The wife's main course of vegetable green curry had a lovely variety of well-cooked vegetables, but the sauce was sweet and not spicy, despite asking for it to be spicy. The chicken stir fry dish was excruciatingly sweet, but plenty of fresh chicken and fresh vegetable ingredients, all well cooked. If they could reduce the sugar content of their food, I would come back!"

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sabai Sabai in Harborne, and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The restaurant has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere that immediately put me at ease, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout the meal. But of course, the real star of the show was the food. I tried several different dishes, but the one that really stood out to me was the Seabass in Garlic and Pepper. This dish was an absolute masterpiece the fish was cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and tender, juicy flesh inside, and the garlic and pepper seasoning was absolutely divine. It was one of the most delicious dishes I have ever had the pleasure of eating, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sabai Sabai. But the Seabass in Garlic and Pepper was just one of many highlights on the menu at Sabai Sabai. Every dish I tried was full of bold, vibrant flavors and fresh, high quality ingredients. The chefs clearly take great pride in their work, and it shows in every bite. Overall, I would give Sabai Sabai a five star rating without hesitation. From the friendly staff to the cozy atmosphere to the absolutely amazing food, everything about this restaurant was truly outstanding. "To manage one 's expectations, I would describe Robata as Japanese inspired rather than authentic Japanese food. To summarise, the service was good and the food was okay. Here are the pros and cons: Pros The waiting staff was attentive and gracious, even though 2 of our guests were VERY late. I really commend them for their patience. Service was fast. The waiting staff was well versed in allergens and there were plenty of dairy free and gluten free options The interior was quirky and reminded me of Japanese manga meets art nouveau which I liked very much! The general ambience and music were upbeat I can imagine Robata being a good option for pre going out dinner with friends or a casual first date, but some may find it a bit loud for intimate dinners The sake mojito was delicious! Cons The traditional Japanese menu items including sushi rolls and sashimi did not perform strongly. The robatayaki skewer items (Robata 's name sake) were better, but unfortunately did not steal my heart I felt the flavours and seasoning were too strong for my palate and this genre of food Neutral Observations The menu was eclectic with a mixture of Japanese (sushi, robatayaki) Korean (kimchi rice), Peruvian (ceviche) and other foods (I 'm not sure where tartare originates). There were some open 'bao ' options, which were some Asian inspired hot fillings wrapped in a flat piece of steamed bun. Personally, I 'm not a fan but I 've encountered this in a few restaurants in London so this seems to be a popular concept in recent times. Who knows? "

"We were well received and immediately taken to our table by a highly professional and personable server who looked after us very well throughout our visit. Nothing was too much trouble and we had some great laughs with him too. We ordered a variety of starters for two people and added a couple of extras on just to try them. The food was exceptional and plentiful, no complaints whatsoever. The cocktails are good, well priced and the wine list is sensible with a good choice. This place has a great vibe and everyone in the restaurant was having a good time, and importantly the staff were happy and all constantly making sure things were kept in top condition. "Don't judge a book by its cover.... beautiful building however this establishment is not customer friendly nor focused!! Woah, what an absolute crying shame, what was once a lovely old English pub filled with atmosphere and happy customers has become an incredible let down of an experiance. Visited yesterday (Saturday 12th August) with my incredibly patient partner to enjoy a few drinks and bite to eat. He went to the bar and purchased our drinks, thought it was odd when he eventually returned baring no real ale for himself which he was looking forward to sup on? He mentioned that all the pumps were not working, no alcoholic beverages in bottles and all that was available was soft drinks.... hmmm, I could see the pain upon his face yet being the person of positivity we opted to remain and tempt fate by ordering food. Off to the chaotic bar he went and placed our food order.... nearing an hour later half the order appeared. We waited for the rest of it to appear, to no avail.... we had noted that other diners were receiving other diners orders and confusion provided by staff was prevalent. My partner went to the bar to inquire as to where the rest of the order was only to be greeted with the demand of his receipt to prove payment by the very same member of staff who took the initial food order! Hmmm not impressed!! I went to the bar to seek remedy....more.uhmming and ahhing by the same member of staff who took the food order... full refund provided by a different staff member, no apology. Ironically there were many other diners leaving the pub dissatisfied with service and lack of available beverages and food quality if/when it appeared. There are evidently training issues which need to be addressed Absolutely zero level of customer service and customers comparing complaints quite openly...... Will not be going back unless I learn of new staff and management team... I can confirm, they cannot arrange a p@@s up in a brewery due to lack of alcohol and competence!!"

"We were staying at the BLVD hotel invited 2 extra guests for Dinner in the restaurant. Lovely meal catching up. We all ate off the Al a carte menu. 3 of us had 3 courses and 1 had 2 courses. I had smoked salmon, rib eye steak followed by trifle, portion sizes were great. Everyone enjoyed the food, service was attentive but not intrusive. Very relaxed atmosphere and we spent 3 hours with our meal but didn't feel rushed and there were no delays in clearing the table or getting the next course. Bill incl. drinks was £220 tip for 4 which I thought was about right. My only teeny weeny gripe is that I asked for a White Russian with my meal and the restaurant said they didn't have any but going to the bar after the meal I noticed that they did stock Kahlua. The new barmaid was absolutely lovely and even though she had never heard of a white Russian she was so obliging and made us two which were perfectly fine so all good in the end. Super polite staff. Would definitely stay at the hotel and eat here again."

"I visited Siamais Broad Street for a Sunday afternoon meal. It was quite quiet at that time, but the host provided excellent service. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with a wide variety of options on the menu. The brunch menu, however, lacks cocktail choices, so I wouldn’t recommend it for that. The setting is lovely, making it a great spot for a date night, especially since it’s close to many nice bars in Brindley Place. The only downside is the price, which is on the higher side, but that’s typical for Birmingham. Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant. "first day in the margot for st patricks sitting the ambiente and the environment were very nice. trendy bar with comfortable sitting options and some cool little features. feels quite intimate with dimm lighting and mixing of stands, sofas and tables personal was also really nice. great prompt service around with a smile, especially the great male manager, who was nice enough to load my phone we had to share the Mezzo plate. it was enough to fill both of us, because no complaining to everyone was eating and meat was fab. also noticed the express lunch deal (less than for chips, main and softdrink) that looked like brilliant price-performance ratio. they were sweet and tasty, although the bao could have been a bit softer to separate with a spoon of cocktail menu, has many different dings on it. exciting to try some new creations. my mother (not in the regular in cocktails) thought the blueberry hill was incredible. the love will radiate us apart, was also very nice. the cherry blossom found a little synthetic (taste just like a cherry-surz shot) and was not as good as the other two, although I loved the fresh flowers as garnish perfect photo opportunity. would make a perfect place for a relaxed date."

"Today, seven of us went to a bottomless brunch and it was a big mistake. The first drink took 40 minutes to arrive and the waitress argued that she didn't take our food order when she actually did. The manager was very sassy and dismissive when we mentioned the delay in our drink arrival, stating that it was busy and walking off. Additionally, the nachos were listed as vegetarian on the menu, but they came with bacon unless specifically requested without. We were granted an additional 20 minutes on our drinks, but there was no waitress service during this time. When the time was up, the bill was brought to us without any offer of more drinks or dessert. There was also no separate area for brunchgoers, resulting in families being seated among our group of ladies having a lively time. Overall, the staff were rude and argumentative, and the lack of popular menu items like curry was disappointing. We will not be returning to this restaurant."

"I paid £9.50 for truffle fries at this restaurant. They had cheap parmesan sprinkled on top and were served cold, with a heavy oil taste from being double fried. The chicken was decent, although it was a bit overcooked. The only good thing about the meal was the salsa verde, which I suspect was store-bought. The mushroom rigatoni had plenty of mushrooms but was overall bland and overcooked, lacking any sort of sauce to hold it together. It was like eating mushroom soup with pasta. The dishes were all garnished with cheap, not very fresh pea shoots. The tempura asparagus was disappointing and overpriced, with all three pieces I had containing the tough, inedible ends of the asparagus. The tempura batter was dense and chewy, likely because they attempted to make it themselves. The cocktails were also underwhelming. The French hostess/waitress was lovely and accommodating, but the manager seemed completely out of touch and lost."

However I really cannot understand how a restaurant like this thinks its acceptable to service room temperature white wine, waiter said it will cool down quickly in an ice bucket but then put ice cubes in a bucket with no water and we put ice cubes in the wine to chill down. Only the final glasses were correctly chilled and then thought ok to try to charge the whole bill with 13.5% service. They just need to consider what its like being a customer. Otherwise a good meal and lovely restaurant."
