"We had booked a table for 7.30 pm dinner and after waiting in line we’re shown to a table. The table next to us was very very loud and discussing business on a Saturday night. We could not hear each other above their din. After 30 minutes a waiter came to take our order and we asked for a quieter table. We were told to walk outside to the terrace. Essentially this is an area in the thoroughfare of the hotel (inside) behind a wooden low fence. After another 20 minutes I went to find a waiter who said he would come out to take our order. After another 10 minutes I went and found another server. The waiter I had seen before recognised me and hit his hand on his head and came out to us. The starter was delicious but we had to chase up the bottle of wine and never got our glasses of water. When the main course was delivered by a lady she said “Bon appetit” but we said we couldn’t eat without cutlery. She promised us some but we never saw her again. After 5 minutes my husband went and found cutlery because his fish and chips were getting cold. My shepherds pie was tasteless, lots of potato and a thin layer of lamb in a watery tasteless gravy. Nobody ever came back to check on us. They add a discretionary 12.5% tip for a service charge which I didn’t think they deserved so we took the bill to the desk and told the manager of our experience. He blames the management for trying to reduce staff and told us it was our own fault because we voted for Brexit. I pointed out to him I didn’t. He said it is like that every night. He removed the service charge and 20% off the food which was fair but next time I stay at the Sofitel I will bring a picnic and save a pot of money and disappointment."

"I have been visiting Doughnotts since it first opened in the other location. It was fantastic then, and it has only gotten better. I have also bought donuts from the stand in Beeston and several Vegan Markets. Additionally, this year, I got a giant donut...and a donut decorating kit for my birthday cake/birthday party. My favourite is the Homer Donuts, followed by the Cute Avocado with the tiny doughnut as the stone, and the Jammy Dodger ones. The vegan selection is vast and incredibly impressive I actually can't taste the difference at all between the Vegan and Non-Vegan ones. Don't think I have tried one that I don't like. They also do doughnuts for dogs (dog treats not made of pastry) which mine really enjoy, and they serve degrees coffee (which is amazing). The staff are friendly, and although I can get very nervous ordering, they have always been very patient, and helpful."

"We stopped here for lunch yesterday. I had the Tomato and Red Pepper Soup followed by the Smoked Salmon Sandwich both were incredible. I have never seen such thick cut smoked salmon and I was pleased to hear that it came from a nearby smoke house. My husband had the Crawl (ham and lamb stew) followed by the Chicken, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwich; again both were incredible. Our friend had the homemade beef burger which was succulent and beautifully cooked. The lady that served us, went out of her way to help and her customer service was 5 star. We will definitely visit again."

"The food here is wonderful. Well cooked food with great flavours. The ambience is perfect and the smell of amazing food hits you when you walk through the door. The service was brilliant. Very friendly but not overly so with very prompt service. I had the peri-peri wings to start and they are lovely. Good sized wings and just spicy enough. I had a king prawn main which was also delicious. My friend had the mutton curry which was incredible and I have since had as a take away from them. Huge chunks of tender meat with no gristle with a thick sauce. My new favourite food to order in and one of the best curries I have had. The rice and peas were cooked perfectly. The dumplings are amazing, they are so like donuts as to feel like a real treat! I would recommend Bishops and will definitely go again, and hopefully often."

"No customer service skills whatsoever. Had 2 Taco lunches which were ok. After we finished my friend ordered a second coffee. The waitress (who was more interested in looking at her phone for most of the time we were there) spilled a cup of coffee over my friend legs as she was putting it down in to the table. She apologised, brought a large toll of blue paper to the table and then left us to clear up the mess!! She made and delivered a new cup of coffee but there was no concern for my friend whose trousers and socks were soaking wet as the coffee had run down into her boots. After a while when they were not forthcoming, I suggested that she should receive the coffee as a complimentary one. They looked at me as if I had two heads. “ you want your money back?” I said it was the least they could do and they get her her £2.50 back. To top it all we overheard the waitress talking about us to a member of the kitchen staff whilst sitting behind us. The staff need some customer service training. Not very Optimistic that we’ll be going back."

"Thank you for the hospitality that I received when visiting your Media City restaurant last Friday for a pre-theatre meal. Food and Menu There is a simple menu that includes all the Italian and American classics that people love to eat. The choices are limited however it does cater for a range of diners from the Meat lover to the Vegetarian. In the Starters there is a Garlic Pizza Bread that is tasty with a great Garlic aroma. There is also American Style Nachos with Jalapeños and all the sauces to dip into. In addition, there is Calamari, Ribs and the Chicken Crunch too. In the Mains there is a great selection of Pizzas with good flavours. There are also additional toppings that you can add on for an extra charge. There is also a decent variety of Steak, Pasta, and Salad dishes for those that fancy them too. For the Burger fan there are some Beef Burgers and a Chicken Fillet one too. There is also a wide variety of sides that are a great addition to your meal from Chips, Sweet Potato Fries to Onion Rings and Garlic Bread too. For those with a sweet tooth then there is a selection of popular Desserts including the Warm Chocolate Brownie, Cheesecake and, Tiramisu that is creamy and indulgent to eat. If you like cold Desserts then there is Ice Cream and the Knicker Bocker Glory. For the Starters the Garlic Pizza Bread was tasty and moorish. It was soft in the middle with a bite on the edges. It was yummy. The Calamari was pleasant to eat but could have been cooked more as it was slightly rubbery to eat. For the Mains the Chicken Fillet Burger was perfectly cooked and it was beautifully presented. It was tasty and heart-warming to eat. The Salad and the Mayonnaise added more flavour. The Sweet Potato Fries were comforting to eat. They were crispy on the outside with soft fluffy Potato on the inside. I love how they are presented in a small pan dish. Cute. The Onion Rings were scrumptious. Their crispy batter was great on the outside with soft Onion pieces inside. It was a heart pleaser. For Dessert the Chocolate Brownie and Ice Cream was heavenly to eat. The Brownie was cooked superbly. It was not hard to eat but it was runny with gooey and indulgent Chocolate. Yum. The Ice Cream was great too as it cut through the richness of the Chocolate adding texture. It was also stunning in presentation in which the Chocolate Brownie is in the middle of the plate with a lovely scoop of Ice Cream on top. Drinks They have a good selection of soft drinks which include all the popular ones to have. There is also a small variety of juices on offer too. However they do not serve non-alcoholic Mocktails. Service The service was good. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and accommodating. She gave us the time to choose our dishes. Her suggestions for food were spot on. It was good that the food came out pretty quickly and it was beautifully presented. Lighting and Access The lighting at this restaurant was pretty bright which allows for an enjoyable meal for most people including those with visual impairments. Entry to this restaurant is at the Holiday Inn Hotel to which there is a small step to enter into the building. Once inside there are stairs and lifts to get to the Mezzazine floor. This is where you will find the restaurant. There are no stairs inside as it is on one level. Furniture The furniture here is brilliant. I love the big tables which are spacious. The chairs are big and are comfortable to sit on. This gives a relaxed ambiance so that you can dine in style. Parking Parking is available at the Quayside Media City UK multi-storey car park (formerly The Lowry). If you are a Blue Badge holder then you will get 4 free hours when stamping your ticket. This takes effect from the time of arrival. Alternatively you can park at the Media City multi-storey which is closer to the venue. Pricing The pricing of the dishes at this restaurant are mid- range. However it is worth visiting once a while especially if the waiters are good, the food is tasty and that it is beautifully presented. If you love to eat Italian and American food within a relaxed atmosphere then head down to your local Marco’s."

"I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The service, food (we had a roast this time—those roast potatoes were incredible!), the atmosphere, and the cocktails were all exceptional. I've been here several times, and I've never been disappointed. A special shout-out to Louise! All the staff (there's a large team, so you're never left waiting) were great, but Louise really stood out. She even managed to make our very shy son smile! We've tried the lunch and dinner menus, and everything has always been delicious. Plus, kids eat free on Sunday afternoons! Hats off to Harpers—bravo!"

"Every time I eat at 21, I wonder why we don’t come here more often! The food here is always lovely, I’ve never had a bad meal here which is something I can’t say about many restaurants, and the service is just perfect. So many restaurants we have eaten at recently have a very casual approach to service which is fine, but sometimes it’s nice to eat somewhere where you are made to feel a bit special and where nothing is too much trouble. 21 has that off to a tee! We ate here on a Wednesday night and took advantage of the Bring Your Own Wine offer. The set menu was really good and we had the terrine and ceviche to start followed by a delicious duck confit and a braised beef shoulder which my husband said was fabulous. Some chocolatey/nutty thing for pud and some cheese. The only slight quibble was that the slice of cheese was on the meagre side (there were lots of crackers and bread and a nice chutney) but as I was so full from the first two courses, it was possibly a blessing in disguise! We brought our trainee guide dog with us and all the staff were so kind and helpful. Thanks so much to everyone at 21 for a lovely evening and we hope to come back soon."

"So I recently visited FireJacks and it was a Monday night. It wasn’t very busy but it was the place we wanted to go to. Now it might also be the first place I’ve ever been where the food took less time than the drinks, and the drinks came in a very appropriate time. This did make me wonder as to how a K Jacket could be produced in under 5 minutes and therefore the freshness of the food is very debatable. The k jacker was a nice chicken burger however with a cold dry bun it let itself down. I also got cheesy fries which again were nice but knowing how cheap chips are to produce a few more would have been nice. Sadly firejacks didn’t light up our evening."

"Great place but starting to look a bit tired. Toilets are an issue as limited and not particularly clean which is always a red flag! Try and get an attendant who is ideally not serving food, to check the loos every 15 mins and discourage patrons from allowing their dogs to sit on the seats. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch"

"my son took me to lunch in a small local bistro, which I often pass, but never really took a message from it. he had been fleeing this place for ever, telling me how good it was eating, so I finally passed last night when I had the day off. we were immediately greeted by a smiling, friendly, attentive waitress who showed us a table. we ordered the arrabbiata chicken pasta and the mushroom risotto, they were beautifully presented, excellent portion sizes, fresh hot food packed with taste, absolutely exceptional. they have a great choice of weeping and beating, and an attractive presented display of pastries and cakes that tasted amazing. this small bistro is recommended for food lovers,"

"This charming inn, dating back to the 16th and 15th centuries, offers easy car parking. After a visit to Papworth, we stayed for one night in the suite above the bar. The room was fabulous, with quirky features like uneven walls adding to the charm. The bed was great, ensuring a good night's sleep. Our evening meal was of very high quality, with standout dishes like the homemade orange cookies with liver parfait and the perfectly cooked flat iron steak and teriyaki. The chef even came to greet us, a nice personal touch. We enjoyed sitting by the lovely log burner for the rest of the evening. The breakfast the next morning was also exceptional, with attention to detail even on something as simple as a sausage sandwich. The staff, including one who was learning English, were all attentive and friendly. Overall, a great experience. Thank you to Sid, Alex, and the rest of the team!"

"The staff were very friendly, which is the main reason I’m giving them 2 stars. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. We experienced a long wait, and when our meals finally arrived, we found that both of us were missing items from our plates. When we brought this to the staff's attention, they informed us that the items had run out and offered us a substitute instead. The food was extremely greasy and tasted like old oil, and it was served lukewarm to cold. While the staff were kind enough to remove one drink from our bill, I won’t be returning. I forced myself to eat the food because I was starving, but I regretted it afterward. I wouldn't recommend this place, especially on weekends."

"Bland food and very overpriced, ribs ok, squid was flubbery but fresh, the tacos with salmon mix and mayo were grim only eatable after adding chilli sauce too, and two for 11 quid was a joke. Sake OK and had a beer. , 65 quid for one, is not good, won't return. If you think One bottle 70cl of Sake for 18 x 4 is fair! Come on 72 quid... , indicative of food price... ! I went to you twice, as I was hungry..., re. the Chinese next door they may have been ok, but after finishing one pint and there not being internet, I asked them for your password, I needed to go. I also asked if they had started to cook my food at which point they said no. I paid them for beer and said, I would return. The fact, there did not seem to be much cooking going on was a red flag to me and I did not have time. Your concept is ok, but a bit of drift wood in comparison to London and it's my fault to draw comparisons, and I did give it a second chance but simply put it's not very good. Seems you have a bee in your bonnet, re. Chinese food and cutting and pasting recurring theme, Only just started reviewing items. Please don't make comparison between a Chinese directly next to your abode that may be ok, and fact you are trying the London street food tribe here in Blackpool, which I wish you luck with, but having seen it and spending money with you on separate occasions please have the grace to say thank you and good bye. Else to many perhaps you may look a bit tribal and bitter. Good luck."

"The food is decent, but being a buffet, it can sometimes be a bit cold. The service is average. This is a dine-in restaurant that serves lunch, with a price range of £40-50 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a rating of 3 out of 5. Recommended dishes include the Chocolate Fountain and Sweet and Sour Chicken. There is plenty of parking available, with free parking options."

"amazing! would recommend this to everyone. we had a great time yesterday. was so nice to find somewhere locally, to sit outside and to relax with the baby and have fabulous eating. with my other half always restless when it comes to eating as he used to be a cook. he even gave this place 5*. the personal and the whole atmosphere were so friendly. I can't wait until another gras and a glass of wine goes back:"

"Popped in here with family and had a lovely meal. Being able to sit at the table undercover, it was raining, and still watch all the boats was very relaxing. We ordered cheese and bacon burger, nduja macaroni cheese and a banana wharf salad. The service was extremely polite and efficient. Great selection of beers, ales, ciders and wines. I bet its very popular in the evenings. The food was lovely and hot and tasted very fresh. The only criticism I could make is its a bit expensive but I guess your paying for the location as well. Its a large menu so plenty to choose from. Ill definitely come here again."

"We’ve been to Queensway a number of times and although it seems an untidy pub and a little tired, the food has always been good. Unfortunately, tonight the food was not very good. We were a family party of 9. We were told we could order a Christmas dinner on arrival but it was not available. We were told there was no gammon so not a full mixed grill which was my husbands choice and the gammon meal off for the same reason. There was no coleslaw, no lettuce and no cucumber. This seems totally disorganised given the time of year and a full pub. The meals were not great! My 12oz steak was dry (my husband cooks much better steak at home) and very tough and a small portion of chips accompanied it even though the menu said a larger portion. My sister in law s steak looked very dry too. I’m afraid our next family get together won’t be at this pub. I booked the meal and feel responsible for the family’s disappointment!"

"We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights over the weekend while visiting the Christmas Market in Bath. We stayed in the Avon room, which was beautifully renovated and stylish. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice touch of having a cafetiere and proper coffee. We appreciated the relaxing music playing on the radio when we arrived, it really added to the atmosphere. The room also had a lovely terrace balcony, although we didn't get to use it much due to the cold weather. Despite being concerned about noise from the pub/restaurant below, it was mostly quiet. The only time it was loud was during live music on Saturday night, which may have been an issue for some guests. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially the blonde lady serving breakfast on the morning we checked out. The location is convenient, only a 15-minute drive from Bath. The building itself is beautiful and peaceful. The only downside was that the food could use some improvement in terms of quality control. We had burnt toast at breakfast and a burnt burger bun for dinner. The venison was also quite tough. However, the biscoff donuts were amazing! Overall, it was a great stay in a cozy and charming place."
