"I have eaten twice in the pollen street social. once for business lunch and once for personal dinner. the youngest is the personal dinner. I wouldn't eat here again if no major changes were made. I expect more from a michelin star restaurant that invites top dollar/pound for their food/service. two tasting menus and weinparing cost us only over £400 $551,) which it was not worth at the end. my biggest problem with pss is that her plant-focused tasting menu is vegetarian and vegan can be made by exclusion of ingredients. why not be kreatiw and add different ingredients, or offer a vegan menu overall? most items on the tasting menu repeated ingredients and taste from previous curses. many of the aromen used was an acidic lemon flavor that was good for a plate but very old got later. the only unforgettable cure for me was the pea risotto that might have been amazing if they replaced the excluded ingredients with something else. the lack of creativity for vegan dishes was disappointing. we were drilled through eating and actually quite bored all the time, as the dinner took 4 hours that asked us for the bill, so we could go at the end. Finally the person I was fed with did not get the vegan menu and the first portion was a afternoon tee irritating, the restaurant put both the non-vegan and vegan items on the same servier plate. I had a big problem with it, but they insisted it was good. one of the objects served with the afternoon tea was identical to the non-vegan version and those clowns who told me everything were completely wrong. my dining room partner ate fortunately the article of his side first and knew that he had the wrong one and that they put the non-vegan on my side. the personal was not susceptible to us when we told them that they screwed up and the non-vegan product on my side and the vegan product on the other - no excuses from the restaurant. that was irritating. I recommend you to separate her when she eats here with a non-Vean. lunch in January 2020 the vegan tasting menu for lunch was much smaller, but the service lasted one more. hopefully they will get with the times that veganism is given huge in london."

"Came to Frankie and Benny’s on Thursday evening with a friend. There was only 3 other tables in the entire restaurant and looking back it’s easy to see why! Signs on the tables suggested app service but when trying to use this and type in our table number, error message kept coming up saying there was no account open on our table. Waited another 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and take our drinks order. After eventually ordering food, we waited around 10 minutes for starters. My friend said her potato skins tasted frozen and weren’t very nice, and my crispy squid was a soggy mess. For mains, my friend had chicken parmagiana which she said the pasta was bland and chicken was cold in the middle. I had carbonara and paid extra for chicken to be added as a topping. Well… ive had nicer carbonaras from the supermarket ready meal shelf. The whole dish was obviously from frozen, the chicken was diced into tiny cubes with a weird texture and the sauce was bland. Our onion rings and corn cobs that we ordered as sides were cold. We never received a checkback and even when the waiter (a young man who seemed like he didn’t have a clue) came to clear our full plates (we both left almost the entire meals) he didnt even ask if everything was okay or seem curious as to why we left the food. Paid the bill but will never return to frankie and bennys, we heard the table next to us complaining amongst themselves that the food was bad as well. Frankie and benny’s used to be a nice restaurant, always seemed to be fresh and was always busy. But now it’s a sad excuse for an italian american restaurant. The menu hosts some of the simplest things to cook (pasta, rice etc) but the chefs can’t even seem to do this from fresh. Two of the chefs, a man and woman were too busy canoodling and flirting in the kitchen to be cooking any food anyway. Absolutely awful and a total waste of time and money."

"We made a reservation for 5:45 pm for a pre-theatre dinner, thinking we had plenty of time. However, when we arrived, there was no one to greet us at the door. Two members of our party had arrived before us, so we started making our way to our table. A staff member gestured for us to go back and wait by the door, but made no effort to come speak to us. After realizing we had a reservation, he stopped motioning for us to wait. We waited a long time for someone to take our order and had to ask for assistance. We finally placed our order around 6:15 pm. The drinks were brought by a confused waiter who asked if he had brought all the drinks we had ordered. There was no sign of the food even half an hour later. When we inquired, a waiter informed us that the food was on its way. Ten minutes later, when we asked again, we were told the food would arrive in another 10 minutes. This meant the food would not be served until after 7, when we had theatre tickets for 7:30. They never informed us that the kitchen was running behind schedule. They did not charge us for our drinks, but our family dinner and my son's birthday celebration were ruined. We had to quickly find a sandwich to eat so we would not be starving at the theatre. It may be suitable for a leisurely evening, but an hour and a half clearly was not enough time for a meal at this restaurant."
