"Unfortunately very disappointed with the meal we had here on Saturday2 Sept 23. Having been in the past we were really looking frwd to our treat at this hotel and a meal at the 'Marco Pierre White ' steakhouse. After placing our order for the fillet steaks we not only had to wait 50 minutes for any food to arrive (we were seated as it opened so not many other diners were there) but then the under average meal arrived. The Koffman fries were absolutely inedible. They were burnt with grease coming out of them and most were small burnt ends and looked disgusting (see photos). We mentioned this to our waiter when he came to check and he offered to bring new fries. We waited another 10 minutes for these to arrive but by then our steaks were eaten as they were getting cold. The waiter should of taken our plates away and got rid of the old fries, but instead he left them on our plates. The new fries were not alot better and we didn 't eat many due to the meal now being ruined! The waiter then bought us the bill. I just couldn 't believe we were about to pay nearly £80 for a meal that was utterly disappointing. I made an error here by paying the bill in full then thought I would go and speak to the manager. This was a big mistake. After waiting another 10 minutes to speak to someone the manager came over and said all she can offer is 20% off next time we visit. I told her this will not be happening and we won 't return. She said nothing else can be done and didn 't even offer a refund of the chips. I was disgusted and told her that if I had known this I would not of paid the bill at all until I had spoken to her, I felt dubed and angry, we even paid the service charge, added without us asking. As the restaurant manager surely she would have a small amount of discretion to offer something back to us??? I really don 't think it was to much to ask for? She just said she couldn 't offer anything else, which I don 't believe for one minute. I asked how I can escalate this further and she told me I can speak to hotel reception. We went back to our room and decided to ask for the manager when checking out in the morning. I spoke to the guest relations manager when we checked out, to be fair he did listen and take down notes and my contact details. He assured me he would look into this and come back to me. He accepted the restaurant manager was wrong in not dealing with this the previous evening. After 5 days of no contact from him I emailed to chase it up, then another 2 days (1 week had now passed) I decided to email the hotel chain direct to pass on my complaint and gave them all the details in an email. Two hours later I finally had a response from the guest relations manager. Although he apologised I was refunded just £13! From an £80 meal, absolutely unbelievable. Due to these circumstances and the way it was handled I cant recommend this hotel or steakhouse and will definitely not be returning. This is a restaurant backed by a 3 star michilin chef hence you expect good service and quality food, especially for the higher price you pay, seems like we were just paying for the name! Very disappointed"

"Came here because they had the Moqueca on the menu and I felt like a tasty brazilian fish stew. Boy, was I dissapointed. I've had the Moqueca a few times before in Brazil and in New York at Esperanto in Alphabet City both very good both the one in Made In Brasil Boteco didn't give me any thrills. Only chills. The sauce was bland and tasteless in a boring tomato ish way no coconut milk fulness to it. The contents were fish, clams, jumboshrimp and calamari rings. The whole thing gave me a disgusted feeling. The fish pieces seemed like the step before garbage cut offs from fileting the fish. The jumboshrimp was served with everything (head and the works) and while that may be to the taste of someone that didn't improve the overall impression of the meal. Lastly white calamari rings the sort you usually get breaded and deepfried at cheap greek restaurants: I don't see them as having any business in the Moqueca and to me that just yanked the overall impression of the meal a few more notches down, as they just seemed like a cheap filler along with the other rather disgusting seafood contents of the dish. I was hungry and I did eat some of it the farofa to sprinkle on top did give it a little taste. But going through the different pieces of low quality seafood in the dish just left me with a feeling of whether or not this was good for me. Eating fish and seafood is kind of a trust game to me. So I let the waitress know that the dish didn't live up to my expectations and she took it back to the kitchen and came back and told me that this is how they always make it. That made the decision very easy to just pay, get out of there and never come back. The place has a nice vibe cosy, brazilian music and outfits. I'm sure you could have a nice with drinks and the occasional live music in there. But avoid the Moqueca at all costs."

"I suggest that they avoid this restaurant unless they are happy to have stolen their personal belongings. I was sadly on a birthday party on this place. the signs did not look good when they ran out of champagne in the early Friday evening and knew that a birthday should be celebrated and also many of the weepings listed on their weeping list were not available. eating was nothing to write home, but since we were there to celebrate eating was secondary and so tolerable. However, the night took a significant downturn when standing up to leave, was discovered that my coat had disappeared. the waitress had hanged it next to the door on the other hand, and then pulled a curtain over the dumbbells, so that they were completely hidden from the diner's sight. I should point out that the dressing stand is right next to the inset and completely observing the fit. you would ask in hindsight, the wisdom of a businessman with years of experience, a coat rack at the front of the establishment on the busy soho road with a curtain that covers the view of personal things. this is a clear case of negligence on the part of the owner. Nevertheless, the personal seemed really worried about the disappearance and assured me that they would cover the cost of a replacement paint as a gesture of good will if the coat was not returned the next day. they also gave a taxi and I had no reason to doubt their integrity or promise for a resolution, and therefore they did not ask to call the police. I would have known how the owner wanted to address the matter that I would have called for the police to be contacted at that time. the ruthless owner and I had a hostile telephone conversation in which he was rude from the beginning obscene rude, seemed to mock my choice of the coat and said that he was surprised that someone would steal it because it wasn't designer(and accused me of being a bulliger, despite the fact that he had led the whole phone. he has constantly reluctant and ultimately denied the culpability, although he had admitted that he had seen the cctw and saw his waitress with my coat. in all my years to eat regularly, I had never disappeared a single object in a facility that has to do with a owner alone, who seems to fight with the concept of reasonable customer service. this is a low-class facility, but regardless of the fact that the guests should be able to dinate without considering their property disappearing. / there are many excellent restaurants in london where they can dine in fabulous environment without worrying about their personal belongings being stolen and I would strongly recommend to avoid this place in favor of one of the safer, more professional decisions!"
