"despite our email reminding us of the booking, the restaurant does not have the reservation in its system. for happiness, or unhappy, as it turned out, there were tables available. we had to sit up from the first (very tiny) Ywo-person table we were given when the seats were held too bad, without them being moved every time they were in their seat. the waiter missed our order for a starter, so our main courses arrived first. After we sent them back, we finally got our joint Nachos plate. we joked when we came to the main course that we hoped that this was not the same burgers they had used until 30 minutes before. not really sure we got a response to this question, but it was a mumble...still for debate. the burgers were best moderate, only served with fries and an uninspiring koleslaw. it's a very long time since I've ever eaten here, the youngest visits are only drinks. I don't want to go back based on this experience. frankie and bennys are over the road and I would prefer there now."

"from beginning to end, this can only be described as one of my worst restaurants experiences. we were a little early on our table so we were invited to stand at the bar to wait for our table. we waited and waited and waited for twenty minutes to serve and there was only one person in front of us. We were totally ignored while the two people behind the bar took care of the table orders. eating ordered and when it came, it was wrong so that the food of my wife had to go back. another order was also wrong and they promised to bring the fritten asap. they came when we all finished our eating. the food of my wife came back right, but the plate was full of fat and pommes was microwave. eating all looked completely inconspicuous. the manager took the cost for the meal of my wife from the bill and the riders who never arrived but nothing for our experience or offered more drinks. unnecessary to say that we never go back. it felt as if they really did not deal with the volume of people."

"I opted for the healthiest thing on the menu! Not like me but I felt like my body needed it, it was immense, so many flavours on one plate with lovely grilled chicken Staff were super friendly and attentive especially to my elderly mum in her wheelchair My mum is a super complainer and she never moaned once, so that's a feat in itself, well done lol"

"Had breakfast there on Sunday. Great choice of food and nice place inside. Coffee was a bit lacking in flavour though, and my full breakfast, although tasty, was all different teperatures. Sausages, pancake and potatoes were hot but eggs, tomato and bacon were pretty cold. Would expect all ingredients to be kept warm and plated together? Will go there again though and hope for better luck next time, as overall was still pleasant."

"I booked an early table for 6.15, but had walked past earlier and seen the restaurant full now I know why! Excellent ambiance, superb food which was well presented and exemplary service by cheerful staff (think First Dates Restaurant). Lovely atmosphere, great menu range and priced really well. "yesterday after a visit to avoncroft with the family. had no idea what was like, but so glad we landed at ewe and lamb. friendly, polite and friendly staff. it wasn't so busy that it was good! really clean. there were five of us. we ordered to eat that lasted about half an hour (what is what we expected for what we had). many choices on the menu and everyone enjoyed what we had. we were only on the way after a day, but even though it is an hour away by car, we are happy to make the trip again. I also wrote a review on my blog. only the best come there."

"Visited on Bank Hol Monday 26/8/19 booked a table for 4 people at 2pm..Was seated promptly, lovely welcoming smiling staff, drinks order taken within a minute or two of being seated, menus left for us, within 10 mins we had all ordered, food arrived piping hot and promptly, couldn’t fault it, first class service and excellent value for money..will be paying another visit very soon.. excellent.. Table for 4 booked under name of Hughes...for a 2.pm sit down...was very enjoyable"

"the first time I dimmed here, and I enjoyed it very much. I took my mother to lunch when we often did, but never thought to go in. we had a warm reception at the one and inwss impressed by the decor and cleanliness, much more 'chic' than their normal pub. it was a busy lunch, we were not in a hurry, so the time between starter and main was perfect. our appetizers were beautiful, grilled cocktail and pate and caramelized onion chutney. I recommend the tempoura fish and chips, tasty, non-greasy or so. beautiful chips, draughts and tartar sauce. my mother had steak and chips that they also enjoyed. our waitress was very warm and friendly. some updates pictures of a lunch in December 2021 a beautiful place, with perfect service and delicious food. the service is not included, and the machine did not allow to add, so if you want to type, they must have cash on them."

"The Brasserie is a lovely decorated restaurant that played smooth jazz throughout our visit. As a birthday meal out, we were excited to try somewhere new in town. The first waiter was prompt at taking our drinks order, but barely apologised at the lack of gas (so no draught ales) and didn 't know too much about the bottled beers. Two couples order the charcuterie boards. The ciabatta bread was toasted and sharp, so it didn 't make for a pleasant bite. It snapped rather than crunched... And the rocket wasn 't dressed, so we were eating dry leaves. After this, the second waiter came to apologise that there wasn 't any creamy polenta to accompany the main, wild mushroom ragu, so he offered mashed potato or rice. When this meal turned up, there wasn 't any of the vegan cheese or rocket, which was also supposed to accompany the meal. What a waste of money, knowing that vegan cheese can be fairly costly. Nobody came to ask the party if the food was alright. We weren 't seen to for a good 30 minutes, despite being the only people in the restaurant. As well as the ragu, the steak dishes were underwhelming as well, even these salads weren 't dressed. Dry leaves make for a sad meal. We are sorely disappointed as we were really looking forward to the food here. The waiting staff were pleasant but didn 't have the experience or training that they really needed. A memorable moment: What 's the cheesecake of the day? Oh, it 's JUST the new york cheesecake. Just vanilla. Don 't undersell your food! Just vanilla is still great!"

"the presentation of eating is good. However, all three sirloin steaks we ordered were boiled over. the service was minimal with only one staff that took service and order. when pouring a bottle of red wine on our weinglas it was as fast as it filled with water and without showing us the bottle and trying it out. inside damentoilette just came out of the kubikal found a male personal cleaning and it scared me. this type of service at hilton was not expected."

"The food was excellent and the drinks were generous in size, but unfortunately, the service was terrible. Our group of 25 people had 3 tables that were adequate for us to sit at and chat, but we were not allowed to move or switch seats, which was inconvenient. Guests who arrived late were not allowed to join us at our tables and were instead sent to the bar area, which we found unacceptable. We were also told that the bill would be split evenly among the tables, but later discovered that food from one table had been added to another table's bill, causing confusion during payment. The staff spoke rudely to some of our guests when they tried to join full tables, instructing them to sit at an empty table instead. This experience left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected, and we will not be returning to this restaurant in the future."

The person in charge spoke rudely to our guests when they tried to switch tables, and ultimately combined two tables' bills despite telling us not to swap. We will not be returning to this restaurant due to the uncomfortable experience and rude treatment we received."

"Mother’s Day lunch and we were not told there was a set menu. So a fish restaurant only has a choice of roasts for main course, all served with cabbage, leek, roast potatoes, carrots and Yorkshire pudding. None of which,I think partnered well with cod or confit duck or salmon. So dry chicken or vegetarian roast anyone? I think everything was pre cooked and reheated (not very well). Service was fine and we were asked after eating if everything was OK and will admit said OK as my mother hates a ‘fuss’ and it was not worth upsetting her by complaining or sending dishes back. They mentioned how busy they were and I wonder if by a short term gain of overcharging for poor quality food on a special occasion they won’t loose custom in the long run as we certainly won’t return, it’s a shame as we are always looking for good local restaurants. Also the restaurant looks nothing like the photos on their website which has white tablecloths and comfy looking chairs, the reality was bare tables with plastic table mats that had the drinks menu printed on them and hard upright wooden chairs. We had the lobster burger menu which is a pretty good deal for £15.50 for a whole lobster. Only slight criticism is it was a touch cold and the portions of chips are very small (but probably the size we should be eating! . The desserts are incredible! "The staff at The Leopard went above and beyond to make my friend and I feel looked after. We've had a lovely 2 course meal with wine and had fabulous service from Fabio and the rest of the team. Best restaurant I've been to in ages and the merlot is lovely. Very warm cosy feel with friendly staff, I'd recommend to everyone. I had the pork duo and then sticky toffee pudding which were both indulgent and well worth what you pay for them. We drank the merlot which was also very tasty. Big thank you to the friendly staff who looked after us, we'll definitely be back again soon!"
