"Mother’s Day lunch and we were not told there was a set menu. So a fish restaurant only has a choice of roasts for main course, all served with cabbage, leek, roast potatoes, carrots and Yorkshire pudding. None of which,I think partnered well with cod or confit duck or salmon. So dry chicken or vegetarian roast anyone? I think everything was pre cooked and reheated (not very well). Service was fine and we were asked after eating if everything was OK and will admit said OK as my mother hates a ‘fuss’ and it was not worth upsetting her by complaining or sending dishes back. They mentioned how busy they were and I wonder if by a short term gain of overcharging for poor quality food on a special occasion they won’t loose custom in the long run as we certainly won’t return, it’s a shame as we are always looking for good local restaurants. Also the restaurant looks nothing like the photos on their website which has white tablecloths and comfy looking chairs, the reality was bare tables with plastic table mats that had the drinks menu printed on them and hard upright wooden chairs. Went on the 18/03/22 staff welcoming Service prompt,food was lovely,cocktails tasty.was seated upstairs and there was not many diners but we didn’t mind that not sure what’s it like when busy but overall very good.

Although I am not a vegetarian, I decided to try some of the vegetarian options at this restaurant for a change. I found them to be nice, but slightly more expensive when compared to the fish or meat dishes on the menu.

Another great afternoon in Kilkies. One of the few Leigh on Sea restaurants to offer good food all day, so great when your planning a lazy afternoon lunch and drinks. Great service, tasty paella and we moved from inside to eat to enjoy the sun.

Upon arriving for our reservation, we were disappointed to find that the kitchen was already closed. We were seated quickly, but it felt like we were in our own living room. The table was dirty and we had to flag down the server. The service was slow, even though there were not many other customers. Overall, we were not impressed and probably won't return.

What ever you do don't go to this restaurant. I booked a table at 7 pm on Saturday 2nd off April for my wife's birthday as soon as we got there the staff told us they didn't have half the menu. I said can I still have a surf and turf they said they didn't have lobster but we can have a prawn on top off steak for same price as lobster. I told them that your menu on Internet says it comes with lobster the staff said that was old menu and shouldn't be on there .we walked out and went 2 doors along to a tai restaurant had brilliant meal so what ever u do don't book for a meal here manager should be sacked very rude
