"We were in Jellyfish for the second time. The first time a year ago. At that time there were still Corona editions, in any case there were fewer tables in the already small place. And last time we had a better table. This time, we sat right in the “incoming snow” kitchen and toilet... suboptimal for a romantic dinner. One or two times the food was faster than the wine tasting and we had to wait a minute, that should not happen. But the food itself was as usual and expected excellent. We'll be happy to come back when we're in Hamburg."

"Picked up a flyer menu from outside the premises. This offered free delivery within 1.5mile radius, though when phoning our order there is no longer free delivery anywhere! Food was ready quickly. Only 4 dips available, the fifth one shown is no longer available... Chips...were some of the soggiest I've ever had. We had to put them in the oven at home to finish cooking them. Rest of the food was ok."

"I visited and dined at this restaurant twice in one week while I was in Bristol in November 2022. The souvlaki gyros, both chicken and pork, were excellent and had great taste. It is rare to find a souvlaki place in the UK that upholds the same standards as we have in Greece when it comes to flavor and meat quality. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. I would give this restaurant 5 stars across the board and hope to dine there again soon. I just wish there was a Taka Taka restaurant where I live."

"Food was top notch very well priced considering the large portion sizes. However service was a little slow, especially when trying to get the bill which we were waiting 25 mins for. Ground floor area is small cramped, if coming here would definitely recommend booking seating in the bar area upstairs, which is much more roomy. Will definitely be back though as the food was fantastic."

"My husband , myself ,our two daughters and three grandchildren , the youngest being three, had lunch here on Monday. We are , one dairy and gluten free, 4 vegan , one vegetarian and one who eats anything. Usually this makes eating out difficult but this place had everything covered ,with more than one vegan choice ,which is rare. They are also dog friendly but have one area dog free in case of allergy. The portions were very generous and the staff friendly and helpful. highly recommend and hopefully will get to visit again ."

"I was unaware that this cafe had changed ownership. It used to be absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, the quality has significantly declined since the new management took over. The staff member was friendly and attentive, however, the food was terrible. It was all cheap and poorly prepared. The sausage was tough, the fried egg was overcooked with a hard yolk and burnt edges, the beans were low quality, and the toast was pre-buttered with nasty margarine, not even buttered to the edges. I believe toast should be presented without being covered in butter and given a separate butter square to add yourself. In any case, I suggest not wasting your money here and finding another place to eat."

"Ordered via Just Eat last night. Hadn't ordered from here before but my partner lived in Greece for many years so wanted to give her a wee taste of her childhood. Both my partner and myself were very impressed. Food was delivered on time, chips were still crispy, pita breads had that nicely charred elements and the meat was great, especially the port gyro. Since the restaurant recognised we were a new customer they even threw in a large 2l bottle of Irn Bru for free. Will order again!"

"I used to use this cafe all the time before I moved away and when I was back in Kent I was looking forward to visiting again. My family and I turned up and found a table outside. I went to go into the shop...to ask if they took card to be greeted by a waitress who abruptly told me yes. I then said to my family I was going to get a menu to be told by the waitress that it was table service and that we had sat at a dirty table and we that would have dirty menus too..! The people next to us said”that’s you told off”. We left as I don’t pay to have people be rude to me or my family. Utterly disgusted and disappointed."

"My wife and I don't dine out often, but when we do, we look for places that offer delicious food at reasonable prices. The Coach House in New Romney has consistently surpassed our expectations and is by far the best place to eat in town. What sets The Coach House apart is its focus on quality. Every dish features top-quality ingredients, with an emphasis on sourcing locally whenever possible. From fresh produce to tender meats, each bite at The Coach House showcases their commitment to excellence. It's disappointing to see recent reviews that don't appreciate the value of this small, local treasure. These criticisms don't seem fair and don't understand the hard work that goes into running a business like The Coach House. Maybe those individuals would prefer a less sophisticated dining experience, but for those who love genuine culinary expertise, The Coach House is a real treasure. We want to thank Fred and Hazel for their dedication to serving exceptional food. Their passion for quality and love of food shines through in every dish, making The Coach House a must-visit for anyone who enjoys fine dining. Thank you to Fred, Hazel, and the whole team for their continued excellence!"

"There’s certainly no shortage of food outlets in Ocean Terminal, with the likes of Wagamama, Pizza Express and Franky Benny’s all taking up residence. On a recent visit, Mr. Nick’s seemed to be the only busy outlet, with only a couple of empty tables. We (the girlfriend and myself decided to try it out. We both went for the Chicken Gyros pita. It’s described on the menu as being wrapped with tomatoes, onion tzatziki and fries and was only £4.50. Who would have thought that including fries in a pita would be such a good idea? The meat to salad to fries ratio was spot on, and there was just enough of each to keep hunger at bay but not ruin my appetite for dinner later. The staff at Mr Nicks were both friendly and helpful, making it a delightful place to pop into for a spot of lunch. It’s perfect for grabbing a quick bite to eat while out shopping or grabbing some dinner before or after a visit to the cinema. Note: They don't offer alcoholic beverages (Sorry! I didn't get any pics during this visit. Read the full review here:"

"If you love Gyros you must try here! Would rate a million stars if I could. What an amazing experience at Yiamas. Honestly one of the best gyros if not meals I have eaten in a long time. The quality, taste and flavours were incredible and to match some proper Greek beer! Delicious. I had the hummus and pitta and also the mixed gyro (Chicken and Pork). The waitress who served me was very friendly and polite and I’m very thankful for her attentiveness. I am not local to the area but when I return to the area I will definitely pop in again."

"Our family of 7 members, who had traveled from various parts of the UK for a celebration, decided to dine at the Rosette. Our parents used to take us there on Sundays when we lived in Scarborough, so it was a trip down memory lane for us. We were delighted with our experience as it brought back wonderful memories and allowed us to reminisce about the days spent playing in the garden. The staff were fantastic and welcoming, the food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. A big thank you to the team at the Rosette for providing us with a fantastic dining experience."

"Booked a table at 2pm online, where we were told they needed the table back at 4pm. We arrived literally a couple of minutes late due to traffic and we were greeted by a rude member of staff who told us the kitchen had closed! When I asked why they have a table available for a booking at 2pm if the kitchen is closes at the same time, the same member of staff said “we were late” and basically kicked us out. Garbage customer service and booking policy. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t get any!"

"Amazing service and great food. All the staff members were lovely and we ended up having a lovely conversation with Surya, a waiter there, and another nice conversation one with two other employees outside who were on their break, when we were leaving: have eaten their food before but only takeaway! Tasty every time. Out first time eating in the restaurant and it was so cute and classy and they played good music in the background such as Amy Winehouse which made it even nicer. Will make an effort to come back to the restaurant, it’s a great place."

"Yesterday evening the 2nd February my wife and her friends visited this establishment. There were 4 of them in total. I asked my wife if she could bring me home a chicken gyros after her meal as I love the Greek gyros. On returning home I enquired as to how her meal was. In response she said “it was not only the worst Greek food she’d had, it was the worst food she’d ever eaten” . That’s saying something as we visit Greece at least once a year and love authentic Greek cuisine. She explained that the starters were poorly prepared and ‘a strange combination of ingredients’ . The main course for all 4 of them was over cooked and dry to the point all them left their food and when asked by the waitress if everything was okay ? the response was an emphatic no, to which a a mumbled response was given but no offer of an apology or reduction in the bill. Looking forward to my gyros and hoping it was better than my wife and her friends experience I was sadly disappointed. There was a total of roughly 4 greasy, soggy chips. Roughly 5 or 6 small dried out chicken pieces and the salad looked at least 2 days old and also dried out which went straight in the bin.The pita bread was okay though. The reason I’m writing this and not my wife is she doesn’t like confrontation but I feel restaurants should be held accountable for poor food and service. You would think in this present economical climate restaurants would be making every effort to give a good service when finances are tight, after all you need repeat customers. My wife and her friends paid over £120 for an extremely sub standard experience and then paid £7.50 for an extremely sub standard gyros which went into the bin. I decided to share a photo of my £7.50 gyros. I’m also more than willing to speak in person to the owner, chef if they’re happy to."

"After seeing the amazing pictures on facebook we decided to give this place a chance. Upon walking in we were hit in the face by the most powerful wet dog smell, I looked at the tired people sitting at the bar and thought seating must be upstairs or another part of the building we were taken around the corner where there are aprox 8 tables and were given menus covered in dried food. We decided to stick it out and ordered two mains from the menu thinking it would be worth it if the food was nice. We were the second customers in the restaurant area. the first couple were served their food yet after sitting for an hour still no food was brought out to us. A family who arrived a good 45 minutes after us were served their starters and i could see a few dishes here and there beings served with no apparent system in place. Another couple who had been there almost as long as us got up and left, thats when we also realised it was time to cut our losses and go. I asked the waitress if we could pay for the two cokes we ordered and at that point there was still no suggestion that the food was almost ready so we left. Overall thoughts, Building is VERY tired like a working mans club, very understaffed, dirty floor, dirty menus, terrible customer service, a very poor mumbled apology as we left about a kitchen staff not turning up to work."

"We visited this restaurant today (Sunday) for a meal and were thrilled to have found it. Despite not having a reservation, they were able to accommodate us. We were greeted with a warm smile and the staff, who were polite and professional, were very helpful. We opted for the roast beef lunch, which was fantastic with generous portions and perfectly cooked beef. We were delighted to have discovered this gem and will definitely be returning."

"We absolutely loved everything we ate at this restaurant. We tried the Sharing Board, Grub Salad Bowl, Eggplant and 'Halloumi' Burger, Peas Hummus and Pictta, Wedges with Garlic Mayo, Chocolate Milkshakes, and local beer, and everything was delicious. The falafel was particularly outstanding, unlike any we've had before – crispy and melt-in-the-mouth good. It was half-term when we visited, but it seems like this place is always busy because it's right on the beach. It's best to make a reservation for dinner (we saw it was fully booked a few weeks before traveling) or come early or late for lunch to avoid a wait. This is our favorite place in the Scillies, and we updated our rating on May 31, 2022."
