"In the evening pampered by a waitress with attitude: a brutal art. she was rude with her remarks that were even noticed by neighboring tables. 2. to last night b4 lock, so that several dings must be ordered as not available. the red drinkers were happy with their wine. the white wee we wanted was not available, so we had problems with several diff preferences to find one to all tastes, so eventually went for the house Sauvignon/Semillon, which was not great. Understanding to be on some things at this point probably low, but waitress was pushy and impatient. think they have been stressed by everything they do not put on the customers! I was a waitress and I'm not sure if she was properly trained to talk to customers. she hadn't come over her b4. they call us with a decreasing ton as if we were little children. I have a great experience at 81 and you eat is usually very good and the staff is beautiful. their Sunday dinners are delicious. there were six of us and only three had appetizers that were nice. 4 had burgers who were dry and a bit flabby. great chips. the other net parts were good, but not up to the usual standard. we hoped for a funny sociable eve b4 lock off at a place we all know well, but sad it was marred and we came to think away “what a strange evening”."

My husband and I really enjoyed our Sunday roast and veggie option it was amazing. The starter was so original and tasty. No photos we ate, chatted and relaxed enjoyed ourselves so much thank you 81 Beach Street we will be back after lockdown

Excellent food, cooked to a high standard. The lunch menu (between 12 5pm) offers particularly good value with two courses for 12.99. Imaginative and inventive home made hors d 'oeuvre 's are particularly recommended. Staff are always welcoming and friendly.

I think this is my new favorite restaurant. we were twice in the month since eating is absolutely fantastic with some beautiful weinen ciders. the personal is friendly, but not above the tip and it is good socially distant easy to go. they will not regret it! View menu

I am so glad that we have brought the recommendation of our friend here for dinner. it was a great experience. I had to start the garnels, then the place and I shared the cheeseboard with my man, he had the brisket. it was all tasty-we would definitely return.

had a nice dinner here tonight! the restaurant is very charming, with a very tasty menu. we had the antipasto board that had a really nice tapenade. for my head I had the rumpsteak with garlic butter. yum. too filled for dessert, but the table opposite of us had beautiful looking dishes.

Sadly, the ambience and service was not as good as last time I visited. Basic things wrong like not offering water with meal and wine glasses warm. We were sat upstairs so may have been because of that and limited staff. Hopefully when things get back to normal, all areas will improve. So glad we chose this restaurant for a pre lockdown Sunday lunch with my Mum. We all plumped for the Sunday roast. I chose the pork which was delicious with nice crispy crackling. The vegetable accompaniments were fresh and tasty. The cheese board which I had to follow was first class and not the standard selection youre often presented with! Finally my top tip try the recommended gin Warners Pear and Apple!

As a fairly regular customer to 81 Beach Street I think that says it all. Their menu is always interesting and varied, seasonal and local, with a good choice to sort all tastes. Always reasonably priced with a good selection of wines. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Great Chef/Kitchen staff food cooked perfectly, never had a bad meal. I and my family have used the restaurant for small, intimate meals to large family occasions and have always been made very welcome as well as very attentive and understanding staff for some of our older relatives so an all round great restaurant which we will continue to us.
