"Went yesterday with a couple of friends expecting a wonderful lunch and pleasant atmosphere, as was the case on numerous previous occasions, only to be greeted with an empty restaurant (red flag 1 . We walked up to the bar to ask if they were open and were told yes, and to go sit wherever, menus are on the left, come order and pay at the bar because there is no table service as it 's apparently 'fully booked ' even though it was empty save for one other table (red flag 2 . We chose a table (which looked like it hadn 't been wiped down properly red flag 3 , looked through the menus and went to order I wanted the mixed meat Sunday roast (beef, pork, chicken and lamb only to be told it comes up as 'Three meat roast ' on the till and the price was different from the menu (red flag 4 , when I queried why that was the case the woman serving us went to the kitchen to 'double check ' only to come out again and say the till is programmed differently (red flag 5 . Person serving us obviously did not know how to operate till, did not know how to talk to customers and was very short with us despite having an empty restaurant (red flag 6 . My friend ordered food and a cup of tea which came up on the receipt as 'flat white ' (red flag 7 . Went back to our table to wait for food, which arrived relatively quickly but the meat was LUKEWARM, the potatoes were UNDERCOOKED and portion sizes had massively reduced, and when friend queried why the tea hadn 't arrived yet halfway through the meal was told they were just 'starting up the machine ' (to boil water for tea??? . We ate what we could and left the rest thinking we 'd get food poisoning, and left quickly friend never received that tea she paid for. Found out later that the restaurant is now under new management as the original owners had closed it down in May due to rising costs, and new owners clearly have no hospitality experience and are living off of the restaurant 's previous excellent reputation I doubt this place will survive much longer considering how awful the food and experience are!"

"Booked a table in advance, as I was planning to visit on a Sunday morning. Arrived at my booked time, no greeting from any of the numerous staff members. Waited until I was approached by a grey haired waitress who would be more at home on a parade ground it would seem. She seemed to think the best way to approach a customer was to bark “name?” at me before bothering to ask if I’d made a booking or not. She then casually wandered off, returning a few minutes later to ask my name again. Was shown a table, given a menu and within literally 2.5 mins of me sitting down, she was over asking for my order. I had to politely say that I wasn’t sure yet and could I have a few more minutes; she seemed to think it was ok to sigh and wander off again. Very odd behaviour indeed. I heard her berating another table of two for their audacity to assume they didn’t have to book, and how she’d need the table back in 45 mins or less. I ordered the small breakfast, and it was mediocre at best. Poached egg was hard all the way through, one measly veggie sausage which was tasteless and some veggie haggis that was bland and cold. Really not worth the price tag. I’ve no idea how this place is still in business. The extremely rude woman who is front of house seems to have a reputation for being awful, as read in other reviews. And the food is nothing to write about. Sadly I won’t be back, nor would I recommend Heaven Scent to anyone I like!"

"After having some quite dismal experiences around Chinatown, we decided to have a brunch in a more posh area with well reputed Dim Sum. It was pure bliss for a foodie. I have tried Dim Sum many Places outside Hong Kong but this was the closest I have come so far. When we arrived, there was a waiting queue not unexpected on a sunday, but getting a raffle ticket , and told the wait was approx. 20 mins quite agreeable they have a Picture menu , and it looked VERY promising so checking out the Hood for a little while in Londons first snow of the year, was only whetting the appetite. When we came back, it was not a long wait until we were led to a table, seated, and presented with menues When it comes to Dim Sum, I always feel like one of everything please but wisely we settled for doing 2 rounds favourites first, then a exploratory second round just to fill up any suspected crannies in the tummy. We started off with Prawn Chive Duplings deliciously fresh steamed, and crunchy prawns perfectly cooked then Prawn Dumplings also perfect crunch off to Minced Pork Dumpling with Shrimp a staple any Dim Sum cannot do without Honey Roast Pork Puffs, warm crunchy pastry with a tangy filling, then my all time favourite Cheung Fun with Prawns, a dumply chewy roll with a dark soy sauce do dip in and some Pan Fried Gyozas all enjoyed with steaming Jasmine Tea a feast fit for an Chinese Emperor. The tummy was feeling the effort here, but stil too many tempting items on the menu round two was considered and given a go ahead. Scallop Dumplings a tender taste spiced nearly to perfection, a second og at the Cheung Fun this time Honey Roast Pork, some Sesame Prawn Rolls, which was the suprise of the day crunchy, sesame nutty and super crunchy prawns it formerly exploded of taste in the mouth I lack words to describe it. Rounded of with Glutinous Rice in Lotus Leaf, steamed and tasty. We split a Mango Pudding in the end I dont think either of us would have been able to finish one off alone. Tasty, and definitely something I will try to play around with in the home Kitchen as well. It was`nt cheap but then again if you value whats on your plate by quality and tasty experience I would say this was a good buy! Next time in London, I`ll definitely be back!"
