"the hop vine is one of my favorite places to eat in the opposite and has not dined here for a past. we had the steak ale pie, hunters chicken and for the desert apple pie cheesecake. Why, if one of my favorite places to dine, I give 4 stars....simple... the hope vine has set high standards with our earlier visits and this visit was very good, but not as good as before (now we have shared here haare) as it was very good. I think it was because we enjoyed our desert more than the main course. the personal here is very good and I mean very good and friendly some of the best in the opposite. a wonderful selection of real ales. I wish I could set the star rating to 4.5, but can only set 4 and not fair to set 5 if I know and have experienced the hop vine in his best before. if I were to come back, I would definitely recommend everyone. one of the best pub restaurants in the environment."

"This was our first visit and after looking at the positive reviews we thought we would give it a try. We had an early evening reservation which gave access to the 'happy hour ' menu pricing mains at £8.95 which supplements on certain choices. We had three different choices of Lasagne, Chicken Diane and Sea Bass followed by sticky toffee pudding. All the food was excellent, nicely presented with good portion size. The restaurant was very busy and while we were seated immediately, it was clear some larger parties were having to wait for tables to be cleared. Decoration inside the restaurant is contemporary and classy but the absence of any softer fabrics meant the restaurant was quite noisy. The restaurant also appeared to be geared towards larger parties and the configuration of tables meant that you may be seated quite close to other diners. Overall though, the experience was good, service polite and efficient with ample car parking on site."

"our first time here in over 30 years (I am long gone and back recently, and have to say it was beautiful. the food delicious (see pictures! and the personal attentive and friendly. plus points. the personal, really good local ingredients, cooked to perfection and a very relaxed evening. No one pushes them to have more or to go when done, how often happens in others. perfect. negative points. well there are alwqy's negative, but to be fair, these real Nit fucks are. When we arrived, we were asked to eat bar and order drinks. when we proposed the very pleasant barman, we sit and he 'd come our order. Unfortunately, he was banged and that never happened. when the maitre de came to accompany us to our table, he asked and was very surprised when we said we had no drinks. So to complete, an excellent evening beautiful staff, excellent eating and a really good time. would I go again? in a heartbeat."

"Having been here on numerous occasions, we decided to book for Mother’s Day. We paid a deposit and turned up as planned, only to find a set menu in service. We had no warning of this, and due to intolerances, the vast majority of main courses were unsuitable for one of us. Having raised these issues with the operations manager, she was very unsympathetic and made no effort to assist. Something as simple as speaking with the chef to figure a workaround is the least I expected; however, she simply advised that there was nothing she could do. From there, we had a 45 minute wait for food, parts of the order had been processed incorrectly and some foods simply weren’t as advertised. Upon raising such issues we were met with a similar response, besides one acknowledgement of the an incorrect order having been placed. Sadly, the lasting memory of our visit was the very unsympathetic and unapologetic nature of the manager, who did credit the drinks on our bill, yet did this via another member of staff with no formal acknowledgement or apology. On the whole, we were made to feel like a great inconvenience at should have otherwise been a lovely meal our with family. Needless to say, we won’t be returning."

"Unfortunately, this will be the final time we visit this restaurant. Our gut instinct told us to leave as soon as we arrived, but after spending £25 on a taxi, we decided to stay. Upon entering, we were not greeted and asked for our names, but instead encountered a noisy and cramped space. I had to act as the waiter and go to the bar to get a drinks menu. When our drinks arrived, they looked identical and were missing garnishes and ice. The server simply told us one had a straw in it to differentiate them. I then had to retrieve my own menu, as it was not offered to me. Our starters and mains were fresh and tasty, but the dessert experience was disappointing. My wife's dessert was so hard that the spoon got stuck in it. We asked for the bill multiple times, but it never arrived, so we left when our taxi arrived. The next day, the duty manager called me to say it was not acceptable to leave without paying, which was not our intention. I expect good service when paying for a meal. The atmosphere, service, and food were all subpar. I will never return to this restaurant, as we felt unwelcome and inconvenienced during our visit. It is a shame, as we were treated well during our previous visit. If you intend to be a restaurant, the sports bar image needs to be addressed.
