"We enjoyed the afternoon tea, which was quite good, but the overall experience was somewhat diminished by the poor quality of the environment. We were seated in the lounge area where a business meeting was taking place; while we didn't mind that, the entire space felt uninviting. It would have been better if a separate area had been designated for afternoon tea, as we weren't the only guests present. Additionally, a proper tablecloth would have elevated the look of our table, making the experience feel more special and enjoyable. The afternoon was enjoyable, but I fear the lack of ambiance took away from the charm."

"I decided to try the number one voted fish and chips in the area while visiting the UK. I highly recommend the fish and chips, the portion size of the fish they give you is impressive. I was with a vegan eater and the restaurant was able to accommodate them with a veggie burger and chips. While speaking with the staff, they suggested I try the seafood soup, which was delicious. The fish artwork on the walls was interesting to look at while waiting for our food. The restroom was clean and well-maintained, the only downside was that it was located upstairs, but this shouldn't be an issue for most people."

"On a calm Saturday night, my party was the only ones in the restaurant initially. The food was exceptional, especially the mussels. We even brought our dog along and they were very accommodating with a meal for our furry friend. When we requested rice but received pasta instead, the staff quickly corrected the mistake without any fuss. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. However, it was often difficult to get the attention of the wait staff. This may have been due to the restaurant's size or the fact that they tended to congregate near the bar, which was quite a distance from the tables. Despite this, we plan to return for special occasions in the future."

"Most enjoyable meal we have had in a long time! We saw the black horse on instagram and decided to check it out. The new owners have really made this pub into a 'destination ' pub. There 's a relaxed, up-market vibe to the place and the food is outstanding! The owners are up front of house and they are friendly and tentative. We were out for a family meal but we both have said can 't wait to go back and have a proper date night! It 's 'posh nosh ' without the stiff, formal atmosphere that often accompanies this kind of dining (having said this, you could easily dress up and go for a date and not feel out of place) We had the crab, the carpaccio and the scallops- all utterly delicious! Followed by the duck and the hake. My duck was perfectly cooked. Everything is beautifully displayed on the plate and the flavours and textures are perfect. If your thinking of going- I can 't recommend enough that you do. I 'm thrilled to have this fine dining gem of a pub practically on our doorstep. Looking forward to coming back later in the month."

"This restaurant has a lovely location and a great menu. The service is friendly and comes with a nice sense of humor. The food and drinks are really delicious; I had the meat pie, which was generously filled with meat, accompanied by a boat of gravy and some vegetables. The dessert was excellent as well. Overall, I would rate the service a 5 and the location a 5. Hotel highlights include a fantastic view, a romantic atmosphere, being kid-friendly, and offering great value."

"Wow, the pub has been amazingly well renovated. Such a huge improvement!. Came with the family and absolutely loved the Don Burgers! Didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. Loved the interior decor, it's so well done. Would be ideal for cycle groups too as lots of space for bikes to be kept out the back. Would also be good for a classic car or motorbike meet. Keep up the good work and standards and we will definitely be back! Update, came back in April 2023 and still really good. Accommodated nine starving cyclists and managed to fit us in for a quick coffee and cake! Thanks very much!"

"First of all wow! Myself and my partner ordered the bacon, pancakes and maple syrup. Let me tell you the portion size was huge (which is amazing value for money! The pancakes were cooked to perfection with bacon layered in between each pancake, and a cute little jug of syrup, they tasted phenomenal ! Neither of us could finish it sadly could easily have one portion between two people and they were so cheap! Maybe a little more of an experience from the staff would be lovely, and it was quite a darkly lit place. I also had the pumpkin spiced latte which was amazing. Definitely recommend"

"We have dined at The Legh Arms several times before, but last night was truly special. It was my partner's 60th birthday, and we had a surprise party with 17 guests, which could have posed some challenges. From booking the event, to discussing menu choices, to our seating arrangements on the night, everything was handled smoothly and without any issues. The food was exceptional - everyone was impressed with the quality, presentation, flavors, and portion sizes. Every single member of the staff, from the front of house to the bar, were fantastic - friendly, attentive, and even under pressure, they had a great sense of humor and personality. "We enjoyed a mixture of creative food and traditional fare all of which was excellent. A good wine menu with it. The atmosphere is casual a bar downstairs and some tables upstairs. We were just into the autumn/winter season, and so the choice was slightly more limited than the busier summer season but still plenty of great things to try. We spent a relaxed couple of hours or so and would happily recommend if you enjoy a mix of creative/traditional food. We felt the prices were good value for the food we enjoyed. Its a little off the beaten track but worth the effort, in our opinion."

"I have eaten at this restaurant at least half-a-dozen times, evening and lunch. This time it was Sunday lunch and the setvice was poor, not the staff particularly, though they did not notice that we had been waiting 45 minutes to be served our meal. One of the vegetables was listed as red cabbage but we were served green cabbage, without any apology."

"Went last night to the millers we were the only ones in the restraunt at 7 on a sat night,there were no menu,s just a specials board with 5 dishes. "I've visited this restaurant twice, and my first experience was much better than the second. On my recent visit, the piccata was thick and mushy, while the carpaccio was dry and lacking flavor. I ended up spending over $70 for myself, which included just two glasses of wine. There are many other restaurants that offer better quality for that price. However, I must say the view was lovely."

"Confused from the start. We were told we had to prebook, when we got there this is for only groups of 10? We received our precooked food before we had ordered drinks. We were then pretty rushed through our meal, in and out in less than an hour. We feel we were treated as happy hour customers who unfortunately paid full price. Also one of our party couldn’t make it as was poorly. We were told as pre booked and pre cooked we had to pay for the meal, which we did and took away in a doggy bag. Finally came to pay the bill and was then told we would not be charged for the the meal for our friend. Dark room, average food."

"We booked here for a team Christmas lunch. A couple of us had been meaning to try The Magnum for ages, so were looking forward to visiting. The Magnum is a nice venue and seemed bigger on the inside than it appeared on outside and is serenely decorated. We were all struggling to pick what to have from the menu as much of it sounded yummy. In the end as we had all eyed up the baked Camembert to share, we got two of those between the four of us. Then I went for the sausage of the day, which was lamb and thyme, another colleague went for tempura battered haddock and the other two went for the beef and rosemary burger. One of my colleagues had dithered on whether to get the burger as she was worried it would be big so asked the waitress for advice. She tried to describe it as best as possible to help her make a decision, which I thought was good service."

"Had a nice evening albeit food overall was disappointing. The interior also doesn’t match up now to the outside space, more can be made of things potentially lovely pub. You often find food quality is compromised with festive menus and it becomes more like mass catering so lacked a bit of the quality and finesse of when I have visited previously. Brie bites looked like they were out of a party food box and most of the cheese was already oozing out and therefore stuck to the plate. Mains were pretty good but desserts disappointing, watery custard and a slice of Yule log thinner than a slice of bread. However overall good value and friendly service."

"I booked, in secret, for my wife's birthday. I had asked them if I could pre order the food so we didn't have to wait as we were tight on time. I also asked if they could hold onto her gift from me and present it to her with the wine. All went perfectly with superb friendly service, amazing steaks, great value red wine. In and out within 60 minutes. Perfect"

"I got a gift voucher to use in the brasserie. we wanted to eat here in august, but there were no tables for non-guests, which was disappointed. but we managed to get a table for two beginnings oktober. we parked in the central parking lot, but found it difficult to find even the brasserie as there were not enough signs. Once we found it, we received a warm welcome. the menu was varied. I have chosen to start with the fish and chips for main and cheesecake for dessert. my man chose pate to start steak for pornstars and cheesecakes. the food was well cooked and well presented. although the bill was on the costly side, also with the credit, I felt that it was a good value for money. we might want to return to the spa and spend the day there and go to the brasserie with a meal."
