A traditional Greek dish with seasoned meat, fresh vegetables, and tangy tzatziki sauce, all wrapped in warm pita bread.

"I feel I need something more than the generic response I received after my scathing review , perhaps I wasn't clear , the food was inedible , despite being ravenous after a long road trip neither me or my friend ate more than a few mouthfuls , it was so disappointing if I had been in the restaurant I would have sent the food back demanded a refund and left. It is disingenuous to describe this as authentic greek food , it's nothing like souvlaki that I've had elsewhere , it was bland tasteless, mushy and dry and powdery like the poor quality chicken had been cooked in an overcrowded pan with no seasoning and then reheated , no colour on it, pale flabby and inedible, i felt so disappointed and it almost ruined our evening, souvlaki is cooked on skewers over charcoal , at least it is if it's authentic as the owner describes it , well the chicken hsd been about as near a grill as the elgin marbles are to the parthenon"

"a wonderful birthday lunch: outstanding appetizers (tatar of white fish in ceviche style with mango, jalapeno, thai curry and truffled spices from the meadow-champignons with plucked pasta) and an excellent main course (poched cablejau with sweet potatoes and curry anapore drink atmosphere). we're coming back!"

"We stood waiting to have our order taken for good 10 minutes while staff was just literally doing nothing and ignoring us. The staff was very rude and when asked questions about food replied with sarcasm and rudeness with one word answers. Food portions are tiny, chips were very stale and cold you can see in the photo £3.50 for that portion is a joke. The gyros were cold , dry and not good. It was our first time trying Greek gyros and honestly this has not been a good experience. Will not recommend this place to anyone. When you get orders worth nearly £40 you expect some quality... The kebab shop outside offers better food"

"My husband , myself ,our two daughters and three grandchildren , the youngest being three, had lunch here on Monday. We are , one dairy and gluten free, 4 vegan , one vegetarian and one who eats anything. Usually this makes eating out difficult but this place had everything covered ,with more than one vegan choice ,which is rare. They are also dog friendly but have one area dog free in case of allergy. The portions were very generous and the staff friendly and helpful. highly recommend and hopefully will get to visit again ."

"Another amazing meal here, we come at leastbonce a month for some of the most authentic, tasty and reasonably priced food. The dolmades are always great and the feta and spinach parcel are delicious! The gyros platter is what I adore and it cannot be faulted but, the filthy fries, omg, the filthy fries! Salty, crisp and moreish, the sauce is spicy and the feta just makes this another level. I would go just for the fries if I could! Decent amount of chicken or pork meat on top too! We shall return in the not too distant future!"

"Friendly welcome, wardrobe was taken from us, good table at the window. After the order, the first gear came quite fast, even before the aperitif, which we then thankfully dispensed with. No word of regret. Closing in a superb soup. Very good vegetarian main course, on the one hand, dry, lukewarm “fish net” with dry 3 kinds of fish, on the other hand, the pieces of the Schmorgurke but tasty. After paying the bill no one sees, no greeting, no Nix."

"order by eating them last night. from here I had not ordered, but my partner lived in Greece for many years, so you wanted to give a wee taste of her child. both my partner and I were very impressed. eating was delivered on time, chips were still crispy, pita brote had these nicely carburized elements and the meat was great, especially the port gyro. Since the restaurant realized that we were a new customer, they even threw them in a large 2l bottle irn bru free. will order again!"

"I was unaware that this cafe had changed ownership. It used to be absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, the quality has significantly declined since the new management took over. The staff member was friendly and attentive, however, the food was terrible. It was all cheap and poorly prepared. The sausage was tough, the fried egg was overcooked with a hard yolk and burnt edges, the beans were low quality, and the toast was pre-buttered with nasty margarine, not even buttered to the edges. I believe toast should be presented without being covered in butter and given a separate butter square to add yourself. In any case, I suggest not wasting your money here and finding another place to eat."

"After finding this place using this app, I was not disappointed! A friend and I went for lunch where you can get three dishes off the menu for £12.50. Everything is labelled vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free. I had the soupa, the bravas, and the manitaria all vegan; my friend had the falafel (vegan), the arancini (vegetarian) and the greek salad (vegetarian). We got complimentary bread and hummus too. The soup was really tasty and my friend loved the arancini (sort of like cheese balls). She said the greek salad was good but it had a lot of tomatoes in it so if you are a big fan of tomatoes then it could be perfect for you! Everything else we had was really nice too, and the service was excellent. The young lady who served us was so nice and whenever I asked about whether something was vegan she always promptly returned with an answer from the chef or the boss. It's a small place, but it does have more room downstairs for larger numbers of people. I would highly recommend this place, it was a very good first meal in Edinburgh definitely set us right after a long journey!"

"I never write bad reviews but this one deserves it, so they don’t go out of business. We ordered food and coffee, the food never arrived and the coffee was the worst coffee I had in a while. Since it’s a cafe at least they should get that right. I had to complain about my late cause it was 80% foam and it was all milk, and when they bring me the second one the didn’t change a thing. We waited for the food for 45 minutes and when we asked for an update because we had to leave they said it would still take a while. We cancelled the order and the waitress was really rude about it. She still charged us £6 for the foamy horribly tasting latte and the americano that was supposed to be included in the breakfast. This place really needs to fix their issues and hire new staff."

"If you love Gyros you must try here! Would rate a million stars if I could. What an amazing experience at Yiamas. Honestly one of the best gyros if not meals I have eaten in a long time. The quality, taste and flavours were incredible and to match some proper Greek beer! Delicious. I had the hummus and pitta and also the mixed gyro (Chicken and Pork). The waitress who served me was very friendly and polite and I’m very thankful for her attentiveness. I am not local to the area but when I return to the area I will definitely pop in again."

"There’s certainly no shortage of food outlets in Ocean Terminal, with the likes of Wagamama, Pizza Express and Franky Benny’s all taking up residence. On a recent visit, Mr. Nick’s seemed to be the only busy outlet, with only a couple of empty tables. We (the girlfriend and myself decided to try it out. We both went for the Chicken Gyros pita. It’s described on the menu as being wrapped with tomatoes, onion tzatziki and fries and was only £4.50. Who would have thought that including fries in a pita would be such a good idea? The meat to salad to fries ratio was spot on, and there was just enough of each to keep hunger at bay but not ruin my appetite for dinner later. The staff at Mr Nicks were both friendly and helpful, making it a delightful place to pop into for a spot of lunch. It’s perfect for grabbing a quick bite to eat while out shopping or grabbing some dinner before or after a visit to the cinema. Note: They don't offer alcoholic beverages (Sorry! I didn't get any pics during this visit. Read the full review here:"

"Booked a table at 2pm online, where we were told they needed the table back at 4pm. We arrived literally a couple of minutes late due to traffic and we were greeted by a rude member of staff who told us the kitchen had closed! When I asked why they have a table available for a booking at 2pm if the kitchen is closes at the same time, the same member of staff said “we were late” and basically kicked us out. Garbage customer service and booking policy. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t get any!"

"We love it here. Even a fussy 13 year old loves the food. Everything that comes out of the kitchen looks and smells incredible. The food is fresh, packed with flavour and the portions are generous. The staff are warm and welcoming and you are made to feel like you're the only customer despite the place being full Highly recommend Socrates."

"a wonderful hidden gem in brighton. eat tastes absolutely as in the premium traditional restaurants and taverns in Greece, while the portions really generous and appetit. I had the dolmades as an appetizer and the black merciful as a pornstar; unnecessary to say that everything was good in mouthwater. the atmosphere is also warm and welcoming, representatives of the world-famous Hellenic hospitality. the fact that many non-Greek redners visit this place for dinner is not a surprise; Greek eating when prepared and properly cooked, culinary paradies and yefsis delivered from Greece is perfect. very recommended for all in the east sussex area! will surely come back! "I understand that this pub was recently purchased by a new owner. that was our first time here for many years. it's probably many years before we go back. Previously, it was a great meal here, but not anymore. Cannot...quite understand the good reviews. Before we came in, we could see from the parking lot what an extremely young chef appeared in the kitchen. now I would not take off the juvenile and would not let this fact be my views scrutinized if that had been half decent, but it was not. what was to follow clearly shows that there is absolutely zero experience in the entire provision of food or services. Normally, a place with a fairly short menu is a note that what they serve, they do well. the greeting when we came in was quite wrong and that made the ton for the evening. the atmosphere in the room was not great and as our first drinks pints) were poured, some spilled over the hand of the merciful and they continued to lick it before they brought to our table one of what seemed like a year old, with all the skill and social gnade of good one year old. we ordered a burger and chips and a fish and chips. they arrived right away. rather than too timely and again from one of the child-employed with no attempt of social interaction and she also had one to spill one of the pints, but nothing to get a cloth to wipe or even apologise the spill from the table. concerning the food itself, the chips were of the reheated frozen lumpy sorts and were as dry and quality sticks. the fish was tasteless, grayish meat and served on the head. the burger was barely cooked and heavy fat-coated. it looked anemic because it was obviously boiled to far too low temperature and had none of the beautiful one decent burger. it was not even decent quality meat. prices are not reflexion of the quality of food or service levels."

"steki taverna is a charming family run Greek taverne, founded in southsea in portsmouth since 1998. the decor is welcoming and similar to the taverns that they see in Greece – terracotta floor, wooden tables and beams. They opened a second two-g in brighton in 2006. in the course of the years we must have sampled most items on the menu: as with most restaurants, some dishes are better than others and we are repeatedly withdrawn to our favorites. there are a good number of meat, seafood and vegetarian decisions. this is a good place for vegetarians – most of the hot and cold starters are suitable for vegetarians. menu items are t"
