"Went last night for our wedding anniversary. From start to finish we both loved the night. Waiter was friendly and funny/chatty, both meals were perfect without any issues and drinks came out straight away. Restaurant was near fully booked so glad we booked ahead as we did see a few couple arrive later and we think we turned away due to lack of tables. The sign of any good place is a customer returning and we noticed a number of tables speaking to the staff about what they had last time as well as stating they'd see them again soon. Also on this groups who couldn't sit in opted to eat outside just so to have a meal. We will be going back again for sure."

Stopped here on our boat and had a very nice lunch with a few friends. Staff were lovely and prices reasonable. Now stopped several times and staff and food are still excellent. It has now become a regular stop for us.

I'm never disappointed when I visit Rose and Castle . It's become my go-to place , even though it's really local. The food is so much better than the food churned out by the chain pubs. Also, the gluten-free menu is much better . View menu

Met a friend there for lunch. Two men had ham, eggs and chips. I had a burger with bacon and goats cheese. Two of us had thin chips but one had chunky chips which he said were the best chips that he had ever had. All food was excellent, service good and meal arrived quickly.

Went for Sunday lunch which wasn't great tbh. Had to return the beef as could hardly cut it let alone chew it. Replaced no problem with turkey which was OK. Cauliflower cheese tasted and looked very much like came straight from freezer and at just shy of a fiver! Sticky toffee pudding was cold but soup sponge was very nice. Service was OK but wouldn't go back I'm afraid.
