"I went for a business lunch, and although I wouldn't say it was a bad experience, I would be hard pressed to say it was an excellent one the portion sizes were a little hit and miss (very large side orders, but the starters felt a little small), and the service was not top notch. Being an Italian restaurant, I would have expected the waitress to know what a Negroni was, but that aside, things like the water not being left on the table and them forgetting to bring sides with the main course and needing to be reminded let the service down. It was not overly busy on the day we went, so there is room for improvement. There was nothing wrong with the food when it did arrive. Still, we didn't order anything out of the ordinary and having been to a few Italian restaurants recently, Bella Cosa, unfortunately, didn't figure high up on the places visited, which is a shame. Maybe it was an off day but overall as I say, although not a bad experience I couldn't say it was a great one."

"I booked this table for our first Valentine's date meal. We went into the hotel which looks really nice I was like wow not what I expected nice decore and smartly dressed staff. We then checked in at 1565 at 8.15pm we was taken to our table where we sat for 35minuites before the waiter came and asked if we would like a drink so we ordered. After we relieved the drinks we ordered our food we had 3 starters a main which was to share but was the size of a child's meal for one and we then had a dessert which should of been to share that came out tiny we ate 1st starter then we ate the 3rd then our main came I then asked the waiter in a polite manner why we did not receive our 2nd starter he said so sorry I didn't no so went to find out. He came back 20mins after with our 2nd starter then we had to wait another 25mins for our dessert we where starving after all of this. We was told that it is £40pp with a glass of rose, but as me and my partner do not drink alcohol i called up in the afternoon to swap it for soft drink which I was told that's fine u won't pay for your drink brilliant. Cut a long story short the bill came to £110.37p it's a good job my partner had his card with him as I only took £80 with me this is what we was charged. £40 valentine 5 course meal including drink £40 valentine 5 course meal including drink £6.00 ×2 small cokes £8.60 Service charge £15.77 VAT How can they tell you £80 then though all these bills on. I called up the next day as my partner did not want me to make a scene I was on the phone from 8.30am till 3pm on and off to try and sort the problem then to have to message my partners account number, sort code, 16 digit card number, security code and expiry day. Received no email from manager it was all done by text from his personal phone. Very unhappy customer and very unprofessional staff. I would never ever recommended this restaurant to anybody and I will be putting my point across to everybody."

"This is a nice Italian restaurant, on two levels, with Pizza style restaurant downstairs and fine dining upstairs. The menu prices are reasonable, although wines are a little expensive. The Octopus and the Rabbit Ragu were the standout dishes, although the purple potato puree was not a nice accompaniment to the Octopus main course and the warm Octopus salad starter was a better combination. Pasts was al dente, as I like it, but possible too firm for some taste. Service was good, although the maitre'd explained he was teaching someone, so we showed her some leniency. Main downside was a lack of diners, which was surprising for a Saturday night, so the ambience was rather muted. It is out the way for Canary Wharf, but was close to our hotel."

"If you're going to listen to decent music on a Saturday afternoon then this is a good place to pass the time away. However, the customer service is so so bad. I was aggressively spoken to by one of the servers called Alex. The food is not fit for consumption. And the price is a rip off. The bottomless Prosecco at £25 make sure you drink your moneys worth but be prepared to have a headache after because it is the cheapest brand they give u. Aside from the music don't expect to be wowed by the customer service delivery and food. Absolute shambles"

"One of the best cafes/restaurant/bar in Hove another hidden gem. Went for a late lunch on their summer menu will definitely go back to try their pastries. Did not experience the concerns expressed by other reviews regarding the service. Service was amazing and quick, even though there were quite a lot of customers at that time. Food and coffees were exceptional. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the gravy was delicious. The sea bass was very fresh and was executed flawlessly by the chefs. The barrister is really well trained and professional best mocha I have had in Brighton and Hove."

"The setting was pleasant, and the meals were satisfactory, but it didn't quite match the quality typically expected from a standard Italian restaurant. The bar staff provided good service, but unfortunately, our waitress was lacking and not very helpful."

"You will have heard of this place and rave reviews from some friends. So you already have an inflated expectation and it will poke your food related conscience if you don't try it. So do. Depending on your tastes and likings, chances are that you will realise that its very ordinary. Mostly overcrowded......but less than great food! I know the two don't normally go together. But that's the magic of marketing! Our pizza was a bit doughy and undercooked. Burger was dry. The pasta that someone ordered however was very good. So I cannot possibly rave about the food overall. Especially for the final price (after service charges) that we paid! But if you are after a noisy outing and drinks with...read more"

"Riva has a lovely outlook and is a great setting for dinner with friends. The menu choices are great contemporary dishes. The food preparation is of a very high standard and the service attentiveness the same. We love this place and will be back, a lovely place on the river in Gravesend."

"the other half for his birthday dinner. we went for the 2 curs and three course set menu on £15 and £18. it is valid from Monday to Thursday. that are definitely good value for money. for the head I had laughter and my man had superior to that. both were good, but I think the huh ran it tastefully. had the favorite for dessert, but I was so full that I could not appreciate it so much after the starter of parma ham and melons and the head. my other half had the white bait. I tried a piece, but it's not just my ding. he seemed to enjoy it. the no set menu has many choices, but is also pricier. the waiters were attentive, although the payment of the bill took a little longer than necessary, as it was not so busy. I will probably be back in the near future, but as I am a bargain hunter, will probably stay at the set menu"
"Sadly I wasn’t able to give this venue 5 stars due to one key element lack of staffing! Being a Bank Holiday Monday I deliberately booked a later time slot (2.45pm) we arrived earlier and were chilled when we had to wait a little longer for our table booking. It was evident that they were understaffed, with the continual issue of having to keep asking for water, condiments and more drinks. This said, the two key team members (non management) were clearly doing their very best to attend to us and other guests within the conservatory, all with a lovely manner but over run with guest hospitality basics. The set menu offering was great and we loved the dishes. Gordon Ramsey Holdings Ltd (HR Recruitment) seriously need to look at this obvious lack of staffing issues given the prestige of the branding and enticing your guests to return and leave 5 star reviews!"

"We opted for the set menu 3 x courses for £30 with a glass of bubbles. There were three choices for starters, main courses and 1 option of pudding or ice cream. I felt the choices were quite limited, another option would have been good. When we went to order we were told one of the starters wasn't available (Ham Hock), which we had all chosen. The alternative was Beef Tartar. We felt this an unusual choice and asked if there would be another option, we were told no, that is the option. We therefore decided to just go for two courses. The food we had was good, I had the Fishcake and my friends the Pie. We all then opted for Sticky toffee pudding (the only option). The set menu is good value, but it would be much more appealing to have more options, especially for a mid week quite bite. The service was good, and overall we enjoyed our evening."

"Don’t get me wrong I like Daylesford a lot and I am a supporter since their opening in Notting Hill. Daylesford stands for quality food and is more on the expensive side…. However, recently they broke a new record by serving their specials lunch for £22 with 5 small shrimps (not joking very small) and a tasteless green salad without sauce that seem to come straight out of a grocery bag….ah and a bottom of the plate a loveless thrown portion of mayonnaise. I am used to Daylesford prices but this one was stretching it a bit too far I thought. Hence my overall 2 stars. Service great as always and general vibe great as usual as well. I hope their menu team is rethinking their specials strategy a bit more in the future…."

"We ate in the restaurant one night for dinner. There were 4 of us. The food was lovely but the service not so great. Initially there was a mistake with our drinks order which was quickly rectified. We then ordered starters and mains. When the mains came they only brought out 2 sides of chips instead of 4. They said the other 2 sides of chips would be a minute or two, however it soon became clear they had forgot to cook them as we waited 4/5 minutes before they arrived by which time our steaks were only warm. We also had to ask for water for the table 3 times. Looking at other reviews I think we were just unlucky and the waiter was having a bad day. We couldn’t fault the food. The waiter adjusted the bill and didn’t charge us for the chips or our first drink as way of apology."

"We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious and hearty roast dinners we had at this restaurant. All four of us were impressed by both the food and the cocktails. The restaurant has a charming ambiance. The only minor downside was that the service could be somewhat impersonal and slow at times. Nevertheless, overall we had a fantastic meal."

"the hotel was absolutely perfect in any view. the only side was loud construction work outside our room, we were right next to the scaffold and the drilling. my enkelin complained when the holes went on to 5. the personal offered to move us into another room, but we had all started preparing at this point so it was not an option. they surprised us with a beautiful dinner of cheese bus kites and dived left in our room and very appreciated after drowning in the amount on the way back from adele concert. everything else perfect the personal, bar, eating and spa facilities very comfortable stay."

"Me and my partner recently visited the salt room. Service was great, was made to feel welcome. At first we were seated in the middle of the restaurant (we were 20 mins early), as we had asked for a romantic seat when we booked our reservation, within 5 minutes we had moved by a seat overlooking the sea that was perfect. In regards to the waiter, he was very accommodating and was able to answer my numerous questions regarding the menu, he had a sense of humour which is rare to find in most waiters/waitresses. Regarding the food... Well well all of the above could of been terrible and I would of still given 5 stars because the food was beautiful. I had the octopus starter which was in a lovely sauce that had numerous layers of flavour 5/5 My partner had the tomato soup, which although I personally didnt enjoy, my partner loved. 3/5 For mains my partner had the sirloin which lived up to its pricing and was perfectly cooked for her. 5/5 My main was the lobster which came with fresh crab claws, the lobster was precut with a thick sauce which also had many layers to it. 5/5 All in all we really enjoyed ourselves and will 100% be returning in the future. Hope this helps you decide whether to go here or not."

"The staff at the restaurant were very friendly, but it was a bit challenging to get their attention for drinks as they seemed preoccupied with chatting to each other. However, once the food arrived, it was delicious and everyone in our group enjoyed their meals without any complaints. The prices were a bit on the higher side, with even basic items like chips costing extra. Some members of our group decided to order desserts, but unfortunately, they were a letdown. The double waffle stack had cold and tough waffles, and the cheesecake base tasted stale. Overall, the burgers were tasty, but the desserts didn't meet our expectations."
