"I'm a fan of nandos. I respect nandos. I'll tell you why. let's be honest, no chain can really claim highest priority in cooking from any particular dish. so I mean, it's hard to find dishes that a chain restaurant always cooks better than an independent one. nandos has his recipe in the sense that no one else peri peri huhn as well as they do. whenever I go to nandos, his half-whn for me, medium-wrough (extremely seasoned is recommended only to superheroes, side the fries and depending on my mood mais on the cob or coleslaw. I really recommend the chicken comb. reason is that the restaurant does the best. Forget the slightly boring chickenburger. The rest comes beyond eating. Here nando has something to do. first, the drinks she offered are scarce and the self-service system is quite annoying. second, nandos has a bad habit to leave its clean tables, teller, toilets, etc. dirty! I have not yet found the solution to keep its restaurants really clean (what is right? . finally, nandos sometimes makes it easy to feel like her in a chicken factory. I don't know why this is exactly how to describe it a hard feeling. my general belief is that by paying the cash system and taking normal waiter, nado 's could significantly improve the dining room experience. but don't let these last points go in theirs, especially if you've never been. one must go to nando once in his life. ps: nandos comes from South Africa and is one of the most famous brands of the country! as I said: I respect nando’s."

"We had an 8pm reservation and arrived a couple of minutes beforehand. Despite being able to find the reservation in the system, there was no table for us until 8.20pm. In the meantime, another party with a later reservation came in and was seated. I appreciate that their party was larger and was therefore given the larger table that became available first, but still think it reflects poorly on the restaurant that they weren’t organised for a booking. The staff were polite and briefly apologetic but didn’t seem too bothered by their error. The food itself was good. We had tempura prawns to start, which came with a delicious dipping sauce. I then had a fillet steak for my main course. I ordered rare but what I received was more akin to medium rare and even medium in parts. Only the very middle was rare. This might be due to the ‘tall’ nature of the cut (see pictures). The medium rare ribeye was good. The sides were huge. We barely finished the truffle chips between us. The mac ‘n’ cheese was OK – I would have preferred it without the crumb topping as in my opinion it has no place in the dish. It was described on the menu as having this though, so I knew what I was getting myself into. The service was mostly good, though there was one member of the wait staff who seemed a bit out of their depth. They were very young and I think perhaps new. Luckily it was very quiet (I think we were the last table seated that evening, so by the time we were onto our mains, the place was dead) so this wasn’t much of a problem. There is just one toilet, an accessible bathroom and baby change combo. I was disappointed to see the emergency pull cord tied up out of reach, rendering the bathroom unsuitable for some disabled customers. The bathroom in general was not overly clean and in need of refurbishment. In my experience, the place is not deserving of the current 4.3 star Google or 4.5 star Trip Advisor ratings, but has potential if management can sort out the issues listed above. I would like to score 3.5 but as this is not possible, I am going to round down on this occasion."

"We had visited this restaurant before and found it mediocre at the time, so decided to give it another go. Never again, the food was absolutely atrocious. I don’t eat red meat so the only alternative was a chicken dish. I decided not to invest in a burger as I was sure about the flours or quality. I decided on a relatively easy option which I mistakenly thought would be done with some expertise. I settled on a Louisiana Chilli chicken which was supposed to have a special spice rub before barbecuing. When it came this was not barbecued, rather it had been broiled in a bottle sauce with soggy rubbery skin that tasted disgusting. I had also ordered a side of fries that never materialised. My daughter and art net had the buy one get one half price burger which came with a side of fries and a drink. They chose milkshake for which they had to pay an extra £3 each and a mac n’ cheese side. The milkshakes were so thick you couldn’t suck them up the straw. My daughter sent hers back so that they could actually add some milk to allow the milkshake to be fluid, the texture was awful as the kinder bueno hadn’t been blended enough. She also didn’t enjoy her burger which had no flavor. The best thing about that meal was the fries which were excellent. We had to send the mac n’ cheese back because it was literally like cardboard with cheese grated on top. They did decide not to charge us for the mac n’ cheese, regardless this was a really bad experience."

"Having successfully deposited our eldest in her new Uni digs and having enjoyed an evenings kip in an adjoining Manchester hotel we were in two minds where to breakfast. MrsC’s growing angst over the likely state of our home after allowing our youngest free rein for a garden party proved persuasive so we decided on an early exit an victuals en route. A scan of Happy Cow and Google combined allied to our southbound travel threw up Wild and Wild as a convenient stop off before we rejoined the M6. Pleased to see that it opened at 10;00am on a Sunday whilst registering our likely arrival at 10:15 we added the required SatNav waypoint and trained our behemoth on its new path. There was convenient free parking on the Sunday and we ambled on the pedestrianised section to Wild and Wild; sitting slightly incongruously next to a Costa. The place is light and well laid out and an enticing array of cakes and pastries greets you as you enter. The usual instructive board informed us “to please wait to be seated” which we did. The young lady who appeared to be both front of house, barista and server said she would be with us after serving her present customer; which was fine but, in truth, simply having the menus on the tables and allowing you to sit yourself at empty unreserved tables would seemed to have been the least intrusive and effective means of managing the flow? Anyway we were handed drinks/food menus and then informed that we could, in effect, do exactly that and seat ourselves. The breakfast/brunch menu was concise but convincing and for speed and efficiency MrsC and I settled on two “full English”, vegan of course, and two oat milk lattes. Queued again and gave the order and paid there and then. Though we haven’t been out too much recently the coffee prices seemed about right but the breakfast seemed a tad high. Understanding how inflation is hitting that might just be an impression but if we had stayed in Manchester and returned to the Lounge a similar menu would have been 30% less. Then it started going awry. The wait for the coffee seemed long; the wait for the food almost interminable (around 40-45 mins in truth) Halfway through that wait another server had magicked into operation and it switched from queuing to order to table service. She was professional enough to highlight to new incoming customers that drinks would be about 10 mins/food 30. Something not considered worthy of note to us earlier arrivals. The breakfast was ok. The vegan sausages appeared homemade with rice wrapper “skins” but they were woefully dry and overcooked. The whole vine of oven roasted cherry tomatoes were good as was the star of the show the Smokey “baked beans”. The toast was good quality bread but cut too thin to successfully soak up both beans and the sweet tomatoes. The other components of mixed greens and mushrooms and tofu scramble were under seasoned and a little bland. The potato rosti was a little dense but ok. Sadly the food was underwhelming and more so due to the long wait; ill fitting the vibe and the surroundings especially as the place wasn’t heaving at any time. Always feel awkward knocking eateries in these uncertain times but, in this case, expectations raised by the feel of the place allied to the prices charged, we’re not met by the quality of the food. Perhaps it’s better suited to an afternoon cake and a drink session? Disappointed."

"the love green place, glassvegas, glasschu or simply glassgow. whatever they prefer to call it, than I have a soft spot for Scottish second city. yet despite the fact that it is only 40 miles and 50 minutes away on the train, from any reason I don't seem to visit Scottland's largest metropole anywhere as often as I should, despite the fact that there are some great places to eat and drink. the center of glasgow is architecturally stunning and very different from edinburgh. like birmingham – the city of my birth – it grew out of the industrial revolution, and similar is the city center still decorated with many of the great Victorian buildings from its industrial richness. central glasgow is also designed in a network system that – it is adorned – is the one that is now such a prominent function of new york. it has even doubled as the big apple on a series of filmshoots. how reasonable that if jml and I were caught with some friends in glasgow last weekend, one of the members of our party suggested that we go to lunch in ad lib – a new york inspired esserei is a stone through away from the great central station of the city (berry!) to be honest, there was no place crucible from which I had heard before, but I love the romlands the frontage of ad lib is certainly underestimated – not the brash americana, which could be expected due to its culinary specialization – and my first thought was to pass through the door that was the place “toty”. Nevertheless, I was actually greeted by a slim but cleverly stylish dining room that leads to bar and the main restaurant area, and which corresponds to million walls, cubic wood furniture and tasteful US-influenced art works. In summary, this had more of a knot to frank lloyd wright than trump towers, I am happy to say. beyond the bar, the airy dining room offers more of this stylish, greenwich Village-Esque-Vibe. but already enough about the decor, what about eating? the lunch menu of ad lib is in a “I really can’t understand what to have” somehow. inviting sound starters and nets, deli-Salate and sandwiches, gourmetburger, steak and hummer (I don't want, and a Burgeoning speciality board for attention. for the purposes of this review, I will focus on what jml and I have consumed, as I try to cover what eight people have eaten, could only stretch a bit too far a point. oh, and with regard to drinks, I should point out that ad lib serves the excellent Portuguese camp, which is more sayin' on draft, which means that this was our quaff of the choice. in the choice of a court to proceed, I was a bit torn. the salt and the pfeffer squid, and cajun prawn popcorn sounded both really inviting, but at the end it was the sticky melass baby back ripening, with chili and star anise as me won over. they certainly have not disappointed, with perfectly delicate meat decorated in a sticky sweet-rich-spicy sauce, with a cuddly fresh tomatensalsa. the starter of jml consisted of three “sliders” (why so named? – Mini-classic aberdeen angus burger accompanied by a wobble relish. these were certainly tasty, with the relish a beautiful contrast to the Umami taste of the bark, but perhaps the burgers were just so easy on the dry side. read full review by: [hidden link]"
