"From initial emails back and forth, to arriving on the day, we could not have asked for more. The team were prompt to respond and so friendly and helpful throughout. The team had even attached some pretty decorations to the ceiling, and we were able to arrive slightly earlier than the booked time to decorate further. The food was exceptional, a great range of freshly made sandwiches, cakes, scones with jam and cream alongside homemade coleslaw and salad. The drink choice was extensive and everyone was able to find something they enjoyed (with great comments about the hot chocolate and coffee in particular! The baby shower overran slightly but we were able to stay a little past closing time, which was really appreciated too. After only being to the cheeky bean a couple of times before for brunch and coffee, I will certainly be visiting more often and will continue to recommend this lovely business. A big thankyou again. "Five star service is not exactly what you expect when you enter the Cheese Yard Restaurant but it's very true, it is a very casual place and very homely, it's not a pub more of an upmarket Café although it's off down a country lane that leads to nowhere apart from nice countryside walks and a amazing view of the Glastonbury Tor. It's definitely a hidden gem and the food on offer is like your Mum makes, really crispy potatoes or chips and generous portions, perfect place to meet family and friends for Breakfast, Lunch or Afternoon Tea with a choice of Amazing cakes. Did l mention Dog Friendly too and l mean so much fuss was made of my 2 Puggies they felt like celebraties.Can't wait to return."

"Unfortunately the Sunday menu has shrunk yet again only choice of beef or pork now if wanting a roast lunch, Food arrived in a timely manner but lukewarm. Terrible issue with flies not enjoyable having to keep swatting them away from Food and drinks. Service charge added to bill ...why , it should be customers choice to tip, not to be made to feel uncomfortable if you don't Want to. Tipping used to be because it was poorly paid, minimum wage changed that, I did ask if the servers got the tip and they do and the server said they work hard so deserve it, ummm they are being paid to work hard. Seems to have had a big change of staff, unfortunately put of going again."

"We booked to stay at the Redan Inn for one night and we're really excited as the reviews looked amazing. The pub itself is lovely and the food was delicious rather large portions but the quality of the food was great, especially the home made bread. The reason for 3 stars is because of the mishaps when arriving. When we were shown to our room if became clear that both rooms booked had not been cleaned, with wet towels in our room and in my brother's room an unmade bed, food on the bed and on the table, a curtain pulled off the wall. Quite shocking and if became apparent all the rooms were in this state within the pub. The team did work hard to sort this out and were very apologetic, with a free round for us at the bar. However it was really not great... especially the state of my brother's room. We also had some issues with the water in our room not getting warm for over 15 minutes when we were on a tight schedule to leave in the morning, this needs to be looked into. I will say that I would return here as I know mistakes happen and clearly there had been an issue with the housekeeper. The room was lovely and large with a comfy bed and as mentioned the food was delightful. It's also the only pub that I've been to that serves a fantastic Moretti as a city girl it's hard to find a decent pint these days and that one was unbelievably smooth and crisp!"

"From check in to check out my stay was excellent. All of the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble and I felt very welcome; not just another guest. The food was fantastic, their home beer The George was delicious and the home made ice cream was exceptional. My room (with a very welcome upgrade to a double) was impeccably clean, spacious and the comfortable ensured a great night 's sleep. The location is great with a shop, pub and restaurant on site there was no need for me to go anywhere else during my stay. Being the local shop and parcel drop off point, the pub always had a steady stream of visitors which along with the regulars at the bar from lunchtime to the end of the day gave a lovely atmosphere. Being dog friendly is an extra bonus. I travelled alone this time but my family and I have tried previously to find a suitable place for a break but have ended up trying to arrange a pet sitter instead, so we will be back! Peter and Veryan were wonderfully kind and totally genuine hosts and I would like to thank them very much for making my stay so good. Food drinks: Excellent home cooked food and home made ice cream, and they even have a beer made specially for them. Noteworthy details: Dog friendly"
