"Sai Kei Restaurant, North Greenwich – In my experience, the better dim sum places in London are mostly Hong Kong style. Sai Kei restaurant is one of them. This Chinese restaurant was recommended by another fellow foodie Malaysian who works in See Woo at Greenwich. It took us a while to go to Sai Kei because our 'local ' dim sum restaurant, Yi Ban, was a family favourite and that was quite hard to beat. So, the style at Sai Kei is, you collect a ticket number upon arrival and wait. There are two queues for this; small groups for up to 4 people and big groups for 5 or more people. The queue for big groups generally moves faster. There were only 3 of us so joining the the small groups queue, we waited well over half an hour until we got a table. I am not complaining but every time a number was called we were longing hopefully that it would be us. When it did, it turned out to be a late lunch. Definitely hungry! Walking quickly with springs in our steps (I wonder if, in the eyes of others, we looked as though we were running) we did not waste any time to order. Chinese tea and congee first! Still it was out first time here so we had to spend a little more time to study the menu going through the list of steamed, fried, noodles, desserts, cheung funs, specialities and chef 's picks. I do initially judge dim sum places by the variety that the restaurant serves. Chicken feet, jellyfish, duck claws, chicken claws all sound pretty authentic but squid in satay sauce suggest that they felt a need to compromise. Still, as it is I find it pretty good and ticks on dim sum sheet done, the food came pretty quickly. preserved egg pork congee £5.10 – Steaming hot bowl of porridge to calm the hungry tummy first. The congee was good – consistency, thickness was so smooth that it was as though drinking a thick soup. It had chicken strips instead of pork, as described on menu, but otherwise delicious! After the ordering and had my first bowl of congee, I felt I could let the atmosphere soak in. Many locals, families, Cantonese speaking people. Ah...felt like Chinatown, with better service. More good news is that Sai Kei is opene for dim sum during week days too. So, hopefully there is not such a long wait! I am looking forward to trying out the Sai Kei a la carte menu after my dim sum experience. Parking is free if you dine in Sai Kei. Give your car registration number when you collect your ticket for the dim sum queue. But, don 't worry if you forget because there is a big bright sign. It 's quite impossible to miss. A unanimous vote for Sai Kei as our new family favourite restaurant. It is difficult to say if it could beat Yi Ban. I think we need an up-to-date visit soon to make the comparison."

"We really enjoyed our meal and time in Flesh Buns. Our waiter Abi or Adi, sorry, I forgot the name) was very friendly and nice. The food was nice too. We had the tasting menu. Great value for money. I love the cocktails I had. One was the Lucky Cat Cocktail amazing and funny presentation) and other was Zen Garden I think), one of the most beautiful cocktails I've ever had I love sweet cocktails). I just didn't really enjoy the vegetables with the nets because they were soaked in vinegar. Even if the dessert could be a bit bigger. The main complaint I would make is that food was brought very quickly so that the service felt a little rushed. We were only halfway our cold appetizers when we got the hot squid and chicken wings. I feel that it would be better to get the hot food when the table is ready with the cold food, so the hot would not get cold. I also mentioned at my booking that this dinner was for my birthday, but that was not mentioned or I did not get a birthday contract. I'm not really sure if this restaurant even makes something for birthdays, so that's okay, I think. Also the food we had was not presented and explained so that I read online what we eat. Another little advice would be to have a less table on the wall tables of 2) because it is a little tricky to sit down without disturbing the tables next to you. I really want to mention the hosts women with green jacket and short hair. She was very positive, attentive, energetic and nice what I think is extremely important because she was the first person we saw when we came in. Overall, I am very pleased with our experience and I think it was a great value for money."

"Excellent food but the evening was spoiled because instead of bringing the Carafe of White Vermentino that we ordered a very expensive £60 bottle was brought to us. The waiter insisted that this was what we had ordered even though the wine was not even white but orange. This bottle was eventually replaced by another £40 bottle of white Vermentino which we accepted. When the bill arrived we had been charged for both bottles with a discount on the first that we had sent back. After much wrangling and telephone conversation between the waiter and the manager we declined to pay for any part of the orange wine or the service charge I spoke with the manager the next day who didn't accept any responsibility for what had happened basically saying that the waiter's version of events differed and that she wasn't there so could not comment. She eventually conceded that the waiter's one fault was that he could be slightly inattentive and she admitted that the orange Vermentino should not have been listed under white wine. She also admitted that she had not authorised the charge made on the returned bottle. After asking me to repeat my version of events four times and saying she couldn't understand it she finally said that she was sorry we hadn't enjoyed the evening. We won't be returning and I would recommend anyone going there to check both the wine brought to them and their bill carefully"
