"We went to Remos to enjoy one of their ice cream sundaes, but were extremely disappointed with both the service and the sundae. The staff didn't seem as friendly as usual and rather blunt. Worst of all was the fact that they had no Turkish delight ice cream, no strawberry or toffee sauce, and we had no apology for our disappointment. We had also ordered two glasses of water which never arrived. We always make a point of visiting Remos when we come down for a visit, but this has made us wonder if us pensioners should come to Remos in the future. Sorry to put a review like this but we were both upset, especially paying nearly £15 for the experience."

"We love this place. Third time here, as we always stop by when flying from Manchester Airport. Glad it didn’t disappoint as usual because not used MAN in a while. Great view of planes landing, so gets you in the holiday mood. Food is lovely and plentiful, service friendly and it's clean. What more could you want? We worry though that more holiday makers won't stumble across this place like we did years ago when using Jet Car Parks. They have changed the roads around the airport now, so it's a bit more off the beaten track. But seek it out if you can."

"The table that was reserved for us was far too small for 4 adults so we moved to the booth. There was no mango chutney with the curry but no one bothered to say you had run out. The meat in the steak and ale pie was very tough. The vegan pizza, nachos, and crispy bites were delicious, would be even better if the veggie burger was also vegan Vegetarian options: Good few choices of vegan food Price per person: £10–20"

"The food was very good. Although they had a couple of items unavailable (understandable at times). However, the customer service left a lot to be desired. We had to ask someone for another round of drinks. Also our dishes were collected after eating our mains, and we were left to our own devices. Nobody informed us that the kitchen was closing. So my husband was unable to indulge in his favourite pudding. Then the icing on the cake was management refusal to accept Scottish £20 notes (although they are legal tender) Again there was no prior warning given, hence only a 3."

"Green Lodge in Hoylake exceeded all expectations! From the warm welcome to the impeccable service, every moment was delightful. The menu boasts a culinary masterpiece, but the Ham Hock stole the show – absolutely divine! Each bite was a flavor explosion. The attentive staff added a personal touch, making the entire experience exceptional. Green Lodge stands out for its perfect blend of great food, fantastic service, and an ambiance that makes you feel right at home. A must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in Hoylake!"

"We came to see Coda, but ended up with Letz Zep our first visit to this little pub. The food was ok and the event itself was reasonable even though it was raining and the tents leaked plus the lead singer should have given up a long time ago ! Whlie I initially liked the village pub feel almost like my own village so the wobbly tables and broken bits I just viewed as quirky it quickly became clear there were some weird policies. The website said we must call and book our car parking in advance so we did, only to be told we didn 't need to at all so why put it on the website? . The loo downstairs, which I was directed to in the intermission, was really gross brown water in the loo and baby changing right next to it. Definitely needs a good clean, as did the ladies inside I was glad to be at an event outside tbh. The food also had to be ordered in advance and the website said must be paid for in cash although on the night they said that too was not the case and we could pay by card again, why put it on the website? . Then I tried to buy a glass of wine to go with my £8 potatoe no salad, no garnish at all and was told I must buy a whole bottle for £23. I 've only come across that policy at the big exploitative 80s festivals and was quite shocked. When I queried I was told I 'd have fun if I drank a whole bottle and if not I could complain to the landlady. I declined to do that at the time, choosing instead to feedback via email, privately. I duly sent an emailI and then responsded to theirs saying please let us know should the policy change. The next day I received yet another email, tis time from the landlady, telling me basically that I should have come to see her at the time and why I was incorrect in my feedback. I replied, because all the reasons she gave for not selling wine by the glass made no actual logial sense, esp because they weren 't applied to any other measures of alcohol ... I then received a very long email from the landlord accusing me of sending long tiresome emails and telling me how in the wrong I am and that they obviously cannot placate me. Sadly it 's evidently that this is our pub and if you like it you 're welcome, but if you give us any feedback we don 't agree with, then you are an unreasonable customer! . A great shame that feedback is received so unprofessionally and the overreaction was so rude, especially considering selling wine by the glass and bottle is entirely normal, and boxes of wine actually work our cheaper . A pretty dismal night has become a very negative experience for me, and I 'm reminded yet again not to bother trying to feedback privately it 's not appreicated should have just written this review to begin with."

"The restaurant staff are consistently helpful and friendly. The food is consistently delicious and made with fresh ingredients. They have the best milkshakes in the country. This restaurant is great for a dine-in experience, especially for dinner. The price per person ranges from £10 to £20."

"Found on the seafront in South Bay across from the harbour. Popped in for a breakfast which are served until midday. We both had a breakfast sandwich each and a pot of tea. Enjoyed the sausages. Clean and bright premises with friendly and helpful staff. Very nice place, as a local will certainly visit again."

"The owner of this establishment almost ran me over in the street today near my home whilst driving his car at an unacceptable speed. He reversed his car back to shout at me and then did a full loop of the town to come back and shout at me again 5 minutes later whilst I was chatting to a gentleman who had visited Lyme Regis to see the house that he was born in for what he said would be the last time. Someone I had never met before. We shared lovely conversation and hugs. The owner of LBK on his second run up my street swore at me, told me to look at his private number plate on his car (LBK whatever) and told me not to go to the restaurant again. Considering that I live in Lyme Regis and support his business all year, dining there most Sundays (even when the tourists have left for the winter) how dare he behave in such a manner. Not acceptable. I would strongly recommend that nobody frequents LBK if this is the way that one will be treated. I am beyond disgusted."

"bang average. Very cold bar to sit in for a lunch, wasn't able to take jacket of the whole time I was here, even when eating. Service was slow, fizzy juice was flat, food didn't have much flavour and was cold in parts so i suspect it was just heated up in the microwave as some parts were piping hot and some parts were stone cold. This place has unfortunately gone very downhill so wouldn't return next time I am in Orkney and wouldn't recommend to anyone else visiting. Much better options available. the menu looked very promising and had a good variety of choices but unfortunately they just didn't have the chef to live up to it."

"I have visited this restaurant many times over the years and this is the first negative review I have ever written for any establishment, but my experience was shockingly poor. We went for breakfast on a late morning midweek when it wasn't busy and were seated right by the window at the door. It took a long time to order drinks and even longer to order food. It took 20 minutes for our two breakfast dishes to arrive. My omelette was dry, falling apart, and basically a scrambled mess. When I posted about it on social media, I received various comments asking what I was eating (without mentioning where I was). My friend had avocado toast and when I asked him how it was, he just shook his head. We both ate most of our meals because we had to get back to work, but I left a third of mine because it was so dry. No one checked back on our food or offered us another drink when we had finished. A couple of young female staff members were busy chatting with customers at the counter and didn't clear our dirty plates. When my friend got up to make a phone call, I had to ask another staff member for the bill, which was not ideal. There was no conversation or even a simple thank you as we left. I'm not sure why I left a tip, perhaps out of habit. It felt like nobody cared about the food or the service. The staff on the floor didn't engage with the customers and only interacted with each other and their friends who came in for takeout. I have not returned since and likely won't, as I was truly disappointed. It used to be a great place, but not anymore."
"Went for a family meal. Pub was very dated, service from staff was really quick, friendly waitresses. Been wanting to go for ages having had a lot of recommendations from friends about different dishes- noticed on the menu that the grilled cheese sandwiches and gyros people have raved about weren’t on the menu? Not sure if they had a simplified menu due to covid? Also you don’t do starters?! Unsure why? One of our favourite things about coming to a restaurant as a family is ordering a variety of starters just so we can have a pick at different food. Myself and kids ordered the burgers, can I say the portion sizes are absolutely huge and even though I have a big appetite I could have shared a main meal. Very good value for money, chips were delicious, burger was a bit dry but definately not the worst we’ve had. Would come for another visit but hope you extend the menu"

"The most expensive of our seven stays on the NC500 and the only one that did not offer a FULL BREAKFAST but a continental breakfast. Do not get confused with the continental breakfast you might get in Europe when on holiday, this consisted of processed ham and cheese, not dissimilar to that you might by in a packet from a supermarket. Orange juice was not fresh. On the plus side, the tea was hot. Our room overlooked the unkept smoking area with ashtrays not emptied for days and rubbish left all over the area. For the price. It felt like we were a captive audience with little regard for our pleasure or enjoyment. Sadly in western Scotland, alternatives are extremely limited."

"This place is truly a hidden gem. It's quirky and charming, with an extensive menu that has something for everyone. The food is delicious, and the staff is wonderful. We started with the sticky chicken pudding, which may be the best I've ever had, along with the black pudding and haggis fritters, which were fantastic. For main courses, I had the gnocchi with spinach, while my mother enjoyed the chicken, leek, and mushroom cake, which was amazing. For dessert, we shared the tablet bakery sundae, featuring chocolate brownie, caramel shortcake, and flapjack – absolutely delicious! I can't wait to return and try more of the menu. I highly recommend this place, and it's also dog-friendly!"

"Even though the restaurant was empty, my food took a surprisingly long time to arrive. When my burger finally came, I was asked if I needed anything else. I requested mayo, and they brought out a full bottle to the table. After applying some mayo, I discovered the real reason for the delay: the burger was burnt and greasy. Throughout my visit, only one other customer came in and left, which confirmed that the staff seemed more focused on chatting among themselves than attending to patrons. To make matters worse, the restroom was in an unacceptable state, with one side covered in mess. There’s really no excuse for that kind of hygiene. It must be incredibly frustrating for the owner to have such indifferent staff who don’t seem to care about their customers or their work."
