"We had a delicious breakfast at kats kitchen this week! I had the brekky burrito which was so yummy and my partner had the full brekky with a caramel milkshake which he enhaled! Gorgeous cafe with a lovely mezzanine overlooking the river, the staff were really lovely and very reasonably priced. Also the pocket pie I took away with me was gorgeous! Will definately be back next time we're in the area :"

"We had a family meal here while out for a walk. Food came in a reasonable time and a decent size and price. Sometimes had difficulty catching the eye of staff. Draught beer and cider includes Stowford Press, Neck Oil and Proper Job which went down well. I had a halloumi burger which had a lovely amount of halloumi and it wasn't chewy but soft, great mix with pesto and peppers. Husband had steak and kidney suet pudding which was a favourite and the rest of the table had scampi (great big fat chips that were crispy and soft inside) and then mackerel pate and prawn cocktail (starters so they could justify dessert). The st Clements cheesecake was full of citrus but no orange and very creamy, otherwise didn't pack much flavour Toilets clean and well looked after"

"The staff are great, the food was lovely. But, we were seated in an outside marquee, one minute it was warm, the next it was cold. As our meal lasted almost 3hrs, it wasn't great. After being seated, the drinks came quick, followed by our order being taken. A short time later the starters came. Some time later, we started to get our main meal, the first 4 of the 6 meals came out, after a bit of a wait the other 2. Maybe 5 minutes later the side orders, then we had to wait for the veg. If it wasn't for the restaurant temperature and the main course problems, I'd recommend the Boot."

"Playfair 's is a small steakhouse restaurant, very close to the famous golf course, The Old Course. It is located on one of the main streets of the small town of St Andrews, on North Street. They have a small terrace at the entrance, down a few steps, which makes you isolate from street traffic... The restaurant is decorated with the typical British pub touch, very cozy! My trip and I went for the same dish, and it seems that a lot of the people in the restaurant at that time, too, I'm not surprised! The Steak Sandwich was the chosen one, Take steak to the iron, caramelized onion and a delicious mustard mayonnaise! All accompanied by the Chunky Chips (gross and richest fries that I have tried in a very long time!You cannot miss this site if you visit this jewel of the Scottish coast! :"

"I have booked for my son 21st birthday meal for family friends. I booked it three weeks. I was given before the meal menu so we could watch our free time. the workers are very attentive, nothing was too much annoyed for them. Eating was fab, even a part of the meal changed to include a person in the party. I would definitely come back to a meal. we look forward to a lunch in summer."

"Great setting, Great service, Great food! As locals this was our first visit for a few years. We were with. Friend who has a few mobility issues and struggles with the cold. The table were allocated was by the door to the outside area which was a bit too cold and drafty for our friend. After mentioning this we were offered a table at the back which was perfect…thanks! Both food and service was first class. We chose a few small plates to start, and a mix of Seafood linguine, massama curry and a halloumi wrap for mains. Everything was made with quality ingredients, tasty and appetising and served by friendly attentive staff. Absolute couldn’t fault anything. Thank you"

"first visit for us and we were both very impressed. we visited on a Saturday afternoon after the use of google to find a local restaurant and decide here based on the pictures. I have shared some pictures of our visit for them as we have ordered what we saw online typical choice with our eyes to eat! eating was really nice and the pictures really do, do the food justice. everything was fresh and everything we hoped for. service was a little quiet with regard to check-ins, but the interactions we had were polite and friendly. I would have been glad to share how happy we were with everything, especially the starters we had chosen, but this opportunity did not occur. we heard a table close in asking how everything was so that I wouldn't take too much away from it. a really nice visit. we couldn't manage this dessert, but we'll definitely be back. some other information. we have previously called to make sure that they can take us what they could, but they can also book 30 minutes before the indication from inside or outside via the website, availability permit. there was only one other family to eat when we arrived, so it was nice and quiet and that was around 12 on a Saturday. we decided, because it is still enclosed and heated, which was beautiful. it has pick up while we were there, but it was okay for walk-ins."

"Having just moved to the village this week, we walked into the king and Queen last night for dinner, what a great experience from start to finish. Anne Marie looked after us superbly all evening with table service of drinks and food. Ambience, vibe, lighting, service all superb. I can't recall another Hampshire pub that does it this well. Food was swift to arrive, good portions (the burger in particular looked epic) and fairly priced. This could well be my new local for the next year in hamble. Keep it up guys. Fantastic."

"I couldn 't really fault the restaurant, the food was excellent, garlic mushrooms to start, Sea Bass main with a side of garlic bread (which I couldn 't finish). Busy, warm (a bit too warm), cosy, a little loud but accommodating and pleasant. I can 't rate them higher, neither can I mark them down for the entitled young twits who came in, seated themselves and proceeded to have inappropriate, loud, conversations about bodily functions and their, shall we say 'unusual ' bedroom activities. Drunk? Maybe, had it not been for them I 'd have stayed for dessert and a coffee but I couldn 't tolerate it any longer. I 'm far from prudish but listening to that was beyond what I 'd consider comfortable. There 's a time and place for that, chaps and that wasn 't it. All in all I would recommend Fausto 's and would return again, hopefully sans the riffraff."

"I was here before I got vegan and it's close to the office. eating is good, not the best tapas I've ever had. but a good option. the vegan options are okay, my problem is that all the options have fake cheese or fake cream. I would have preferred it if they were clearly optional, as I prefer to avoid those where possible. surprisingly paras bravas in the main menu was not listed. I wasn't sure if it was a supersupervised or if it wasn't vegan. I will go back"

"We returned to the Royal Oak after some years for Sunday lunch. Limited menu (a far cry from the old days of a long list of microwaved, frozen, ready meals). Good value a generous country portion of roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings for £15. The food was hot, freshly cooked, tasty and served on a hot plate. Some might prefer gravy to be served in a separate jug. The Royal Oak is as attractive as ever a fine old country pub in a village on the Kennet Avon canal. Just the sort of place that should be supported to stay in business. It seemed to be doing well. The restaurant was almost full but with room for walk ins. Dog friendly. Good beer. Good service, as long as you are not looking for fast food delivery."

"three of us visited stripped on our vacation in iow, quite random! the employees were wonderful for our nutrition (two vegan/gf, one omni) and advise us that most of the things can be adjusted in the menu for vegan nutrition. they also cook their own gf vegan brot in the house. the portions were generous, eating delicious and the atmosphere very cozy. the whole vibe of stripped is very special so it has to visit one when they find themselves in the opposite. or it is worth traveling!"

"The Carnarvon helped us celebrate our small Christmas eve wedding. We was in the glass House area which was nice and private. The food was perfect and all our guests was happy and enjoyed what they had ordered. We opted for the Christmas fayre menu to keep it simple which had a decent choice on it for people who didn't want an actual Christmas dinner. The only mix up I had noticed is some people wanted custard and not cream on their puddings but it was sorted straight away with no fuss. Our guest who haven't been to the Carnarvon before was commenting how nice the place is and want to visit again. I would highly recommend , we got a fantastic professional services from start to finish. The only complaint I would have is that the Christmas fayre should have came with Santa hats and crackers which was not put out. Would have been fun for the photos."

"We had a delightful meal on Saturday night at this restaurant. We typically order 3 appetizers, take a short break, and then order 3 more appetizers in the next round. This allows customers to create their own meal with exactly what they want. The food was delicious, as was the house white wine served by the carafe. We finished off the evening with a few Greek coffees, as well as Metaxa and Tia Maria. The restaurant was not too busy for a Saturday, but there were enough customers around to create a lively atmosphere. The service was good and the total bill was very reasonable for what we had ordered. If I had to make any negative comments, I would say that the interior could use some updating. Additionally, when the owner came out later to visit tables, he seemed to overlook our table. However, these were minor issues and we still give the restaurant 5 stars for the overall experience."

"Had a lovely meal at Charlie's last weekend for our Christmas doo.. Food delicious but.. . I have a but! I asked for a white wine, offered verbally a selection, I chose The sauvignon blanc.. Nice but not £10..odd a glass!! I should have asked the price but I think when it gets over £6 the waiting on staff should say that is £10.didnt find this out until the bill came I had 2 glasses so unknowing to me my 2 drinks cost me nearly as much as my meal.. Shocked to say the least. The food was delicious.. And the place is lovely, just watch the drinks!!"

"Lovely place to get some food, kids meal although was more than some places all looked fresh and nicely cooked. Cod special was delicious and the apple crumble with the home made ice cream was delicious. In the summer the beer garden would be lovely. The lights hanging from the ceiling are a nice feature. It feels like a cosy pub and the server was very polite and helpful and the food came out in good timing and was very tasty. If I was local this would be a go to treat dinner out! Parking: Parking was easy alrhough I think we were there before the main rush as it got busier the longer we were there but there wasn't many cars in the carpark Kid-friendliness: Kids menu with colouring and colouring pencils supplied.
