"Last weekend, I visited this restaurant with my family and I cannot express enough how impressed I was with the restaurant and the staff. The waiters were friendly and accommodating throughout our visit. As someone with severe allergies, I was grateful for the care they took in adapting my dish from the menu to ensure it was safe for me to eat. They also went above and beyond in providing excellent service to the child in our group. If I lived closer, I would definitely make this restaurant a regular dining spot."

"I had a wonderful time sitting in the sun. I ordered the king prawn spaghetti, but my wife added her burrata from her salad to my dish, which was a delightful touch. I also want to give a huge shout-out to Alexandria, our waitress. When the manager unexpectedly walked out, Alexandria continued to handle everything with remarkable professionalism on her own. She truly deserves a raise or at least a bonus—listen up, management!"

"We were fortunate to find a couple of available tables at this popular café in the dales during peak lunchtime on holiday. We ordered the delicious falafel wraps and a sourdough hummus open sandwich with red cabbage and olives for my son. He absolutely loved the red cabbage, and the sandwich transformed what could have been a typical lunch into a hearty meal for him, thanks to its generous size and appealing presentation. The side salad was nicely arranged and included some seeds, but it felt a bit unnecessary since my wraps came with a similar salad garnish. We didn't try the one vegan cake because it seemed quite pricey. I think we ended up ordering more than we actually needed (his smoothie and the salad), and each item was on the expensive side. Next time, I might explore the other two nearby places, as we frequent the Retreat quite a bit. It’s usually better in Grassington during the winter on weekdays."

"Every time I visit, I always order the Razor clams at Saltwater Fish Company. However, this time, I was disappointed to find that the clams were not properly cleaned as I could taste grit and sand. Additionally, they were overcooked, resulting in a rubbery texture that ruined the overall taste. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Saltwater Fish Company this time."

"had a great night stay here. the rooms have everything they need and love the fact that, although they do not do the breakfast, they receive fresh milk and müsli provided in their room. they are the little things that make a big difference! all staff were friendly and helpful. we also had a meal that was delicious. "We had a table booked for a lunchtime meal to celebrate our Wedding anniversary with our 2 children and we weren't disappointed. We were able to choose our own table and our drinks order was taken immediately. We also ordered 2 starters to share which were the Teriyaki Beef Vegetable Spring Roll and the Wild Mushroom Tortellini. Oh my days both dishes were absolutely delicious and we highly recommend.. For our mains we ordered two 10oz Rump Steaks, the Chicken Schnitzel with a Tomato Mascapone Sauce and the 10oz Rump Steak with half a rack of BBQ Ribs.. For dessert, the Rocky Road Cheesecake was ordered and all meals were ample and delicious. All meals were filling, delicious and were delivered in the appropriate time frame. We were so happy with the service and will definitely go back and try some of the other menu options."

After completing the West Highland Way and arriving at Glen Nevis, we were drenched and it was already late. "Twelve was recommend to me by a number of local vegans for somewhere to eat rather than the hotel I was staying in. This is probably not only the best vegan restaurant I’ve eaten in, but probably in the top handful of restaurants I’ve ever used over the past 30 years. The ethos and care that has clearly gone into the menu is evident and the place has a nice laid back, refined feel. The menu choices is great with something for everyone with reasonable sized portions. The fact that nearly everything is home made and not bought in processed food is clear this is a really good restaurant. Full marks to the staff at Twelve for an innovative restaurant that’s serves damn good food."

"The absolute best place in Haverfordwest!! My partner and I were treated to three courses and a few cocktails. Espresso martinis and dark and stormies.. delish! Goat cheese salad starter was amazing!! The salad was full of goodies from radishes to pomegranate seeds and everything in between. My partner had the smoked duck salad equally as good! We had pan fried fresh sea bass cooked to perfection in a lemon and herb butter, we also had fillet steak with peppercorn sauce (and we ordered port and Stilton sauce as a sneaky dip for the chips) Steak couldn’t have been cooked any better and the sauces were divine! The coolest decor and the best staff they all sang along with the Birthday song for my partner too winners Thank you George’s!!"

"we had a nice meal on Friday evening in the vault. "Friendly atmosphere, fast service for drinks and food. You cannot book a table for so it's arrive and pot luck which is a little bit of a nuisance when there's a larger group. Prices are a little higher than average for both food and drink. Had they had bookable tables I would have given 5/5, however I understand why they have this model. Food portions are good and is good quality for pub grub. We visited several times over a long weekend and didn't experience any problems. Good location with indoor and outdoor seating. Will certainly re-visit when next in the area."

"We went here for lunch and we sat in bar there was a small additional restaurant area but we were happy in bar. A nice selection of beers ,food was ordered from a blackboard menu,my wife had the Thai red curry my wife said it was very hot which was perfect for her ,I had the Venison and red wine stew the meat was very tender ,we both agreed both meals were very tasty and as good as we’ve had anywhere. My only small criticism was that when my wife finished her food she pushed the plate to one-side at which the barmaid ask to take it away while I was still eating and was asking me while I had a mouthful of food if we wanted desserts Would we go back YES."

"I ordered the lobster and crab ravioli, sounded amazing, around £18, and I was very hungry and I am currently pregnant. When it turned up to the table, myself and my friend were visibly shocked there were only 10 small ravioli parcels in the bottom of the the bowl plate they serve it in. I mentioned to staff and they acted like I was being weird, asked if it was the right pasta and when I said yes, walked away. I wasn’t sure what else could be said so left it at that. I finished my meal and left still very hungry. I’m a slow eater so as my friends plate was barely touched I sat waiting for her to finish her meal. Off to get a tesco meal Deal now, as I refuse to spend another 20 on another meal. I am very disappointed, that was basically a starter, it needed more than double that on the plate for it to qualify as a small meal, that was absolutely tiny. The added cheese appears to have bulked it out a lot but don’t be fooled."

"Awful experience that my family and I went through at the The Artichoke pub in Chartham that resulted in plates being physically snatched (from behind our backs) out of the hands of a mother who was breast feeding at the time all whilst a four year old was watching!!! The actions of the staff were absolutely disgraceful, despicable and rude. Initially everything was fine and we were greeted warmly and were made comfortable with our seating. The atmosphere was warm and friendly which makes it all the more surprising how events unfolded. The issue started when our main course was brought to the table. It was my daughter who noticed that her dinner was incredibly cold (we all had variations of the roast) and after checking I felt that all 4 meals were cold. Some elements had some warmth but most were cold to the point it would have been unpleasant to eat. The gravy was lukewarm on one side but cold on another plus the plates were cold, potatoes hard and meats very dry. My issue isn’t one with the food rather how it was dealt with by the staff as I would expect that the standard process would be for a customer to inform a member of the team and for a replacement to be offered with an apology. We had waited a while for the food (we were told that it was being plated up long before it arrived which is why I think it was cold) but when I let Chelsea know that it was cold it took an awfully long time for another member of staff to attend to “deal with it,” whilst she playfully chatted with another table. Given that we have young children who need to get to bed we did need to get on. A lady, Holly Millin I think, eventually came over and was extremely curt and sharp which felt very much out of place as no complaint had been made. She did offer to replace or to cancel the meal with no charge. We accepted the former as the latter would have meant that our daughter would have gone without dinner when we needed to get her home ready for school but it made us feel very undervalued to the point that we were being inconvenient. I did ask the lady that I was surprised that food could be brought out without checking and she said that food is probed and that plates are hot enough to burn your skin. This didn’t help offer an explanation as to why ours were cold but I didn’t press any further. After the replacement meals were brought out Chelsea asked if everything was okay and I said that the food was indeed warm but I was surprised that we weren’t offered an apology because the state of the initial meals was entirely unacceptable – I was simply shocked by her brazen reply of “I am sorry that you feel that way” which we took to be very condescending and sarcastic. After this interaction I looked at my wife with incredulity and perhaps let out a nervous laugh. Chelsea must have overheard my reaction to her sarcasm and reported to her manager that we laughed at her (which we hadn’t). At which point the manager came over and without warning snatched our plates whilst stating that we had laughed at Chelsea which we hadn’t. My wife was breast feeding at that time that Holly leant over her to snatch her barely started dinner. Holly then proceeded to physically grab the plate away from my mother-in-law who had no idea the lady was behind her – she had her cutlery in her hands and was chewing! My mother-in-law also does not speak English and had no idea what was happening. How can reporting a cold meal be escalated to this level? From initially nice service to plate snatching. This certainly is not normal behaviour for any human. We still cannot believe what happened. Today my daughter is still upset as she witnessed an altercation by a lady she did not know and my wife is shocked that a person could be physically aggressive whilst she was breast feeding a baby – anything could have happened if the plate would have hit his head. Be warned something is not right with these people..."

"Our first time visiting The horseshoe, celebrating our wedding anniversary! And it was the best meal we have had eating out in a long while, Sirloin steak was cooked just how I asked it to be delicious served with mixed fresh vegetables including a couple of new potatoes a bowl of chips, tomato two mushrooms peppercorn sauce! Wow so much food presented good and totally worth the price, desserts again Wow large portions of sticky toffee pudding with custard warm chocolate fudge cake with cream! Yummy delicious. Waitresses were very nice and friendly and food was served with not having to wait ages. We will definitely be back soon. Sunday lunch next time."

"We arrived for our 6:30 reservation and waited at the door for 10 minutes before being acknowledged. Our table was not ready and we were finally seated just before 7. Another 15 minutes passed before our drinks order was taken. The food being served to other tables looked delicious, but the service we experienced was very poor. We decided to leave and were thanked on our way out as if we had just finished our meal. Overall, we were disappointed with the experience. We ended up having a pleasant meal at Santinos by the seafront instead."

"I took my mother to the Two Sisters restaurant for her birthday last Sunday. We were immediately greeted and informed about the brunch options (i.e. buffet versus brunch specials and other adjustments, such as turkey bacon instead of pork). I think this is a great place for a relaxed brunch and definitely for a mother-daughter date. We loved the food and the service. We drove to a Groupon and will definitely drive again without the Groupon. Worth it."
