A traditional Greek dish with seasoned meat, fresh vegetables, and tangy tzatziki sauce, all wrapped in warm pita bread.

"We stood waiting to have our order taken for good 10 minutes while staff was just literally doing nothing and ignoring us. The staff was very rude and when asked questions about food replied with sarcasm and rudeness with one word answers. Food portions are tiny, chips were very stale and cold you can see in the photo £3.50 for that portion is a joke. The gyros were cold , dry and not good. It was our first time trying Greek gyros and honestly this has not been a good experience. Will not recommend this place to anyone. When you get orders worth nearly £40 you expect some quality... The kebab shop outside offers better food"

"Oh my goodness, I wish I lived closer so I could visit again tomorrow. They have a separate vegan menu which has many of their staples made vegan. They have a range of tapas options, vegan gyros, platters and larger plates. We had the Halloumi and chorizo gyros (granted the Halloumi wasn’t to our taste, but we ate the rest). It came with chips, aioli, a little salad too. I had the hummus and pitta which was lovely really creamy and full of flavour. I had the patatas aioli which was incredible and my favourite was the borakakia (aubergine wrapped feta topped with marinara sauce). This is a dish I’ve had in Greece many times prior to being vegan, and I never thought I’d get anything close. Genuinely just closed my eyes and enjoyed it! Staff were attentative, friendly, and clued up about vegan offerings. Genuinely couldn’t fault the place! Ambience was great too."

"Another amazing meal here, we come at leastbonce a month for some of the most authentic, tasty and reasonably priced food. The dolmades are always great and the feta and spinach parcel are delicious! The gyros platter is what I adore and it cannot be faulted but, the filthy fries, omg, the filthy fries! Salty, crisp and moreish, the sauce is spicy and the feta just makes this another level. I would go just for the fries if I could! Decent amount of chicken or pork meat on top too! We shall return in the not too distant future!"

"beautiful small caffe with a surprisingly extensive menu. many vegetarian options and quite decent vegan choice, including a whole day cooked breakfast for only £7.50 including a drink of choice. the brekkie included hash browns, sausages, beans, good quality toast, spinat, tomaten, avocados and mushrooms and was beautiful and fill, and I always like the uptake of spinat in a fry up as not only it goes surprisingly well, but it makes it a bit healthy I got no chance to try some cake on this cake but I know of their Facebook page they have"

"order by eating them last night. from here I had not ordered, but my partner lived in Greece for many years, so you wanted to give a wee taste of her child. both my partner and I were very impressed. eating was delivered on time, chips were still crispy, pita brote had these nicely carburized elements and the meat was great, especially the port gyro. Since the restaurant realized that we were a new customer, they even threw them in a large 2l bottle irn bru free. will order again!"

"I never write bad reviews but this one deserves it, so they don’t go out of business. We ordered food and coffee, the food never arrived and the coffee was the worst coffee I had in a while. Since it’s a cafe at least they should get that right. I had to complain about my late cause it was 80% foam and it was all milk, and when they bring me the second one the didn’t change a thing. We waited for the food for 45 minutes and when we asked for an update because we had to leave they said it would still take a while. We cancelled the order and the waitress was really rude about it. She still charged us £6 for the foamy horribly tasting latte and the americano that was supposed to be included in the breakfast. This place really needs to fix their issues and hire new staff."

"If you love Gyros you must try here! Would rate a million stars if I could. What an amazing experience at Yiamas. Honestly one of the best gyros if not meals I have eaten in a long time. The quality, taste and flavours were incredible and to match some proper Greek beer! Delicious. I had the hummus and pitta and also the mixed gyro (Chicken and Pork). The waitress who served me was very friendly and polite and I’m very thankful for her attentiveness. I am not local to the area but when I return to the area I will definitely pop in again."

"The restaurant was welcoming and the staff greeted us warmly. They informed us about their new menu, so we sat down and looked through the wide selection of starters and main courses. After some deliberation, we decided to share the 3 starters for £11 deal, which included nachos, mozzarella sticks with dip, and battered mushrooms with another dip – all of which were delicious. For our main courses, we both opted for the Greek Gyros dishes. My wife had hers with a wrap, salad, and skin-on fries, while I had the Gyros chicken and jalapeño chili dish on a sizzle plate with hot vegetables, skin-on fries, side salad, and two wraps. Both dishes came with tzatziki and a drizzle of hot sauce. The portions were more than generous, and we were both completely satisfied. The food was amazing, reasonably priced, and we highly recommend this restaurant if you ever find yourself in Scarborough."

"We love it here. Even a fussy 13 year old loves the food. Everything that comes out of the kitchen looks and smells incredible. The food is fresh, packed with flavour and the portions are generous. The staff are warm and welcoming and you are made to feel like you're the only customer despite the place being full Highly recommend Socrates."

"Was recommended lunch her by a local car dealership. It was busy. Parking not great. Tight few spaces. Then its on the main road. Almost gave up, but someone left. Nice surroundings. Not many staff. Ordered lunch, which took almost an hour. A mixed grill for my hubby. Which was substantial and tasty. I had a prawn cocktail only as I wasnt that hungry. Sorely dissapointed. A load of dark green lettuce. On a plate with some prawns in sauce thrown at it and 4 triangles of stale brown bread. No cucumber, no tomato. Should have ordered a prawn sanwich. Same things only much cheaper. Service: 3 Location: 3"

"steki taverna is a charming family run Greek taverne, founded in southsea in portsmouth since 1998. the decor is welcoming and similar to the taverns that they see in Greece – terracotta floor, wooden tables and beams. They opened a second two-g in brighton in 2006. in the course of the years we must have sampled most items on the menu: as with most restaurants, some dishes are better than others and we are repeatedly withdrawn to our favorites. there are a good number of meat, seafood and vegetarian decisions. this is a good place for vegetarians – most of the hot and cold starters are suitable for vegetarians. menu items are t"

"So disappointed! We ordered 2 x regular grill halloumi and vegs, 1 spinach pastry and 1 dessert. When I opened the bag my first impression was only greasy paper bags inside, no a proper take away boxes. Our meal was called: Grilled halloumi and vegs...There were only 1 small slice of halloumi per person, grilled pepper, onions and chips and no yogurt sauce (something they made me angry). They sent us a cheese pastry instead of the spinach one and small dessert portion.I called and they told me that if I wanted more halloumi I should have ordered the larger option, something that made me laugh when the main is called Halloumi with vegs, but wow, only one slice of halloumi per person? Really?I paid £20 and we were still hungry after dinner. Also the packing was a paper bag. If someone is going to eat there then fair enough but for a deliveroo service I expected better quality, it was all messy in the bag.Really bad experience sorry."

"After seeing the amazing pictures on facebook we decided to give this place a chance. Upon walking in we were hit in the face by the most powerful wet dog smell, I looked at the tired people sitting at the bar and thought seating must be upstairs or another part of the building we were taken around the corner where there are aprox 8 tables and were given menus covered in dried food. We decided to stick it out and ordered two mains from the menu thinking it would be worth it if the food was nice. We were the second customers in the restaurant area. the first couple were served their food yet after sitting for an hour still no food was brought out to us. A family who arrived a good 45 minutes after us were served their starters and i could see a few dishes here and there beings served with no apparent system in place. Another couple who had been there almost as long as us got up and left, thats when we also realised it was time to cut our losses and go. I asked the waitress if we could pay for the two cokes we ordered and at that point there was still no suggestion that the food was almost ready so we left. Overall thoughts, Building is VERY tired like a working mans club, very understaffed, dirty floor, dirty menus, terrible customer service, a very poor mumbled apology as we left about a kitchen staff not turning up to work."

"Visited today with a friend, he had been to the other restaurant they have on Allerton Road and enjoyed it. So we were keen to see what the one on Hardman Street was like. Our visits was a Thursday evening and the restaurant was pretty quiet. We were seated quickly, the server gave us the option of where we sat. We were given menus and a glass bottle of ice cold water was given to us. We soon ordered our drinks, a Diet Coke and beer and went for a version of a mixed grill they do for 2. This contained chicken and pork kebabs, sliced chicken, lamb chop, chips, coldslaw, pitta and a spicy gravy. The table was prepared for this and the food was out in 15-20 minutes. The food was excellent, the kebabs and sliced chicken were well cooked and everything had a unique flavour. We are hungry guys but this tray of food filled us easily. The servers was attentive but not overly fussing. They regularly checked all was okay and the food was nice. When we finished. Our table was cleared and much to my surprise we were brought 2 brownies with cream, on the house. These were really nice and although small, it perfectly capped the meal. We were in there roughly 1 and a half hours, and the whole experience was pleasant. The restaurants decor is traditional and clean. The bill came and for the meal for 2 and the drinks only came to £38. Absolute bargain. Highly recommend, we will be back."

"Yesterday evening I visited tee, had cajun chicken kewers and salt and pepper sprens starter, then a south-fried chickenburger, cheeseburger and wobble rings boiled to perfection. good break between the curses. very fresh and directly from the kitchen to the table. it was a quiet Tuesday evening, although the staff welcomed us and offered a very efficient service, which I feared that they might have been a bit more friendly, maybe a smile and a recognition of a decent tipp? excellent drinks, mini-prosecco good quality and Cask-Ales. extremely good value for money. will be back with the shiny ones."

"Just had to put pen to paper to say what a fantastic and delightful experience it was eating at this restaurant today. Having just moved to the area from Yorkshire we drove out today to explore the local area, visiting Castle Douglas. Seeing this restaurant...brought a smile to our faces as three years ago we honeymooned in Greece. We have tried eating in Greek restaurants in Yorkshire to recreate the Greek experience but everyone has been disappointing. Although busy today the front of house girls were very friendly and accommodating and managed to fit us in and made us feel welcome. We ordered the meze starter for two as well as two main courses and wow the food was incredible. The authentic taste of the food was enough to transport us back to Greece three years ago. We were blown away by the food, the front of house staff and obviously the kitchen staff and chefs who made eating at Nikos such an enjoyable experience. We had a lovely day out in a lovely town. Without any shadow of a doubt we will be back to sample more delights. Authentic Greek cuisine has really been captured here in Scotland."

"Date night with the wife. I was looking for somewhere local I had never been, which did food I could eat. I'm off carbs and sugar... for my diabetes type 2. I've lived here forever but I had never had reason to come in before. So reading the menu meat it was then. Realised they had cheese pie which is a real crowd pleaser for the wife. Parked up right outside, which was good. There isn't much parking at the pub so be warned. Went in around 7 on a Friday night and it was busy. The service was...slow. I'm off beer as well as sugar, so tried the Brooklyn lager...and it was really good. If less than ideal 2g sugar 100ml. Managed to drink 2 bottles before we got our order in. Specials are blah blah blah...sorry no cheese pie... Damn it there go my brownie points. So we ordered one special starter and one off the main, and two main courses. Black pudding scotch eggs, and cod balls. Fish n Chips and Mixed Grill no chips. 5 mins later no Black pud scotch eggs...can we have the brie...5 mins later...yup no brie. Hmm We both had the cod balls. Absolutely starving when they arrived. 30 minutes after we arrived. Good job they were fabulously good. Sadly I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture. Perfect crust on them, lots of fish and only a bit of potato (hmm didn't say that on the menu). A further relaxed 30 minute wait followed for our main course. My meal was fine. Not the best ever, I had opted out of the chips, and it came without much salad. Which I would normally have expected to be there. Almost looked like they had left room for it on my plate but forgot to serve it. Though to be fair that's probably where the chips would go. The fish was really great for the wife and her chips were yummy. Stole one shh don't tell the diabetes. The atmosphere was good, all the people were friendly, it was just a bit slow. All in all I will go back though perhaps pick a steak next time, and ask for some salad with it."

"We often visit Romsey during the summer for vacation and we discovered The Sun Inn in 2021. Since then, we have returned frequently because we always have delicious meals and encounter friendly staff. We make sure to order something for our dog when we visit and we always have a great time! I would recommend this restaurant to families, including those with children and vegetarians, as there is something for everyone on the menu."
