We arrived to find out there wasn’t a chef and no Sunday meals were being cooked Very disappointed

the eating was beautifully presented and the personal was amazing! we had a nice evening and I would go back there.

Pretty average. Went for afternoon tea. The place is a bit run down now and in need of some updating. Staff were very difficult to find to get more tea and even to pay. Food was ok for the price. View menu

Great venue for your traditional afternoon tea. Delightful sandwiches served with warm scones, jam and clotted cream topped off with a selection of cakes. All washed down with tea from their wide selection. Service was attentive and all staff were friendly. Nice view so their gardens complimented the day.

I had a very disappointing evening at this restaurant. The menu is severely limited and doesn't reflect the quality you'd expect from a Michelin-rated establishment. Don't be fooled by any online menus! The atmosphere was lacking, with paper napkins and poor service. While the food we received was beautifully presented and tasted good, that was the only positive aspect. If you're looking for a special evening, I'd suggest going elsewhere.

The room was larger than we'd expected, but the furnishings seemed a bit worn. The bed valance was a bit uneven, and the shower was less than impressive. The spa facilities were lovely, but quite crowded in the evening. They do have a 'running room', but unfortunately, the treadmill was broken, and the screens on the exercise bikes weren't functioning. Breakfast was quite basic, more akin to a bed and breakfast than a hotel. They did waive the seafood charge in addition to the 12.5% service fee, which was fair. I recommend sitting in the corridor instead of the main restaurant; however, the ambiance was somewhat disrupted by late arrivals rolling through with their suitcases. The room was more spacious than we anticipated, but some fixtures were a bit worn out—the bed valance was ripped, and the shower wasn’t great. The food was excellent. Tasty, well cooked, good quality ingredients and presented very well too. It was also very reasonably priced, especially given the quality. However, it was let down by the ambience and the service. The hotel can do nothing about a lack of people in the restaurant, but it did feel odd being the only couple in the restaurant on a Sunday lunchtime, so there was only the atmosphere the two of us created! The staff were friendly and well-meaning, but far from polished. A little more proactiveness and little things like setting the starter cutlery outside the main course cutlery would have pushed my mark for service higher than 3/5, and potentially pushed the overall mark t...

I must say, I was so disappointed with my visit to Fredricks. My friend and I went for afternoon tea and were really looking forward to it. But we both found the experience really disappointing. Firstly the afternoon tea cakes looked nothing like the advert, nowhere near as fancy. The scones were lovely but we only had about a couple of tablespoons of cream between the two of us which wasn’t enough! The chap who initially gave us our tea was lovely but then once he had gone we didn’t see a soul. There was no one coming to check if we were ok or needed refills.
