"I arrived 10 mins early for our 8pm booking so, as my partner was running late, I sat at the bar to order 2 Dirty Martinis, so his would be ready on arrival. It is lucky the wall behind the bottles is mirrored, as I had to keep checking to make sure that at a chunky 185lbs, I wasnt suddenly invisible... Several barmen went about their duties and having served the guests to my right, then having a natter among themselves, they then asked the couple if they wanted another drink, while I again checked the mirror to make sure I hadn 't been the subject of some scientific experiment, but NO! I was definitely still there! By 8.12 my partner arrived and I still had not been served so we decided to go straight to the table. The Maitre-d ' didn 't seem surprised and told me our table waiter would be able to get our cocktails... Frankly, for me the cocktail moment had passed and I was ready to order a bottle of wine for the meal, but my partner took the opportunity to order the 2 Martinis. The shared charcuterie board came with 3 half slices of light toast .. 3 on a shared platter seemed strange but when requested more bread came quickly. The quality of meat and additions were excellent and it was a most enjoyable starter. There are some very decent wines at low cost, as well as the usual offerings around double the price. But our Nero D 'avola was just right. I had a succulent Chicken Milanese and my partner enjoyed his Macaroni Cheese. The service was excellent, the waiter was attentive and friendly, and we were not being rushed to leave so we ordered one desert to share. The Pecan pie was amazing. It wasn 't the usual sickly sweet offering elsewhere, and the salted caramel ice cream that accompanied it was superb. Again we were not being rushed, but encouraged instead to finish the last of our wine at leisure.. It was a very enjoyable evening and it reminded me of my first ever date at the old venue some 35 years ago. In those days my date knew a famous actress and soap star who was a frequent visitor to Joe Allen. We were often invited to join her table or take adjacent seats. Joe Allen has lost none of its charm, but I did much prefer the bigger bar and being able to hear the pianist, who apparently was playing while we were there. As Arnie said.... I 'll be back... though I may grab a Martini or Marguerita somewhere else, first."

"I arrived on time and presented my self to the receptionist saying I had a reservation for afternoon tea. A waiter immediately popped out and greeted me by name and led me to my prepared table. As well as a dessert plate with cutlery my table had a small side plate and butter knife, a selection of 6 jars of jam (raspberry, strawberry, apricot and marmalade (all Wilkin , salt and pepper mills and a bowl of sugar. My order was taking promptly and the requested glass of tap water and pot of tea arrived promptly. A small jug of milk and some pats of butter were also brought.Soon my sandwiches arrived. There were six sandwiches; two each of grilled aubergine and cream cheese; chicken and salad; smoked salmon and cream cheese. The grilled aubergine and cream cheese isn 't something I would have thought of creating my self but it was surprisingly tasty. Along with my sandwiches were nine fancies; a small pastry cup of vanilla custard with strawberry, a small pastry cup of vanilla custard with a fresh mint sprig and a small pastry cup of chocolate custard with cranberries as well as two each of three different biscuits. All were excellent with the chocolate custard being particularly memorable.A few minutes later my scones (one plain, one fruit arrived fresh from the oven along with two little pastries and some cream.A requested hot water top up for my tea was no problem and I was offered more sandwiches which, as the food originally brought was so plentiful, I regretfully had to decline. This was an excellent tea and I enjoyed it very much. The food was very good and the staff attentive but discreet. My only niggle is the discretionary service charge . It 's not mentioned on the website and it 's not mentioned on the menu posted outside. I 'm not sure if it 's on the table menus as I didn 't really look at it, knowing already what I wanted. In the UK I 'm used to paying the price quoted for goods and services so to have 12.5% added without warning is a step in the wrong direction. I 'm guessing management will say that, as I don’t have to pay it, they don 't have to mention it beforehand.Anyway, the meal would be good value at £26 service but I had a offer so got it for £16 service which made it exceptionally good value."

"I was very excited to try the famous cipriani restaurant. my mother was a regular customer a few years ago and she spoke so much of it, remembered both the eating and the staff in so detail and had even met the owner who sounded. very friendly and kept his facility on a very high standard. the eating was average, absolutely overpriced and she was shocked to see the difference in the service between now and then, and I was extremely disappointed by the behavior of the waiter on our table. we were asked to wait for our table, although our friend had mobility problems and they were aware of it. the atmosphere was quite loud, as the waiter took our order, he had to lean on to hear what we said was perfect. when I ordered, I was sure that the appetiser, but thought it right, first a question about the risotto of the day and the other pornstar I was interested in, and one of the two was the same question asked another person of our table. he replied that the dame has already asked me the same question and I just replied sorry, I could not listen to her conversation, although I had no obligation to say that or do that. when he explained, I told him the court that I had decided and then moved on to order my appetit to which he asked, this is her main course, I answered no, I would like this as my appetizer, to which he replied they always begin from top to bottom, never from bottom to top meaning they never start from their main and then order their appetizer. this was said in such a repulsive and aggressive way that I was actually shocked, but he quickly moved to the next person and I thought it was best to leave. my friend looked at the weeping list and asked if they had a certain whisky to which he answered no, we did not. if they were the whisky menu, not the wine menu that he disappeared and never brought, we had to ask another waitress who kindly informs us that they actually have it and brought us the whisky list themselves. when everyone had the appetit, he brought me the wrong one. I told him politely that this was not the praised court that I had ordered to answer that this is the one you showed me in such an rude tone and resurrected. that is impossible, because the court I showed him was the one he brought me to the menu. the cherry above was the fact that he did not remove the wrong appetit from the bill and I had to ask to remove it. this is absolutely unacceptable for such an expensive restaurant that has long been here. I will never really understand what such people are right to behave on these wise and how management allows this. this is the only reason why no one is visited by our table again and it is really a scandal in view of its long history. ps: we found out this morning that they put rest of another table in the Takeaway bag we demanded. this device is really the epitome of catastrophe and a spirit of pastness!"

"what a stunning little jewel just a stone's throw from waterloo station. I was great by a very friendly young lady blonde haare,) who found me a table on a Friday evening in consideration of the evening entertainment very well singer with his gitarre and harmonika.) the venue is very covered but with a touch of class with beautiful, subtle light and really warm atmosphere. a place where you're lucky to take a date. I noticed that they are also dogs friendly. they have a very good selection of beer and weep as well as cocktails that were offered at this night £6.50 from 8 o'clock, but I loved the Czech beer and stayed on it. the menu is in the round small plates of local ingredients to make as much as their meal times as possible. I felt hungry as always,) so the ochsenwangen had a side of the skin on fries. I have properly informed that it would be significant. the eating was just delicious, I can honestly say it was the most beautiful eating I had in a quite long time again a few years) and I often eat. from the 1st mouth full to the last did not want to finish it) it was simply amazing. ox wange is something I didn't have, but braided in a simple gravity and only a few nice with my fries that slept up the juice, I was in the food-to-food sky. I stayed for a few hours enjoying the beer and atmosphere created by entertainment and the staff as well as the good amount of people also a good evening. I ask them if they eat good service and only a good time to try this place, and I am confident that they will not be disappointed. Thank you."
