"Delicious food and drinks. The service was relatively fast. My favourite dish was the Pan fried Halibut in the rich shellfish sauce. Not only was it presented beautifully, but the taste and texture also matched my expectations. The hispi cabbage and the rich broth like sauce complemented well with the halibut which was cooked to a perfect tenderness. The 12 hr Braised Beef tasted good, though it was slightly overcooked, making the meat a little drier/chewier to my liking. It 's rather like a Sunday roast too! The traditional Beer Battered Fish and Chips in the pub did not let me down. This piece of cod was meaty and succulent with a nice crispy batter crust. Oh, and the lovely chunky chips fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I guess the most mediocre dish was the Mussels, Cockles and Clams. First of all, the shellfish were not cleaned properly, there were still traces of sand and beard in the mussels. Not great. The taste was fairly decent though the shellfish lacks flavour on its own (without the sauce). The upside is that it was served with chips so we didn 't have to order an extra side. Their chips were great! Overall, we were glad that we got a table relatively quickly considering we didn 't make a reservation. The service was friendly and quick, but the only hiccup was that the waiter got our bill mixed up with another table. A much bigger table that 's not even close to us...and when I pointed out his mistake, he was a little defensive at first, saying 'No, it 's not wrong '. However, he quickly apologised when he realised he was actually wrong. Because of this and the average shellfish dish, I had to knock a star off."

"Went for the Sunday Jazz Feast bottomless brunch. We don’t drink so we enquired about non alcoholic options. Was pleasantly surprised that they offered a just bottomless food option where we could order drinks separately. Felt like this was a good start, but that was probably the only good surprise we experienced. We were quite disappointed that there were no oysters despite all the PR and reviews saying unlimited oysters. All over IG and Tik Tok it’s reviews about oysters, so that was disappointing. Felt that there were not a huge amount of options for seafood and starters/salads. The roasts looked good but found the meat was seasoned very heavily with salt. The gravy/jus was very watery. Must say the carver was very friendly though! Most of the other hot food (sausages with mash, chicken, risotto) were cold and looked unappetising due to looking dry and congealed. I understand it’s difficult on a buffet to keep things looking fresh but the temperature of the hot food was just too cold. Also not sure why they felt the need to slice the sausages in half? Dessert selection was also very limited and the cheese selection placed on the same table which had a very overwhelming smell. Definitely put me off, I didn’t eat any desserts. Service wise I noticed the tables around us were getting a good level of service, having their bottomless drinks topped up regularly. Maybe it was because we were just ordering our drinks separately and were not consuming alcohol I felt like we didn’t get the same attentive service. Waiters were having conversations with other guests and tables and we barely got a sideways glance. Took ages for us to get someone’s attention to order more drinks, get a top up of water etc. I was tempted to try to ask if I could order oysters but couldn’t get the attention of a waiter so just gave up. Even asking for the bill took longer than needed. Being busy we wanted to free up our table promptly for them. On our departure we barely got a thank you for paying nor a goodbye. Overall feel a bit underwhelmed and slightly cheated that one of the star attractions of this brunch buffet was oysters that weren’t even there. But the contrast in service to other tables and us was what really made this a sour experience. Although vastly more expensive, will probably stick to The Ned or even something like Nobu Shoreditch bottomless brunch."

"So on arriving at your bar restaurant we were greeted by a lovely young lady that asked us to wait just a second while we waited for another person to greet us and ask our names, the first impression was that everyone was very pleasant and we felt quite comfortable. The person booking us in looked us up on the iPad and then said I'm really sorry I'm not sure what what room your in let me check on the group what's app. There were some alarm bells ringing however we are we are reasonable people so we accepted this and waited. After a couple of minutes the person dealing with us found out which room we were in and took us up a flight of stairs and showed us in. On first impressions the room looked like it had been recently done up but to be honest a poor standard. The most notcible thing was that the room was at an angle, it slanted at every angle, you could tell because the skirting boards were at different heights, the dressing table was physical wonky and the bed I almost rolled off off during the night. And just to mention the bed a again it was really noisy, creaking every time you moved and upon looking we discovered that there were loose screws. Also there is a step into the bathroom which caught me out twice and should be addressed. Upon looking up and down the street for local restaurants were decided the food was quite limited in battle high street, so we decided to eat where we were staying and I have to say this was our biggest mistake. I ordered the prawn cocktail and BBQ wings and my partner ordered the nachos. My prawn cocktail arrived with no source and I had to ask for lemon, the chicken wings were bland and pink in the middle(I have photos) the only saving grace was that the nachos were ok. But for the prices you charge and food that we received we were not satisfied. Although I will say that the did take off the price off the food we were not satisfied with there was no offer of an alternative so we both went to be bed hungry, in fact coming down for crisps because we were so hungry. The fact you charge £14 a burger and expect another £4 for fries is ridiculous. And the same for breakfast(which should have been included) you get breakfast for £10 but doesn't include drinks but if you pay £12.50 you get coffee and tea, this is obviously a rip off. The saga continues!! Although you are a busy bar especially as I can appreciate on a Saturday I was kept up until 12.40am by what appears to be staff members that you employ, shouting and swearing while we were both trying to sleep Surly as an owner you would respect the people that were paying £110 a night to get good night sleep or not as it feels. And just to rub insult to injury when we left there was no one to say goodbye, did you have a nice stay all we got was a couple of guys outside smoking and when we did leave he went back inside to see if we had left a key. I emailed the manager and the response did not once mention an apology which made our experience more disappointing, a sorry goes a long way sometimes, Overall do not stay here if you want any type of customer service."

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
