"the lady luck is a rustic, welcoming pub with many vegans offered, including seven different burgers, a barbecue jackfruit stack, jambalaya and several warm filled baguettes. I tried the Mexican fiesta salad, the vegan “hair stripes” has. the non braided pseudo chicken was as similar to chicken breast that I asked if I was actually fed a animal product. I've never had taste and Glory sender trips before and I wasn't aware how much they were similar to huh. very tasty, even small, salate."

"a Sunday dinner in the restaurant in blandys excellent as always (with some suggestions for each visit). we have used blandys for a few years, and post covid, it is as good as ever and one of the aspekte I liked is that the waitress today (the same as many other employees) are long in service, so the firma is well protected their employees while covid. the ambiente, service and eating was as always excellent; well made blandys in inglewood. suggests: if they plan to visit when they book, it helps them to tell when they are a vegetarian; they will make sure they have a good choice. they close the kitchen around 2 clocks, which seems a bit early, so they try to there for 1 or 1.15, so there is no risk of small services (the proportions are normally large)"

"We were in the area for the British Grand Prix. Our accommodation did not provide food so I looked around and liked the look and reviews of The Plough Inn at Marsh Gibbon. After a long day all four of us were in need of refreshment. There is a separate dining area which suited us well after our long day. With a good choice of menu and this being our main pit stop we needed refuelling. We were not disappointed having all chosen comfort food. The chef cooks ham and gammon with coke and the result is delicious. We were well served and looked after, the beer was good too. I would have no hesitation in going back nor in recommending this fine hostelry."

"The outdoor seating is positioned perfectly to provide great views over the canal. Indoors is absolutely stunning and pays homage to the building's origins. Finally, the food... Wow! Incredible, couldn't fault the food. It was well presented and tasted amazing! The provided doggy treats were a hit with ours eating his body weight in them. Overall, 10/10 and definitely on my list of places to visit again!"

"Booked the standard afternoon tea at the Mandolay on a dismal February afternoon. I was surprised to see that there were pay and display machines on the hotel forecourt. It was pouring with rain but I did my best to scan the small print on...the machines to see if diners or residents get a discount for parking. Sadly not , nor does the machine give change! I decided to pay by card, for hours which I hoped would be a suitable time for us to partake of the tea time offerings. We were welcomed by a friendly receptionist who asked how we were. Actually soaking wet but that wasn't her fault. We were shown to our seats and a tea menu was brought to us. The tea menu itself was presented beautifully in a clasped box. Sample teas are contained in screw top jars within the box and we were invited to unscrew the jars to smell the teas. The teas offered were wide, varied and also unlimited. The restaurant was quiet with just a few friends gathered, sampling the afternoon tea as were we. The table linen was clean and crisp and service excellent. In due course a stand was brought to us with the usual fare of sandwiches, cakes and scones. There were fingers each of smoked salmon, coronation chicken, egg mayo and beef and horseradish. Before we started on the sweet items, we were asked if we would like more sandwiches but we politely declined. There were warm homemade scones, plain and fruited, (a little on the dry and heavy side) along with clotted cream and strawberry jam. Patisserie included a macaron, strawberry tartlet and chocolate cake each. The chocolate cake in particular was very light and delicate. We ordered more tea and the waitress very kindly provided a box so we could take home the strawberry tartlets that our tummies could not find a home for. The afternoon tea itself was nicely presented and plentiful and the service good. The decor in the hotel was not very cosy and I would imagine that the hotel would lend itself more to business or conference delegates. The parking situation was a bit off putting, this is the first time I have had to pay to park my car before dining in a restaurant or partaking of afternoon tea. I appreciate that the hotel is fairly close to Guildford Town Centre and they would need a deterrent to stop people just parking their car at the hotel and going shopping. However, I think it would be appropriate to offer free or discounted parking to residents or diners. Whilst the afternoon tea was acceptable, I think there are better alternatives around."

"I must say, I was so disappointed with my visit to Fredricks. My friend and I went for afternoon tea and were really looking forward to it. But we both found the experience really disappointing. Firstly the afternoon tea cakes looked nothing like the advert, nowhere near as fancy. The scones were lovely but we only had about a couple of tablespoons of cream between the two of us which wasn’t enough! The chap who initially gave us our tea was lovely but then once he had gone we didn’t see a soul. There was no one coming to check if we were ok or needed refills. I ended up drinking cold tea and my friend who had a coffee had nothing once that was finished. It wasn’t until we were practically finished that someone else came to have afternoon tea that we could actually grab someone to ask them for a refill! The ambiance of the afternoon tea was awful. Initially there was lovely music in the background but after about 15 mins it was turned off and we were left in silence. All we could hear were staff in the next room shouting to each other about something or other. There was no atmosphere at all and we actually felt like we shouldn’t be there! I’ve been to a number of afternoon teas and this was by far the worst one I have had. However this was my friends first afternoon tea and we thought that Fredricks would be fabulous for a first time tea..... but she was so disappointed! I felt really bad for her! : I don’t think I would come again."

"We stayed at the Boathouse in Chester from Monday 15th to Wednesday 17th and it was the best stay we have ever had in Chester. The breakfast was delicious, the dinner was amazing, and the prices were reasonable. The staff were lovely and helpful. It was my birthday and my boyfriend had called ahead to let them know. They went above and beyond by decorating our table with balloons and banners and even giving us a free dessert. The whole experience was a 10/10, we wish we could give it more stars. Thank you again, Boathouse."

"We had made a reservation for afternoon tea through OpenTable for Mother's Day. When we arrived, we were informed that no afternoon tea was being offered, and no one could explain why we were able to book it in the first place. It was incredibly disappointing, both from the hotel's side and OpenTable's."

"My mother and I decided to have breakfast at this restaurant. I ordered the Mediterranean dish and my mother had the smoked salmon bagel. Both meals were delicious, fresh, and of high quality. The service was excellent as well. The menu offers a wide variety of options, so we plan on returning for lunch in the future. Additionally, we also took some cheesecakes to go for later."

"By chance I discovered this recently opened little gem of a cafe in Hale Village adjacent to the railway station. This cafe is on the second floor above an art gallery and is immaculately clean and simply but tastefully decorated. Very polite and attentive staff with a good selection of nicely cooked food and drinks at very reasonable prices. It is an ideal location to relax and meet your friends for a coffee or a light meal throughout the day."

"The window in the room opened to a rooftop area, but it was littered with cigarette butts right by the ledge—evidence of previous guests smoking out of the window, which the hotel staff had clearly neglected to clean up. The bathroom was equally disappointing; the light switch was hanging by its wires instead of being properly connected to the ceiling. The area behind the sink appeared to have not been cleaned in ages, and there were unpleasant remnants in the toilet from former guests. The shower was problematic as well, either scalding hot or completely off, with no way to adjust the temperature. I was there for work, so I had to spend the evening in the room, but there was no chair or desk available. To make matters worse, the hotel locks up at 10 PM, preventing me from working late, which is an issue since my employer operates 24 hours. The Wi-Fi was hit-or-miss, which wasn’t necessarily a dealbreaker for me, but I realize it might be for others."

"This little gem was recommended to me my friends oh my word what an amazing culinary experience. We arrived an hour too early but having seen the menu we decided to get a drink in the village return when it did open. Although moderately busy for midweek this did not detract from the service amazing food. Thoroughly recommend the Triple cooked cheese soufflé oh melted in the mouth, light but rich without being over so. I had mushroom risotto for my main again wonderful flavour. My friends had duck venison which were both well presented I think the 3 very clean plates sayes it all. We all felt contented after 2 courses so didn’t sample the desserts but am sure we would have been equally blown away. A friendly, family run business that is simply a little gem will definately be back there is no doubt to sample more local seasonal sensational food."

"Server at the bar (supervisor, I think was almost impossible to hear, and I had to take my tea back and ask for a new one when I realised she had not given me decaff as requested (pregnancy dictates decaff! she swapped it without a fuss. Food was great, although I was disappointed there was no seafood option (tuna, prawn mayo, etc for the jacket potatoes. Foccacia was excellent, sourdough slightly stale. Friend had mezze platter without bread but was disappointed there were no stuffed vine leave available. Otherwise her food was great. My mocktail was large and tasty, but we asked for a large glass of Prosecco for my friend and ended up with a champagne flute full. Mostly great although definitely a few tweaks to make to improve to five star service."

"My boyfriend works at Murrayfield, so he is a huge fan of Vigo's. I have had a takeaway from here before, but recently they've opened a cafe in Corstorphine, which we decided to try this week. Before we stepped inside I had already decided I was having the Mexican chicken wrap, however once presented with the menu my mind was torn! The choices are not extensive but I could have ordered almost everything on the menu. After a lot of deliberating I went with the black and blue salad. If the rest of the menu is anything to judge my salad on then you can't go wrong; it was delicious! The flavour of the chicken, the blue cheese and the dressing all worked so well together. The portion size was perfect and it was served with crispy bread, which was a nice extra. The cafe itself is one big room and although the have tried to make it more homely, it's not the most relaxing of places. However all of this is forgotten as soon as you taste the food. There are also a couple of window seats that looked pretty comfortable. I would recommend both Vigo's Deli and Cafe to people looking for a good value lunch!"

"On our first trip to the UK we stopped in to the Coeur De Lion Pub for cider and lunch. Atmosphere is very local, and very friendly. Staff was wonderfully kind to us, very friendly, and since we ate outside brought our meal out to us as well. I hadn't tried Steak and Ale pie before, but for the next week after eating here I was chasing the same meal that I had here at the Coeur De Lion, Steak and Ale pie with garden peas. All in all between London, Bath and Brighton, I had 4 Steak and Ale pies over 10 days, and the variety offered here was simply the best. The Coeur de Lion seems to be a locals pub, if there is such a thing in Bath. Sequestered down an alley and out of the way, you'd have to either be lost, or looking for it, in order to find it. It is worth the trip, and next time we are in Bath we will visit again."
