"I think the staff here don’t get enough credit for the amazing job they do. You won’t find staff like this in any other Starbucks. Nick in particular is so patient and so kind and so knowledgeable. He thinks nothing of helping anybody and is always so professional. On one single day I saw him tending to a disabled customer repeatedly, including helping the customer sit down safely (the customer has visual difficulties), helping explain which sandwiches were available (remembering the customers favourites) and generally tending to them whilst also serving others. On that same shift a customer came in half an hour after closing asking for a ‘green drink that looks like pondwater’. The customer questioned the closing time and hovered around with no regard for the fact he had said the place was closed but he had offered to make anything he could with the equipment still turned on. Fifteen minutes later as we left he was still helping this customer figure out what she wanted, well beyond closing time when he really didn’t have to. He endlessly goes above and beyond and he’s never remotely unattentive. It’s worth mentioning Rob as well who is always cheerful, chatty and working hard. It’s just a lovely Starbucks and somehow the drinks always taste better than elsewhere too. Maybe it’s the kindness of the staff I don’t know but, it’s quite the hidden treasure in chillwell."

"we have booked for a night as a new year contract as we had bought the £50 voucher for £25. the restaurant was busy when we arrived, but were immediately shown on our table. the waiter was very nice, although we had to hunt him for a drink, as we had waited for over 10 minutes. we ordered drinks and eat at the same time as we were ready to order. the food arrived in good time and I must say we were very impressed by eating it was nice and we both enjoy our meal very much. the atmosphere was not what they would expect from a hotel. there was a series of clientels that were constantly in and out of the fire exit, which was very annoying as it was very cold when they left the door open to allow them to enter through this door, which led to us having to sit because it was so cold. when we left, we realized why they came in and out of the fire exit, as they were 10 or more cars on the parking lot that used the hotel toilets, bar and electricity to load there telephones etc. not what I expected in the village hotel. was rather disappointed than the bar, food and service was excellent, but the client unfortunately let it down"

"I was disappointed to find out that we did not receive the 25% discount on our large meal when using my membership card at the restaurant. It appears that the discount only applies to 3-course meals now. This comes after receiving an email stating that my membership fee has increased to £48 per month, presumably to help fund the new pool. We will not be returning for Sunday dinner anytime soon, especially since the carvery is now served to you instead of being self-serve like it was in the past."

"Very Disappointed, came here today to have the big pan special which is Yellow Thai, which i normally enjoy so much and always come to have this for my lunch, well today i wished i did NOT bother, it taste nothing like it usually does, seamed missing the taste it normally has and also was extremely oily runny looking, then the amount of Yellow Thai i got compered to the rice was a joke, hardly any meat in the ridiculous tiny spoon of food the lady serving gave me. so not only did my lunch taste disgusting i basically was given rice and the tiny amount of pan, nothing like i normally received rather upsetting and disappointed i wasted my lunch break walking down to you today, not sure if the lady that served me is new to the job or what but today's vist has left me very disappointed to be given what i did today compered to my usual Yellow Thai vists, both the taste and the amount given needs to be fixed please improve this for next time"

"We went here for dinner on our first night in Edinburgh because of the story of the dog Bobby. It was wonderful to see the statue and learn more about it, but the pub itself was a bit of a disappointment. The chef was finishing early so we were brought our starter and mains at the same time, and no opportunity to order a dessert. This was 8pm on a Friday night, so would have expected to be able to eat eithout the rush at that time. The staff were very friendly, but the service was quite slow. The food was okay, but nothing too special and the atmosphere was a bit dead. There are other better places to try scottish classics in the city."

"I visited last Saturday morning with family when visiting the nearby Isle of Sheppey, I can't begin to say how great this was. We went back same evening! The owner/host Musa who is also the chef, is just marvellous. Greatly courteous, classy, and so outrageously skilled as a chef too! I lived in Mexico 2 years, love Mexican culture, fanatic about Mexican food. For lunch we ordered Fajitas, Chimichanga, and Garlic Prawns. All sublime, super tender beef, superb Chimichanga, the prawns tasted as good as it gets presented in French style (the owner/chef also has a French restaurant). In the evening we tried tacos, salty squid, and churros. The atmosphere was wonderful, like you have come out of the boring day and gone to an exotic Latin mini-vacation! Humelo is a GREAT guy, we had such great chat and interaction and so much laughs together, we all even danced together to a Latin classic later. More amazing, is the prices. I paid almost the same as I paid for the beautiful Chimichanga dish, or the superb Fajitas (enough for 2) as a silly Kebab from a shop the night before, only 2-4 Pounds higher. So a top gourmet luxury restaurant with superb ambience and food, and at prices close to a regular pizzeria! My 13 year old son fell in love with the place and the food. We have talked about booking a hotel nearby, and drive all the way from Richmond just to visit again, THAT is how much we loved it! Thank you Musa, thank you Humelo, hope to see you soon again!"

"Never order from here again its a joke just got my order and the pizza is black, I rang up to complain and just got laughed at, it took an hour to get the food and the getting told that it's going to be another 30 too 45 min wait is unacceptable, do they not have food standards, I would have never sent food out in this state, but to top it off while complaining I'm getting laughed at on the phone, is truly unacceptable very very poor customer service all completely unacceptable"
"Sadly the whole experience was disappointing , the chefs table was missing quiet a few items that were not replenished no prawn cocktails and no chocolate muffins to mention only 2 lines we waited about 25 minutes for the mains after finishing what starters were available . I had to ask 2 different members of staff for plates for the starters and the room was packed with people shouting as they watched the rugby which is fair enough but not the environment you want to be eating food with children feeling quite threatened by all the shouting . Have previously enjoyed the whole experience but have never been there when a major sporting event was on . Not a great time with a lot of hassle to get a below average dining experience. Have always told friends and colleges how good the village is but feel somewhat different now ."

Speaking of a feast the food was cooked to perfection the presentation was immaculate, the the service was great and the flavours used blended together so well. "This was miss sold to me by Open Table. The food is a set menu with little choice. The chicken skewers was chewy and the Sunday lunch plastic. It is a far cry from the way it used to be but someone has to pay for the refurb. Unfortunately, there was 3 couples and it still took 2 hours to get food. Go to Ashton Moss or the Harvester next door. You get good quality food, descent options portions for half the price. Village, I’m disappointed to say the least !"

"I visited pub and grill bar in other village hotels, but that was my first visit. to say I was disappointed, is an understatement. I booked well in advance for table. when I arrived, no table was booked, even if one of the employees brought my reservation on his tablet and I had previously confirmed my reservation. I was told to find one table and sit there. as they want, it was very busy because of football and rugby. After we wait for table to become available, we have settled. After waiting for someone to come to us (what they did not) I went to cash and explained that we included our meal in our stay and which menu we could use. I was told that they always used and one was pointed to me. we choose our eating and patiently waited at the bar for 15 minutes, just to say that we had the wrong menu it was a set menu from which we had to choose. I went back to my party of 6 and asked her to choose again. back to the bar for another 15 minutes waiting and ordered our food. after a 35-minute waiting period, our starters came out. After we had waited five minutes for my starter who was humous, we ate. our main meal began minus the cheese on our burgers, for which we paid extra. my daughter waited for her 10 minutes after we got ours. when we ask where her meal was, we were told that we were sorry we forgot to get out. when she got her steak, they had forgotten the pfeffer sauce. ! after completing our main course 2 of my party had paid for dessert, it was obvious to wait after another 20-minute, it was not appearing. until now it was 10.45 we had our table for 8 o'clock booked. when I approached a worker, no apology or explanation was offered about the series of failures. we had booked a night to meet the family. to celebrate the 30th birthday of my daughter. that has proved to be a sniff. I'm sure they can understand why my party of 6 was so disappointed."

"I was extremely impressed by this restaurant on a Saturday evening when I ordered delivery. The food arrived in about 30 minutes and was of very high quality. It was like getting restaurant-quality food right at my doorstep. It's wonderful to see a business that sets a high standard, hopefully setting an example for other fast food places on how delicious quality food can taste."

"I booked a table through OpenTable and was disappointed by my experience. The restaurant only offered a set menu with limited choices. The chicken skewers were tough and the sauce tasted artificial. The quality is a far cry from what it used to be, but I suppose someone has to foot the bill for the renovations. Unfortunately, there were three couples ahead of us, and it took over two hours to receive our food. I would recommend going to Ashton Moss or The Harvester next door instead; they offer good quality food and decent options at half the price. Overall, I'm quite disappointed!"

It is one of the best Shawarma wraps in Birmingham city centre, offering generous portions at a great price. "The food was delicious, so many thanks to the kitchen team. Unfortunately, the service was bad. The employees were either untrained, trained or simply didn't care about their jobs, except for the person responsible, who was very organized and efficient. When we arrived at our pre-booked meal, we had to wait 10 minutes first while they had a staff meeting. Then another employee came too late. The person who led the meeting told them that it was not acceptable in the restaurant. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks to be told by the staff: “We don’t have Pina to make your drink”. We were in many village hotels and had food, but unfortunately this time it was trained by the staff who did not seem interested or as previously said. Thank you to the kitchen staff and the manager for sorting us. Our feedback is passed on to the hotel when we receive the call from the manager."

"The food was absolutely delicious, so a big thank you to the kitchen team. However, the service left much to be desired. It seemed that the staff were either poorly trained, untrained, or simply indifferent to their roles, with the exception of the person in charge, who was very organized and efficient. When we arrived for our pre-booked meal, we had to wait 10 minutes because the staff were having a meeting. Another staff member arrived late, and the meeting leader informed them that their tardiness was unacceptable on the restaurant floor. After that, we waited 15 minutes for our drinks, only to be told that they didn’t have the ingredients needed to make one of our orders. We have dined at many Village hotels before and have always enjoyed our meals, but unfortunately, this time the experience was marred by staff who appeared disinterested or poorly trained. I would like to extend my gratitude to the kitchen staff and the manager for their efforts in accommodating us. We will pass our feedback along to the hotel once we receive a call back from the manager."

"Disappointed with the new layout of the communal areas. It was much better when it was a seperate bar and restaurant. We went for a relaxing family birthday meal (our 2 course meal was included in our room rate) and found it to be anything but relaxing. No designated eating areas therefore we were surrounded by drunk, rowdy people knocking our chairs whilst we were trying to eat our food and generally being disruptive. Tables are too close together. The new work space where the bar used to be is a waste of space at the weekend. I think the hotel would benefit from creating a section for people who are having meals and a section for drinks only. There's nowhere else to sit in the hotel for guests. Couldn't fault our meals or the service however will not be returning for food at the hotel, we will just dine elsewhere if we ever stay again."

"I had a burger with a bun that was drenched in melted butter, making it incredibly greasy and unpleasant to hold. It left my hands filthy. The restaurant was initially nice and quiet, perfect for chatting over lunch with colleagues. However, as it got busier, they kept turning up the music, making it hard to hear and forcing us to shout over our meals. Not everyone wants to shout over lunch and it made me hesitant to return."
