"Bad food. Loooong wait both for drinks and food. Waiter (owner I was told) got 2 meals wrong. Brought calamari fritti for my husband and I which he never ordered in his life and I can 't stand them as they are like rubber in the UK so would never have ordered that. Waiter insisted I did, not once but 3x! My husband actually asked for whitebait! My husband ordered calf 's liver as a main which is soft and succulent in France, Germany and Greec etc. It was thin and like shoe leather. It is supposed to go into a hot pan, then turned over after a few seconds and taken out of pan served. This is what it should be like "A classic of British cooking, Calf 's Liver is succulently tender and fine grained with a deliciously mild, sweet flavour. More and more people are discovering the delicious flavour of Calf 's Liver due to its place on the menus.« I took it home to give to the dog and foxes!! My friend next to me (we were 13) ordered meatballs which were so salty she couldn 't eat them. Another lady didn 't like how the fish was done. It was mediocre. MY mussels had anorexia. I have photos. They were non existent or if there was one in the shell, it didn 't measure more than 5mm. 20 were empty and the sauce was not nice. Obvs they were not fresh mussels, they were cooked already and just heated up. Lots and lots of small broken shells in the sauce. Must have been the last dregs. Just as well I didn 't swallow one of the shards. Will I go back? No, I 'll go to a real Italian restaurant next time. Bragging about an Italian chef! He needs to go on a cookery course IN ITALY! I lived, ate and cooked there. I know what Italian food is supposed to taste like!!!!! And sooo expensive."

"Firstly, I am somewhat amazed at the reviews theis venue has based on our visit on Saturday evening. We arrived 45 minutes early for our table for 4 persons at 7.30pm as I had called ahead at lunchtime asking if they had a bar area that we could sit and select from the menu in advance of being seated in the restaurant. I was given the impression that they had a lavish area for this purpose. However, this was not the case and we were shown to our table on arrival which was probably the worst location in the restaurant that was sparse of diners at that time. I will elaborate on our table location as it made for a negative night. It was a circular table placed in a “gap” between the original restaurant area and what appeared to be an extension to the restaurant. This gap did have curtains that could have been closed which would have curtailed guests and staff squeezing between the wall and one of our chairs but when asked the Owner said he would not close them……. In fairness, “Theo” the Owner did offer the choice another two alternative tables but both were in no better location! We sat and ordered drinks and were provided with menus. The drinks arrived in a timely fashion and were made fine. I also ordered some wine which was decanted and allowed time to breath before being served. The wine was an Amorone but the year did not warrant the price he was charging but nonetheless was quite good. We placed our food order and in doing so I asked if chef would add a simple fried egg to top the steak I had ordered. I was told by Theo that he was down a number of staff on the evening shift and could not provide the egg. How many people would we have needed to fry an egg???? To be honest the whole experience was not worth almost £500.00 even though the food fine. We also found it disturbing the way Theo tried to control the waiting staff this may have been because they were young or new to the role but we felt that the staff did a good job and didn’t need micro managing! I am always curious when a front of house individual, who gives the impression he is in total control, loses the plot mid service. I did tell Theo I would give a poor review and he pretty much dismissed me so I dug a little deeper and it would appear the restaurant has suffered financial issues in the very recent past…….. this information is in the public domaine through Google. All in all we were so disappointed with a venue that appears to have a wealth of happy diners from their reviews……. It’s NOT that good Guys!!!"

"first impressions of this beautiful restaurant were absolutely great. I had to wait a little to come in, but the brave guy was ever so sweet, and polite, then when I arrived at the podium, the ladies were apologetic for my waiting and then took my coat, it was absolutely great experience. Bar employees were very attentive, and fast to serve me. then we ordered food and it was absolutely mouth water. we had a great experience in all and I would recommend this place completely when they pass, try to impress their date or just have a romantic meal with their partner."

"I booked a table as their set menu on a specific day looked really nice. It did say in the small print that they charge 13.5% service which is rather unusual so I expected a great service. The food was excellent and the waitresses nice and smiling although we did feel a bit neglected as the restaurant got busy. The issue we have is that they brought the bottle of wine and left it there on the table. They never poured the wine or water. Bearing in mind that they only take your order for the drinks as the food is a set menu and that you have to pour your wine, I think 13.5% service is totally unreasonable. What is also wrong/a bit sneaky is that on the bill it only said service charge without the percentage and most people would just pay it without thinking twice about it. Ours was over £11 but for what?? I asked for it to be removed which was done without any problem although we were asked whether they had been any issues with the service. We left some cash. The food was great but the service really did not meet the expectation of a 13.5% service charge."

"We are regulars at the inn and our experience last night was amazing. Phil our waiter could not do enough for us and definitely deserved a mention!! The food was lovely, there was an issue with one of the mains but this was sorted quickly and nothing was too much hassle. Thank you for making our experience so special. We will be back soon!!"

"After dining at this restaurant multiple times, I made a reservation for dinner with three friends and was extremely let down by the decline in quality. The cocktails lacked flavor, the wine was tasteless, and all the food was overly salty. The lemon sole was overcooked, the butter sauce tasted burnt instead of nutty. The aubergine main dish was small and lacked flavor, more suitable as a starter. The halloumi main was bland and the sole goujons were lukewarm at best. The dessert, rhubarb frangipane, tasted like a subpar Bakewell tart with minimal rhubarb, and the Balthazar coupe was overly sweet. At a price of £270, this meal was far too expensive for the subpar quality. I am unsure if there has been a change in management at this restaurant, but I was truly disappointed and embarrassed to have recommended it to my friends. I will not be returning or suggesting this restaurant to others in the future."

"The restaurant itself was not as warm/pleasant in terms of decor/setting as I'd expect from Carluccios; the atmosphere was more like a cafe. However our waiter was absolutely fantastic; he was very friendly and efficient, made us feel very welcome and did a great job. The food was absolutely delicious, even though they were short-staffed and only had one chef there."

"eating is excellent, although portioning is not for great appetit. service reasonable, but manager very arrogant and rude, although if you get a trunk they get some attention. if customers pay good money for a culinary experience, it must be an appreciation for it and some efforts to improve the experience, otherwise customers will not return. essentially the manager has to change his appointment."

"I recently ate at the Horsham branch with my teenage son. We had a starter each. We had a main course. A older blonde lady took our order. Our starters came after quite a wait. When she took our plates the waitress said “you must have been starving you ate them so quickly” we had eaten them at a normal speed! Two small starters do not take too long to eat! After waiting for 20minutes I called over another waiter, he assumed I was asking for the bill, as we had been there so long. I said that, no, we were still waiting for our mains. The restaurant was not busy. He sent over the original waitress who took our order and she stated that because we were so starving and ate our starters so fast, our mains are on a timer and we’d have to wait! We waited 40 minutes from our starter until our main course. There was no apology for the wait. She just said that it was our fault for eating our starter so fast! I found this very odd and have never been given this explanation before. We will not be returning as I found her very rude."

"Warm greeting on arrival and an unexpected free glass of prosecco to celebrate my friend's birthday. The staff are very attentive and welcoming. We both had sea bass with various vegetable accompaniments which was very pleasant and tasty. Lively and buzzy atmosphere and good views of Leadenhall market from the first floor windows."

"It’s a hit and miss for us. Some of the dishes stood out whereas rest were not upto mark. The beef dishes, salmon starter, Thai curry and rice were among the nice ones whereas noodle and salad were the worst. Most of the items are deep fried which came as a shame especially for salad. The portions were good and filling. Good staff but ambience I prefer Leamington Spa. Over all a good experience. Visited Sep 23 Vegetarian options: There are a lot of options. Dietary restrictions: There are vegetarian options available Parking: It will difficult to find parking and nothing is free. "The staff were all lovely at No. 15 however the bar need to keep on top of the wine menu. We ordered an expensive bottle (it was a celebration! and they didn't have it in stock, but it took them a while to figure that out. A more expensive bottle was substituted at the same price, which was a lovely gesture, however the staff need more training in how to serve expensive wine (temperature and tasting etc . The menu was super interesting and seasonal and the food tasted lovely. There was a lot of kale based veggies given the season though! The dining room is the basement, but accessible via lift and is light, but cosy."

"Even though we informed them in advance, there were very few gluten-free options available at this restaurant. The menu was very French, with duck and foie gras being the main features. The gluten-free bread was brought out very late and was of low quality, unlike anything I've experienced at a London restaurant in a long time. The steak was delicious, but the sorbets were too sour and the prices were quite high."

"I have visited this restaurant before and was unimpressed with he quality of the food. I year later, I decided to give it another chance. Very little has changed. My Pad Thai was gloopy, tasted like it had been reheated and not built up from fresh ingredients. Bland flavour and tasteless. All srvered up like warm on cold plates. I also ordered a roti, which was greasy, part cook, and equally undesirable. The chef needs changing as a matter or urgency before things will improve. You need a competent chef with cabaility and passion for his cooking. The restaurant was relatively empty, just a few tables being occupied, probably say's it all. Not all GS are the same. The one in Beaconsfield is outstanding. Please drive the extra distance you will be amazed."
"We finally made it to Giggling Squid for a family meal. We asked for the separate veggie/vegan menu, and the vegan dishes are labelled, and there're lots of them! We had the vegetarian sharing platter to start-I was particularly impressed with the corn fritters and oyster mushroom tempura, but it was all lovely. For my main, I had the exotic mushroom Gra Pao, with brown rice (you select your rice or noodles separately). It was nice, but I didn't really notice any mushrooms in it! I also had a little try of the Massaman curry, which again was delicious. They advised to order a portion of rice per person, but we felt that half each, or around 3 between the 5 of us might have suffice-it depends how much you each/how many courses, etc! Sadly, there are currently no vegan desserts, but we were full from our starter and mains. The prices are slightly higher than other similar places, but the food was lovely, and the service we received was great, with helpful staff."

"We booked a table a week in advance for a special family birthday on New Year’s Day at 6.30pm. We arrived on time. There was no table specifically reserved despite us requesting a nice table for the birthday meal. The service was awful. We waited half an hour to order drinks and food. We waited an hour for our starters. Some of the drinks we ordered didn’t arrive. The food was good but the poor service spoiled what was meant to be a special occasion. Despite us having booked a table, other diners who arrived after us ordered and received their food long before us. The manager said they were short staffed but they were accepting bookings and people without bookings in spite of this. Really disappointing."

"We could smell the food from round the corner. Food is so well cooked and flavoured. Can't find a single fault with the food. Service was excellent. We were served by Edward, who made our cocktails and took or order. Such a gent. Gemma brought the food and she had the foresight to change our table before squeezing the food on a small table. Will definitely recommend this place. Vegetarian options: Thai green/red curry and much more. Service: Dine in"
