"the melrose is located at the seafront of brighton, near the old west piers and opposite the british airways i360. it is just a mile of brighton train station to walk. we were the first customers through the door by five o'clock on Tuesday night and had a selection on tables. I decided to start oysters and shlit shoes, cooked kartoffels and mushy baptize for the main course. the oysters came from jersey and were most pleasant, supplemented by rugged. the skate wing was also really nice, although I couldn't finish the large amount of kartoffel! I had a nice bottle of sancerre, which was a great accompaniment to the seafoods. service was friendly and although the cost, including service, was a little expensive at over £115 for two, we really enjoyed eating and ambiente."

"I brought my partner to Sprinkles as a birthday treat. The shop 's bright fuschia signage is quite the visual addition to the bustling Portswood Road. My partner ordered Belgian Chocolate Waffles, which came as a surprise for the both of us as the size of it was just short of a dinner plate. It had a soft interior that was enveloped in a crispy crust topped with fresh strawberries that he and I equally enjoyed. As for me, I ordered the chocolate cookie dough. Again, the serving was big enough that we struggled to finish both our orders. A spoonful of the cookie along with some of the the vanilla ice cream (served in a locked jar that came as a side) gave a completely amazing experience as the contrasting textures of the warm, chewy dough, the soft, cool, silky ice cream and the chocolatety fudge sauce it was laced with mixed well in my mouth. However, I have to admit that the sweetness was far too overwhelming. The saying goes just because you could, doesn 't mean you should, as too much sugar was added to each individual component that made up a single dessert (whether it was the fudge sauce, ice cream, or dough). In hindsight, it may seem silly to complain about overtly sweetness seeing as how we were in a dessert shop but everything I tasted here contained such a high level of sugar than what could be considered pleasurable to the palette. Nonetheless, I found myself craving for Sprinkles for a few days after having come here. Staff were friendly and it 's a great place to hang out. Although next time we visit, I 'll be sharing a dessert with my partner instead."

"I am a HUGE Cote fan have gone on a regular basis for years with friends family in Glasgow London. Most recently in December Visited last night with friends was embarrassed as I chose to eat there booked telling them it was great tasty food, great value great wines. food was bland, not great, not a lot of it they only had 3 types of gin drinks were slow to come had to be chased on 3 occasions restaurant was only at best half full, so no idea why we had to continually chase drinks that did not arrive. I really don't enjoy posting this review as previously I have always enjoyed the food had a good dining experience liked the set menu a la carte choice. It looks like maybe the cost of living crisis has hit the chef recipes/ingredients/quality have dipped significantly. None of my friends had previously been to Cote so not a great experience for them on my recommendation"

"I love Ethiopia/Eritrean food. I proclaim this place to be in london after about 20 different places of this kitchen. even if not all eating is vegan. I would give it 5 stars if I could. vegan food in Ethiopia has been part of culture for thousands of years. part of being pure for religious purposes. what I like about this place is how different the dinning experience is from the norm. they are encouraged to eat with their hands (traditional) and to share from the same plate (later not optional, unless to eat alone). the personal is beautiful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place."

"another wonderful lunch in peperina today, with friendly permission from daniel, diego, william and co. my son had Argentinian sausages in ciabatta with a beautiful homemade pomme of tomaten and red wobbles and fries. I had a pflugmanns sandwich. I think the secret of the amazing food can not necessarily do with complexity, but with extremely good ingredients, a well-designed menu and an ambiente that is a joy. (and amazing coffee helps many more thanks, dear culinary friends, for a wonderful experience."

"Scarcity, as economics would entail, makes something valuable. In that regard, anything related to the early hours of the morning – from sunrises to brunches – should have their value in gold when it comes to me, considering my complete inability to partake in pre-11 am life. Brunches are actually one of my favorite activities out there – my obsession with egg based dishes knows no limits. I also find brunches to be rather classy and have this unique ability of making me feel as if life is worth living despite tube strikes, annoying people and dermatitis. It was about time to explore neighboring Bermondsey (to which I declare myself to belong to despite me being on the wrong side of...read more"

"yesterday we had one of the worst experiences in a restaurant. I was in the hospital and on the way to home made a reservation about the phone. Once we entered, we were accompanied on our table and given menus. 5 minutes after we had set ourselves, the very rude waitress (possibly South African) marched on our table and announced before the whole restaurant that we did not wear the right clothes and therefore had to leave clothes or change because they could not serve us. I am perfect with restaurants with a dress code (although they are in the rule in mayfair not knowle high st.) which I did not like was that this was not imparted to us on more discreet wise. it was very embarrassing, and we were made to feel like we were among them. we live in hampton in Arden, not a million miles away. yes, we were under dressed, but it was a Sunday afternoon afternoon, morning. If the waitress had been kind enough to talk with something decor, she would have realized that we had just arrived from the sick house and celebrated my good health, which explains the pension. I will not come back. I never felt so humiliated in my whole life."

"If you love chocolate , this place will be your paradise.! all very rich, with a lot of chocolate , it becomes a bit hostile (for my gout ,) so I recommend ordering something with chocolate and something fresh (helado, fruit, te,) not two things with chocolate at the same time, because it will be a lot, unless you are used to a muuuy high level of sugar. all very rich, they have muuuucha variety of sweet chocolatous things! (really, many,) the wonderful attention, very friendly who attend, the comfortable, clean place, a 7"

"We visited this restaurant for my wife's birthday. Staff were friendly and helpful, the food was excellent. What ruined the night was the drunken customers who were sat behind us and decided to engage in a lively discussion with a man on the next table to us. This discussion became louder and louder before one of the drunken men knocked his food off the table onto the floor. In the end, the drunks decided to arm wrestle each other. None of the staff did anything to stop them so we decided to leave. We told reception why we were leaving. A nice evening ruined by drunken customers!"

"Placed in the middle of the buzzing Harborne, The Plough is an outstanding pub and it's one of my favourites in the area. With plenty of excellent pubs to choose from in Harborne, it’s a hard decision finding an ideal one to start a pub crawl in the area. But if you’re looking for something to eat, first thing in the morning, The Plough is definitely worth stopping by Breakfast menu in The Plough is definitely not an average one. Not even the traditional Full English is that simple. Going for a smoked salmon, scrambled egg and toast was the best option I could have. You can't go wrong with salmon and eggs in the morning. "Shocking customer service. I went here with my sister yesterday as she had vouchers for there. After we walked through the door, we waited because we are unaware of whether to just take a seat or someone will show us to a seat. So we...asked a lady who was stood by the counter and she sharply said take a menu and sit down . We found a seat and took a look at the Broad menu.. I choose the brownie boom crepe but I wanted strawberries instead of bananas and my sister went for the velvet milk chocolate crepe. I went to the till to order for us and told the lady serving that we had a pound off voucher when you spend I told her what I wanted and she put it through but then told me that I can use their free hot drinks deal if I'm buying a crepe which effectively saves less than the voucher I have which I didn't want. I wanted to use my voucher so I respectively declined and used the voucher I wanted to use. Then the senior member of staff came over and said I should have the brownie delight crepe which is exactly what I want. I told her that the reason I didn't choose that one is because it has white chocolate whereas the brownie boom has milk chocolate. I told them I don't like milk chocolate. Then she said they will swap white for milk chocolate. But that's exactly the same as swapping banana for strawberry. What's the difference?! Hot drinks arrived.. My cappuccino didn't have chocolate on top which I thought was odd as I never requested for none. And my sisters tea came with an espresso cup full of milk which was impossible to pour! A lady brought my crepe to the table and told me that they accidentally put white chocolate on my crepe and then put milk on top to disguise it. I told them again that I don't like white chocolate so I won't accept it, meaning that have to make me a new crepe..she was clearly annoyed and threw the whole thing in the bin.. Then within seconds a new crepe arrived with my correct order but the lady practically threw it on the table and just walked away, not even an apology.. Talk about rude. And when my sister's finally came, they didn't even tell her what it was and just put it down and left!!! Attractive crepes however they were stone cold! Obviously aren't made fresh.. Very disappointing. Would not recommend anybody going here.. Stay clear!"

"As a French living in Ireland for 10y, I always avoid the French restaurants which are often overpriced and so not French at the end of the day. But I enjoyed my lunch there today ! It felt rather authentic all in all, reasonably priced and with a fair variety of choice. My only critic is that it was a bit hard to digest for a crêpe, as in, a bit too fat to my taste all in all, but I'd still go back and try another one. Also.. we stayed about 4h in the restaurant and weren't pressured by staff at all staff was very kind and helpful."

"Best Thai delivery I’ve had in ages. Food was delivered really quickly and was still hot when we unpacked it. Great selection of food available including vegan options. Food was fresh really tasty, decent size portions as well. A nice touch with eco packaging too! Panang curry with chicken was amazing, totally recommend. To finish off the meal we had crispy pancakes with custard which were also incredible. Absolutely loved it, will definitely order again from Camile!"

"The service was very good and both our starters were very nice. I had the lamb ragou which was very rich and a bit too spicy for my taste,my husband had a steak which was overly salty. The manager gave us a refund on the steak which was very nice but we would have preferred to have had a good meal"

"We booked the Garden Restaurant at The Grand Hotel on Friday and found it excellent. The attentive staff, who seemed to visit our table in time to the music, came back and forth, with the water, the wine, the warm bread rolls, the complimentary appetiser from the chef followed by our 3 courses. All the food was delicious though my husband wondered if a fish knife was not the best thing to cut up his broccoli (which was al dente). We took our coffee in the lounge and this was served with chocolatey sweetmeats We watched as the staff rolled up the carpet in syncopation. Maybe we could have stayed for a dance if we did not have a long drive home? Because we had to drive home we had ordered one glass of wine each, but i noticed after we had paid that we had been charged for 3 glasses."

"Really pleasantly surprised by this restaurant based purely on not expecting a great deal from a hotel restaurant, combined with the fact that we ate late on a Sunday and it was one on of the few places open rather than being a choice per se. The food was excellent from a varied and interesting menu. The service was friendly and knowledgeable, with an unexpectedly relaxed atmosphere considering that this is right in the city centre. Would return and recommend plenty more on this menu to tempt us back."

"We only went here by chance as we wanted to find somewhere to eat near Euston. I'm so glad we did. The place looks nothing from outside, and you would have to look to find it. We were hungry and ordered aubergines/seafood, beef/spicy peppers and garlic pak choi all with rice. The first dish arrived within about 5 or 10 minutes straight from the wok and snarling hot. The rest of the food followed soon after. It was all delicious. We come from Manchester, where we have good oriental restaurants. However, I am going to try and arrange another London trip just so that we can go here. Loved it."
