"Some of you know that I spent a significant part of my childhood in Tokyo and would move back there in a heartbeat. I get quite nostalgic about my time in Japan, the country, the people and of course the wonderful, varied cuisine that I can’t get enough of I was invited to dine at Chisou Knightsbridge a few days ago and chose the always willing Mr. A to join me for the review.chisouinterior Chisou is an Izakaya style restaurant located on the well-known Beauchamp Place in Knightsbridge. An izakaya refers to a casual Japanese drinking establishment serving food. Chisou has an intimate sake/cocktail bar upstairs (open on weekends) and a cosy dining area on the main floor Chisou means...read more"

"I just want to say that I'll be back here. came for a afternoon dinner and the food quality was amazing. the menu has many options and I decided to try to merge the huh with omelette with a rice floor. that was so soft, melted in my mouth. the same can be said for the salmon, I was in various restaurants that serve lachs in pieces or on a floor of rice, I can say that this place was the best I had in terms of taste and texture. the restaurant itself had a very warm and cozy environment with very cool tables. the staff is attentive during the meal to ensure that they take care of themselves. the only thing I would say was that it was a tad on the expensive side. However, I have always said whether the quality corresponds to the price, then this can be overlooked. would definitely recommend this place to others, but note that the huh is only half here."

"An enjoyable meal. We were looking for a place to have dinner after wandering about One New Change at St Pauls and found the restaurant when searching on the mobile. There's a sushi bar at ground level and the restaurant was in the basement. There was a lot on the menu and after spending a considerable time deciding, we ordered a soft shell crab maki (crispy and generous), sea urchin (wasn't crunchy), grilled eel, a herbally chicken, beef and quail egg broth (warmingly nice on a cold rainy evening), a refreshing sea weed salad (can't recall the name) and mochi for dessert. We were pleasantly surprised as we didn't expect to enjoy the food very much. It was fresh and tasty and we were very full afterwards. A slight niggle was that the broth could do with less salt and the dessert selection could be much improved as the mochi was not made there (bought probably) and tasted a bit bland. Service was ok as there was only one waiter serving and it was quite hard to get his attention sometimes. I would recommend it and will definitely make an attempt to return again. Bill came to about £25-30 per person. (8.5/10)"

"We have visited by chance as my husband fancied a Ramen! It's a lovely small restaurant in the centre of Banbury. Food and presentation are excellent There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from I have a gluten and diary allergy and the restaurant Manager provides advice on dishes and ensured my food was safe to eat. I have had a stir fry and it was delicious Great value and experience in overall."

"Once seated, we placed our order promptly as we were quite hungry. Unfortunately, we waited for over an hour for our food to arrive, all the while having to repeatedly request water which was often ignored. We had a young child with us who is sensitive to black pepper, and we specifically asked for the dish to be prepared without it. However, our request was disregarded, and when the dish was served to the child, she had a terrible reaction. When we brought this issue to the server's attention, there was a lack of apology and accommodation. To make matters worse, a service charge was added to the bill without our consent. When we asked for it to be removed, the staff did so without inquiring about our concerns. Overall, our experience at this restaurant was simply dreadful."

"There is a strong online presence of a lunch menu for Kisaku. After confirming what my wife would like me to pick up, I was told upon arrival that there was no lunch menu. There was a similar dish for $12.50 instead of $7.50 on the regular menu. I felt completely disappointed to have traveled there to be offered a 65% price increase. The owner did not apologize. I went elsewhere and will never return. The place was completely empty at 1 pm, and I am not surprised. By the way, Kiasu is a Hokkien word that denotes a selfish and greedy attitude that arises from fear of missing out. I think the restaurant should change its name."

"Tucked away in a basement on Strutton Ground, this tiny little establishment appears to be pretty authentic. Despite it being a random weekday evening, it fills up very quickly and by the time we’re heading up to leave, it’s pretty much full. We arrive a variety of elements to share and everything arrives promptly. The soft shell crab tempura is lightly battered, hot and fresh, but it does lack a certain wow factor. However, the selections of the different types of Sashimi we’ve gone for are all fresh and light and very clearly of the highest quality so we find ourselves ordering a few more of these to keep us going. The chicken gyoza is better than most other dumpligns I’ve tried, served warm with a very comforting and nourishing filling, they bulk out what is otherwise quite a light meal. Service is a little slow, with the size of the place, there’s only one girl busily running around trying to get to everyone, but the food is absolutely top notch. Worth going with a few more people and ordering up a larger selection!"

"When I was invited to review Murakami I spent some time trying to work out why I thought I’d been there before. That sense of deja vu came not from a restaurant but from a series of books which I have sitting on my shelf including ‘The Wind Up Bird Chronicle’ and ‘Kafka on the Shore’. In fact, the restaurant is intended to be an Izakaya, a kind of Japanese gastro-pub where you can eat and drink in a relatively informal setting. And, in the heart of London, at the top of St Martin’s Lane, that is no bad thing."

"We were fortunate to snag the final two seats at the counter when we arrived just five minutes after the restaurant opened on a Saturday evening. We witnessed a number of people being turned away due to lack of reservations. The food was excellent, with a diverse menu offering options such as sushi, tempura, gyoza, and grilled skewers. Everything tasted very fresh, and we enjoyed watching the skewers being prepared right in front of us at the counter. It was our first time dining here, but we are already looking forward to coming back soon. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit."

"The experience was mediocre. Unfortunately, we were isolated from the rest of the table. We were seated in an awkward spot between two groups, leading to us feeling excluded. The chefs focused their attention on the other diners first before cooking for us. The food was decent, but it was clear that some chefs were more enthusiastic than others. It was unusual to be asked to move to another table for the final course. Overall, we left feeling quite disappointed."
"Went there on New Year’s Day, was quite busy we were sitting quite close to the door so it’s very windy when there are people opening the door. For the location I would give this a 5star for the service I would give it a 3 as other than taking orders , serving the food when it came and paying for the bill i didn’t have a chance to speak to anyone. For the price and quality of food I would give that 3 star I saw comments saying it’s too expensive, come on it’s London it’s soho and things has gone up so much given all the situations they have bills to pay too. Wouldn’t say it’s expensive. the quality of food was ok. One down side I had to mention is the sashimi came after we have finished all the hot food . Noodles and rice were just not close to warm. I just didn’t have a warm stomach when we left."

"Hard to find a good-yet-priced-reasonably Japanese restaurant in Mayfair! Miyama is a good solution. We dined there and had the 42 GBP tasting menu (yes not 75 GBP). Most guests at other tables were Japanese (or Asian). Sushi and sashimi were good, black cod was decent. My scallops were slightly over peppered. Overall the restaurant interior is not the nicest (very white). Staff is nice and very attentive. Will come back!"

"I visited twice this year to close it, which was very sad, as the guy there is great and the food he prepares is highest quality. a couple of counters and a small table explains why he is so busy with take-away food. try the spicy thun-fish dragon of only the freshly made sushimi (spelling, which is rugged in the ground, from raw fresh thun-fish so many places have only salmon or garnel. if they like me, they will travel miles to go there and it is a few hundred meters away, the good but pricier tomoe Japanese restaurant"

"The location is excellent, and as a group of vegetarians, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The vegetable ramen and miso aubergine were particularly delicious. However, the restaurant was quite cold due to a significant drop in temperature, and they had to rely on portable heaters. I would love to visit again during a warmer month to fully appreciate the experience. The staff were attentive and polite, and overall, it provided great value for money."

"Superb food, great location, what a show Japanese food and Teppanyaki has always been a treat for me, when my daughter reported that her fellow students had discovered this restaurant in a lovely part of Manchester, I was hooked! I was not disappointed. The restaurant it in Castleford, the heart of old industrial Manchester, and a wonderful place to look around and work up an appetite! The restaurant is well laid out and staff welcoming, booking ahead is recomended. The food is stunning and the show by the chefs entertaining. We had sushi, sashimi and Teppanyaki sets as well. All uniformly excellent. Highly recommended"

"I've visited nippon a lot over the last six years, maybe more than any other Japanese eatery and it sasdsens me to have seen its decline. Staff are no longer warm and friendly, the vegs options are no longer fresh or filling and the portions have seemingly become smaller. Maybe the love has gone and someone behind the scenes has taken their hands of the wheel but I used to recommend Nippon Kitchen a lot. Sadly I never seem to feel the need these days. A seperate vegan menu IS great though and they can't be faulted for being one of the first Japanese eateries in Glasgow to embrace the potential vegan audience and maybe that reputation will carry them for a while but unless they shake up their standards I fear that Nippon Kitchen's sun will truly set some day ."

" seated at your table, the chef comes out and begins cooking right in front of you on a hot grill. The food was not only delicious but also a show in itself. We were entertained by the chef's impressive knife skills and flair as he cooked our meals. The atmosphere was lively and fun, perfect for a special occasion like a hen party. Overall, we had an amazing time at Sapporo Teppanyaki Liverpool and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique dining experience."
