Juicy beef patty, melted cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato, pickles, and signature sauce on a toasted bun. Classic and satisfying.

"I visited last Saturday morning with family when visiting the nearby Isle of Sheppey, I can't begin to say how great this was. We went back same evening! The owner/host Musa who is also the chef, is just marvellous. Greatly courteous, classy, and so outrageously skilled as a chef too! I lived in Mexico 2 years, love Mexican culture, fanatic about Mexican food. For lunch we ordered Fajitas, Chimichanga, and Garlic Prawns. All sublime, super tender beef, superb Chimichanga, the prawns tasted as good as it gets presented in French style (the owner/chef also has a French restaurant). In the evening we tried tacos, salty squid, and churros. The atmosphere was wonderful, like you have come out of the boring day and gone to an exotic Latin mini-vacation! Humelo is a GREAT guy, we had such great chat and interaction and so much laughs together, we all even danced together to a Latin classic later. More amazing, is the prices. I paid almost the same as I paid for the beautiful Chimichanga dish, or the superb Fajitas (enough for 2) as a silly Kebab from a shop the night before, only 2-4 Pounds higher. So a top gourmet luxury restaurant with superb ambience and food, and at prices close to a regular pizzeria! My 13 year old son fell in love with the place and the food. We have talked about booking a hotel nearby, and drive all the way from Richmond just to visit again, THAT is how much we loved it! Thank you Musa, thank you Humelo, hope to see you soon again!"

"Sadly the whole experience was disappointing , the chefs table was missing quiet a few items that were not replenished no prawn cocktails and no chocolate muffins to mention only 2 lines we waited about 25 minutes for the mains after finishing what starters were available . I had to ask 2 different members of staff for plates for the starters and the room was packed with people shouting as they watched the rugby which is fair enough but not the environment you want to be eating food with children feeling quite threatened by all the shouting . Have previously enjoyed the whole experience but have never been there when a major sporting event was on . Not a great time with a lot of hassle to get a below average dining experience. Have always told friends and colleges how good the village is but feel somewhat different now ."

"Beautiful hotel, rooms are good, bed comfy, bar / restaurant was abit loud, as it has a variety of large screens around it, and with either football or rugby it can load very much!!! We sat in the reception area for Abit, as it was just to load in bar area, when Rugby had left some of the loud people and it became pathetic!! Could have a few more employees and cellars who wouldn't crash further! Breakfast was nice and quiet and well designed, you think they had staff problems as some employees did not show up in the morning. About all good hotel and not bad price, oh and the food was good.."

"Never order from here again its a joke just got my order and the pizza is black, I rang up to complain and just got laughed at, it took an hour to get the food and the getting told that it's going to be another 30 too 45 min wait is unacceptable, do they not have food standards, I would have never sent food out in this state, but to top it off while complaining I'm getting laughed at on the phone, is truly unacceptable very very poor customer service all completely unacceptable"

"I have been hoping Byron Leeds would open for quite some time. I’ve even been known to tweet them asking needfully when they would come to our fine city! My brother first introduced me to Byron burger restaurants in London a few years back and I have to say it opened my eyes to burger restaurants actually being decent! Byron were one of the first restaurants to do burgers well and I was hooked. Luckily for us, Byron Leeds have opened up their doors and I went over to check the new Leeds restaurant out. Byron Leeds Menu Here’s the Byron Leeds menu…I like that they actually limit the number of burgers they offer, focussing on doing what they offer very well. Drinks at Byron For drinks, I went for the fresh lemonade and hubby went for the Old Rascal cider. He’s a big cider fan, so pleased to see this one from Thatchers on the menu. We grabbed some olives to keep the hunger at bay whilst we waited for our burgers (I’d half starved myself all day in anticipation of the burgery-goodness t"

"Awful from start to finish. Food was horrible was in there over 2.5 hours service was slow. Would not recommend Sunday lunch now they have changed it from a carvery. Starters tiny desserts poor choice and Sunday lunch inedible. Had to wait on several occasions for them to put enough starters out and desserts. We were a party of 9 and 4 meals came out 20 mins later than everyone else’s. Food items missing from most people’s meals. Waitress was very apologetic and so was the manager and we didn’t pay for the meal. Was for my husbands birthday which was ruined. Very disappointed and won’t be returning unfortunately and we have been numerous times in the past and loved it!"

"An extremely overpriced menu. Three of us went to Sunday noon to £15 for 3 courses. The starters were serving themselves and sat on the side... some looked dried up and edible. Nothing was marked so you had to guess what was all. Most of them were salads in a small glass or compote or smoothie?? We had to ask for fresh bread and more soup that was in a Thermoskrug. The main course was mediocre. And there was no choice for Dessert. It was a compote or muffin or Danish pastry??? What everyone sat on the side with the starters. The service was terrible. No cutlery laid on the table although we had booked and reserved. We had to wait for a long time until our plates were removed, and after about half an hour of sitting we had to remove our net. We will not return!!! Terrible."

"I visited pub and grill bar in other village hotels, but that was my first visit. to say I was disappointed, is an understatement. I booked well in advance for table. when I arrived, no table was booked, even if one of the employees brought my reservation on his tablet and I had previously confirmed my reservation. I was told to find one table and sit there. as they want, it was very busy because of football and rugby. After we wait for table to become available, we have settled. After waiting for someone to come to us (what they did not) I went to cash and explained that we included our meal in our stay and which menu we could use. I was told that they always used and one was pointed to me. we choose our eating and patiently waited at the bar for 15 minutes, just to say that we had the wrong menu it was a set menu from which we had to choose. I went back to my party of 6 and asked her to choose again. back to the bar for another 15 minutes waiting and ordered our food. after a 35-minute waiting period, our starters came out. After we had waited five minutes for my starter who was humous, we ate. our main meal began minus the cheese on our burgers, for which we paid extra. my daughter waited for her 10 minutes after we got ours. when we ask where her meal was, we were told that we were sorry we forgot to get out. when she got her steak, they had forgotten the pfeffer sauce. ! after completing our main course 2 of my party had paid for dessert, it was obvious to wait after another 20-minute, it was not appearing. until now it was 10.45 we had our table for 8 o'clock booked. when I approached a worker, no apology or explanation was offered about the series of failures. we had booked a night to meet the family. to celebrate the 30th birthday of my daughter. that has proved to be a sniff. I'm sure they can understand why my party of 6 was so disappointed."

"I was extremely impressed by this restaurant on a Saturday evening when I ordered delivery. The food arrived in about 30 minutes and was of very high quality. It was like getting restaurant-quality food right at my doorstep. It's wonderful to see a business that sets a high standard, hopefully setting an example for other fast food places on how delicious quality food can taste."

"This was miss sold to me by Open Table. The food is a set menu with little choice. The chicken skewers was chewy and the Sunday lunch plastic. It is a far cry from the way it used to be but someone has to pay for the refurb. Unfortunately, there was 3 couples and it still took 2 hours to get food. Go to Ashton Moss or the Harvester next door. You get good quality food, descent options portions for half the price. Village, I’m disappointed to say the least !"

"My family and I make it a weekly tradition to visit this restaurant when we are craving Shawarma. It is one of the best Shawarma wraps in Birmingham city centre, offering generous portions at a great price. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, providing fast service and excellent hospitality. These are the main reasons we choose to dine here frequently."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Village, everything was good, however we had huge problems booking a table. There was no answer on the phone number provided, and the number provided on the booking confirmation was invalid! We could only book online for 1, 2, 3 or 4 people, but not for 5 as we wanted. We booked for 4 then had to go there to request adding one, only to find out that we were the only booking they had anyway! Apparently the phone is in the office which is neither manned, or heard, when the restaurant is open. I’m afraid The Village are going to lose a lot of business if they don’t put this right quickly. Such a shame as everything else was perfect.....the food was really good, all 5 meals, great presentation, good quantities, lovely presentation, the service was great and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely go back, if they answer the phone, or allow more than a 4 person booking online!"

"The food was delicious, so many thanks to the kitchen team. Unfortunately, the service was bad. The employees were either untrained, trained or simply didn't care about their jobs, except for the person responsible, who was very organized and efficient. When we arrived at our pre-booked meal, we had to wait 10 minutes first while they had a staff meeting. Then another employee came too late. The person who led the meeting told them that it was not acceptable in the restaurant. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks to be told by the staff: “We don’t have Pina to make your drink”. We were in many village hotels and had food, but unfortunately this time it was trained by the staff who did not seem interested or as previously said. Thank you to the kitchen staff and the manager for sorting us. Our feedback is passed on to the hotel when we receive the call from the manager."

"To be honest, we were somewhat disappointed in our visit meal and it was no where near as good as the carvery style sunday menu we thought we were going to get. There was not much choice at all for starters or desserts on the 'help yourself ' part and there was a shortage of desserts, only 2 to choose from a plain cheesecake and yogurt pot type desert. Also, no spoons available for the soup or deserts. The Sunday lunch itself was quite standard, nothing special. I enjoyed the beef but my husband wasnt impressed with the processed turkey he got. Staff were pleasant enough but we cleared our table of both starters and mains ourself as no one seemed to want to take our used plates away do we ended up putting them onto another table or on the bar! Only positive was that I had purchased a voucher so instead of £50, we spent just over £25. I most certainly wouldn 't pay full price for what we got and wont rush back for sunday lunch. Very disappointed as our kids loved it last time with the choice and especially the ice cream machine but this has all been changed and not for the best."

"Eaten here on many occasions but didn't enjoy this last experience at all. Booked a table for 3 people for Sunday lunch. Sunday lunch set up has changed and it wasn't a good experience at all. The starters were mainly fish choices. Mini canapes of smoked salmon and avocado, smoked mackerel, mini prawn cocktails, smoked mackerel pate. The only non fish choice was salad or soup. The soup had a sign saying red pepper and tomato, so I thought well at least that's something my daughter can have, lifted the lid and it was green! I asked the waiter what it was, he said sorry I don't know; so I asked him to ask the chef, he came back and said it's leek and potato but didn't change the sign. We ordered three roast chicken dinners which were average although the veg was nice and fresh. The desert table was the left overs from breakfast.... pan au chocolate, yoghurt or chocolate muffin, although the waiter said we could order from the kitchen at an extra cost. My daughter was still hungry when we left, so at a cost of £45 for 3 of us for lunch without our drinks, we didn't feel it was value for money and won't be returning."

"I made a reservation for a large group in advance for a Friday lunch. The only time slots available were 11am or 1pm, so we chose 1pm. The bar staff seemed very busy and stressed when we arrived, and they were not happy about our group ordering individually. I had called over a week in advance to inquire about pre-ordering for a large group, but the person I spoke to seemed confused and said they would call me back, which never happened. We had difficulty ordering food together at the bar and splitting payments, so it took a long time for us to order through one staff member. As a result, the food arrived gradually and some dishes took a long time. Although we were warned about this upon arrival, we would have expected better staffing for such a large booking. It would have been better if the booking system had offered a midday option to avoid the lunchtime rush. The food was good and reasonably priced, but I would not recommend booking for a large group or going during peak times."

"I had a burger with a bun that was drenched in melted butter, making it incredibly greasy and unpleasant to hold. It left my hands filthy. The restaurant was initially nice and quiet, perfect for chatting over lunch with colleagues. However, as it got busier, they kept turning up the music, making it hard to hear and forcing us to shout over our meals. Not everyone wants to shout over lunch and it made me hesitant to return."

"We went for the brunch menu which we have had before and me and my partner brought friends who where over from Ireland. I dont why it had changed from the way is used to be set up but it was terrible, the food to help your self too wasnt even ready and out when we turned up so we had to wait before we could get any soup and bread, then range of starters was tiny and terrible but just in bigger bowls than it used to be. It was about 15 minute wait for the bread rolls, and then took the staff over 20 after we had finished the soup before relaising we had and asled if we wanted the roast which took over 15 minutes to come out and even when it did the veg was burnt and discoloured, things where missing off 3 of the 4 plates and one of my friends didnt eat any of it as it was that bad. A couple behind us didnt eat much of theres and a table of 20 there for a birthday also complained about thr tiny selection of starter food but when they did the chief brought a larger selection out which annoyed us further as we didnt get a the offer of a bigger selection. The staff didnt have a brain cell between then, tables where left dirty for over hald a hour and they still where sorted properly when we left. We had to clear our own plated into the bar so we had some room and there was plenty off staff but the women just followed each other round like lost sheep. The only one with a braincell was the guy who was the manger but even then he couldnt do it all on his own or manage the staff well. We where told the way that is set up is going to change again and it wont even be an all you can eat section and just set course meals. We will not be back again and will be telling people not to go either"

"One of my most favourite burger places is town, often crowded, but the burger is cooked to perfection and tastes amazing. The staff is very friendly, and the service is fast. The place itself is not very baby friedly, but they will make room for a pram and for your little one as best as they can."

"Went for Sunday lunch, booked for 4.15pm. Went for the 3 course option. Starters looked as if they had been out for a while, quite a few options still available. Choice of 2 mains, either turkey with stuffing and pigs in blankets and cranberry, or beef with horseradish, both with roast potatoes, Yorkshire’s, carrots, cabbage and sprouts. Both looked as if they had been thrown on the plate, weren’t hot, beef was dry, veg was soggy, and the turkey came without stuffing or pigs in blankets! Did arrive when asked but were dry, burnt and crozzled. Went for desert, all that was left was pan au chocolate and 1 berry compote, when we asked why there were no other options we were told it was the end of service. I said why advertise the times for three courses when there was nothing left? They did manage to conjure up 4 lemon muffins! My daughter had booked this for a special occasion, and it was totally spoiled. She did complain and had a reduced bill, but that was not the point. My daughter is a regular customer there with friends and usually eats earlier and has enjoyed the meal, so I think the advice would be go earlier! I won’t go again as I thought it was quite noisy, but there was a rugby match on at the time."
