"My husband and son and I decided to stop here for lunch one Monday. We arrived just after 12pm. Sat down, had our drinks and food order taken and my little boy needed to use the toilet. My husband took him to the public toilets which to his utter disgust where completely blocked and disgustingly dirty. He then tried to take him to the restaurant toilets and they where pretty much the same! Could not use them. He alerted a member of staff and it wasn’t even acknowledged and I took him to the female restaurant toilets which where not as bad but had definitely not been cleaned. We again spoke to what was meant to be a young girl duty manager. Her response was oh the cleaners mustn’t have been in?? Seriously? Is there not checks done before opening? If environmental health had of shown up they would have been shut down. We only ate our food because we had already ordered. My husband decided to email to advise of the dirty standards and never got a response, hence now the review. Absolute disgrace. Standards have dropped massively."

"So disappointed had high hopes for this restaurant as it was quite hard to book a table. Not sure the staff wanted to be there on a Sunday afternoon as they just didn’t seem to want to serve you or talk to you. Had to ask to be served a drink. Hardly any atmosphere in such a nicely designed restaurant could be overcome with staff that really go that extra mile and deliver a fun, informative service but it was all a bit underwhelming. Food was hot and T bone steak cooked as requested. Ribs fell off the bone which meant that they were overcooked and ended up as a pile of mush on my plate, not to mention that they had not been trimmed properly with a great deal of fat remaining on the top. The chicken wings were also overcooked and again literally fell off the bone, the sauces were tasty though. Chips and slaw were edible. All in all a very disappointing dinner and won’t be back."

"Myself and my family have been to the pizza cafè on various occasions over the past 5 to 10 years. I remember going with my parents from a young age on a Saturday or Sunday as a treat and in my adulthood visiting a few times. Each time I’ve gone sadly the character and standards of the place have continued to decline. The food is average although the prices are still rising, and the service can be quite poor. The pizzas used to be a lot tastier (and bigger), it all seemed fresher, served with a smile and fairly quickly… however on my last visit after being seated me and my partner waited a good 15minutes to be asked which drinks we’d like to order in which case we had already decided what we wanted to eat and quickly ordered not knowing how much longer we’d have to wait for someone to come and take our order again. Then nearly 45mins to an hour later our food arrived! We almost walked out at one point. It wasn’t particularly busy this night either. We had slow service, the food was not worth the price, and we also seemed to be waiting a lot because of a seemingly new staff member not knowing what to do and keeping asking for advice or simply handing it over to someone else which unfortunately I think is what happened to us. I appreciate people have to learn but there should have been a better system in place for someone to help out rather than cause a disruption on a Friday night which could have been a lot busier and caused more delay. I would probably go here again but my expectations are tainted unfortunately."

"We recently had the best fish and chips we've had in a long time at this restaurant. The portions were generous and well worth the prices. This is now our top choice for fish and chips. The service is for takeout, and we had it for dinner. The cost is around £20-30 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a perfect 5 rating. Some recommended dishes are the large chips, cod, fish and chips, and curry sauce."

"Koocha, while hard to get a booking at, is 100% worth the effort! I would recommend the oyster wings above all else, I was considering ordering a second portion. We ordered two large plates and two mezze between two people, which filled us up plenty. We also got some cocktails which were lovely, and since we arrived early we got the two of the same for £15 deal. The staff are always lovely too, and while the place is small and intimate, it was never too loud for conversation. The only downside is that a lot of the menu is often unavailable, which is a shame, but everything we did order was delicious, and there was still plenty of choice. Edit: Since going back I have found the whole menu has been available so I think they have resolved any supply issues! Updated from previous review on 2023-08-28"

"Went during late lunch around 2.30pm and the place was still packed! Didn’t need to make reservations but would certainly recommend to book if going at normal meal times. The lunch menu was absolutely value for money. The mains were priced between £9-£13 for a sizeable portion. Didn’t manage to try the famous dishes like pan fried trout and venison, they were both sold out. Had the pan fried coley and steamed mussels instead, they were both great. The red pepper soup was ok too. The service was quick and efficient. We were seated very quickly and the staff helped to store our luggages in a room. Food arrived quite quick as well. The tables were placed quite close to each other though i would expect that only because its lunch crowd. For those hoping for the castle view seats, there were only 3 tables that allow as such, could try reserving. Nevertheless, the environment is still pretty great with high ceiling and was airy and tastefully decorated. Would definitely recommend for lunch as the price to value ratio is great. The dinner menu is almost double the pricing but it would still be worth it for the view."

"Along with Giraffe, this is probably the only chain worth visiting for food or drink in Cabot Circus. Having said that, it's not a massive chain, with only 3 other branches in the country. I'd been here a few times for drinks before I went all the way and came for a meal, and for either purpose Coal is an excellent restaurant/bar. The bar is situated to the right of the premises, with low comfy seats and sofas, and a full bar with well trained staff who will be more than happy to wow you with their cocktail shaking skills. They split the restaurant and bar area quite well, so they'll send you to the right part of the restaurant when you enter as a helpful member of staff will enquire what you want. You can either sit in the main seating area or outside, which can be quite nice on a summers day. The food is good; very hearty and meat focused. They've got a range of burgers, fajitas, pizzas and specialities, including schnitzel, lamb shank and other meat dishes. I went for a rump steak (the cheapest one the steaks go all the way up to £19.50 depending on size/quality) which was cooked to just the right degree and came with dauphinoise potatoes which were excellent. Well worth a visit and not too expensive for this area of town."

"**Dining Experience:** Lunch **Price per Person:** £40-50 **Recommended Dishes:** - 12oz Ribeye Steak - Chunky Chips - Beef Dripping Sauce - Onion Loaf - Lettuce Wedge with Blue Cheese Dressing - Chateaubriand Whether you're looking for a satisfying lunch or a special meal, this restaurant offers a delightful selection. The 12oz ribeye steak is a must-try, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Pair it with chunky chips and the rich beef dripping sauce for a truly indulgent experience. The onion loaf adds a nice touch of flavor and texture, while the lettuce wedge with blue cheese dressing provides a refreshing contrast. For those seeking something even more special, the Chateaubriand is highly recommended. Enjoy your visit!"

"My mother-in-law was over from the Isle of Man and is a vegan so we thought we would take her to her first vegan restaurant. We were a party of 5 and the rest of us are true meat eaters so we were all a little apprehensive. The staff were amazing and could not do enough for you and the owner at the start was really keen to take us on a journey of his food. I can honestly say the food is off this planet and the taste is amazing, I've never tasted anything like it in my life. The portions are large and you will never eat it all but you can take it home to enjoy it again the next day. I would defiantly swap a McDonalds burger for a vegan burger from VGN Boulevard. Then the experience goes downhill for all of us including my mother-in-law!! I can't do preaching and even my mother-in-law was angry with the way the owner started on about how back meat eaters are and the whole vegan rant. It was a disappointing end to what was an amazing meal. Not everyone likes to have the vegan preaching."

"One of the best rib eye steaks I have ever had. I had it medium and just melted in your mouth. Taste was first class and accompaniments of mushrooms, onion rings and double cooked chips were all cooked perfectly. It wasn’t that busy when we were there admittedly but the service was very attentive and food was cooked and served quickly. Will definitely be looking to go back again. Service: Dine in"

"We family of 4 , all adults and our dog) had a thoroughly enjoyable evening last night. I must admit I hesitated having read some of the reviews, but very glad I went ahead and booked. The place has a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and of course a fantastic location made all the better by a beautiful sunset. It wasn 't too busy which allowed us to have a table all to ourselves. 6 adults on a table would be comfortable but 8, depending on size, perhaps a squeeze. The food is cooked fresh to order, right in front of you, and the smells are fantastic. There was a good choice of menu all displayed clearly on large blackboards, seafood platter was off due to previous days weather preventing fishing), and everything was hot and flavoursome. Although this is a 'simple ' beach house, the food which is restaurant standard not 'pub grub ')and service is great, the prices reflect this. Perhaps in high season things may get more hectic but from our visit, no complaints. Great evening finished off with a beach walk."

"This lively and cheerful bistro is situated right on the Derry city wall. The menu clearly highlights gluten-free (GF) options, and the servers are knowledgeable and eager to help. While they don’t offer GF bread, the fries are gluten-free. Although there aren’t any GF beers or ciders available, their cocktail menu is extensive—highly recommend the Mulberry Tom Collins on a warm evening! There’s a wide variety of choices for our diverse group, ranging from delicious vegetarian curry to stir-fries and sirloin, along with a good selection of gluten-free sides."
"had the best burgers in town). The new Bar and Grill has a completely different vibe compared to Exeshed, but it's still a great place to grab a bite to eat. The food is delicious and the service is top-notch. I highly recommend trying their specialty burgers and signature cocktails. Overall, a fantastic dining experience."

"After reading all the 5 star reviews I was really looking forward to trying their food on my trip to Plymouth. Unfortunately due to staff shortage they were only doing takeaways but I was just glad they were open! I was a little disappointed with the food as it was pretty expensive for the portion size, and the chickn ended up being spicy despite it not saying this on the menu. Unfortunately I ended up eating a salad bun, but the bacun mac was great"

"After a few years we decided to try out miller and carter again. We had previously visited with family and had a less than ideal experience. Fortunately this is no longer the case and after being served by Antonio and then Kasey we had a fantastic shared butchers block. The sides and steaks were all fantastic and we felt the quality was outstanding. The service from Kasey was outstanding, she had a great attitude and personality. We even stretched to dessert which again was fantastic. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"A restaurant that features a dedicated Vegetarian menu with eight main courses definitely gets my stamp of approval. I’d been looking forward to trying Wolfes for some time, as I had heard great things about their Vegetarian options—and they certainly lived up to the hype. They offer an impressive selection, including burgers, salads, pasta, fajitas, jambalaya, and wraps, along with several vegetarian-friendly sides. With so many choices, I had a hard time deciding during my visit on Thursday, April 21, 2016. In the end, I opted for the Veggie Diner Burger, which is a large bean burger served in a bun with smoked applewood cheese, BBQ sauce, peppadew peppers, and shoestring onions. It was enormous, flavorful, and deliciously greasy in a good way—truly satisfying comfort food. At just £10.99, it also included a side, making it excellent value for money. I paired it with chunky chips and a garden salad, both of which were great. The decor has a classic American diner vibe, although I'm not a fan of the dinosaur murals aimed at kids; but I’m sure children would appreciate them. The staff was friendly, and the service was prompt. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and a fantastic place for quick, convenient, and hearty meals with outstanding Vegetarian options."

"Meal Type: Dinner Price Range: £20–30 per Person I had a delightful dining experience at this restaurant. The food was outstanding, earning a well-deserved 5 out of 5. Each dish was beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. The service was equally impressive, receiving a perfect score of 5 as well; the staff was attentive and friendly, making our evening even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, though I would rate it a 4, as it could benefit from a bit more ambiance. Overall, a fantastic place for dinner!"

"We went for a bottomless brunch on a Saturday and had a great experience. The food and drinks were delicious, but what really made our visit special was the exceptional service from Rachel and Becky. They were polite, super friendly, and helped create a fantastic atmosphere. The added bonus of mirror balls was a fun touch! Overall, we would highly recommend this place. Food, service, and atmosphere all receive top marks from us. We particularly enjoyed the English Breakfast dish."
