"The most expensive of our seven stays on the NC500 and the only one that did not offer a FULL BREAKFAST but a continental breakfast. Do not get confused with the continental breakfast you might get in Europe when on holiday, this consisted of processed ham and cheese, not dissimilar to that you might by in a packet from a supermarket. Orange juice was not fresh. On the plus side, the tea was hot. Our room overlooked the unkept smoking area with ashtrays not emptied for days and rubbish left all over the area. For the price. It felt like we were a captive audience with little regard for our pleasure or enjoyment. Sadly in western Scotland, alternatives are extremely limited."

I stayed for one night, the room was lovely, the staff were friendly. I had a great night in the bar. Lovely continental breakfast. Superb location with a view onto the loch.

Place was dark, dingy and the unpleasant smell was surpassed only by that in the Ferry Boat Inn at the other end of Shore Street. We’ve ate in here before and the standard was pretty good, very disappointing place now.

Called in here for drinks when staying at Ullapool. Great pub and we suddenly realised that there was live music coming on. It was a lad playing electric accordian and singing. He was brilliant. A lively night with a good atmosphere.

Went here for a couple of beers when staying in Ullapool. God little pub with lots of pub atmosphere which is missing in most places these days , so if your in Ullapool and fancy a couple of beers at a very decent price for the area then this is the place for you , enjoy View menu

There is no restaurant at the Arch Inn. This has been closed for some time. We stayed for 2 nights and had to book elsewhere to eat on both nights, which was a shame. A continental breakfast was available. Bedrooms were good and comfortable and Bar was ok, shame about lack of food.

Booked to stay for two nights having been there several times in the past and always was first choice for Ullapool. Knew that they were no longer serving food but disappointed with minimal choice of 'continental ' breakfast. While the rooms are still of a good standard the bar seems to have become very much 'locals only ' with perfunctory service offered to guests.

Stayed one night in the hotel. The room was small but clean and staff were friendly. The view over the harbour was lovely and continental breakfast was ample. There are several restaurants close by. We didn’t eat at the Arch Inn so can’t comment on their food. Simple, clean accommodation. Only complaint is wifi didn’t reach our room on third floor so we had to connect in the breakfast room. Stayed 2 nights, Friday/Saturday ready to catch ferry to Stornoway on Sunday. Room very comfortable and clean, continental breakfast excellent, a fair choice. Kelly very helpful. When I booked they were still doing evening meals, but when I arrived they had stopped doing them, but Kelly, again very helpful, and told me where I could get one nearby. The only draw back was the noise on the Saturday night, please be aware if you want peace and quiet.

We had a lovely meal. The helpings were generous. The staff and atmosphere were good. Two of the party had mussels which they really enjoyed. I had steak and surf, with two of the largest prawns I have seen for a very long time. The steak was perfectly cooked. Desserts were a dream. Good toilet facilities. It would have been five stars except there is no telephone booking. We had a 45 minute wait, enough time to go to a different establishment for a drink as the bar there was full. This was outside of the main tourist season
