"Just wanted to write this review so that others may consider alternative venue when they are faced with the choice at a very difficult and sad time. This hotel gets plenty of business from nearby funeral directors I assume because of is location but they are uncompassionate, unprofessional and unconcerned about your experience. When we arrived after leaving the funeral directors to book the reception I stood waiting for a period of time to be attended to. Eventually an employee on his break went through and got a staff member. She had me stand at the reception, recite details showing no empathy for our situation, when booking my father in laws at the Seamill Hydro we were sat away from the reception and treated in a caring way. When we arrived at the time booked after the funeral we stood at the reception for a period of time before being shown through. No offer of condolences offered. As for the drinks on arrival, we waited a good 10 minutes before any orders taken missing out 4 guests. Eventually food came out slowly. We were given one coffee/tea and the staff left. We tried to find staff to see if we could have more coffee and order more drinks but staff found not be found. I had over estimated the number of people who attended but even though we paid for food for more people my guests were not offered anymore sandwiches, sausage rolls etc. When settling the bill I was of course charged for the food/drinks that never appeared and was not asked if everything was ok. A basic courtesies in the hospitality business. Please consider alternatives before booking here, it is easy money for them and they do not care n anyway about the customer. I contacted the Lynnhurst Hotel 3 days ago and unsurprisingly they have not responded."

"Firstly, I am somewhat amazed at the reviews theis venue has based on our visit on Saturday evening. We arrived 45 minutes early for our table for 4 persons at 7.30pm as I had called ahead at lunchtime asking if they had a bar area that we could sit and select from the menu in advance of being seated in the restaurant. I was given the impression that they had a lavish area for this purpose. However, this was not the case and we were shown to our table on arrival which was probably the worst location in the restaurant that was sparse of diners at that time. I will elaborate on our table location as it made for a negative night. It was a circular table placed in a “gap” between the original restaurant area and what appeared to be an extension to the restaurant. This gap did have curtains that could have been closed which would have curtailed guests and staff squeezing between the wall and one of our chairs but when asked the Owner said he would not close them……. In fairness, “Theo” the Owner did offer the choice another two alternative tables but both were in no better location! We sat and ordered drinks and were provided with menus. The drinks arrived in a timely fashion and were made fine. I also ordered some wine which was decanted and allowed time to breath before being served. The wine was an Amorone but the year did not warrant the price he was charging but nonetheless was quite good. We placed our food order and in doing so I asked if chef would add a simple fried egg to top the steak I had ordered. I was told by Theo that he was down a number of staff on the evening shift and could not provide the egg. How many people would we have needed to fry an egg???? To be honest the whole experience was not worth almost £500.00 even though the food fine. We also found it disturbing the way Theo tried to control the waiting staff this may have been because they were young or new to the role but we felt that the staff did a good job and didn’t need micro managing! I am always curious when a front of house individual, who gives the impression he is in total control, loses the plot mid service. I did tell Theo I would give a poor review and he pretty much dismissed me so I dug a little deeper and it would appear the restaurant has suffered financial issues in the very recent past…….. this information is in the public domaine through Google. All in all we were so disappointed with a venue that appears to have a wealth of happy diners from their reviews……. It’s NOT that good Guys!!!"

"Firstly, after ordering our drinks, my husband 's drink took 5 10 mins longer to come for some reason than mine and the kids '. Then when my mother arrived to complete our table and ordered a gin and tonic, she had been waiting about 10 mins for it when the waitress returned and then asked what mixer she wanted. Might have been an idea to ask that when taking the order. My mum asked her to put ice in a separate glass and not in with her gin. About another 10 mins later she got her g t filled to bursting point with ice! We then waited another 5 10 mins but no one came to take our food order. The kids were very hungry so we thought we 'd ask them to come and take the order rather than wait any longer. We placed our order, I ordered a steak with no sauce, hubby ordered a burger, and we had ordered a starter. The starter arrived along with the kids meal which was fine, only about a 20 min wait. But, when the main meals arrived, my steak was cold/warm and very thin (more like a minute steak than a rump). She also gave me sauce. My mother got her meal, but my hubby 's burger didn 't appear. About 10 15 mins later, whilst my mother and I were half way through our meals and the kids had finished, he asked the waitress where his burger was she said she would go and check. Came back 2 mins later and said it would only be 5 mins , with no further explanation as to why it hadn 't arrived. 10 mins later, I had decided to leave my steak and just eat the chips and veg, and my mum had finished her meal, my hubby decided to go and tell them to wrap his meal to take home as was past kids bed time so couldn 't really sit another 20 30 mins whilst he finished his dinner (assuming it was to ever arrive). Another 10 mins passed and the wrapped 'to go ' burger didn 't arrive so we decided just to tell them to forget it but then the manageress gave it to us and apologised, deducting it from the bill. This was fair enough, however didn 't really make up for the experience."

"Ingram Wynd is a stunning restaurant in the Merchant City in Glasgow. Decorated with huge ornate mirrors and beautiful artwork, this establishment caters for people looking for Scottish food with a fine dining twist. There is an extensive wine list and drinks list avaliable in Ingram Wynd. They also do a mixture of cocktails ranging from 5-8 pounds, standard mixology such as Cosmopolitans and Manhattans. We plumped for a lovely bottle of the Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile which was reasonable at 18 pounds considering it was ****** marvellous! We dined A La Carte last night and were treated to a lovely Ham Hock Terrine and a Parmesan Soup for our starters. The terrine was scrumptious and more-ish while there was not a drop of soup left which was perfectly accompanied by flash fried sprigs of cauliflour. For our mains we had the Honeyroasted Duckling with Toulouse Sauseages and the Glazed Ox Cheek with Truffled Potato Puree and Wilted Spinach. The duck was devine and accompanied the thick, sauseage slices wonderfully, but the ox cheek was by far the best dish of the night; falling apart like butter it satisfied the eyes and the belly! For desert we had a Dark Chocolate Hazelnut And Rum Parfait with Vanilla Ice Cream and a Rice Pudding Panacotta with with Roasted Fruits and Caramel Ice Cream. Both of which were beautifully prepared and tasted like a heart attack but completely worth it! A cracking wee find in the Merchant City and good if you're heading out for a special occasion of else you just have some money to burn. 3 course meal with a bottle of wine and two after dinner drinks came to 75 pounds, but worth every penny and tip."
