"We visited this restaurant for the second time and knew what to expect. It was a pleasant evening. I ordered the Spareribs and my wife had the Gambas. We missed out on the all-you-can-eat Spareribs special on Thursdays, but still enjoyed our meal on Friday. The oven-baked potato was delicious. The Gambas had a slightly odd taste this time, but the dipping sauce made up for it. The service, especially from Natalie, was excellent. We look forward to returning to try out other dishes on the menu."

"the cafe 119 began to improve well since the beginning of the year, from 1 hour waiting times for 1 coffee and 1 small meal and tables that were never cleaned or cleaned. I have avoided this place for one because you look at it by looking past or thinking about the return and knowing if the food was great, the service was painful. Unfortunately, today seems to have been either another bad day or just typical café 119 service. we ordered 2 coffees and 2 sausage balls, we knew what we wanted to run there. during the order I was offered white or brown what I thought was strange for a baptism, and had to wait while the person who served me to check with the kitchen. my order was not read back to me before the payment. we were served 2 bacon sandwiches on brown brot, I simply asked the bar if our order had been mixed or changed. I said they fled from sausages and thought I had said speck. I guess that was what had to be checked in the kitchen when I looked stupid enough to get away with the serving of speck because they had no sausages cooked and didn't want to tell me from any reason. I felt like it was somehow my fault through the rude and flustered manager. definitiw ivy kitchen or costa from now on. also the wetherspoon around the corner has much better service. again disappointed."

"Online reservation was not found in the system despite confirmation. So we got a replacement place where it was cold. The meat was too solid from the bite. In spite of clear occupancy, the operation took a long time to complete the wishes. Have experienced better days with you!"

"Food was delicious, hot and plentiful, wine was good and not overpriced. Our server was very helpful explaining about the different dishes on the specials board, it's not a huge menu but personally I prefer that as it makes choosing starters mains just that little bit easier. The chef was able to adapt my husband's lamb dish to incorporate Dolmades, nothing was too much trouble. Also after we had finished our meals the chef came out to ask if we had enjoyed our food which was a lovely touch, as so often you never get to meet the person who create and construct such wonderful dishes and who work so hard behind the scenes. 10 10"

"This evening I dropped by the New Calley. Being a bit peckish after a long hard day I asked the staff (Jess John I believe) what they would recommend. I was led to a newish addition to the menu, a kebab. When this arrived...it was no van in a layby swished into a pitta bread, but a colourful vertically hanging skewer laden with large chunks of chicken interspersed with sweet pepper red onion. This was all grilled with a spicy coating and served with a peppery salad, Cole slaw fries, washed down with a really refreshing pint of White Horse Best Bitter. To Jess, John and all the staff at the Pub a great big thank you and certainly one very happy and sated diner. I'll be back for more."

"We had a great experience at this restaurant! We went for dinner and it was fantastic. Even my husband, who is not vegan, wants to go back when we are in the area again. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They were knowledgeable about the menu and were able to accommodate my daughter's soy intolerance by offering a plain tomato pasta for her. We started with the hummus, adapted with less oil for my daughter, and it was delicious. For our main dishes, we had the crispy sprouts, vegetable gyoza small plates, and the 'lamb' ragu and pumpkin tortellini pastas, all of which were incredibly tasty. We also enjoyed dessert, with the apple dumpling and cookie dough blondie being fantastic. The atmosphere was lovely. I highly recommend this restaurant for its vegetarian options and vegan menu. It is also kid-friendly; we brought our 1.5 year old and they provided a highchair. The staff were friendly with her and accommodated her needs with the menu."

"Having had a great veggie roast at Five Bells a few weeks before, we felt confident booking to take daughter son in law here for a meal. They are happy meat eaters who love their food. They were delighted with the opportunity to sample all 3 roast meats. And they’re now looking forward to their next visit to us and this great pub. I rarely eat meat. I’m happy I was tempted with the slow cooked brisket. Gorgeous. An ideal atmosphere great service too. The excellent local reputation is well deserved"

"Let’s start with the good. Menu is good and our server was very nice. The rest was just awful. My wife ordered a salad with extra tomatoes. The salad shows up with 1/2 a spoonful of tomatoes. She also ordered broccoli as a side. It shows up cold. I ordered a French Dip sandwich. The prime rib was so undercooked it was disgusting. I asked for well done crispy fries. I received lukewarm undercooked fries. I ordered coleslaw. After mentioning that it didn’t come out with my meal, it comes 15 minutes later. We asked to speak with the manager. She gives us a $25 voucher for the next time (which is useless since we’re traveling and don’t have a location in our state). She also gives us a free piece of chocolate cake with ice cream. My wife asked to leave the ice cream off. The cake shows up with ice cream. The chocolate cake was some strange concoction that tasted like mush. This was certainly the worst restaurant that I’ve been to in 10 years. No exaggeration… just awful"

"Over priced food, from a restaurant trying to be something its not. The food is not cheap but based on our experience, the food quality is nothing better than less than average pub grub. The service we had was quite frankly poor too. We were a slightly larger group but the food arrived sporadically and when it arrived the quality was not the best, unfortunately we had to send one steaks back as it was so badly Burnt it was cremated- what chef worth their pay serves burnt offerings like this . We actually wondered if the waiters had cooked it it was so poor. The food that arrived was basic at best, most was however edible but horribly overpriced for what was offered. Its a shame as we wanted to like this pub but based on our visit its got a LOT of work to do with regards to food quality , service and value for money."

"I'm updating this review to say I'm really pleased with the response I've had from the management of the shop and it doesn't sound like this is typical of the shop and definitely not endorsed by management. Very unimpressed by the lack of ethics and the pseudoscience being pushed in here. When I'm specifically looking for a vegan product and the shop worker is trying to convince me that cow farming is ethical? Not a good impression. I also overheard them peddling the alkaline body theory which is dangerous and absolute nonsense. I took my money elsewhere."

"This pub took a last minute request for 11 people and the staff were super friendly. They have a good selection of beer available and food too. They have parking available but we had to park near a residential property since it was full. It was a pretty cosy atmosphere and they had ample seating available. The hot and spicy wings had a good masala however the meat was pretty bland. The steak and ale was pretty good, we enjoyed the gravy. The Thai green curry was surprisingly authentic however the quantity could be a little bit more, the curry was too little for the rice provided. The brownie with ice-cream was delicious and the perfect amount."

"I don't really see why people make a big deal about this restaurant. We didn't order any smoked beef in part because I lived in NYC and have visited Montreal, so I have a high standard and didn't want to compare Gaby's with the best. Instead we ordered the daily special which was meatballs with rice and a lentil soup. The meal was ordinary at best, and the service was dreadfully unfriendly. The bathroom looked (but happily didn't smell) like China in the 1980s. The ambience was cramped and noisy thanks to one celebratory table. I'd advise anybody to give this place a pass."

"With several local friends we visited the Old Hunstanton Beach Cafe for Christmas dinner yesterday, the meal and friendly staff made it a special event that would have been a credit to any top restaurant. As locals we meet regular visitors who would never miss a trip to the best beach cafe in Norfolk whenever in the area. The quality of the varied food, catering for all tastes, can never be faulted on quality or price, and five gold stars is not enough to describe the food available. We wish all the management and staff a very happy Christmas and thank them for making everyone’s visit feel so special."
