"Having originally gone to the Crafty Dragon pub nearby and left due to not getting our food after an hour wait, we went here and could not have received better service! On arrival we asked the manageress if there was a wait on food because we had waited for over an hour elsewhere. We were informed that there was no wait but she also brought us free dough balls after we were seated before we even ordered anything to help calm our appetites! From here we continued to receive fantastic service, letting us know which meals would take longer to make and they checked on us regularly throughout our visit. Food was brought quickly and tasted great! I don't normally write reviews but felt this restaurant deserved a mention as it is the best restaurant experience we have had for a long time!"

"Terrible experience, was seated and we ordered 2 pints budwieser only to be told there 's no draught beer only bottles £5.10 a bottle £10.20 a pint basically) so we had 1 bottle each after waiting 15 minutes to get said bottle. Lady and child next table was shouting to waiter When will our food be coming please ? I went on the £12.90 2 courses menu) I ordered garlic pizza bread and pepperoni pizza but was charged £3.00 and £12.40 respectively...mmmmhh supposed to be £12.90 !!! All in Garlic bread was solid and tasteless, never seen garlic at all. Pizza ...probably the worst I 've ever had and I 've buried a few in my time, no cheese , no moisture, no taste, I had to ask for parmesan to put a glimmer of cheese on it . Total rip off ! I actually left with a horrible taste in my mouth. Wife ordered lasagne was OK but had carrots in it ???? She was a head chef for one of Holts brewery mainstream pubs for 10 years...never seen carrots in lasagne? Overall it was a bad experience, wish I 'd never gone in and left feeling ripped off despite the bill being reasonable Someone needs to tell the 2nd chef to put their phone down too , people waiting for food !!! Never got asked if our meal was OK ? Never got asked if we wanted another drink even though I 'd drank my little bottle before the starter arrived. Bad experience all round , won 't be going again in a hurry Happy New year"

"Visited on Saturday afternoon, was very busy and we were left waiting in the doorway for at least 5 minutes before anyone came over to us. We were seated right at the back near the kitchen which was the busiest part, almost all tables were full. I don't know why we were seated here as there were many empty tables near the front. We ordered the chicken variety starter and the house burger. The starter arrived within 10 minutes and was generally good. The chicken on the scewers was dry but everything else was ok and presentation was good. The mains arrived and looked fine but the burgers were overcooked and tasted like carboard. The waiter completely lost interest in us once he delivered the main course, we planned to ask for another drink but didn't get the chance to ask. He was only interested in new customers coming in. We didn't finish the burgers and chose to leave. Again it took forever to catch the writers eye and ask for the bill. We paid by the F&B App, we used the 2 for 1 mains deal, it slightly made up for the food. I like the new App to pay as you don't feel so pressured to leave a tip when people don't deserve it."

"The food was fantastic, and the portion sizes have returned to what they used to be. The chicken burger with BBQ sauce is a must-try, as well as the chicken and rib combo—both are excellent choices. Coupled with great service, it made for a wonderful evening!"

"Came here with family after the cinema since we'd heard good things and we're glad we did. It was quiet, so no wait for a table. The menu had quite a variety to work from, pizzas, burgers, pasta and more! I forgot to take food pictures since it looked so good when it arrived that we started eating straight away : My son was a bit disappointed in his burger, since he's used to having a choice of getting it Medium and it came well done by default."

"Now as most people who know me are aware that this girl loves her burgers, can't get enough of them I'm always willing to try new varieties etc. I ordered online from Frankie Benny's a burger chips with a starter. It was delivered on time it was still quite warm, just not hot. Which was okay as at least it wasn't cold it was being delivered approx 4 miles from the restaurant to my home. It arrived in a box which opens up like a plate saved me having to use anything else apart from my fingers to eat with. The burger was nicely cooked after I removed the soggy lettuce tomato I demolished it very quickly. A girl who loves her food says Yummmm!! Chips were a little hard for me, as they had lost heat in their travels so I didn't eat them. I have visited Frankie Benny's many many times I've always enjoyed the food their drinks. The staff are friendly helpful. You can also see into their open kitchen to see the food being prepared. I do recommend this place for you to try. Have an awesome day!! "Visited Christmas eve, booked for 8pm, rang to say we may be a few minutes late to be told they close at 9pm,now I hadn't been told this very disappointed to say the least, there was 6 of us, we arrived on time and we ordered drinks and had 3 cokes a few cocktails when they arrived there was no syrup in the coke so just like drinking water, the manager came over and said quite abruptly I've tasted the coke and there's nothing wrong with it, so basically called us liars, I tasted it it was water, one of the team said it was a new recipe but I'm sorry coca cola is coca cola.i have visited here with family and never been treated so rudely. "The restaurant experience was very disappointing. Upon arrival, they claimed that there was no booking under my name despite providing confirmation. Eventually, we were seated after a 20-minute wait but the service was so slow that we ended up waiting 2 hours before leaving. When the desserts finally arrived, they assured us that the child's dessert would be ready in 2 minutes. However, we had all finished our desserts and had to remind them about my son's dessert, which still hadn't been served. Overall, I would not recommend visiting this restaurant again."

"we had a disappointing experience with a pub lunch, but frankie and benny are prepared for this disappointment. the personal was great. they found us a table for five big adults. they quickly took our drink order and delivered exactly what we ordered, including the special drink request of my father. we shared a meat festival star and a pizza style garlauchbrot. it was just enough to the juices flow for our main courses and tasted fantastic the most important courses were also fab. my sister in law loves her grill sauce. the penny of my mother came out hot. my salat was right, I wanted some extra salat dressing just for the case, but I didn't need it. the Speck double cheeseburger defeated my sister. my dad really enjoyed his ribs when we approached them. puddings were really nice to brownies and chocolate fudge cake for my sister and sister in law. dad had apple cake that comes with both vinegar and ice cream. I had the frightened basket cream, caramel ice cream and banane in a cookie shaped basket. we all agreed that eating was much better than we could have gotten in the pub and the service was absolutely extraordinary. They also brought me a cupcake with a candle so I could fly out. they played stevie wonders happy birthday. I was really touched, and when it came to the bill, my sister in the law loaded the francie and benny app on her phone and we have 50% of our main courses. my father was very satisfied/ I can't stress how good the service was. all the staff members were happy that our meals felt special and I even have a box to bring my cupcake home. I think all our meal times will go there. happier place for us."

"Five star worthy experience this afternoon. First time here and have to say the place is really cool. I appreciate it when popular eateries dedicate a page on their menu to unmistakable certified vegan options. The options are plenitude as well. Great restaurant choice for a warm vegan pizza and a classic milkshake in a retro glass- loved this so much. Decor is so cosy and also retro- warm dim lighting, comfy booths. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their lunch. The two chefs on the weekday lunch shift today (one male, one female were very quick at servicing the food orders and seemed like they enjoy their profession- I hope the company treats them well as they deserve the recognition. To be blunt for a second, I appreciate that the chefs here wear hair caps as I have seen too many places in which chefs do not? My waiter had a good personality, acknowledged my wish to eat from the vegan menu. She had a relaxed vibe about her. I think she (Nicole makes the Exeter branch special. I came alone but I imagine it would be a fantastic place to bring a loved one and share a meal together : Must say one last time the interior design is bang on- even in the toilets! Fun change of music as well- not typical commercialised tunes. The likes of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Barbara Acklin and lesser known ones like Freddie the Dreamers. What a joy!"

"Although we have been to F and Bs before we were disappointed this time round. Firstly the attachment highchair for my son, although the right size and nice to have him at the table was quite dirty. As it was made of canvas it would be hard to clean and did have a smell to it. The restaurant itself was very noisy and we had to really shout to hear each other at our table. The service however was good. Polite and prompt. However most disappointingly was that my wife discovered an inch long metal shard in her food! Staff apologised and made some fresh food but understandably she wasn’t too keen to eat any more and I was concerned what my children had eaten as this had a similar spaghetti dish. I would certainly think again before rebooking. Shame"

"I am a great fan of frankie and Benny’s, eating is generally always consistent and really quite delicious! I can say confidently that I have tried at least 1/3 of the menu and it is all really delicious! No matter what they choose, they will almost always get a really delicious meal! during the week they have in the rule a promotion for two courses and I recommend that for a cheaper meal, as a single meal can cost the same as the price the meal deal itself! this special industry is really beautiful and the staff is super friendly! I've never had a problem with eating. if they are on the royal mile, they should consider that this particular facility can be quite busy, so please note that in the head."

"Came here last week with my husband for a treat! Staff were attentive, customer service was second to none despite it being very busy. We were served by a lovely girl called Lizzie? Greeted with a lovely smile, gave us just the right time to chose, drinks out quickly and didn't feel rushed one bit! "Our visit wasn't the best. When we arrived, we were informed that breakfast was quite hectic, so we had to wait. My main course had to be switched because it was not what I ordered. I also wanted the Mediterranean salad with beef, but when it arrived, it turned out to be just half a salad with some beef on the side, which I expressed to the waitress. We had to make an effort to flag down someone for our next orders. We were seated right behind the service area, which made us feel like we were in the way. On the upside, our waitress was new but very helpful, and we appreciated the 40% discount we received."

"My son took me for dinner here tonight and the food was excellent. I usually suffer from indigestion if I eat pizza as it's usually greasy, but this was light, crispy and really tasty. I also had a pecan pie cheesecake which was delicious. Our waiter, Jamie, was friendly, chatty and very attentive....he definitely deserves praise, as I will certainly return if his service is anything to go by. I hope he gets acknowledged for his excellent service, he certainly earned it. Thanks for a great evening."
