteria for a few years, and in the run this year we have now visited some. seek a jewel of a place and always a pleasure to eat here. the atmosphere is so relaxed...and pleasant. the whole staff is on fast courtesy and courteous, not too fussy. eating is simply amazing. we dinate with some traditional and chains Italian, and that is really one of the best. eating is always amazing, piping hot and the portions are very generous. our last visit at the weekend, we tried to tell the calzones that this was the best we ever had. the Marinara sauce is to die, the pizza dough is really light and so did not feel excessively filled after eating only pleasantly full. (the chains never seem to work as it gets hot through all the way away and come cold in the middle but here, point on) I feel that we are here quite regular, although not immediately local, so pleasant."

"I have always been a fan of Peppes and my family and I usually choose to have our meals there because it is always amazing; the service, the food, the cozy atmosphere. However, tonight exceeded my expectations. I can honestly say that the pizza I had tonight was the best I've had since my trip to Rome a couple of years ago, and possibly the best pizza I've had in England in a long time. The ribs were smothered in a delicious sauce, and the generous portion of cannelloni was devoured right in front of me. "This is a very quaint setup of a cafe/chippy/ice cream shop that is quite pretty and nostalgic at the same time. At the mai entrance its a lovely bright cafe serving more than chipshop food in a more refined cafe room. To the side is a small alley leading to an entrance to the same shop but a separste area where you can order your fish n chips or Ice cream to go. I grew up on the east coast and have seen this in a few shops in coastal towns and villages. Nowhere else in my extensive travels. I had a very large double scoop wafer cone served by a very polite young lady to take down to the Shakkin brig just along the road and down a fairly steep track to the riverside. Perfect. Parking: Just a few spots on the main street. Worth driving down a bit. Wheelchair accessibility: The main door is accessible."
