"We have visited by chance as my husband fancied a Ramen! It's a lovely small restaurant in the centre of Banbury. Food and presentation are excellent There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from I have a gluten and diary allergy and the restaurant Manager provides advice on dishes and ensured my food was safe to eat. I have had a stir fry and it was delicious Great value and experience in overall."

This vegan katsu curry is one of the best I've ever had. The other items I tried were also delicious. The service is always friendly.

We ordered about 42 pounds worth of vegan and veggie sushi. It was lovely! Pretty expensive so not an every week option but otherwise great.

I used to frequent this restaurant often before I became vegetarian, and I always enjoyed their vegan rolls. I am happy to see that they have expanded their menu over the years to offer even more options now.

If you really want to get the best out of Japanese food this is the place. Great service and the tea is just right. You can also get a lunch box at the restaurant (what I had) and it was amazing. It also fills you up just right...

Unfortunately only in Banbury for one night on 1st June to celebrate my birthday. We are big fans of Japanese food and wanted something light but tasty to eat on a very hot evening. We stumbled upon this unassuming restaurant on a side street from...

Really enjoyed the food. Service was quick and speedy, although lacking personality. I gave a tip and didn 't get a thank you , which I just thought was odd, and slightly rude. But that aside, the food was great, as always, well presented, fresh-tasting. I really...

This charming restaurant is independent, so you won't be supporting chain establishments. The customer service is excellent. If you're looking for Vegetarian options that can be made Vegan, just ask the staff - they are very accommodating. Make sure to try the Pumpkin Katsu Curry, it's a must-have dish that won't disappoint.

We ate from the Lunch menu had a bento box each which came with a tofu/vegetable noodle dish, several sushi rolls, a couple of tofu pockets, and miso soup The menu shows the dishes as vegetarian, but most are vegan , so do check with the super helpful waiting staff . Service was quick, The green tea has free refills Updated from previous review on 2022-07-21

"I’m frustrated and annoyed with booking a romantic meal for our year wedding anniversary, with the current pandemic and work commitments it made a change to make an effort and be excited to visit the boxing hare as the reviews had been excellent. We...were seated in the garden room, next to a family who were on first name terms with the waiting staff and who were so loud I thought I was at a Chelsea match! We received complimentary glasses of champagne and we placed our order for starters and main which were excellent however I felt rushed with the service, as much as I tried to have a conversation all I could hear was this family at decibels to which enough was enough usually I would say something, however rather than ruin there evening I asked for us to be reseated to which the waiting staff were in agreement that they were loud! So why place us next to them? We were given a table in a different part of the pub still busy with other diners giving respect to one another. The table given I was advised I had as it was reserved? I placed dessert order and two lattes with baileys followed by the bill! The bill was a tad on the steep side for a gastro pub perhaps the prices are based on the price of fuel to fill the owners Bentley Overall felt it was a rushed evening disappointed with the seating arrangements,I won’t be returning as I felt what was important to us wasn’t important to the Boxing Hare I’ve had better evenings at The Falkland Arms Great Tew, The Great Western Aynho"
