"Been here twice recently and both times it was fantastic. Service was very good and the waitress (Maya) was really helpful in recommending dishes. Food was very tasty and I really recommend the Kollwada Calamari which I had on both visits. My second visit was also for my birthday and the staff were very keen to get involved and sing happy birthday which was nice. Location wise it's right outside off the station and I think reasonably priced for the food overall. If I were to offer improvement it would be nice to have an option of a bigger Naan and the cocktails were a little disappointing. That said it's definitely worth a visit."

"last night had a wonderful experience in lanthong. we booked in advance, as we were uncertain how busy it would be. we were personally welcomed what was really nice and sitting, the restaurant was empty for a group of 4 but the atmosphere was really nice because it was quiet, intimate and relaxing. and meant the service was quite fast! we told us that it was not necessary to book during the week, but it is in the rule a good idea to book for a Friday or Saturday night. we ordered a few starters: thai dim sum and thai fish cakes. both are really delicious. then we ordered a chicken thai green curry to share, I had the honey duck breast and my faust had a hot beef red curry. we had a jasmine rice each. there was a lot of food and it was absolutely heavenly. the whole food was presented beautifully. we asked to take home what was left of the currys and ordered desserts. I had bananenfritter with ice that was incredible and my fiance had a pistachio and saffron ice. we will definitely be back, I can't believe we were not earlier! we look forward to our next visit."

"we first abused ourselves for a Friday night and then, when we arrived on Sunday, we were dealing with a laugh and a sweat. gastgeber could not have been nicer or easier to treat. we had received an e-mail to tell us that...music would play Friday and Sat night, so that anyone who makes a problem would not have the opportunity to book. our dinner was excellent and not to all praise. the personal was also friendly and polite and the Genrel atmosphere with the native was very pleasant. the rooms were fantastic and a constant warm temperature. no disadvantages for our stay and we look forward to a return journey in the summer months"

"I was disappointed by this tapas bar, after all the hype it had to be the best tapas place in london and with so many filials. an evening place is safe, before booking required. the place is a little cramped, so it is easy to relax and eat as much as they can. as it works, they need to pick up their tapas from the main that is refilled from time to time. drinks are served on the table. the fact that they miss many tapas, as it depends on how busy the place is, how close they sit at the mainbar so that they can find that delicious cache too foot, and all these dynamics makes it necessary to have happiness for them. the tapas are well done. there is a lot...read more"

"Staying locally in a cottage, most decent local restaurants closed on Tuesday (and Methuen Arms had a leak in the kitchen). Decided to have a takeaway despite mixed reviews. There was plenty of food, we had the mixed starter for 2. The spring rolls were enormous but tasteless, the prawn toast stodgy and bland, the ribs were in a tasteless gravy, not much meat and fatty. For main courses we had Singapore spicy rice, there was loads, but it smelt and tasted of Chinese curry powder. The king po pork was very fatty and greasy, with tasteless veg. The szechuan chicken was, once again very bland, and not much chicken evident. A waste of £40, but it was Chinese New Year today, perhaps the chef was on holiday!"
"I rang on the 6th of November to book a table for 12 for the 26th , I was told that the events team will call back to make a booking as it was a bigger booking by Wednesday 15th I still hadn't heard so I rang them and they were so matter of fact about it and no apology their customer service needs to be looked at so unfortunately they lost out especially the big tip they would have got as we had 3 birthday celebrations and my sister in law from France was coming over . We have never eaten there before but we always wanted to try it"

"Went yesterday with a couple of friends expecting a wonderful lunch and pleasant atmosphere, as was the case on numerous previous occasions, only to be greeted with an empty restaurant (red flag 1 . We walked up to the bar to ask if they were open and were told yes, and to go sit wherever, menus are on the left, come order and pay at the bar because there is no table service as it 's apparently 'fully booked ' even though it was empty save for one other table (red flag 2 . We chose a table (which looked like it hadn 't been wiped down properly red flag 3 , looked through the menus and went to order I wanted the mixed meat Sunday roast (beef, pork, chicken and lamb only to be told it comes up as 'Three meat roast ' on the till and the price was different from the menu (red flag 4 , when I queried why that was the case the woman serving us went to the kitchen to 'double check ' only to come out again and say the till is programmed differently (red flag 5 . Person serving us obviously did not know how to operate till, did not know how to talk to customers and was very short with us despite having an empty restaurant (red flag 6 . My friend ordered food and a cup of tea which came up on the receipt as 'flat white ' (red flag 7 . Went back to our table to wait for food, which arrived relatively quickly but the meat was LUKEWARM, the potatoes were UNDERCOOKED and portion sizes had massively reduced, and when friend queried why the tea hadn 't arrived yet halfway through the meal was told they were just 'starting up the machine ' (to boil water for tea??? . We ate what we could and left the rest thinking we 'd get food poisoning, and left quickly friend never received that tea she paid for. Found out later that the restaurant is now under new management as the original owners had closed it down in May due to rising costs, and new owners clearly have no hospitality experience and are living off of the restaurant 's previous excellent reputation I doubt this place will survive much longer considering how awful the food and experience are!"

"I had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant, so I decided to check it out. One thing that surprised me was the HMC notice outside, but there was no certificate inside indicating when they were certified halal. There was also no sign indicating that the restaurant served halal food, as one would expect. I decided to order the mixed grill platter, which came in a pizza box because they had run out of containers. Unfortunately, the mixed grill was not good. The kebabs seemed to be frozen Lola kebabs, the tikkas were not marinated thoroughly and were too tough and slightly undercooked. The malai chicken was similar in taste, while the green chicken was the only flavorful item. Overall, the food lacked flavor and was unpleasant. I also ordered bhel, which was not authentic. However, the paani puri was delicious with the right flavors, good value for money, and was fresh. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant, and my "average" rating is quite generous."

"8 of us went here for a birthday celebration, and having seen so many positive reviews on trip advisor chose to go out of our way to Youngs in Wembley. The restaurant itself looked terrible on the outside, and was also terrible on the inside and had a funny smell. Nothing about the decor would indicate you were in a Chinese restaurant, except the chop sticks on the tables. Decor aside we were hopeful about the food but were left sorely disappointed. Food was bland and one of our guests couldn’t eat his beef dish at all as it tasted off. There was just one person serving and the service was very hit and miss despite only one other table of two occupied. We paid the bill and left as quick as we possibly could."

"Booked a table in advance, as I was planning to visit on a Sunday morning. Arrived at my booked time, no greeting from any of the numerous staff members. Waited until I was approached by a grey haired waitress who would be more at home on a parade ground it would seem. She seemed to think the best way to approach a customer was to bark “name?” at me before bothering to ask if I’d made a booking or not. She then casually wandered off, returning a few minutes later to ask my name again. Was shown a table, given a menu and within literally 2.5 mins of me sitting down, she was over asking for my order. I had to politely say that I wasn’t sure yet and could I have a few more minutes; she seemed to think it was ok to sigh and wander off again. Very odd behaviour indeed. I heard her berating another table of two for their audacity to assume they didn’t have to book, and how she’d need the table back in 45 mins or less. I ordered the small breakfast, and it was mediocre at best. Poached egg was hard all the way through, one measly veggie sausage which was tasteless and some veggie haggis that was bland and cold. Really not worth the price tag. I’ve no idea how this place is still in business. The extremely rude woman who is front of house seems to have a reputation for being awful, as read in other reviews. And the food is nothing to write about. Sadly I won’t be back, nor would I recommend Heaven Scent to anyone I like!"

"So happy to see the River Inn have opened The Mill in their car park while the main restaurant is closed as we love their food. We visited on Saturday, it’s a really good set up and the service was fantastic, nothing was a hassle, even when they were so busy! The soup and sandwiches were delicious and my daughter had the macaroni cheese and chips which was a very generous portion, she loved it. My son had the home made sausage rolls and said they were very tasty. I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for something a bit different"

"After having some quite dismal experiences around Chinatown, we decided to have a brunch in a more posh area with well reputed Dim Sum. It was pure bliss for a foodie. I have tried Dim Sum many Places outside Hong Kong but this was the closest I have come so far. When we arrived, there was a waiting queue not unexpected on a sunday, but getting a raffle ticket , and told the wait was approx. 20 mins quite agreeable they have a Picture menu , and it looked VERY promising so checking out the Hood for a little while in Londons first snow of the year, was only whetting the appetite. When we came back, it was not a long wait until we were led to a table, seated, and presented with menues When it comes to Dim Sum, I always feel like one of everything please but wisely we settled for doing 2 rounds favourites first, then a exploratory second round just to fill up any suspected crannies in the tummy. We started off with Prawn Chive Duplings deliciously fresh steamed, and crunchy prawns perfectly cooked then Prawn Dumplings also perfect crunch off to Minced Pork Dumpling with Shrimp a staple any Dim Sum cannot do without Honey Roast Pork Puffs, warm crunchy pastry with a tangy filling, then my all time favourite Cheung Fun with Prawns, a dumply chewy roll with a dark soy sauce do dip in and some Pan Fried Gyozas all enjoyed with steaming Jasmine Tea a feast fit for an Chinese Emperor. The tummy was feeling the effort here, but stil too many tempting items on the menu round two was considered and given a go ahead. Scallop Dumplings a tender taste spiced nearly to perfection, a second og at the Cheung Fun this time Honey Roast Pork, some Sesame Prawn Rolls, which was the suprise of the day crunchy, sesame nutty and super crunchy prawns it formerly exploded of taste in the mouth I lack words to describe it. Rounded of with Glutinous Rice in Lotus Leaf, steamed and tasty. We split a Mango Pudding in the end I dont think either of us would have been able to finish one off alone. Tasty, and definitely something I will try to play around with in the home Kitchen as well. It was`nt cheap but then again if you value whats on your plate by quality and tasty experience I would say this was a good buy! Next time in London, I`ll definitely be back!"

"First time I have been invited to the Blue Orchid restaurant. At first the environment it looked a bit shabby, a bit cold like a restaurant that is going to close down, having doors with broken glass and sellotaped plus indian music very high in one side of the restaurant that we couldn't understand each other. But then when the important things came meaning the food I was surprised for the taste, and portions.. Also the waiters were so nice and assisting me and my friends in everything including when we asked to lower down a bit the volume of the music... I will definitely go back again"

"Fabulous little cafe. Went on a Friday evening, did book but there were a couple of tables free during the evening. Lovely lady called sue the owner and chef. Sue will talk you through the menu vegetarian or vegan and gluten free. So much to choose from. Variety of teas too. No alcohol is sold on the premises, you can take your own. Can park outside on the street, spaces are limited. Lovely vibe to the place. Not open every evening, also do take away. Had the Chinese fritters so filling and delicious, you will not leave feeling hungry at all. I myself am a meat eater and I will be definitely returning."

"we had booked a table for a Friday night and when we set ourselves up, there seemed to be some confusion about where we should sit, although there were still reserve tables. After they finally sit, it took ten minutes to order and drink and to deliver one for them. the food came immediately and was delicious. more drinks took on one side. that was particularly disturbing when I saw that bar staff went for a zigarette break while we were waiting. our tellers were clarified after some time and I asked for a dessert to be closed the kitchen, it was not even 9 o'clock that was disappointing, especially finding service fee was included on the bill. what a shame"

"Been here many times, went last Sunday for dinner, stunned to see almost all prices for main courses have doubled, stayed as we did not have any alternative plans, food was fine, service was good, but the price rises are crazy, I had a basic vegetarian curry, £19 for this dish alone, shame as there are a few good pubs around which tied up well with a reasonably priced Chinese, alas no more. Price per person: £30–40"
