"We had booked a table for 7.30 pm dinner and after waiting in line we’re shown to a table. The table next to us was very very loud and discussing business on a Saturday night. We could not hear each other above their din. After 30 minutes a waiter came to take our order and we asked for a quieter table. We were told to walk outside to the terrace. Essentially this is an area in the thoroughfare of the hotel (inside) behind a wooden low fence. After another 20 minutes I went to find a waiter who said he would come out to take our order. After another 10 minutes I went and found another server. The waiter I had seen before recognised me and hit his hand on his head and came out to us. The starter was delicious but we had to chase up the bottle of wine and never got our glasses of water. When the main course was delivered by a lady she said “Bon appetit” but we said we couldn’t eat without cutlery. She promised us some but we never saw her again. After 5 minutes my husband went and found cutlery because his fish and chips were getting cold. My shepherds pie was tasteless, lots of potato and a thin layer of lamb in a watery tasteless gravy. Nobody ever came back to check on us. They add a discretionary 12.5% tip for a service charge which I didn’t think they deserved so we took the bill to the desk and told the manager of our experience. He blames the management for trying to reduce staff and told us it was our own fault because we voted for Brexit. I pointed out to him I didn’t. He said it is like that every night. He removed the service charge and 20% off the food which was fair but next time I stay at the Sofitel I will bring a picnic and save a pot of money and disappointment."

"Thank you for the hospitality that I received when visiting your Media City restaurant last Friday for a pre-theatre meal. Food and Menu There is a simple menu that includes all the Italian and American classics that people love to eat. The choices are limited however it does cater for a range of diners from the Meat lover to the Vegetarian. In the Starters there is a Garlic Pizza Bread that is tasty with a great Garlic aroma. There is also American Style Nachos with Jalapeños and all the sauces to dip into. In addition, there is Calamari, Ribs and the Chicken Crunch too. In the Mains there is a great selection of Pizzas with good flavours. There are also additional toppings that you can add on for an extra charge. There is also a decent variety of Steak, Pasta, and Salad dishes for those that fancy them too. For the Burger fan there are some Beef Burgers and a Chicken Fillet one too. There is also a wide variety of sides that are a great addition to your meal from Chips, Sweet Potato Fries to Onion Rings and Garlic Bread too. For those with a sweet tooth then there is a selection of popular Desserts including the Warm Chocolate Brownie, Cheesecake and, Tiramisu that is creamy and indulgent to eat. If you like cold Desserts then there is Ice Cream and the Knicker Bocker Glory. For the Starters the Garlic Pizza Bread was tasty and moorish. It was soft in the middle with a bite on the edges. It was yummy. The Calamari was pleasant to eat but could have been cooked more as it was slightly rubbery to eat. For the Mains the Chicken Fillet Burger was perfectly cooked and it was beautifully presented. It was tasty and heart-warming to eat. The Salad and the Mayonnaise added more flavour. The Sweet Potato Fries were comforting to eat. They were crispy on the outside with soft fluffy Potato on the inside. I love how they are presented in a small pan dish. Cute. The Onion Rings were scrumptious. Their crispy batter was great on the outside with soft Onion pieces inside. It was a heart pleaser. For Dessert the Chocolate Brownie and Ice Cream was heavenly to eat. The Brownie was cooked superbly. It was not hard to eat but it was runny with gooey and indulgent Chocolate. Yum. The Ice Cream was great too as it cut through the richness of the Chocolate adding texture. It was also stunning in presentation in which the Chocolate Brownie is in the middle of the plate with a lovely scoop of Ice Cream on top. Drinks They have a good selection of soft drinks which include all the popular ones to have. There is also a small variety of juices on offer too. However they do not serve non-alcoholic Mocktails. Service The service was good. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and accommodating. She gave us the time to choose our dishes. Her suggestions for food were spot on. It was good that the food came out pretty quickly and it was beautifully presented. Lighting and Access The lighting at this restaurant was pretty bright which allows for an enjoyable meal for most people including those with visual impairments. Entry to this restaurant is at the Holiday Inn Hotel to which there is a small step to enter into the building. Once inside there are stairs and lifts to get to the Mezzazine floor. This is where you will find the restaurant. There are no stairs inside as it is on one level. Furniture The furniture here is brilliant. I love the big tables which are spacious. The chairs are big and are comfortable to sit on. This gives a relaxed ambiance so that you can dine in style. Parking Parking is available at the Quayside Media City UK multi-storey car park (formerly The Lowry). If you are a Blue Badge holder then you will get 4 free hours when stamping your ticket. This takes effect from the time of arrival. Alternatively you can park at the Media City multi-storey which is closer to the venue. Pricing The pricing of the dishes at this restaurant are mid- range. However it is worth visiting once a while especially if the waiters are good, the food is tasty and that it is beautifully presented. If you love to eat Italian and American food within a relaxed atmosphere then head down to your local Marco’s."

"Bland food and very overpriced, ribs ok, squid was flubbery but fresh, the tacos with salmon mix and mayo were grim only eatable after adding chilli sauce too, and two for 11 quid was a joke. Sake OK and had a beer. , 65 quid for one, is not good, won't return. If you think One bottle 70cl of Sake for 18 x 4 is fair! Come on 72 quid... , indicative of food price... ! I went to you twice, as I was hungry..., re. the Chinese next door they may have been ok, but after finishing one pint and there not being internet, I asked them for your password, I needed to go. I also asked if they had started to cook my food at which point they said no. I paid them for beer and said, I would return. The fact, there did not seem to be much cooking going on was a red flag to me and I did not have time. Your concept is ok, but a bit of drift wood in comparison to London and it's my fault to draw comparisons, and I did give it a second chance but simply put it's not very good. Seems you have a bee in your bonnet, re. Chinese food and cutting and pasting recurring theme, Only just started reviewing items. Please don't make comparison between a Chinese directly next to your abode that may be ok, and fact you are trying the London street food tribe here in Blackpool, which I wish you luck with, but having seen it and spending money with you on separate occasions please have the grace to say thank you and good bye. Else to many perhaps you may look a bit tribal and bitter. Good luck."
