"On a Tuesday evening we waited an hour for starter and another hour again for main (not exaggerating). We were advised after asking where our food was that they only had one chef in the kitchen and that the owner had now come in to help. The restaurant was full so not sure if this was bad planning or just unexpectedly busy. It looked like most tables waited a long time for their food. Nice touch at the end, as it was my birthday, that I was given a whole cake unexpectedly and sung Happy Birthday and also given a gift voucher to use in future. Unfortunately didn't quite make up for the two hour wait for food but it did stop us asking for a discount for the wait. One of the waiting staff we were mainly served by was apologetic when bringing starter late, however the one who actually bought our mains out didn't apologise at all for the wait. Not their fault the kitchen was slow, mind you. My friend also said her Vegan Cari was very bland. Was planning a last meal there with my partner before it changes to a new theme as it's where we had our first date but not sure I want to go back even with the voucher, as seems it's gone downhill since Shelina sold it. Interested to see what they're changing it into though."

"We always enjoy a visit to Zucca, tho it's best to avoid theatre matinee days, when it can get very hectic. The food is good, service pleasant and helpful and it is particular good value with the Groupon voucher. The Affogato is the best."

"Took my mrs and 2 kids here for a sunday lunch, admittedly this is a curry place but they do say they did a Sunday Lunch on the menu so thought why not. Staff friendly, no issues here. However, the music was weirdly r ..b after r b no issues with r b but its Sunday afternoon and its a restaurant?? and it was properly loud to the point i was having to raise my voice for my family to hear me (and I love music). They also played a song with all sorts of swearing and sexual references, really not what we want with 5 and 3 year old? Thankfully about half way through they must have noticed as it got turned off. Just struck me as though it was an employee playing a list of all their favourite songs and stuff the customers? The most disappointing thing however was the food. We ordered a lamb dinner. I am not being funny, I am not entirely sure we got lamb, it really didn't taste like any lamb I have ever had. Chewy, fully of fat, quite frankly, disgusting. I left half my plate. They gave us a mini jug each of gravy which was about enough to put on a saucer of food let alone a plate. We then got charged £45 which was not near what the menu prices stated (they state £6.99 for a lamb dinner), by this time we just wanted to get out so paid and will not be returning."

"Best sour pizza in Brighton!!!! You can go and try VIP pizza if you want, but this is the winner! Very fast service to get in and out and pizza looks good, taste absolutely delicious and the taste is divine. I know it's a franchise, but this one gives you a piece of Napoli!!!! Well done guys!!! Keep it up and the best. Ps: The team is friendly even if it is very busy with us, they have welcomed us the feeling We had number 7 and 8."

"it is a good place. the pizza is the Italian, without compromise. Although not the best pizza I ever had, it is a place I could come back to in the future. the location is beautiful, but unimaginable and could be a little too busy (also in the middle of the week). the service was nice, friendly and fast, especially in consideration of the amount of people who were in the restaurant. it is not possible to book in advance and this could be annoying. the only bad note was the tiramisu, not the worst I've ever eaten, but still really far from the original. I would never stress enough; if there were looking at it, it is not tiramisu. If they like cake with cream, they are in their own right to do it, but do not call it tiramisu."

"My first impressions were not good, the pictures on the website do not match inside the restaurant, because it is old decor inside. I felt like I walked into the wrong place! The menu offers mostly pork options, hardly any chicken or fresh seasonal veg. The actual menu is tacky in plastic wallets, this doesn't make a good impression of a high end place. The ice cream tasted like it had been in the freezer 2 years. The waiter brought out our food separately so some food was cold and some was hot, this is such bad service. They were hardly anyone around, we were left waiting to pay when another party came in to eat. Toilets had no tissue, I had to go back upstairs to ask for toilet paper! How bad! The toilet bins were over flowing and general mess put me off my food. Overall this is 1/5 and I wouldn't go back."

"I recently visited the best chicken restaurant in Edinburgh, after being recommended by a friend. I went there over the weekend and absolutely loved it. The chicken wings and peri peri burger were delicious and had my mouth watering. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back soon."

"When I moved to London eight years ago it wasn’t easy to find good, authentic Neapolitan pizza. Then, four or five years ago, one name began popping up in conversations with fellow Italian expats: Franco Manca. Today Franco Manca is one of my favourite pizzerias in London. Living ten minutes’ walk from the original Brixton restaurant (they now have ten branches in the city) means we eat there regularly. We know when to go to avoid queues and what to order. Recently I had the pleasure to eat at the new Franco Manca restaurant in East Dulwich for a soft launch ahead of today’s opening. It was my first experience in a “real” Franco Manca restaurant (the other two I tried before are in a market – Brixton – and in a shopping centre – Stratford) and I liked the modern and warm interiors. I tried one of the starters (a dish from the “small bites” menu): Burrata Almonds, Wild Pig Prosciutto. It was very good. For the pizza I tasted a Mozzarella, Tomato, Aubergines, Pancetta, Watercress. I asked the waitress to have it without watercress and added Parmigiano Reggiano shavings instead. Again very good quality of dough and ingredients. Franco Manca are famous for their sourdough pizza dough, which makes a highly digestible pizza and it’s true! I barely eat any bread nowadays and I was worried about feeling bloated after last night’s pizza, but I felt great afterwards. They use a soft wheat flour that at the end of the long fermentation process exhausts its starch content, so the result is a digestible product. After the pizza we treated ourselves to dessert: a sticky and light Neapolitan Caprese Cake made with almond flour and served with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream."
"I ordered a turkey gobbler sub and was surprised to find it made with smoked turkey and without jellied cranberry sauce. Unfortunately, the sub was quite disappointing and very salty. My friend paid for it, so I didn't voice my concerns at the time, but the shop really needs to improve their sub-making skills. I used to run a deli, and our turkey gobblers were definitely worth reordering, unlike this one."

"We had the pleasure of dining at Franco Manca in Guildford on Wednesday, 29th May 2024, to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday, and the experience was nothing short of brilliant. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted. Our waitress, Lucy, was absolutely fantastic. She was incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our meal. Her friendly demeanor and genuine hospitality added a special touch to our celebration. The pizza at Franco Manca is, without a doubt, some of the best we've ever had. Additionally, we were pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced everything was. Considering the quality of the food and the exceptional service, Franco Manca offers excellent value for money. Highly recommend!"

"Truva, located in Towcester, has only been open for a few weeks and I had high expectations after reading the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, I left feeling a bit let down. The staff were friendly and attentive, and I couldn't fault them. The courtyard location and the ambience and decor inside the restaurant were also great. However, I found the food to be disappointing. My wife and I started with the hot mezze which was uninspiring and a small portion for two people. The kebabs we ordered were very chewy and dry. Many British tourists have experienced authentic Turkish cuisine while on holiday in Turkey, but the food at Truva did not feel very authentic. The Turkish food at the nearby Olive Garden, just 500m away, is generally much better. I was genuinely disappointed as I was hoping for this new restaurant to be good. Hopefully, they can improve the food as everything else about the restaurant was very good."

"Farmer browns used to be one of my favourite places to eat when I lived in the neighbourhood. I hadn't been to the restaurant in a couple of years when I booked in over the weekend. I was really disappointed. The decor has gone really shabby, and the restaurant felt grubby. There was different music playing inside and outside on the terrace, and with the door open, that became really distracting. We were the only people sitting inside the restaurant, and it was really quiet outside two, with just a couple of tables filled. Despite this, the table next to us remained stacked with plates and food left from previous diners for 20 minutes. When our starters arrived, one of the waitstaff started hovering next to us. Our drinks came warm. The starter of chicken wings was nice, but that was the highlight of the meal. Service was extremely slow we waited about 45 minutes between our starters and main. My partner's order was wrong, and my salad had no dressing on it. Despite all of this, it was pricey. It's a shame to see a once famous eatery lose its charm. I hope it will regain it."

"It was better than any food I had in England. It was 48 pounds of beef Wellington, and the Wellington meat was so tender, the mushroom flavor was amazing, and the sauce was perfect, not too salty or strong. The bread served with the potatoes is also a bit hard, but it goes very well together. I drank the recommended wine and it went very well with Wellington. The Beef Wellington season at nearby Kerridge's Bar Grill was over, so the chef there recommended it, and I'm sure the chef would cook high-quality food, too. The food and service here were better than any restaurant I've experienced in London. I hope you stop by and experience Wellington and pie."

"I went on a date here. And the buffalo mozzarella on sourdough bread was wow!!! We had the specials vegetarian pizza with Artichokes, ricotta, red and yellow tomatoes and mozzarella. The place was quiet on a weekday evening and it was pleasant as we could have a conversation without any loud music. The service was pretty good, and food came within 15 mins. I think they should have more vegetarian and vegan options in the paper menu"

"Haven't been here for a while, so I thought I would give it another go. Again this little gem satisfied my hunger craving. As you walk in you get a good feeling as it is clean and welcoming. Tonight I went for the lamb patty wrap, peri peri chips, coleslaw and a drink. The lamb patty was a tasty delight, it had a bit of spice and heat to it but not too overpowering and it was a delicious wrap. I had the peri peri spice with mine but you can choose your own flavouring to go with the patty. The chips were cooked well with a sprinkling of peri peri shake, again well seasoned. If you tag yourself into the place you can receive free rice, chicken wings or chicken strips. I went for the buffalo chicken strips and they were again a taste sensation. The staff were friendly and welcoming which is always a good sign If you are ever at the bottom of the high street and are peckish then this is the place to go .. recommended"

"We have visited this place last week, after an appointment in town. Place was almost empty, but that's to be expected. I wasn't very well, not virus related, but needed a coffee, a bite to eat and a sit down. We only dealt with one...member of staff. She wasn't wearing a mask, which I would expect her to wear. She was quite rude and sarcastic to me, and I didn't appreciate that. Despite this, I decided to stay as needed to sit, eat and drink. Although it was still left before they closed, she's almost refused to serve us, rushed us, and when I asked about extras for my coffee, stating that I couldn't see very well due to headache, she wasn't helpful at all, so I just went without. All in all, good coffee, food could be better, although it wasn't bad, staff definitely need to improve their social and customer skills, and if they don't want to be working during pandemic, they should stay at home. I would not recommend it, and won't be going back."
