"Booked for New Year's Eve. £69.99 per head. Service adequate but I have to say the food was not good. Pre prepared and not fresh. The amuse bouche was a piece of French bread with smoke salmon, more like a badly done canape. The Starters were accompanied by limp salad, the plates they were served on very cold evidencing they had just been sitting uncovered in a fridge. Very odd rock hard goat's cheese, and for others, 3 tiny pieces of dry sardine. As for the main, beef wellington, the fillet of beef overcooked and resembled a piece of shoe leather, I doubted it was even fillet. The pastry was raw on the inside and undercooked, and soggy on the outside. Think had been pre cooked and microwaved. Worst beef wellington I have ever seen. We all sent back and chef offered rack of lamb.Sadly this was presented raw, not rare, with huge chunks of broccoli, soggy roast potatoes and carrots. Those who ate fish said was adequate, but the spinach and ricotta filo main had by one was also raw and underdone. As for the apple tart, again some received ice cold from the fridge, others luke warm although the flavour was good. Actually spoilt New Year's Eve and we left hungry. What was even more annoying is that I believe we were not charged for 2 bottles of wine, but were expected to pay for the nasty food. I would rather have paid for the £60 wine. I will be contacting the restaurant owner for a full refund, minus the wine. I can't believe we were actually charged £75 a head for the meal, pretty disgraceful in my opinion. We actually doubted whether there was a chef in the kitchen......"

"We have been to this Pizza Express many times and have had good and bad experiences. I cannot honestly say that it has ever been great but it is more convenient than Watford and St Albans. Our latest experience was not good. Our teenage daughter order a milk. When it arrived she said that it tasted funny, kind of sweet, warm and was yellow in colour.... there was also something black (like a piece of black pepper) floating in it that she took out. My husband tried it and said that it was off. I asked if he was sure as it could be condensed milk, so he told me to try it. It tasted warm and weird. It was certainly not fresh nor been kept in the fridge. We told the waiter (who could also be the manager). He said that he was sorry and walked off trying it and then came back with the bottle putting the bottle in our faces to show us that it was not out of date. We started to feel really uncomfortable. We did not expect to have to defend our daughter saying that the milk she was given tasted funny and did not want another one. The waiter started to act unprofessional and made us feel that we never want to go there again. We had not said that it was out of date, we'd said that it was off. We explained that this can happen when milk is left out and the milk was not cold! Then he took the bottle of milk back and left it on the counter with a brand new bottle of milk. I could see the bottles on the counter for over 20 minutes. We felt that this was poorly dealt with. Service was pretty poor as it often is since they started using online delivery companies. It appears that deliveries take priority. At the end of the meal we decided to have tea while we waited for our daughters to eat their ice creams. We'd forgotten about the milk incident earlier as the service was taking too long and assumed that the bottle of milk would have been disposed off. To my surprise they poured the gone off milk into jugs for our tea. There was only an inch and a half at the very most of milk left in the large bottle... why did they not throw it out?? Again we had to call someone over regarding the one off milk. The waitress brought out the new bottle and poured out more milk for our tea. Meanwhile our daughters ordered their ice creams. The ice creams turned up with the warmed frothy milk and my eldest tried it and said that it tasted like the milk from earlier. We told her not to drink it. We felt that they'd given the gone off milk to them on purpose to trick them into drinking it, then after they'd drunk it say that it must have been OK as they'd drunk it. Our youngest drank all of hers. Just before our youngest went to bed she had an upset tummy that was still playing up the following day. Was it the milk? She had not had anything else at home that could have caused it. We will not be returning to this restaurant for a variety of reasons. Even when this restaurant does not have a lot of customers it is really noisy and incredibly hard to talk to each other and the service is really slow. You literally sit down and they will ask if you are ready to order, knowing that you will not be and then do not return for at least 10 15 minutes and then you are trying to get their attention. The food takes ages to arrive that has often been sitting in the kitchen waiting to be brought over. There appear to be enough staff but they just stand around in the kitchen waiting for food, rather than clearing tables and asking if everything is OK or if you need another drink, etc. If you order water for the table you might need to ask several times."

"For Spanish speakers (my usual audience): I came with a friend and we both ordered the Shawarma Mix w Fries. First of all, clarify that this is my opinion and for others it may be different. As always I will divide this review into three parts which are Local, Service and Food. Starting with the place, it is a cozy place, the music is very pleasant to the ear, colorful decoration and a good display of the food at the counter. It must be said that the bathroom was, like every classic Kebab place, dirty like the Barcelona metro. Moving on to service, there was a very friendly and helpful waitress and one of the cooks was very attentive. On the other hand, the boy who served us when we ordered the food was quite hesitant and even seemed a bit dismissive to me. I gave it 3 stars because the others were friendly and I don't want the place to be belittled because of one person. Lastly, the food was good. I don't fully understand why they advertise Shawarma as with kebab meat, but hey, I'm not going to ask them for a master's degree because after all we are in London. The meat was still good although it lacked flavor. The salad was probably the best, you could tell it was fresh and well cut. The bread, on the other hand, was lightly toasted and this was noticeable since in the end it fell apart easily. This is painful for Durum and Shawarma lovers. The potatoes were from a bag but at least they had a good level of crunchiness and the yogurt sauce maintains a touch of mint that is pleasant at first but that I hated in the end. Despite that, I have to say that the size of the medium shawarma is enough, the large one is not necessary (coming from someone who eats a lot). In conclusion, the place is very expensive for what it is, although I understand it because at the end of the day we are in Camden, a tourist place where we are the victims. Thank you so much."
