"spicy garlauchbrot is incredible (full green chili) that was perfect for us the gamberoni fritti made us a perfect starter, but the manzo cacciatore was certainly not made with filet steak. it is always a shame when the quality of the ingredients. are not as described that this court was one of them. we had both the main dish manzo cacciarore fillet steak pieces, although very nice was not fillet steak pieces. I mention this because this was our only problem that I am a metzger that is all my life long, I know how I say, though very nice, it should be sold as it is. the service staff was very good in a very lively restaurant. I mentioned my problems to our young server, but no answer from the administration wanted to cause no scene."

"My wife and I shared a pizza and sharing platter and it was enough for the both of us. I would say prices are a little on the higher side, BUT, the food is delicious and the services was great. We sat in a window seat downstairs and felt that corner lacked a bit of atmosphere as the restaurant speakers are in the other side of the room. All in all, a delightful place!"

"This is a really lovely branch of Pizza Express which now has the added advantage of serving vegan cheese on its pizza. On my last visit in August 2016 prior to going to watch Carlise United v Plymouth Argyle I had the Giardiniera pizza and a glass of Pinot Grigio even though I'd had a few too many the night before at a Bryan Adams concert vegan by the way at Durham County cricket ground. Currently this is probably the only place you'll get a vegan pizza in Carlise and is the obvious choice if staying in or visiting this historic border town. Yes, I did get a bag of chips cooked in vegetable oil and a couple of cans of Stella for the ScotRail back to Newcastle."

"Bella Italia has a vegan/veggie menu that is quite small, but you can also request some items on their main menu to be veganized. The starter had a lot of reverence, but I felt I could do with more than one piece of Crostini when I was left with a lot of reverence. I felt like the service was impeccable, as it was no trouble for me to explore different options, and our server made sure that I didn't feel different from other people order their meals. The pleasant experience I had at the Middlebrook restaurant was so good that I went back with my children a few weeks later. Recommend the vegan Carbonara! Edit; as I have left this review, they have now expanded their vegan series even more, I am so impressed and the food is delicious, a meal with my non vegan family so easy and made a beautiful experience. "Went here for lunch before heading to the theatre in the late afternoon. Service was good as was the food. Was placed at the back of the venue which was spacious and away from the busy part. Waitress was friendly and always enjoy coming here when coming to Hertford!"

"We visited this restaurant last night, the first time in a few years. The service was good and friendly. The pate was okay, and the dough balls were also just okay. The calzone and mushroom risotto were average, while the gnocchi was okay. Overall, the food was nothing special. The prices were quite high, with beers costing £7.50 each and Sprites priced at £4.75. We ended up spending £162 for four people, including a bottle of mid-priced wine. We were not impressed enough to come back in a hurry."

"We went there for lunch with two kids. The kids menu no longer includes chicken nuggets and chips. It is pasta and pizza only. The value of the kids menu is not great. It is £6.95 for a main. The desert, drink, starter, etc. is extra. At £2.90 for a juice and another £2.90 for desert service your kids meal is going to cost you £13 when I compare this to other places in the area it is over priced for kids. I used to not mind paying it as they had the babysitting service, which made it worth paying extra, obviously COVID has taken this away. From an adults perspective the prices are as expected and the pizza and pasta was good. We ordered the fritte pesca and this was over priced and average at best. It tasted like frozen seafood and it was fried a bit hard, making it very very chewy."

"I used to love this place and ordered frequently when it was still named Mario 's Plaice . I loved the freshness and quality of the food. I assumed after the renovation and renaming to Simeone 's we would get equal or better quality. However, after going to simeones not long after it opened I was left disappointed with the meal killer of having bones in the fish. For a fish and chip shop this is the one thing that puts me and no doubt most others off, no one wants to be picking out fish bones from their mouth having a fish supper. I thought hopefully this was an off day and maybe the quality wasn 't there yet due to having just reopened so now a few months later I returned and sadly I had the same experience again. First I was enjoying the fish with nice the nice batter and great chips only to then catch more bones in my mouth. Even after attempting to continue eating the fish the bones continued. Having this experience even once can put you off a chippy but twice, I 'm not sure I 'll go back and will instead stick to the alternatives."

"This has seriously been the worst service I've received in years .i was greeted by a young girl whom hadn't a clue what was going on .she wasnt able to allocate us a seat so we just sat at the nearest table .we ordered a bottle of wine and she promptly took payment .lots of tables with no drinks on .people walking out as waiting too long .4 staff all milling around doing nothing .waited 20 mins for our drinks so decided to go to the bar and ask “.yes they will be with you shortly “ 10 minutes later they arrived so half an hours wait for a bottle of wine .abs ridiculous .there is abs NO customer service .the only quick service was when they took payment!!!! Its being run by collage kids but it needs someone in there to organise the staff .such a shame as the decor is lovely but customer service has to come first .always greet and acknowledge your customers .very important ."

"Owner rude and arrogant! And you can’t trust them and they won’t make your order right by just saying too busy to make it right! I called in to make a booking but told no tables available but I could place an order for takeaway so I ordered two gluten free pizzas. I also asked what size are the gluten free pizza crust and was told 11”. I was told I would need to wait 1 hour 30 minutes and I agreed. I ordered the Gluten free 11 “ crust as advised for one Olive Tree and one Garlicky . When I arrived, I asked the person with the pizzas to confirm the gluten free pizzas. She looked a bit worried and said they were not gluten free. I asked the other girl if I would have to wait another 1.5 hrs and she said they would expedite my pizzas. The owner came over and said he had two vegan pizzas for 8:30 pm and I said that is not what I ordered. He said he was too busy to remake the pizzas. He said the girl that took the order said she didn’t remember gluten free was ordered. As a Celiac , those are the first words out of my mouth when I order any food and I also inquired the size of the gluten free crust and frequently they are pre-made and sealed and I was told they are 11”. He would not remake the pizzas as he said he has to trust his staff. So he implies the customer are lying and uses it as an excuse to not make it right. It doesn’t excuse not remaking the pizzas correctly as ordered gluten free as I was told a few minutes earlier. I assured him I ordered both pizzas gluten free and my wife came in and also confirmed as she heard me place the order on the phone. I realize this pizza must be well done and popular but not to remake the pizzas and imply me a liar and refusing to remake them is unprofessional. I find his behavior arrogant, rude and unprofessional and just because he went to Italy to learn how to make pizza doesn’t make him a good owner and manager. Hopefully, he won’t blow off this review but learn from it. Always make it right for your customers! And never insult your customers! It also suggest he doesn’t care about his customers because he is too busy. He walks away and just repeats he has to trust his employees. Poor excuse for not making the pizzas as ordered! Employees can make mistakes and as a Coeliac I will also double check as I did when I came to pick up the pizzas. I would advise Coeliacs to not try these pizzas as you can’t trust them to make them to your order. Peace be with you! Dietary restrictions You cannot trust this place to make your gluten free as ordered and they won’t remake it if they made it wrong and just say I have to trust my staff. Very Poor attitude from an owner and a bit arrogant! Customers don’t appear to be important and must be lying if they get an order wrong."

"We ate here twice on a short stay and it would’ve been three times if they opened on Monday! We had garlic bread with cheese, scallops, fish and chips, smoked haddock risotto and roast chicken and enjoyed every dish. The whisky in the Cranachan was hard to detect but as we’d just done the 3 distilleries, we’re giving the chef a pass on this one . Great food, a lovely welcome and service from the team, definitely worth a visit."

"The farm never fails to hit the spot. It was a pleasure to be back. The outside and inside areas are beautiful. The staff are so great and a credit to you. The social distancing measures work well and were unintrusive. The food is always the star of the show here and I was so excited when it arrived because I knew it would be deliscious and it looked gorgeous too. My rib eye was cooked to perfection and my friends miso cod was stunning, so much flavour! Hats off to the chef s Lots of variety on the menu for dishes without meat. "Didnt start great We had booked 3 days before but when we arrived they hadn 't got us down, and blamed 'having a wedding ' as the reason they hadn 't written it. They did (literally) squeeze us in though. Fantastic food a seafood platter and antipasto sharer went down very well... All a bit crammed in like sardines though, to the point where the guy behind kept bashing into me! Also wasn 't keen to see people seating their dogs next to them on the outside seats paws on the table! The toilet signage made me laugh.... I was 'swettie ' but that was the heat of the day (see picture)"
