"This is a desperately disappointing place. Only can I assume benefitting from its fabulous world class location. I managed to book a last minute dinner for my wife and one of my sons by 'phone as the online site I tried said full (a good sign . However when we arrived on a glorious evening, the place was half empty (a bad sign . Nice waiter with a personality, but super slowwwww service despite probably being 50% full. Out of the dishes we wanted to try two were not available (which was probably a blessing , so opted for the beer batter cod. Oh dear or dear, what a mistake. Over cooked with a shell as hard a conch shell, dry and chewy. When my dish finally arrived it was accompanied by what can only be described as oven chips (whether actual or not and a dried out green putty concoction that resembled the texture of a pebble dash wall (peas? .. And served in one of those really nasty wire baskets that you get a chain restaurant on a retail park come on team, you eat with your eyes and senses! And certainly not up to the bill total with a meal more in keeping with one of those mid market joints. My family have lived by the coast and know first hand what fresh cod/haddock tastes like. Even the local Turkish chippie here in East Dulwich serves up amazing fish and chips from possibly frozen so no excuses here I 'm afraid. What really grated was instance of the members of the kitchen and waiting team enthralled in a loud deep droning conversation to station themselve on the railings just up from our outside table, clearly more interested in chit chat than looking after customers or serving up a half decent meal. And blotting out the beautiful full moon to boot! This is my second try here in 18 months after a less than impressed visit with a bunch of friends a while ago, leaving the feeling then that we were mildly ripped off for second rate food, but I wanted to give the place another go! The rest of the family were ok with their burger and chips mass market menu and salad type meal, but none opted for pud, so a clear sign that we 'd had enough. My overall summary would be, that this restaurant is a real opportunity missed, poorly managed or run by a team that just don 't care enough. As the location is to die for. It needs some serious mystery shopping to get the food up to scratch, and sharpen the service to bring it up anywhere to the standard or reputation it once had... Needless to say I 've scratched it off the family and client list. A real shame"

Such a great spot along the Thames, fantastic decor and very helpful and friendly staff. We sat outside and it was a great atmosphere. Menu was very good and we shared some starters. All food was delicious as were the drinks.

Thank you to the Chop House for making my birthday lunch an afternoon to remember. Great spot on the river and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our waiter Joe was excellent, he provided very attentive service to our large table of 14. Absolutely great service. Thank you to everyone, especially all those that sang an unexpected but amusing happy birthday to me.

Fantastic food as always plus the service from Ed and the lovely team was fabulously ,exceptional . Definitely deserves 10 stars and cater for friends, families , couples and a perfect setting. We were celebrating our birthdays and even got a beautiful cake slice . How lovely is that ? Right opposite London Bridge and just a short walk along the river from Tower Hill. Enjoy our London dining in style

Ate here twice over the weekend. On both occasions the staff were very attentive and friendly. The first time the food was ok and we thought we 'd come back for the Sunday roast. Big mistake: cold, dry and bland. The couple at the next table said to waiter whilst he was clearing away that it was the worst roast he 'd ever eaten. Whether it was that bad depends on what you 've eaten in the past, but suffice to say, we wont be going back. 3/5 because the staff and the wine were good, otherwise we would have dropped a point. You obviously pay for the view and location. I had hoped that the food would be at least above average but it was hanging precariously on average. The fish and chips (at 20£ was tasteless with dry and crusty mushy peas. The kids cheese burger was dry and served with a sauce on it that was not on the menu so we didn’t know to ask for it without. The 32£ sirloin Sunday Roast was also nothing to be excited for. The service was good and quick and the staff were friendly and kind. Just be ready to be underwhelmed by the food and overwhelmed by the prices.

This is a maxied review. Our waiter Francesco was fantastic insaving the evening and apologising for the food but ultimately £28.00 for an overcooked pork chop the size of the palm of my girlfriends hand is not acceptable. I have been going to Chop House for years, great location, great service, but the portions size compared to the price is ridiculous and I am not a big eater at all. A real shame. The kitchen has to look at what they hand out, again thanks to Fancesco for apologising and making the evening a pleasure but they need to sort the food if they want to charge those prices.

We’ve been here a few times and always sit outside! The views of Tower Bridge are phenomenal! Great food we were two couples and had the Chateaubriand with all the trimmings. Absolutely gorgeous. Great wine menu too and a fantastic way to spend a sunny afternoon. On this occasion I’d say the only thing that really let it down for us was the service sadly I don’t think there were sufficient staff on to look after the outside tables so we had to chase wine order and bernaise sauce a few times. The service charge here though 13.5% seems pretty eye watering even for London. So when you are paying a service charge like that then the service really should be first class. Other than that though a r... View menu

This would and should have been a 5 star review. We sat outside with some friends with one of the most iconic views of London behind us. We are locals not tourists and it was a bit galling to order the chateau briand and to be advised by our server that he could eat a whole one to himself and we should go for the tomahawk steak. 38 to 67 pp upgrade! We stood our ground and ordered the chateaubriand which was beautifully cooked with excellent fries and a side of a stunning mushroom dish. Our dish was medium rare and was more than enough for the two of us. Which we did feedback. Bit surprised that the bill had a 13.5% service charge. Since when did London ape New York! Without these it would h...

We had a booking here using a virgin experience voucher we were given as a gift, if you have one yourself then please note the menu choice is much smaller than the regular, I’m quite a fussy eater and had to opt for the steak with a side of chips, we asked if we could order off the main menu but was told No, we were willing to pay but think the server thought we wanted it as part of the voucher) we didn’t take any starter or dessert due to the small variety on offer, 1 bottle of Prosecco was also included but we don’t drink this either, On the plus side the service was exceptional ! We were offered a bottle of house red in exchange for the Prosecco any other drinks we ordered which we should...
