"Fantastic experience! The menu clearly indicates gluten-free choices, and I enjoyed the currywurst with loaded fries plus a side of fried pickles. "Meat feast! Went there with a mate for his birthday, first visit for both of us. Had a quick pint at the Bar first, the cask ale from siren was great. Bit concerned that only one cask ale on, but loads of slightly pricier craft stuff. Once sat at our table we were told of a new to share dish colossus! Made up of 1/4 chickens, pork ribs, bed rib and pulled pork, great choice. Portions were huge and all of the meat flavoured and cooked to perfection. BBQ doesn't get much better than this. "We’ve visited WAX on numerous occasions for Darts, Escape Room and Axe Throwing and it’s always been a pleasant and fun time. However, we went on Saturday 27th for my son’s 15th birthday to play darts and the whole experience seemed a bit rushed and wasn’t as enjoyable. We were put on the first board as soon as you walk through the door but they were setting up for a birthday party on the tables next to us so we were unable to sit anywhere or put our coats, bags and drinks etc down. A couple of times we were told to move as part of our group kept using the chairs. We were all squashed into the corner with no tables or nowhere to sit which made it quite difficult with a group of 6 to play without getting in the way of each other. I hate to leave bad reviews but maybe this needs reevaluating in future so others don’t experience the same issue."

"Absolutely wonderful! From the service as soon as you walk in, to the staff, the food, it was just fantastic! Very helpful and efficient greeter who showed us to our table and noted the vegan note on the booking. He was able to advise what to order on the nut roast and what to swap out. All of the staff were highly attentive. The roast (I had the nut roast and my partner had the beef) was the best roast I’ve ever had! The quality of everything on the plate was incredible. Such a decent price as well for the quality you get. Thank you for such a lovely meal we cannot wait to come back when you start doing roasts again!"

"Booked a table for 12:15. Arrived and the place looked shut, both doors shut and front door locked. The chairs were still on the tables from the night before. Greeted (if you can call it that) by a rather unwelcoming member of staff, who looked like she’d rather be anywhere else and then proceeded to complete doing her make up in the back of the bar rather than giving us menus. The tables were filthy, the floors had not been swept from the night before and the couches covered in dog hair. It had a smell in the air of wet dog and chip fat and the bar area was dark, and uninviting. The whole time we were there they didn’t put any music on in the background which meant we could hear the cross words had between the staff (awkward to say the least). The waitress did warm up as time went on and was a little more friendly to the few diners that arrived after us. Considering we booked a table for the restaurant area that’s where we should have been seated. Food was average and not worth the price, as there was no music we could hear the microwave for the lasagne. I don’t normally write reviews however I feel the need as hopefully the establishment will reflect and improve for others, especially when the website etc make it look so appealing. People parting with their hard earned money during these times deserve better."

"Came here with my husband last week after great reviews on trip advisor. Not busy so service was good and quick. Haggis bon bons were delicious. Never tried them before. We both then had steak with garlic and rosemary cubes potatoes. Very nice. Would recommend and not too expensive. When back in Glasgow would return. Wine accompaniment was the nicest (white) and husband enjoyed the red."

"The vegan options at this restaurant are great. I have tried the mushrooms on toast for brunch and they also offer vegan mac, burgers, and jackfruit stew in the evenings, all of which are delicious. Although it's not on the menu, they have dairy-free milks (almond, oat, and soy) for hot drinks. I was pleasantly surprised to be offered vegan milkshakes, made with vegan milk and ice cream topped with vegan squirty cream. These were a lovely dessert option. I would recommend this place for both daytime and evening dining."

"The venue is very nice, good atmosphere. When I ordered I was told my food and drink would be brought over to me. After a while a waitress came over to ask if we wanted to order, I said we had already. So she went to check and the person who took the order had forgotten about our drinks, so she had to take our order again and bring the drinks over. She then asked if we'd ordered food and I said we had. My pulled pork burger arrived in a puddle of juices it must have been left to sit and expire for a while. The burger itself was not great. The chips however were very good. Although I had asked for vinegar which was not brought over, so I went to get it myself. My husband's fish and chips were OK, the tartar sauce being the highlight. He also got the baked Camembert to start which was not good either. Overall, I would not bother eating again here. The only reason we did (after I'd read the over so so reviews) was because we were doing the tour and had no other option but to eat there. The beer is fantastic, so I would return for that but as for food I'd go for the bags of crisps instead."

"Every time we go to 7Bone in Newbury, we are welcomed by friendly staff and receive excellent service throughout our visit. The food is consistently great, but our experience this evening was exceptional! The fries were perfectly crispy, the halloumi fries were delicious, and the beef burger (Prince Charles with two smashed patties) was the best I've ever had. "It seems to be a thing that the people of Norwich who love Zak’s have their own favourite one of the three. So, of the triumvirate, my heart is definitely with Zak’s Waterside. In spring and summer, I love sitting out by the river and watching the swans and paddle boarders go by, but even in the rain the conservatory has its own charm and shares the really special view of Cow Tower. The food is mostly burgers but with a lot of fun variations on that theme, and always generously portioned. I’m a vegetarian and the veggie versions always suit my taste and include the Moving Mountains option (although I can’t speak for the vegans). If you’re a meat eater, my friends swear by the ribs. I’m American and whilst I can’t offer a view on the authenticity of the place, I find the enthusiasm and love for all things American at all three Zak’s to be quite endearing. "Me and my family booked a tables months ago as we were going to the military Tattoo. Unfortunately, the booking was lost as they don’t do bookings during the festival. I completely understand that. However, rather than being helpful. The two staff members were rude, and not helpful. They could having said, a table will be 10 or 15 minutes. But instead they chose to make us feel unwelcome.
