"During a day trip to Matlock, we stumbled upon Viva Italian. We didn't have a reservation, but they were able to accommodate us. The restaurant had a lovely ambiance, with friendly and helpful staff. The food was exceptional, with delicious flavors and beautiful presentation. We will definitely be returning, but next time we will make sure to book in advance so we don't miss out."

"This is a really cool little pizza place! The food for me, my wife and little girl came to just over 30£! Little one had the kids menu which was fab, her pizza came straight away with her vege sticks and humus! Our came a normal time after as was a busy Sunday afternoon! Space to fit the pram in as well! Pizzas were fab with one Ty of house sauce! Staff were helpful and friendly, will be back soon! Keep up the good work! Food: 5"

"Lasagna was dry as though it was frozen, microwave defrosted and grilled at the end. £2.95 small glass of coke. Music too loud and not relevant to an Italian restaurant. Had to place order 3 days in advance. Limited parking, so have to park on the street inbetween peoples driveways. They seem to have 3 buckets of base sauces used to top steaks and mix into pastas. This is why we don’t eat out anymore."

"This review is not aimed directly at the serving staff in the restaurant. However there is a clear problem with the relatively new management in this branch. Firstly, the restaurant no longer let you bring pushchairs to the tables. With young babies under 1, this is totally inconvenient and not really acceptable. The manager is clear to highlight what you cannot do, but does not help or suggest what the solution is. They further inhibit and prevent proper wheelchair or pushchair access by only opening one panel of the glass front door and get huffy if you ask them to open it up fully. It's a passive way of basically saying we're no longer child friendly, or at least to those in wheelchairs. The restaurant expect you to leave pushchairs in the entrance area which is exposed and open to the street and left unattended so could leave open to theft. The second problem and new change, is that in order to boost sales, they have put too many tables in the restaurant. Tables too close together which is uncomfortable. At the back, there is a ramped walkway to the rear seating area. They've crammed so many tables in, if you get the cheap seats near this ramp, you basically get knocked by any customer or member of waiting staff as they pass you. Overall will now avoid this branch which is disappointing as it's our local."

"we went in carlisle to the birthday dinner of my sohnes after pizza express. it is clean and well designed and the staff was happy courtesy and efficient. eating was really nice and perfectly cooked. our waitress was beautiful and doesn't talk much time with our two children especially the oldest as it was his birthday. the children's activity packs both held children for the whole time we were in the restaurant and they were different from those we were given a few weeks ago at our last visit. the only negative (and they are both quite small), the seat that we were given was right next to the door and every time it was opened there was a really cold air bubble. the second negatiw was the volume of the music. Usually it is s beautiful background level, but from some reason it was really loud on this particular day. I don't know if it was a day off while we were a weekday each time. it made me the dinge difficult, as I wear a hearing device and too many background noises, it is very difficult for me to focus on conversations. overall we had a nice time and the birthday boy enjoyed very much."

"Perfect for lunch. Well priced, uses high quality ingredients with tons of vegan options. I’d highly recommend the vegan pizza slices, they have lots of different topics (including vegan sausage) and the vegan cheese they use melts really well. They do vegan panini and toasties , though last time I went they weren’t serving them. I hope this was a one off as their vegan paninis are amazing! Stuffed ciabattas with vegan mozerella and lots of options! I love the vegan mozerella and bacon one. So tasty. Really good for lunch, and their coffee is delicious with lots of plant milk options. Highly recommend the coconut latte."

"We visited this restaurant last night, the first time in a few years. The service was good and friendly. The pate was okay, and the dough balls were also just okay. The calzone and mushroom risotto were average, while the gnocchi was okay. Overall, the food was nothing special. The prices were quite high, with beers costing £7.50 each and Sprites priced at £4.75. We ended up spending £162 for four people, including a bottle of mid-priced wine. We were not impressed enough to come back in a hurry."

"Lovely looking cafe in Glasgow's West End. I had haddock with some coleslaw, my partner had burger and chips, and we both had a mug of tea each. My haddock initially had a strange taste and I soon realised it was the tartare sauce. It was horrible! I ate what I could of the rest but the tartare sauce left a nasty taste in my mouth. That said, I had a few chips from my girlfriend's plate and they were very nice. No grease at all, and in fairness the fish wasn't greasy either. My girlfriend didn't really enjoy her burger saying that the bun didn't taste great and the Gold Star tomato ketchup wasn't great either. The lady who served us though was so welcoming and friendly and a credit to this place. She was lovely and the tip we gave was for her. The cafe is basic but equally quite stylish with exposed brickwork lit up which I liked, and the prices were OK. Please, please, please though get rid of them tartare sauce sachets. I know Gold Star tomato ketchup is what chippies in Scotland use so I can't really suggest changing. I did like the coleslaw though. Food. 6/10 Service. 10/10"

"We went there for lunch with two kids. The kids menu no longer includes chicken nuggets and chips. It is pasta and pizza only. The value of the kids menu is not great. It is £6.95 for a main. The desert, drink, starter, etc. is extra. At £2.90 for a juice and another £2.90 for desert service your kids meal is going to cost you £13 when I compare this to other places in the area it is over priced for kids. I used to not mind paying it as they had the babysitting service, which made it worth paying extra, obviously COVID has taken this away. From an adults perspective the prices are as expected and the pizza and pasta was good. We ordered the fritte pesca and this was over priced and average at best. It tasted like frozen seafood and it was fried a bit hard, making it very very chewy."

"I'd had difficulty booking and had inquired about gluten free but after 2 Facebook messages and an attempted phone call, I got confirmation of the booking and that gluten free dough would be there for a friend. On ordering the pizza, the server said he needed to check about the gluten free dough. I hadn't had chance to explain I'd requested it already. He then was at the bar area for a little while investigating. I ended up going to explain I'd had confirmation of the gluten free dough, only to be told he knew that was the case but it had been used unfortunately! He then checked if they could get some locally, which fortunately was the case. After a shaky start, things unfortunately didn't go smoothly. A drink was smashed on arriving at the table; 2 of the 3 pizzas waited a while before getting to us; I burnt my hand moving the pizza slate to a friend (there was no warning how hot it was, nor an apology); 1 pizza hadn't reached the table and remained under the light for a while so my friend ended up going to ask if it was her pizza and it was finally broughtover; cocktails arrived that were for another table and on asking for the bill, I was told we might have to go to the bar as the server didn't know how to do it. He did then get someone to bring the bill. All in all, it was disappointing. The training of staff needs improving."
"I have been to the flat before, and I absolutely love it. The flavours of the pizzas are so well put together. Sadly on one occasion, I ordered a kids size pizza for myself as a takeaway (I live alone and with an eating disorder, so therefore, for me, it seems silly for me to buy a pizza I can’t finish). I was judged and made to feel like a terrible person for ordering a small pizza for one person/adult. I will not eat a whole pizza to myself, and have a complex about throwing food away, and wasting money. Not only was the managers snidey comment of ‘I’m sure a child wouldn’t be ordering a spicy sausage pizza’ belittling, but I was also charged the same price for an adult pizza, without being made aware of this before hand: I found this really unfair, and somehow felt guilty, even though I am still spending my money, and have been a couple of times before with friends. I’m sure you get many couples come in and share one pizza between two of them, which is the same as one adult buying a small pizza to themselves."

"Bella Italia has a vegan/veggie menu that is quite small, but you can also request some items on their main menu to be veganized. The starter had a lot of reverence, but I felt I could do with more than one piece of Crostini when I was left with a lot of reverence. I felt like the service was impeccable, as it was no trouble for me to explore different options, and our server made sure that I didn't feel different from other people order their meals. The pleasant experience I had at the Middlebrook restaurant was so good that I went back with my children a few weeks later. Recommend the vegan Carbonara! Edit; as I have left this review, they have now expanded their vegan series even more, I am so impressed and the food is delicious, a meal with my non vegan family so easy and made a beautiful experience. "a classic bar works chess, three johns has long been a favorite of me. I love the interieur: it is stone and woody, without being the typical iondoner we are so used to. I like the separate escaping area also in the inner, make sure to sit there when they visit for a proper meal. it is so spacious in the main area; it feels like they have kept less tables consciously to make it so. large for large groups due to the long tables too. <= <= < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < <"

"Four of us dined at The Farm Inn on Friday evening booking an outside table. The service and atmosphere was brilliant. I am a local and have visited many times over the years. On this occasion the food was good in general however the portion/pricing on the pea courgette fritters is nonsensical! It costs £15.95 as a main or £8.95 as a starter. For our starters since we were pretty hungry, we ordered it as a main alongside a main portion of the aubergine and tofu bao buns and the poke bowl. When the food arrived we were perplexed. There were four of the aubergine and tofu bao buns, which is what I would expect for a main. However there were only three for the fritters, and the fritters themselves are small in size. I asked our server if the order was correct, as it looked more of a starter than a main. The server advised that she did place the order as a main but would check with the kitchen staff. She soon returned to advise that the starter portion has two fritters and the main has three. I gave a puzzled look as the maths makes no sense. If you ordered it as a starter it then means it is £4.48 per fritter £8.95/2) but ordering it as a main would be £5.32 per fritter £15.95/3). The aubergine and tofu bao buns are exactly the same price and four arrived as a main which makes sense when two would come as a starter. We later ordered as mains the mushroom and aubergine pizzas which were tasty and the gnocchi, which was way too doughy but the flavours were interesting....When the bill arrived I brought up the portion/pricing issue with the fritters to the server and added I am disappointed to be paying this part of the bill when I am not happy about it all. She said she would give feedback and said it was completely understandable. I would generally feel inclined to speak to the manager however since my father was with me and suffers from severe anxiety I knew that by doing so would completely ruin the evening. Overall it meant that an evening which otherwise would have been enjoyable since our server was lovely, the atmosphere was great, and in general the food was good, meant we left feeling unnecessarily ripped off! :"

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant for breakfast, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The meal was reasonably priced, with costs ranging from £10 to £20 per person. The food was quite impressive, earning a solid 4 out of 5. Each dish was well-prepared and delicious, showcasing a great range of flavors. The service was also commendable, receiving a score of 4. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. As for the atmosphere, it created a pleasant setting to enjoy our breakfast, also rated 4. The ambiance was inviting and comfortable, contributing to the overall experience. I would definitely recommend this spot for a satisfying breakfast!"

"Definitely one to go out of your way for. Beautiful evening spent here with spectacular food. We had the Hot Meat Pizza and Bouillabaisse, which were both delicious. Would have definitely had one of the desserts if we could have fitted it in! Definitely recommend trying the cocktails too. The Apple Mojito was perfectly refreshing whilst watching the sun go down out of the floor to ceiling windows. Service was friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much for the staff. I would recommend parking just up the hill- it's on the right on your way down. Reasonably priced or free after 6pm. Just a short walk away. Definitely recommend!"

"I ordered some light dessert bites at 11:20 PM on a Monday night with an estimated arrival time of 11:40 PM, which I found to be optimistic considering the restaurant is only a 15-minute drive from my location. At midnight, I called for an updated arrival time and was informed that the driver had already left and would be arriving shortly. By 12:20 AM, I called again and was placed on hold while they tried to reach the driver. Eventually, the driver arrived, seeming unaware of the previous issues. He handed me the food, which included cold milk and cream-based desserts that were not properly packaged and had become warm and mushy. As he handed me the food, the bag ripped and I dropped a milkshake on the floor, luckily it was wrapped in clingfilm and remained intact. I tried to discuss the issues with the driver while still on the phone with the restaurant, but it seemed to be dismissed as a simple misunderstanding. Ultimately, I should have trusted my instincts and sent the food back as the hot food was cold, the cold food was warm, and the cookies were burnt. Overall, not worth the wait and hassle in my opinion."
