"Went to the harbour bar recently for a drink, walked in and the place was dead. Ordered a drink using the app and got served by the bar manager James. Our drinks were set in front of us without a word spoken, not even a...hello. The manager then proceeded to watch the football on the screen in front of us. Not as if he was too busy to speak! Also witnessed a member of the bar staff drop the tongs for the ice, then lifted them off the floor and placed them back into the ice bucket, not very hygienic! Extremely disappointing service."

"Do not buy gift vouchers from Newlyn Filmhouse unless you are absolutely sure the recipient will be able to use them. Unfortunately they’ve taken a massive hard line for a request for an extension. We only asked for one months extension for £60 worth of vouchers it wouldn’t cost them anything, their attitude was immovable and unacceptable as a local business. Totally disappointing, expected far more Savoy in Penzance, next time!"

"I had a wonderful time at the restaurant for my ninth birthday, eagerly anticipating cod and chips. However, when I opened the menu, I only saw squid or pollock. Thankfully, the mixed grill was delicious and everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. I would definitely recommend this place!"

"New management and it shows!! We 've always been regulars but we stopped whilst it changed hands. My sister visited and said it was new management and much better so we gave it another go. It was lovely. Food was perfect, exactly how we requested it, very good quality and good prices. One waitress was abrupt but the other staff and new manager more than made up for that. Clean, tidy and the lovely old atmosphere is back. Hats off to the new manager because he has turned it around within a few days looking forward to becoming regulars again."

"Never been here before was looking for food on the way back from the malverns and seen this inn, they stop food at 8pm and with few minutes to go still let us order, another couple came in and they let them order as well, the food was really good and hot, the landlady only took over in January and I think they are doing well, busy little place next to the road so just right to stop and relax, lovely friendly atmosphere and service was excellent, Friendly staff, Would recommend and definitely going again"

We had the unfortunate experience of sitting almost on top of an adjoining table where a young yachtsman sat who had the table manners of a pig! The food was pretty run of the mill too! "As a party of five we were a little disappointed- the restaurant only had one other table and then a large party in the back and despite this, they didn't accommodate us onto a nicer table (it was right by the entrance which they must have done to not make the restaurant look empty but was cold for us when the door was opened). We had booked Cote because of a birthday offer for a free bottle of Cremant- when we told the waitress she seemed disbelieving and scrutinised the email and then spent a while with her colleague before coming back to inform us it was okay (even though it was on the booking). The food was a little disappointing (the minute steak was bland whereas the chicken liver parfait was tasty) and we ordered dessert where they brought a chocolate mousse/ganache out for the birthday girl. We all thought the other had ordered it for her but no one had and they put it on the bill too!"

"Visited this lovely pub again Sunday May 29th 2022 for a meal and it didn't dissapoint we were greated by Dylan who served us with drinks while we waited for our table to become free. After a few minutes Dylan showed us to our seats the restaurant area was busy but it didn't make you feel cramped in which is a good thing. We ordered our food and waited about 20 minutes for it to arrive. The food was Fantastic it was at a good temperature and the portion size was just right. Once we were finished with the main course we had desert once again this did not disappoint great portion size and it tasted great! Overall a fantastic meal spent with friends at The Fox Inn will definitely visit again and definitely recommend visiting. Cheers A lovely pub were you can relax have a few drinks and get some grub. With friendly staff and a nice atmosphere thoroughly recommend a vist."

"The day before our reservation, I received a call confirming all the meal details I had submitted, which was reassuring. When we arrived, we were seated in a cozy, functional space that was absolutely perfect for our small party, especially since we were the only guests. We enjoyed a lovely dinner without the distraction of large menus, and the staff was fantastic, making us feel very welcome. The younger members of our group appreciated the extra space, allowing them to have fun without bothering anyone else. My son had a wonderful evening, and so did the rest of us. We will certainly visit again!"

"Went to the Ivor arms for Sunday lunch. It was recommended to me. Arrived at 13:55 for our table which was booked for 14:00. We were asked to order our drinks at the table as it would be quicker. After 40 mins someone took our drink and food order. My daughters starter came out 10 mins later. Our drinks didn’t come for another 30mins. After 1hr 30 mins we still hadn’t received our lunch, so I asked about it. I was told we had to wait as we had ordered one starter . When our meals came we asked for mint and apple sauce which never came. The waitresses were running around and were obviously very short staffed. Wouldn’t go again and wouldn’t recommend."

"We visited this restaurant peak time on a Saturday evening and Ta'Lisha couldn't do enough to help with ordering and offers etc using the KFC app to get the best deal. Ta'Lisha is a credit to this company and if only everyone had her patience with customers as she does it would always be a pleasure anywhere you went. The food was really tasty and the only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because the chips weren't the freshest and were made up of very small bits, but on the whole it was an enjoyable experience and very tasty chicken."

"came with my family 2 adult 1 child. we were crowned on a table suitable for 4 people. they had to put in another chair. the man made our meal selection by the app, but the tablet frozen. a waitress took it off and came back 5 seconds later with a new tablet. Before we knew that eating was coming down, our job was supposed to be. we complained that they took all the stones away. when we placed our order, eating was cold, the chips were terrible, the staff was not helpful a bit. I think their best option is to make reservations only where waiter take their order and take them on more up-to-date tablets, change the cook and the menu. because over £100 on pappeal and microshaft boiled chips that were not edible is shocking. what the drinks the strong now dark fruit apple wine did not taste very nice, was rather flat and quite warm to drink. the concept and the idea of the achterbahn caffe is great, but it needs a huge rebuild and overhall .. the workers in the restaurant need to wait properly for tables not abandon customers on their own devices on tablets that look as they need to update"

"The service at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The waiter was rude and did not greet us with a smile throughout the rushed meal. We were not informed that our table was only available for a limited time when we made the reservation. We were pressured to place our order multiple times within just five minutes of being seated. The chicken dish I ordered with lemon and herb flavor was covered in a strange gelatinous sauce that was clearly not cooked properly. The gravy had no flavor at all. The waiter rushed us through our meal and seemed annoyed when we asked for dessert and a cup of tea. He informed us, for the first time, that the table was needed in fifteen minutes. After paying over £40, we were not even thanked or offered a smile as we left. We have dined here a few times before, but will not be returning due to the rude and rushed service, low quality food, and high prices. There are much better dining options available that we will be trying instead."

"Have ordered a few takeaways from here and it’s always been really nice. I’ve just had a masaman curry and it was super tasty and full of flavour only thing I have to say was that I ordered beef but I got chicken instead but it was still nice and there was just one small cube of potato in the dish. My partner had the Thai crispy duck and it was good as well. The food was ready super quick but overall the food is really lovely."

The reason for a 4 instead of a 5 for the food was that while all the dishes we tried were wonderful, the chips were disappointing and detracted from the overall meal experience. Despite that, I had a fantastic time, and I would definitely return. I highly recommend The Eagle for both daytime and evening visits!"

"I wouldn’t recommend the cheesy chips with bacon bits. There was hardly any cheese or bacon, and they arrived stone cold. You’d be better off ordering regular chips with your meal, as you get much more for your money. The food was just okay; I remember it being better when it was Hungry Horse, with higher quality food and better value. I've visited a few times, but both the food and service seem to have declined. It felt like they were trying to cut costs on staff as well as the ingredients. There were only two people serving all night, and while they did their best to keep up with a busy restaurant, it just wasn’t enough. It might be a while before I decide to go back."

"The restaurant was extremely busy for the time of year, but the food was of excellent quality. I ordered the homemade lamb and mint pie, and it was absolutely delicious. My two friends chose the fish and chips, which were a great deal at 2 for £25, and they were just as pleased with their choice. Unfortunately, there was no signal to take photos, but I will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this pub; it has a lovely atmosphere. One noteworthy detail is the outdoor seating next to a fast-flowing stream, which is particularly charming in good weather. There is also plenty of parking available across a small bridge."
